Surah 50 • 46 Verses • Arabic, English & Kiswahili

بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ ﴿١﴾
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
قٓ ۚ وَٱلْقُرْءَانِ ٱلْمَجِيدِ ﴿٢﴾
Qaf. By the honored Qur'an.
بَلْ عَجِبُوٓا۟ أَن جَآءَهُم مُّنذِرٌۭ مِّنْهُمْ فَقَالَ ٱلْكَـٰفِرُونَ هَـٰذَا شَىْءٌ عَجِيبٌ ﴿٣﴾
But they wonder that there has come to them a warner from among themselves; the disbelievers say, 'This is an amazing thing!'
أَءِذَا مِتْنَا وَكُنَّا تُرَابًۭا ۖ ذَٰلِكَ رَجْعٌۢ بَعِيدٌۭ ﴿٤﴾
When we have died and become dust, will we really be resurrected? That is a far return indeed.
قَدْ عَلِمْنَا مَا تَنقُصُ ٱلْأَرْضُ مِنْهُمْ ۖ وَعِندَنَا كِتَـٰبٌ حَفِيظٌۢ ﴿٥﴾
We know what the earth diminishes of them, and with Us is a preserving Record.
بَلْ كَذَّبُوا۟ بِٱلْحَقِّ لَمَّا جَآءَهُمْ فَهُمْ فِىٓ أَمْرٍۢ مَّرِيجٍ ﴿٦﴾
But they denied the truth when it came to them, and they are in a confused matter.
أَفَلَمْ يَنظُرُوٓا۟ إِلَى ٱلسَّمَآءِ فَوْقَهُمْ كَيْفَ بَنَيْنَـٰهَا وَزَيَّنَّـٰهَا وَمَا لَهَا مِن فُرُوجٍۢ ﴿٧﴾
Do they not look at the heaven above them – how We structured it and adorned it, and it has no fissures?
وَٱلْأَرْضَ مَدَدْنَـٰهَا وَأَلْقَيْنَا فِيهَا رَوَٰسِىَ وَأَنۢبَتْنَا فِيهَا مِن كُلِّ زَوْجٍۭ بَهِيجٍۢ ﴿٨﴾
And the earth We have spread out, and placed therein firm mountains, and produced therein every kind of pleasing pair.
تَبْصِرَةًۭ وَذِكْرَىٰ لِكُلِّ عَبْدٍۢ مُّنِيبٍۢ ﴿٩﴾
As a sign and a reminder for every devoted servant.
وَنَزَّلْنَا مِنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ مَآءًۭ مُّبَـٰرَكًۭا فَأَنۢبَتْنَا بِهِۦ جَنَّـٰتٍۢ وَحَبَّ ٱلْحَصِيدِ ﴿١٠﴾
And We sent down from the sky blessed water, and caused gardens and the grain to grow thereby.
وَٱلنَّخْلَ بَاسِقَـٰتٍۢ لَّهَا طَلْعٌۭ نَّضِيدٌۭ ﴿١١﴾
And lofty date-palms with stacked clusters.
رِّزْقًۭا لِّلْعِبَادِ ۖ وَأَحْيَيْنَا بِهِۦ بَلْدَةًۭ مَّيْتًۭا ۚ كَذَٰلِكَ ٱلْخُرُوجُ ﴿١٢﴾
Provision for the servants, and by it We revive a dead land. Likewise will be the resurrection.
كَذَّبَتْ قَبْلَهُمْ قَوْمُ نُوحٍۢ وَأَصْحَـٰبُ ٱلرَّسِّ وَثَمُودُ ﴿١٣﴾
Before them, the people of Noah, ‘Ad, and Thamud denied (the messengers).
وَعَادٌۭ وَفِرْعَوْنُ وَإِخْوَٰنُ لُوطٍۢ ﴿١٤﴾
And ‘Ad, Pharaoh, and the people of Lot.
وَأَصْحَـٰبُ ٱلْأَيْكَةِ وَقَوْمُ تُبَّعٍۢ ۚ كُلٌّۭ كَذَّبَ ٱلرُّسُلَ فَحَقَّ وَعِيدِ ﴿١٥﴾
And the people of the Grove and the people of Tubba'. Each denied the messengers, so My threat came true.
