Surah 77 • 51 Verses • Arabic, English & Kiswahili
بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
﴿١﴾
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
وَالْمُرْسَلَاتِ عُرْفًا
﴿٢﴾
By those sent forth in succession
فَٱلْعَـٰصِفَـٰتِ عَصْفًۭا
﴿٣﴾
By those [winds] that violently blow,
وَٱلنَّـٰشِرَٰتِ نَشْرًۭا
﴿٤﴾
And by those that scatter [things] far and wide,
فَٱلْفَـٰرِقَـٰتِ فَرْقًۭا
﴿٥﴾
And by those that separate [truth from falsehood],
فَٱلْمُلْقِيَـٰتِ ذِكْرًا
﴿٦﴾
And by those who deliver [the messages] in admonition,
عُذْرًا أَوْ نُذْرًا
﴿٧﴾
Excusing or warning
إِنَّمَا تُوعَدُونَ لَوَٰقِعٌۭ
﴿٨﴾
Indeed, that which you are promised is bound to occur.
فَإِذَا النُّجُومُ طُمِسَتْ
﴿٩﴾
So when the stars are extinguished,
وَإِذَا السَّمَاءُ فُرِجَتْ
﴿١٠﴾
And when the sky is torn apart,
وَإِذَا الْجِبَالُ نُسِفَتْ
﴿١١﴾
And when the mountains are blown away,
وَإِذَا الرُّسُلُ أُقِّتَتْ
﴿١٢﴾
And when the messengers are gathered to their time,
لِأَيِّ يَوْمٍ أُجِّلَتْ
﴿١٣﴾
For what Day are these signs postponed?
لِيَوْمِ الْفَصْلِ
﴿١٤﴾
For the Day of Decision.
وَمَآ أَدْرَىٰكَ مَا يَوْمُ ٱلْفَصْلِ
﴿١٥﴾
And what will make you know what the Day of Decision is?
وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِلْمُكَذِّبِينَ
﴿١٦﴾
Woe on that Day to the deniers!
أَلَمْ نُهْلِكِ الْأَوَّلِينَ
﴿١٧﴾
Did We not destroy the former peoples?
ثُمَّ نُتْبِعُهُمُ الْآخِرِينَ
﴿١٨﴾
Then We will follow them with the later ones.
كَذَٰلِكَ نَفْعَلُ بِالْمُجْرِمِينَ
﴿١٩﴾
This is how We deal with the wicked.
وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِلْمُكَذِّبِينَ
﴿٢٠﴾
Woe on that Day to the deniers!
أَلَمْ نَخْلُقْكُم مِّن مَّاءٍ مَّهِينٍ
﴿٢١﴾
Did We not create you from a humble fluid?
فَجَعَلْنَاهُ فِي قَرَارٍ مَّكِينٍ
﴿٢٢﴾
Then We placed it in a secure resting-place,
إِلَىٰ قَدَرٍ مَّعْلُومٍ
﴿٢٣﴾
For a known period (of time).
فَقَدَرْنَا فَنِعْمَ الْقَادِرُونَ
﴿٢٤﴾
We determined [it], and excellent [are We] to determine.
وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ
﴿٢٥﴾
Woe on that Day to the deniers!
أَلَمْ نَجْعَلِ الْأَرْضَ كِفَاتًا
﴿٢٦﴾
Have We not made the earth a container
أَحْيَآءًۭ وَأَمْوَٰتًۭا
﴿٢٧﴾
The living and the dead,
وَجَعَلْنَا فِيهَا رَوَٰسِىَ شَـٰمِخَـٰتٍۢ وَأَسْقَيْنَـٰكُم مَّآءًۭ فُرَاتًۭا
﴿٢٨﴾
And We placed in it lofty mountains and provided you with flowing water.
وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ
﴿٢٩﴾
Woe on that Day to the deniers!
انطَلِقُوا إِلَىٰ مَا كُنتُم بِهِ تُكَذِّبُونَ
﴿٣٠﴾
[It will be said], 'Proceed to that which you used to deny.'
انطَلِقُوا إِلَىٰ ظِلٍّ ذِي ثَلَاثِ شُعَبٍ
﴿٣١﴾
Proceed to a shadow [of smoke] having three columns.
لَّا ظَلِيلٍ وَلَا يُغْنِي مِنَ اللَّهَبِ
﴿٣٢﴾
No shade, and availing not against the flame.
إِنَّهَا تَرْمِي بِشَرَرٍ كَالْقَصْرِ
﴿٣٣﴾
Indeed, it throws sparks [as huge] as a fortress,
كَأَنَّهُۥ جِمَـٰلَتٌۭ صُفْرٌۭ
﴿٣٤﴾
As if they were yellow camels.
وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ
﴿٣٥﴾
Woe on that Day to the deniers!
هَٰذَا يَوْمُ لَا يَنطِقُونَ
﴿٣٦﴾
This is a Day they will not speak,
وَلَا يُؤْذَنُ لَهُمْ فَيَعْتَذِرُونَ
﴿٣٧﴾
Nor will it be permitted for them to make an excuse.
وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ
﴿٣٨﴾
Woe on that Day to the deniers!
هَٰذَا يَوْمُ الْفَصْلِ ۖ جَمَعْنَاكُمْ وَالْأَوَّلِينَ
﴿٣٩﴾
This is the Day of Judgment; We will have assembled you and the former peoples.
فَإِن كَانَ لَكُمْ كَيْدٌ فَكِيدُونِ
﴿٤٠﴾
So if you have a plan, then plan against Me.
وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ
﴿٤١﴾
Woe on that Day to the deniers!
إِنَّ ٱلْمُتَّقِينَ فِى ظِلَـٰلٍۢ وَعُيُونٍۢ
﴿٤٢﴾
Indeed, the righteous will be amid shades and springs,
وَفَوَاكِهَ مِمَّا يَشْتَهُونَ
﴿٤٣﴾
And fruits from whatever they desire,
كُلُوا وَاشْرَبُوا هَنِيئًا بِمَا كُنتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ
﴿٤٤﴾
Eat and drink in satisfaction for what you used to do.
إِنَّا كَذَٰلِكَ نَجْزِي الْمُحْسِنِينَ
﴿٤٥﴾
Indeed, this is how We reward the doers of good.
وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ
﴿٤٦﴾
Woe on that Day to the deniers!
كُلُوا وَتَمَتَّعُوا قَلِيلًا إِنَّكُم مُّجْرِمُونَ
﴿٤٧﴾
Eat and enjoy yourselves a little; indeed, you are criminals.
وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ
﴿٤٨﴾
Woe on that Day to the deniers!
وَإِذَا قِيلَ لَهُمُ ارْكَعُوا لَا يَرْكَعُونَ
﴿٤٩﴾
And when it is said to them, 'Bow [in prayer],' they do not bow.
وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ
﴿٥٠﴾
Woe on that Day to the deniers!
فَبِأَيِّ حَدِيثٍ بَعْدَهُ يُؤْمِنُونَ
﴿٥١﴾
Then in what statement after it will they believe?
