Surah 51 • 61 Verses • Arabic, English & Kiswahili
بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
﴿١﴾
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
وَٱلذَّٰرِيَـٰتِ ذَرْوًۭا
﴿٢﴾
By those [winds] that scatter [dust] dispersing.
فَٱلْحَـٰمِلَـٰتِ وِقْرًۭا
﴿٣﴾
And those that carry a heavy load [of clouds].
فَٱلْجَـٰرِيَـٰتِ يُسْرًۭا
﴿٤﴾
And those that glide [with ease].
فَٱلْمُقَسِّمَـٰتِ أَمْرًا
﴿٥﴾
And those who apportion [each matter].
إِنَّمَا تُوعَدُونَ لَصَادِقٌۭ
﴿٦﴾
Indeed, what you are promised is true.
وَإِنَّ ٱلدِّينَ لَوَٰقِعٌۭ
﴿٧﴾
And indeed, the judgement is to occur.
وَٱلسَّمَآءِ ذَاتِ ٱلْحُبُكِ
﴿٨﴾
And the heaven with its intricate structure.
إِنَّكُمْ لَفِى قَوْلٍۢ مُّخْتَلِفٍۢ
﴿٩﴾
Indeed, you are in differing speech.
يُؤْفَكُ عَنْهُ مَنْ أُفِكَ
﴿١٠﴾
So away from it is diverted whoever is astray.
قُتِلَ ٱلْخَرَّٰصُونَ
﴿١١﴾
Woe to the falsifiers.
ٱلَّذِينَ هُمْ فِى غَمْرَةٍۢ سَاهُونَ
﴿١٢﴾
Those who are in heedless play.
يَسْـَٔلُونَ أَيَّانَ يَوْمُ ٱلدِّينِ
﴿١٣﴾
They ask, 'When will the Day of Judgment be?'
يَوْمَ هُمْ عَلَى ٱلنَّارِ يُفْتَنُونَ
﴿١٤﴾
It is the day they will be tested over the Fire.
ذُوقُوا۟ فِتْنَتَكُمْ هَـٰذَا ٱلَّذِى كُنتُم بِهِۦ تَسْتَعْجِلُونَ
﴿١٥﴾
Taste your trial; this is what you used to hasten.
إِنَّ ٱلْمُتَّقِينَ فِى جَنَّـٰتٍۢ وَعُيُونٍ
﴿١٦﴾
Indeed, the righteous will be in gardens and springs.
ءَاخِذِينَ مَآ ءَاتَىٰهُمْ رَبُّهُمْ ۚ إِنَّهُمْ كَانُوا۟ قَبْلَ ذَٰلِكَ مُحْسِنِينَ
﴿١٧﴾
Receiving what their Lord has given them; indeed, they were before that doers of good.
كَانُوا۟ قَلِيلًۭا مِّنَ ٱلَّيْلِ مَا يَهْجَعُونَ
﴿١٨﴾
They used to sleep but little by night.
وَبِٱلْأَسْحَارِ هُمْ يَسْتَغْفِرُونَ
﴿١٩﴾
And in the early hours they would ask forgiveness.
وَفِىٓ أَمْوَٰلِهِمْ حَقٌّۭ لِّلسَّآئِلِ وَٱلْمَحْرُومِ
﴿٢٠﴾
And in their wealth there is a due for the beggar and the deprived.
وَفِى ٱلْأَرْضِ ءَايَـٰتٌۭ لِّلْمُوقِنِينَ
﴿٢١﴾
And in the earth are signs for the certain [in faith].
وَفِىٓ أَنفُسِكُمْ ۚ أَفَلَا تُبْصِرُونَ
﴿٢٢﴾
And within yourselves; will you not then see?
وَفِى ٱلسَّمَآءِ رِزْقُكُمْ وَمَا تُوعَدُونَ
﴿٢٣﴾
And in the heaven is your provision and whatever you are promised.
فَوَرَبِّ ٱلسَّمَآءِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ إِنَّهُۥ لَحَقٌّۭ مِّثْلَ مَآ أَنَّكُمْ تَنطِقُونَ
﴿٢٤﴾
By the Lord of heaven and earth, indeed it is the truth, just as you speak.
هَلْ أَتَىٰكَ حَدِيثُ ضَيْفِ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ ٱلْمُكْرَمِينَ
﴿٢٥﴾
Has the story of the honored guests of Abraham reached you?