أَفَعَيِينَا بِٱلْخَلْقِ ٱلْأَوَّلِ ۚ بَلْ هُمْ فِى لَبْسٍۢ مِّنْ خَلْقٍۢ جَدِيدٍۢ ﴿١٦﴾
Are they not amazed at the creation of the first (human)? Yet they are in doubt about a new creation.
وَلَقَدْ خَلَقْنَا ٱلْإِنسَـٰنَ وَنَعْلَمُ مَا تُوَسْوِسُ بِهِۦ نَفْسُهُۥ ۖ وَنَحْنُ أَقْرَبُ إِلَيْهِ مِنْ حَبْلِ ٱلْوَرِيدِ ﴿١٧﴾
And We created man, and We know what his soul whispers to him; and We are nearer to him than his jugular vein.
إِذْ يَتَلَقَّى ٱلْمُتَلَقِّيَانِ عَنِ ٱلْيَمِينِ وَعَنِ ٱلشِّمَالِ قَعِيدٌۭ ﴿١٨﴾
When the two receivers receive, sitting on the right and on the left.
مَّا يَلْفِظُ مِن قَوْلٍ إِلَّا لَدَيْهِ رَقِيبٌ عَتِيدٌۭ ﴿١٩﴾
He does not utter a word except that there is a vigilant observer ready.
وَجَآءَتْ سَكْرَةُ ٱلْمَوْتِ بِٱلْحَقِّ ۖ ذَٰلِكَ مَا كُنتَ مِنْهُ تَحِيدُ ﴿٢٠﴾
And the throes of death will come with the truth; that is what you were trying to avoid.
وَنُفِخَ فِى ٱلصُّورِ ۚ ذَٰلِكَ يَوْمُ ٱلْوَعِيدِ ﴿٢١﴾
And the trumpet will be blown. That is the Day of the Threat.
وَجَآءَتْ كُلُّ نَفْسٍۢ مَّعَهَا سَآئِقٌۭ وَشَهِيدٌۭ ﴿٢٢﴾
And every soul will come, accompanied by a driver and a witness.
لَّقَدْ كُنتَ فِى غَفْلَةٍۢ مِّنْ هَـٰذَا فَكَشَفْنَا عَنكَ غِطَآءَكَ فَبَصَرُكَ ٱلْيَوْمَ حَدِيدٌۭ ﴿٢٣﴾
Indeed, you were heedless of this, but We have removed from you your cover, so your sight this day is sharp.
وَقَالَ قَرِينُهُۥ هَـٰذَا مَا لَدَىَّ عَتِيدٌ ﴿٢٤﴾
And his companion will say: 'This is what is firmly recorded with me.'
أَلْقِيَا فِى جَهَنَّمَ كُلَّ كَفَّارٍ عَنِيدٍۢ ﴿٢٥﴾
Throw into Hell every obstinate disbeliever.
مَّنَّاعٍۢ لِّلْخَيْرِ مُعْتَدٍۢ مُّرِيبٍ ﴿٢٦﴾
Who prevented good, transgressed, and doubted.
ٱلَّذِى جَعَلَ مَعَ ٱللَّهِ إِلَـٰهًا ءَاخَرَ فَأَلْقِيَاهُ فِى ٱلْعَذَابِ ٱلشَّدِيدِ ﴿٢٧﴾
Who made another god along with Allah, and throw him into severe punishment.
قَالَ قَرِينُهُۥ رَبَّنَا مَآ أَطْغَيْتُهُۥ وَلَـٰكِن كَانَ فِى ضَلَـٰلٍۭ بَعِيدٍۢ ﴿٢٨﴾
His companion will say: 'Our Lord, I did not make him transgress, but he was far astray.'
قَالَ لَا تَخْتَصِمُوا۟ لَدَىَّ وَقَدْ قَدَّمْتُ إِلَيْكُم بِٱلْوَعِيدِ ﴿٢٩﴾
Allah will say: 'Do not dispute before Me, for I have already presented the warning.'
مَا يُبَدَّلُ ٱلْقَوْلُ لَدَىَّ وَمَآ أَنَا۠ بِظَلَّـٰمٍۢ لِّلْعَبِيدِ ﴿٣٠﴾
Nothing will be changed of My words, and I am not unjust to the servants.
يَوْمَ نَقُولُ لِجَهَنَّمَ هَلِ ٱمْتَلَأْتِ وَتَقُولُ هَلْ مِن مَّزِيدٍۢ ﴿٣١﴾
On the Day We say to Hell, 'Are you filled?' It will say, 'Is there any more?'
