Surah 76 • 32 Verses • Arabic, English & Kiswahili
بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
﴿١﴾
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
هَلْ أَتَىٰ عَلَى الْإِنسَانِ حِينٌ مِّنَ الدَّهْرِ لَمْ يَكُن شَيْئًا مَّذْكُورًا
﴿٢﴾
Has there not been over Man a long period of Time, when he was nothing - (not even) mentioned?
إِنَّا خَلَقْنَا ٱلْإِنسَـٰنَ مِن نُّطْفَةٍ أَمْشَاجٍۢ نَّبْتَلِيهِ فَجَعَلْنَـٰهُ سَمِيعًۢا بَصِيرًا
﴿٣﴾
Indeed, We created man from a drop of mixed sperm to test him, and We made him hearing and seeing.
إِنَّا هَدَيْنَـٰهُ ٱلسَّبِيلَ إِمَّا شَاكِرًۭا وَإِمَّا كَفُورًا
﴿٤﴾
Indeed, We guided him to the way, whether he be grateful or ungrateful.
إِنَّآ أَعْتَدْنَا لِلْكَـٰفِرِينَ سَلَـٰسِلَا۟ وَأَغْلَـٰلًۭا وَسَعِيرًا
﴿٥﴾
Indeed, We have prepared for the disbelievers chains, shackles, and a blazing Fire.
إِنَّ الْأَبْرَارَ يَشْرَبُونَ مِن كَأْسٍ كَانَ مِزَاجُهَا كَافُورًا
﴿٦﴾
As to the Righteous, they shall drink of a Cup (of Wine) mixed with Kafur—
عَيْنًا يَشْرَبُ بِهَا عِبَادُ اللَّهِ يُفَجِّرُونَهَا تَفْجِيرًا
﴿٧﴾
A Fountain where the Devotees of Allah do drink, making it flow in unstinted abundance.
يُوفُونَ بِالنَّذْرِ وَيَخَافُونَ يَوْمًا كَانَ شَرُّهُ مُسْتَطِيرًا
﴿٨﴾
They fulfill (their) vows, and they fear a Day whose evil flies far and wide.
وَيُطْعِمُونَ الطَّعَامَ عَلَىٰ حُبِّهِ مِسْكِينًا وَيَتِيمًا وَأَسِيرًا
﴿٩﴾
And they feed, for the love of Allah, the indigent, the orphan, and the captive,—
إِنَّمَا نُطْعِمُكُمْ لِوَجْهِ اللَّهِ لَا نُرِيدُ مِنكُمْ جَزَاءً وَلَا شُكُورًا
﴿١٠﴾
Saying, 'We feed you for the sake of Allah alone: No reward do we desire from you, nor thanks.'
إِنَّا نَخَافُ مِن رَّبِّنَا يَوْمًا عَبُوسًا قَمْطَرِيرًا
﴿١١﴾
We only fear a Day of distressful Wrath from the side of our Lord.
فَوَقَاهُمُ اللَّهُ شَرَّ ذَٰلِكَ الْيَوْمِ وَلَقَّاهُمْ نَضْرَةً وَسُرُورًا
﴿١٢﴾
But Allah will deliver them from the evil of that Day, and will shed over them a Light of Beauty and a (blissful) Joy.
وَجَزَىٰهُم بِمَا صَبَرُوا۟ جَنَّةًۭ وَحَرِيرًۭا
﴿١٣﴾
And He will reward them for their patience with Paradise and silk [garments].
مُّتَّكِئِينَ فِيهَا عَلَى الْأَرَائِكِ ۖ لَا يَرَوْنَ فِيهَا شَمْسًا وَلَا زَمْهَرِيرًا
﴿١٤﴾
Reclining in the (Garden) on raised thrones, they will see there neither the sun's (excessive heat) nor (the moon's) bitter cold.
وَدَانِيَةً عَلَيْهِمْ ظِلَالُهَا وَذُلِّلَتْ قُطُوفُهَا تَذْلِيلًا
﴿١٥﴾
And the shades of the (Garden) will come low over them, and the bunches (of fruit), there, will hang low in humility.
وَيُطَافُ عَلَيْهِمْ بِآنِيَةٍ مِّن فِضَّةٍ وَأَكْوَابٍ كَانَتْ قَوَارِيرَا
﴿١٦﴾
And amongst them will be passed round vessels of silver and goblets of crystal,—
قَوَارِيرَا مِن فِضَّةٍ قَدَّرُوهَا تَقْدِيرًا
﴿١٧﴾
Crystal-clear, made of silver: they will determine the measure thereof (according to their wishes).