إِذْ دَخَلُوا۟ عَلَيْهِ فَقَالُوا۟ سَلَـٰمًۭا ۖ قَالَ سَلَـٰمٌۭ قَوْمٌۭ مُّنكَرُونَ
﴿٢٦﴾
When they entered upon him and said, 'Peace.' He said, 'Peace,' [and] said, 'A people unknown to you.'
فَرَاغَ إِلَىٰٓ أَهْلِهِۦ فَجَآءَ بِعِجْلٍۢ سَمِينٍۢ
﴿٢٧﴾
So he went to his family and brought a fat calf.
فَقَرَّبَهُۥٓ إِلَيْهِمْ قَالَ أَلَا تَأْكُلُونَ
﴿٢٨﴾
And he placed it before them. He said, 'Will you not eat?'
فَأَوْجَسَ مِنْهُمْ خِيفَةًۭ ۖ قَالُوا۟ لَا تَخَفْ ۖ وَبَشَّرُوهُ بِغُلَـٰمٍ عَلِيمٍۢ
﴿٢٩﴾
But he felt fear from them. They said, 'Do not fear,' and gave him glad tidings of a knowledgeable boy.
فَأَقْبَلَتِ ٱمْرَأَتُهُۥ فِى صَرَّةٍۢ فَصَكَّتْ وَجْهَهَا وَقَالَتْ عَجُوزٌ عَقِيمٌۭ
﴿٣٠﴾
Then his wife approached, and she struck her face and said, 'I am an old barren woman.'
قَالُوا۟ كَذَٰلِكِ قَالَ رَبُّكِ ۖ إِنَّهُۥ هُوَ ٱلْحَكِيمُ ٱلْعَلِيمُ
﴿٣١﴾
They said, 'Thus will your Lord say; indeed, He is the Wise, the Knowing.'
قَالَ فَمَا خَطْبُكُمْ أَيُّهَا ٱلْمُرْسَلُونَ
﴿٣٢﴾
He said, 'What is your matter, O messengers?'
قَالُوٓا۟ إِنَّآ أُرْسِلْنَآ إِلَىٰ قَوْمٍۢ مُّجْرِمِينَ
﴿٣٣﴾
They said, 'Indeed, we have been sent to a sinful people.'
لِنُرْسِلَ عَلَيْهِمْ حِجَارَةًۭ مِّن طِينٍۢ
﴿٣٤﴾
To send upon them stones of clay.
مُّسَوَّمَةً عِندَ رَبِّكَ لِلْمُسْرِفِينَ
﴿٣٥﴾
Marked by your Lord for the transgressors.
فَأَخْرَجْنَا مَن كَانَ فِيهَا مِنَ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ
﴿٣٦﴾
So We saved those who were in it of the believers.
فَمَا وَجَدْنَا فِيهَا غَيْرَ بَيْتٍۢ مِّنَ ٱلْمُسْلِمِينَ
﴿٣٧﴾
And We found therein no one except a household of believers.
وَتَرَكْنَا فِيهَآ ءَايَةًۭ لِّلَّذِينَ يَخَافُونَ ٱلْعَذَابَ ٱلْأَلِيمَ
﴿٣٨﴾
And We left therein a sign for those who fear the painful punishment.
وَفِى مُوسَىٰٓ إِذْ أَرْسَلْنَـٰهُ إِلَىٰ فِرْعَوْنَ بِسُلْطَـٰنٍۢ مُّبِينٍۢ
﴿٣٩﴾
And [mention] Moses, when We sent him to Pharaoh with a clear authority.
فَتَوَلَّىٰ بِرُكْنِهِۦ وَقَالَ سَـٰحِرٌ أَوْ مَجْنُونٌۭ
﴿٤٠﴾
But he turned away in pride and said, 'A magician or a madman!'
فَأَخَذْنَـٰهُ وَجُنُودَهُۥ فَنَبَذْنَـٰهُمْ فِى ٱلْيَمِّ وَهُوَ مُلِيمٌۭ
﴿٤١﴾
So We seized him and his soldiers and cast them into the sea, while he was blameworthy.
وَفِى عَادٍ إِذْ أَرْسَلْنَا عَلَيْهِمُ ٱلرِّيحَ ٱلْعَقِيمَ
﴿٤٢﴾
And [mention] ‘Aad, when We sent upon them a furious wind.
مَا تَذَرُ مِن شَىْءٍ أَتَتْ عَلَيْهِ إِلَّا جَعَلَتْهُ كَٱلرَّمِيمِ
﴿٤٣﴾
It leaves nothing but that it has made it like scattered ruins.
