At-Tur (الطور)
Surah 52 • 50 Verses • Arabic, English & Kiswahili
بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
﴿١﴾
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
وَٱلطُّورِ
﴿٢﴾
By the Mount (Tur).
وَكِتَـٰبٍۢ مَّسْطُورٍۢ
﴿٣﴾
And a written Book (Scripture).
فِى رَقٍّۢ مَّنشُورٍۢ
﴿٤﴾
In parchment spread open.
وَٱلْبَيْتِ ٱلْمَعْمُورِ
﴿٥﴾
And by the inhabited House (Kaaba).
وَٱلسَّقْفِ ٱلْمَرْفُوعِ
﴿٦﴾
And the raised roof.
وَٱلْبَحْرِ ٱلْمَسْجُورِ
﴿٧﴾
And the swollen sea.
إِنَّ عَذَابَ رَبِّكَ لَوَٰقِعٌۭ
﴿٨﴾
Indeed, the punishment of your Lord will occur.
مَّا لَهُۥ مِن دَافِعٍۢ
﴿٩﴾
None can avert it.
يَوْمَ تَمُورُ ٱلسَّمَآءُ مَوْرًۭا
﴿١٠﴾
The Day when the heaven will sway violently,
وَتَسِيرُ ٱلْجِبَالُ سَيْرًۭا
﴿١١﴾
And the mountains will move away.
فَوَيْلٌۭ يَوْمَئِذٍۢ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ
﴿١٢﴾
So woe that Day to the deniers.
ٱلَّذِينَ هُمْ فِى خَوْضٍۢ يَلْعَبُونَ
﴿١٣﴾
Who are in play and amusement;
يَوْمَ يُدَعُّونَ إِلَىٰ نَارِ جَهَنَّمَ دَعًّا
﴿١٤﴾
The Day they will be driven to the Fire of Hell forcibly,
هَـٰذِهِ ٱلنَّارُ ٱلَّتِى كُنتُم بِهَا تُكَذِّبُونَ
﴿١٥﴾
This is the Fire which you used to deny.
أَفَسِحْرٌ هَـٰذَآ أَمْ أَنتُمْ لَا تُبْصِرُونَ
﴿١٦﴾
Is this magic, or do you not see?
ٱصْلَوْهَا فَٱصْبِرُوٓا۟ أَوْ لَا تَصْبِرُوا۟ سَوَآءٌ عَلَيْكُمْ ۖ إِنَّمَا تُجْزَوْنَ مَا كُنتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ
﴿١٧﴾
Burn therein, so be patient or impatient, it is the same for you; you are only recompensed for what you used to do.
إِنَّ ٱلْمُتَّقِينَ فِى جَنَّـٰتٍۢ وَنَعِيمٍۢ
﴿١٨﴾
Indeed, the righteous will be in gardens and bliss,
فَـٰكِهِينَ بِمَآ ءَاتَىٰهُمْ رَبُّهُمْ وَوَقَىٰهُمْ رَبُّهُمْ عَذَابَ ٱلْجَحِيمِ
﴿١٩﴾
Enjoying what their Lord has given them, and their Lord protected them from the punishment of Hellfire.
كُلُوا۟ وَٱشْرَبُوا۟ هَنِيٓـًٔۢا بِمَا كُنتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ
﴿٢٠﴾
Eat and drink pleasantly for what you used to do.
مُتَّكِـِٔينَ عَلَىٰ سُرُرٍۢ مَّصْفُوفَةٍۢ ۖ وَزَوَّجْنَـٰهُم بِحُورٍ عِينٍۢ
﴿٢١﴾
Reclining on arranged couches; and We married them to fair ones with wide, lovely eyes.
وَٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَٱتَّبَعَتْهُمْ ذُرِّيَّتُهُم بِإِيمَـٰنٍ أَلْحَقْنَا بِهِمْ ذُرِّيَّتَهُمْ وَمَآ أَلَتْنَـٰهُم مِّنْ عَمَلِهِم مِّن شَىْءٍۢ ۚ كُلُّ ٱمْرِئٍۭ بِمَا كَسَبَ رَهِينٌۭ
﴿٢٢﴾
And those who believed and whose descendants followed them in faith – We will join with them their descendants, and We will not deprive them of anything of their deeds; every person, for what he earned, is retained.
وَأَمْدَدْنَـٰهُم بِفَـٰكِهَةٍۢ وَلَحْمٍۢ مِّمَّا يَشْتَهُونَ
﴿٢٣﴾
And We provided them with fruits and meat, as they desire.
يَتَنَـٰزَعُونَ فِيهَا كَأْسًۭا لَّا لَغْوٌۭ فِيهَا وَلَا تَأْثِيمٌۭ
﴿٢٤﴾
They will pass around cups there, free from ill speech and sin.
وَيَطُوفُ عَلَيْهِمْ غِلْمَانٌۭ لَّهُمْ كَأَنَّهُمْ لُؤْلُؤٌۭ مَّكْنُونٌۭ
﴿٢٥﴾
And youths will circulate among them, resembling hidden pearls.
وَأَقْبَلَ بَعْضُهُمْ عَلَىٰ بَعْضٍۢ يَتَسَآءَلُونَ
﴿٢٦﴾
They will face one another, asking about each other.
قَالُوٓا۟ إِنَّا كُنَّا قَبْلُ فِىٓ أَهْلِنَا مُشْفِقِينَ
﴿٢٧﴾
They will say: 'Indeed, we were fearful for our families before.'
فَمَنَّ ٱللَّهُ عَلَيْنَا وَوَقَىٰنَا عَذَابَ ٱلسَّمُومِ
﴿٢٨﴾
So Allah bestowed favor upon us and saved us from the scorching punishment.