وَيُسْقَوْنَ فِيهَا كَأْسًا كَانَ مِزَاجُهَا زَنجَبِيلًا
﴿١٨﴾
And they will be given to drink there of a Cup (of Wine) mixed with Zanjabil,—
عَيْنًا فِيهَا تُسَمَّىٰ سَلْسَبِيلًا
﴿١٩﴾
A fountain there, called Salsabil.
وَيَطُوفُ عَلَيْهِمْ وِلْدَٰنٌۭ مُّخَلَّدُونَ إِذَا رَأَيْتَهُمْ حَسِبْتَهُمْ لُؤْلُؤًۭا مَّنثُورًۭا
﴿٢٠﴾
And there will circulate among them immortal youths. If you see them, you would think them scattered pearls.
وَإِذَا رَأَيْتَ ثَمَّ رَأَيْتَ نَعِيمًا وَمُلْكًا كَبِيرًا
﴿٢١﴾
And when you look, you will see bliss and a Realm Magnificent.
عَالِيَهُمْ ثِيَابُ سُندُسٍ خُضْرٌ وَإِسْتَبْرَقٌ ۖ وَحُلُّوا أَسَاوِرَ مِن فِضَّةٍ وَسَقَاهُمْ رَبُّهُمْ شَرَابًا طَهُورًا
﴿٢٢﴾
Upon them will be green garments of fine silk and heavy brocade, and they will be adorned with bracelets of silver; and their Lord will give them to drink of a wine pure and holy.
إِنَّ هَٰذَا كَانَ لَكُمْ جَزَاءً وَكَانَ سَعْيُكُم مَّشْكُورًا
﴿٢٣﴾
Verily this is a Reward for you, and your Endeavour is accepted and recognized.
إِنَّا نَحْنُ نَزَّلْنَا عَلَيْكَ الْقُرْآنَ تَنزِيلًا
﴿٢٤﴾
Indeed, it is We who have sent down to you, [O Muhammad], the Qur'an progressively.
فَاصْبِرْ لِحُكْمِ رَبِّكَ وَلَا تُطِعْ مِنْهُمْ آثِمًا أَوْ كَفُورًا
﴿٢٥﴾
So be patient for the decision of your Lord and do not obey from among them a sinner or ungrateful disbeliever.
وَاذْكُرِ اسْمَ رَبِّكَ بُكْرَةً وَأَصِيلًا
﴿٢٦﴾
And mention the name of your Lord in the morning and evening.
وَمِنَ اللَّيْلِ فَاسْجُدْ لَهُ وَسَبِّحْهُ لَيْلًا طَوِيلًا
﴿٢٧﴾
And during the night prostrate to Him and exalt Him a long [part of the] night.
إِنَّ هَٰؤُلَاءِ يُحِبُّونَ الْعَاجِلَةَ وَيَذَرُونَ وَرَاءَهُمْ يَوْمًا ثَقِيلًا
﴿٢٨﴾
Indeed, these [disbelievers] love the immediate and leave behind them a grave Day.
نَّحْنُ خَلَقْنَاهُمْ وَشَدَدْنَا أَسْرَهُمْ ۖ وَإِذَا شِئْنَا بَدَّلْنَا أَمْثَالَهُمْ تَبْدِيلًا
﴿٢٩﴾
It is We who created them and strengthened their forms, and when We will, We can replace them with others like them with a complete replacement.
إِنَّ هَٰذِهِ تَذْكِرَةٌ ۖ فَمَن شَاءَ اتَّخَذَ إِلَىٰ رَبِّهِ سَبِيلًا
﴿٣٠﴾
Indeed, this is a reminder, so he who wills may take to his Lord a way.
وَمَا تَشَاءُونَ إِلَّا أَن يَشَاءَ اللَّهُ ۚ إِنَّ اللَّهَ كَانَ عَلِيمًا حَكِيمًا
﴿٣١﴾
But you do not will except that Allah wills. Indeed, Allah is ever Knowing and Wise.
يُدْخِلُ مَن يَشَاءُ فِي رَحْمَتِهِ ۚ وَالظَّالِمِينَ أَعَدَّ لَهُمْ عَذَابًا أَلِيمًا
﴿٣٢﴾
He admits whom He wills into His mercy; but the wrongdoers - He has prepared for them a painful punishment.