وَفِى ثَمُودَ إِذْ قِيلَ لَهُمْ تَمَتَّعُوا۟ حَتَّىٰ حِينٍۢ
﴿٤٤﴾
And [as for] Thamud, when it was said to them, 'Enjoy yourselves for a time.'
فَعَتَوْا۟ عَنْ أَمْرِ رَبِّهِمْ فَأَخَذَتْهُمُ ٱلصَّـٰعِقَةُ وَهُمْ يَنظُرُونَ
﴿٤٥﴾
But they transgressed against the command of their Lord, so the thunderbolt seized them while they were looking on.
فَمَا ٱسْتَطَـٰعُوا۟ مِن قِيَامٍۢ وَمَا كَانُوا۟ مُنتَصِرِينَ
﴿٤٦﴾
So they could not stand, nor were they saved.
وَقَوْمَ نُوحٍۢ مِّن قَبْلُ ۖ إِنَّهُمْ كَانُوا۟ قَوْمًۭا فَـٰسِقِينَ
﴿٤٧﴾
And [the people of] Noah before them; indeed they were a transgressing people.
وَٱلسَّمَآءَ بَنَيْنَـٰهَا بِأَيْي۟دٍۢ وَإِنَّا لَمُوسِعُونَ
﴿٤٨﴾
And the heaven We constructed with might, and indeed We are [its] expanders.
وَٱلْأَرْضَ فَرَشْنَـٰهَا فَنِعْمَ ٱلْمَـٰهِدُونَ
﴿٤٩﴾
And the earth We spread out, and how excellent We are in spreading!
وَمِن كُلِّ شَىْءٍ خَلَقْنَا زَوْجَيْنِ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَذَكَّرُونَ
﴿٥٠﴾
And of everything We created pairs, that you may remember.
فَفِرُّوٓا۟ إِلَى ٱللَّهِ ۖ إِنِّى لَكُم مِّنْهُ نذِيرٌۭ مُّبِينٌۭ
﴿٥١﴾
So flee to Allah; indeed I am to you from Him a clear warner.
وَلَا تَجْعَلُوا۟ مَعَ ٱللَّهِ إِلَـٰهًا ءَاخَرَ ۖ إِنِّى لَكُم مِّنْهُ نذِيرٌۭ مُّبِينٌۭ
﴿٥٢﴾
And do not set up with Allah another deity. Indeed I am to you from Him a clear warner.
كَذَٰلِكَ مَآ أَتَى ٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِهِم مِّن رَّسُولٍ إِلَّا قَالُوا۟ سَاحِرٌ أَوْ مَجْنُونٌ
﴿٥٣﴾
Thus did not come a messenger to those before them except that they said, 'A magician or a madman.'
أَتَوَاصَوْا۟ بِهِۦ ۚ بَلْ هُمْ قَوْمٌۭ طَاغُونَ
﴿٥٤﴾
Did they counsel one another about it? But they are a transgressing people.
فَتَوَلَّ عَنْهُمْ فَمَآ أَنتَ بِمَلُومٍۢ
﴿٥٥﴾
So turn away from them; indeed you are not at fault.
وَذَكِّرْ فَإِنَّ ٱلذِّكْرَىٰ تَنفَعُ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ
﴿٥٦﴾
And remind, for indeed the reminder benefits the believers.
وَمَا خَلَقْتُ ٱلْجِنَّ وَٱلْإِنسَ إِلَّا لِيَعْبُدُونِ
﴿٥٧﴾
And I did not create the jinn and mankind except to worship Me.
مَآ أُرِيدُ مِنْهُم مِّن رِّزْقٍۢ وَمَآ أُرِيدُ أَن يُطْعِمُونِ
﴿٥٨﴾
I do not desire from them any provision, nor do I desire that they should feed Me.
إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ هُوَ ٱلرَّزَّاقُ ذُو ٱلْقُوَّةِ ٱلْمَتِينُ
﴿٥٩﴾
Indeed, Allah is the Provider, the Possessor of Strength, the Firm.
فَإِنَّ لِلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا۟ ذَنُوبًۭا مِّثْلَ ذَنُوبِ أَصْحَـٰبِهِمْ فَلَا يَسْتَعْجِلُونِ
﴿٦٠﴾
So for those who wronged, there is a punishment like that of their predecessors; but they do not hasten [it].
فَوَيْلٌۭ لِّلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ مِن يَوْمِهِمُ ٱلَّذِى يُوعَدُونَ
﴿٦١﴾
So woe to those who disbelieve from the day they are promised.