إِنَّا كُنَّا مِن قَبْلُ نَدْعُوهُ ۖ إِنَّهُۥ هُوَ ٱلْبَرُّ ٱلرَّحِيمُ
﴿٢٩﴾
Indeed, we used to call upon Him before; indeed, He is the Kind, the Merciful.
فَذَكِّرْ فَمَآ أَنتَ بِنِعْمَتِ رَبِّكَ بِكَاهِنٍۢ وَلَا مَجْنُونٍ
﴿٣٠﴾
So remind; you are not, by the favor of your Lord, a soothsayer or madman.
أَمْ يَقُولُونَ شَاعِرٌۭ نَّتَرَبَّصُ بِهِۦ رَيْبَ ٱلْمَنُونِ
﴿٣١﴾
Or do they say, 'A poet, we await for him the misfortune of time'?
قُلْ تَرَبَّصُوا۟ فَإِنِّى مَعَكُم مِّنَ ٱلْمُتَرَبِّصِينَ
﴿٣٢﴾
Say: 'Wait, for I am with you among the waiters.'
أَمْ تَأْمُرُهُمْ أَحْلَـٰمُهُم بِهَـٰذَآ ۚ أَمْ هُمْ قَوْمٌۭ طَاغُونَ
﴿٣٣﴾
Or do their minds command them in this? Or are they a rebellious people?
أَمْ يَقُولُونَ تَقَوَّلَهُۥ ۚ بَل لَّا يُؤْمِنُونَ
﴿٣٤﴾
Or do they say, 'He invented it'? Nay, but they do not believe.
فَلْيَأْتُوا۟ بِحَدِيثٍۢ مِّثْلِهِۦٓ إِن كَانُوا۟ صَـٰدِقِينَ
﴿٣٥﴾
Then let them produce a statement like it, if they are truthful.
أَمْ خُلِقُوا۟ مِنْ غَيْرِ شَىْءٍ أَمْ هُمُ ٱلْخَـٰلِقُونَ
﴿٣٦﴾
Or were they created without anything, or are they the creators?
أَمْ خَلَقُوا۟ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضَ ۚ بَل لَّا يُوقِنُونَ
﴿٣٧﴾
Or did they create the heavens and the earth? Nay, they are not certain.
أَمْ عِندَهُمْ خَزَآئِنُ رَبِّكَ أَمْ هُمُ ٱلْمُصَۣيْطِرُونَ
﴿٣٨﴾
Or do they have the treasures of your Lord, or are they the controllers?
أَمْ لَهُمْ سُلَّمٌۭ يَسْتَمِعُونَ فِيهِ ۖ فَلْيَأْتِ مُسْتَمِعُهُم بِسُلْطَـٰنٍۢ مُّبِينٍ
﴿٣٩﴾
Or do they have a ladder by which they listen? Then let their listener bring a clear authority.
أَمْ لَهُ ٱلْبَنَـٰتُ وَلَكُمُ ٱلْبَنُونَ
﴿٤٠﴾
Or does He have daughters while you have sons?
أَمْ تَسْـَٔلُهُمْ أَجْرًۭا فَهُم مِّن مَّغْرَمٍۢ مُّثْقَلُونَ
﴿٤١﴾
Or do you ask them for a reward, while they are burdened with debt?
أَمْ عِندَهُمُ ٱلْغَيْبُ فَهُمْ يَكْتُبُونَ
﴿٤٢﴾
Or do they have knowledge of the unseen? Then they write it down.
أَمْ يُرِيدُونَ كَيْدًۭا ۖ فَٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ هُمُ ٱلْمَكِيدُونَ
﴿٤٣﴾
Or do they intend a scheme? Indeed, those who disbelieve – they are the schemers.
أَمْ لَهُمْ إِلَـٰهٌ غَيْرُ ٱللَّهِ ۚ سُبْحَـٰنَ ٱللَّهِ عَمَّا يُشْرِكُونَ
﴿٤٤﴾
Or do they have gods other than Allah? Exalted is Allah above what they associate with Him.
وَإِن يَرَوْا۟ كِسْفًۭا مِّنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ سَاقِطًۭا يَقُولُوا۟ سَحَابٌۭ مَّرْكُومٌۭ
﴿٤٥﴾
And if they see a fragment falling from the sky, they say, 'An accumulated cloud.'
فَذَرْهُمْ حَتَّىٰ يُلَـٰقُوا۟ يَوْمَهُمُ ٱلَّذِى فِيهِ يُصْعَقُونَ
﴿٤٦﴾
So leave them until they meet their Day, in which they will be struck down.
يَوْمَ لَا يُغْنِى عَنْهُمْ كَيْدُهُمْ شَيْـًۭٔا وَلَا هُمْ يُنصَرُونَ
﴿٤٧﴾
The Day their scheme will not avail them at all, nor will they be helped.
وَإِنَّ لِلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا۟ عَذَابًۭا دُونَ ذَٰلِكَ وَلَـٰكِنَّ أَكْثَرَهُمْ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ
﴿٤٨﴾
Indeed, those who do wrong will have a punishment other than that, but most of them do not know.
وَٱصْبِرْ لِحُكْمِ رَبِّكَ فَإِنَّكَ بِأَعْيُنِنَا ۖ وَسَبِّحْ بِحَمْدِ رَبِّكَ حِينَ تَقُومُ
﴿٤٩﴾
So be patient for the decision of your Lord, for indeed you are in Our sight. And glorify the praises of your Lord when you stand.
وَمِنَ ٱلَّيْلِ فَسَبِّحْهُ وَإِدْبَـٰرَ ٱلنُّجُومِ
﴿٥٠﴾
And during the night, glorify Him, and when the stars disappear.