وَأُزْلِفَتِ ٱلْجَنَّةُ لِلْمُتَّقِينَ غَيْرَ بَعِيدٍ ﴿٣٢﴾
And Paradise will be brought near for the righteous, not far off.
هَـٰذَا مَا تُوعَدُونَ لِكُلِّ أَوَّابٍ حَفِيظٍۢ ﴿٣٣﴾
This is what is promised for every returning, guarding soul.
مَّنْ خَشِىَ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنَ بِٱلْغَيْبِ وَجَآءَ بِقَلْبٍۢ مُّنِيبٍ ﴿٣٤﴾
Who fears the Most Merciful in secret and comes with a repentant heart.
ٱدْخُلُوهَا بِسَلَـٰمٍۢ ۖ ذَٰلِكَ يَوْمُ ٱلْخُلُودِ ﴿٣٥﴾
Enter it in peace; that is the Day of Eternity.
لَهُم مَّا يَشَآءُونَ فِيهَا وَلَدَيْنَا مَزِيدٌۭ ﴿٣٦﴾
They will have therein whatever they wish, and with Us is more.
وَكَمْ أَهْلَكْنَا قَبْلَهُم مِّن قَرْنٍ هُمْ أَشَدُّ مِنْهُم بَطْشًۭا فَنَقَّبُوا۟ فِى ٱلْبِلَـٰدِ هَلْ مِن مَّحِيصٍ ﴿٣٧﴾
And how many generations We destroyed before them who were mightier than them in power, and they roamed the lands—was there any place of escape?
إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَذِكْرَىٰ لِمَن كَانَ لَهُۥ قَلْبٌ أَوْ أَلْقَى ٱلسَّمْعَ وَهُوَ شَهِيدٌۭ ﴿٣٨﴾
Indeed in that is a reminder for whoever has a heart or listens while he is attentive.
وَلَقَدْ خَلَقْنَا ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضَ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا فِى سِتَّةِ أَيَّامٍۢ وَمَا مَسَّنَا مِن لُّغُوبٍۢ ﴿٣٩﴾
And We have created the heavens and the earth and whatever is between them in six days, and no fatigue touched Us.
فَٱصْبِرْ عَلَىٰ مَا يَقُولُونَ وَسَبِّحْ بِحَمْدِ رَبِّكَ قَبْلَ طُلُوعِ ٱلشَّمْسِ وَقَبْلَ ٱلْغُرُوبِ ﴿٤٠﴾
So be patient over what they say, and glorify your Lord with His praise before sunrise and before sunset.
وَمِنَ ٱلَّيْلِ فَسَبِّحْهُ وَأَدْبَـٰرَ ٱلسُّجُودِ ﴿٤١﴾
And during the night, glorify Him and at the ends of prostrations.
وَٱسْتَمِعْ يَوْمَ يُنَادِ ٱلْمُنَادِ مِن مَّكَانٍۢ قَرِيبٍۢ ﴿٤٢﴾
And listen on the Day the caller calls from a near place.
يَوْمَ يَسْمَعُونَ ٱلصَّيْحَةَ بِٱلْحَقِّ ۚ ذَٰلِكَ يَوْمُ ٱلْخُرُوجِ ﴿٤٣﴾
The Day they hear the blast with truth; that is the Day of Resurrection.
إِنَّا نَحْنُ نُحْىِۦ وَنُمِيتُ وَإِلَيْنَا ٱلْمَصِيرُ ﴿٤٤﴾
Indeed, it is We who give life and cause death, and to Us is the destination.
يَوْمَ تَشَقَّقُ ٱلْأَرْضُ عَنْهُمْ سِرَاعًۭا ۚ ذَٰلِكَ حَشْرٌ عَلَيْنَا يَسِيرٌۭ ﴿٤٥﴾
The Day the earth will split open for them suddenly; that is an easy gathering for Us.
نَّحْنُ أَعْلَمُ بِمَا يَقُولُونَ ۖ وَمَآ أَنتَ عَلَيْهِم بِجَبَّارٍۢ ۖ فَذَكِّرْ بِٱلْقُرْءَانِ مَن يَخَافُ وَعِيدِ ﴿٤٦﴾
We know best what they say, and you are not over them a tyrant; so remind with the Qur’an whoever fears My warning.
