Surah 21 • 113 Verses • Arabic, English & Kiswahili
بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
﴿١﴾
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
ٱقْتَرَبَ لِلنَّاسِ حِسَابُهُمْ وَهُمْ فِى غَفْلَةٍۢ مُّعْرِضُونَ
﴿٢﴾
The time of their account has approached for the people, while they are in heedlessness turning away.
مَا يَأْتِيهِم مِّن ذِكْرٍۢ مِّن رَّبِّهِم مُّحْدَثٍ إِلَّا ٱسْتَمَعُوهُ وَهُمْ يَلْعَبُونَ
﴿٣﴾
No mention comes to them from their Lord except that they listen to it while they are at play.
لَاهِيَةًۭ قُلُوبُهُمْ ۗ وَأَسَرُّوا۟ ٱلنَّجْوَى ٱلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا۟ هَلْ هَـٰذَآ إِلَّا بَشَرٌۭ مِّثْلُكُمْ ۖ أَفَتَأْتُونَ ٱلسِّحْرَ وَأَنتُمْ تُبْصِرُونَ
﴿٤﴾
Their hearts distracted. And those who do wrong conceal their private counsel, saying, 'Is this anything but a man like yourselves? Will you follow magic while you can see?'
قَالَ رَبِّى يَعْلَمُ ٱلْقَوْلَ فِى ٱلسَّمَآءِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ ۖ وَهُوَ ٱلسَّمِيعُ ٱلْعَلِيمُ
﴿٥﴾
He said, 'My Lord knows what is said in the heavens and the earth, and He is the All-Hearing, All-Knowing.'
بَلْ قَالُوٓا۟ أَضْغَـٰثُ أَحْلَـٰمٍۭ بَلِ ٱفْتَرَىٰهُ بَلْ هُوَ شَاعِرٌۭ فَلْيَأْتِنَا بِـَٔايَةٍۢ كَمَآ أُرْسِلَ ٱلْأَوَّلُونَ
﴿٦﴾
But they said, 'These are confused dreams; rather, he has forged it; rather, he is a poet. Let him bring us a sign as was sent to those before.'
مَآ ءَامَنَتْ قَبْلَهُم مِّن قَرْيَةٍ أَهْلَكْنَـٰهَآ ۖ أَفَهُمْ يُؤْمِنُونَ
﴿٧﴾
No community believed before them from the towns We destroyed. Will they then believe?
وَمَآ أَرْسَلْنَا قَبْلَكَ إِلَّا رِجَالًۭا نُّوحِىٓ إِلَيْهِمْ ۖ فَسْـَٔلُوٓا۟ أَهْلَ ٱلذِّكْرِ إِن كُنتُمْ لَا تَعْلَمُونَ
﴿٨﴾
And We sent not before you except men to whom We revealed. So ask the people of the Reminder if you do not know.
وَمَا جَعَلْنَـٰهُمْ جَسَدًۭا لَّا يَأْكُلُونَ ٱلطَّعَامَ وَمَا كَانُوا۟ خَـٰلِدِينَ
﴿٩﴾
And We did not make them bodies that do not eat food, nor were they immortal.
ثُمَّ صَدَقْنَـٰهُمُ ٱلْوَعْدَ فَأَنجَيْنَـٰهُمْ وَمَن نَّشَآءُ وَأَهْلَكْنَا ٱلْمُسْرِفِينَ
﴿١٠﴾
Then We fulfilled Our promise to them, and We saved them and whoever We willed, and We destroyed the transgressors.
لَقَدْ أَنزَلْنَآ إِلَيْكُمْ كِتَـٰبًۭا فِيهِ ذِكْرُكُمْ ۖ أَفَلَا تَعْقِلُونَ
﴿١١﴾
Indeed, We have sent down to you a Book containing your mention. Will you not then understand?
وَكَمْ قَصَمْنَا مِن قَرْيَةٍ كَانَتْ ظَالِمَةًۭ وَأَنشَأْنَا بَعْدَهَا قَوْمًا ءَاخَرِينَ
﴿١٢﴾
And how many a town that was unjust did We break and raised after it another people.
فَلَمَّآ أَحَسُّوا۟ بَأْسَنَآ إِذَا هُم مِّنْهَا يَرْكُضُونَ
﴿١٣﴾
Then when they felt Our punishment, behold, they ran from it.
لَا تَرْكُضُوا۟ وَٱرْجِعُوٓا۟ إِلَىٰ مَآ أُتْرِفْتُمْ فِيهِ وَمَسَـٰكِنِكُمْ لَعَلَّكُمْ تُسْـَٔلُونَ
﴿١٤﴾
Do not run away, but return to what you were given luxury in and to your dwellings so you may be questioned.
قَالُوا۟ يَـٰوَيْلَنَآ إِنَّا كُنَّا ظَـٰلِمِينَ
﴿١٥﴾
They said, 'Alas for us! Indeed, we were wrongdoers.'
فَمَا زَالَت تِّلْكَ دَعْوَىٰهُمْ حَتَّىٰ جَعَلْنَـٰهُمْ حَصِيدًا خَـٰمِدِينَ
﴿١٦﴾
And their claim remained not until We made them harvest, lifeless and still.
وَمَا خَلَقْنَا ٱلسَّمَآءَ وَٱلْأَرْضَ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا لَـٰعِبِينَ
﴿١٧﴾
And We did not create the heavens and the earth and all that is between them in play.
لَوْ أَرَدْنَآ أَن نَّتَّخِذَ لَهْوًۭا لَّٱتَّخَذْنَـٰهُ مِن لَّدُنَّآ إِن كُنَّا فَـٰعِلِينَ
﴿١٨﴾
Had We intended to take amusement, We could have taken it from Us if We willed.
بَلْ نَقْذِفُ بِٱلْحَقِّ عَلَى ٱلْبَـٰطِلِ فَيَدْمَغُهُۥ فَإِذَا هُوَ زَاهِقٌۭ ۚ وَلَكُمُ ٱلْوَيْلُ مِمَّا تَصِفُونَ
﴿١٩﴾
Rather, We cast the truth upon falsehood, and it crushes it, and behold, it vanishes. And woe to you for what you describe.
وَلَهُۥ مَن فِى ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ ۚ وَمَنْ عِندَهُۥ لَا يَسْتَكْبِرُونَ عَنْ عِبَادَتِهِۦ وَلَا يَسْتَحْسِرُونَ
﴿٢٠﴾
To Him belongs whoever is in the heavens and the earth; and those near Him do not disdain His worship nor tire of it.
يُسَبِّحُونَ ٱلَّيْلَ وَٱلنَّهَارَ لَا يَفْتُرُونَ
﴿٢١﴾
They exalt Him night and day without ceasing.
أَمِ ٱتَّخَذُوٓا۟ ءَالِهَةًۭ مِّنَ ٱلْأَرْضِ هُمْ يُنشِرُونَ
﴿٢٢﴾
Or have they taken gods from the earth, spreading (idols) there?
لَوْ كَانَ فِيهِمَآ ءَالِهَةٌ إِلَّا ٱللَّهُ لَفَسَدَتَا ۚ فَسُبْحَـٰنَ ٱللَّهِ رَبِّ ٱلْعَرْشِ عَمَّا يَصِفُونَ
﴿٢٣﴾
If there were within them other gods besides Allah, then both would have been ruined. Glory be to Allah, Lord of the Throne, far above what they describe.
لَا يُسْـَٔلُ عَمَّا يَفْعَلُ وَهُمْ يُسْـَٔلُونَ
﴿٢٤﴾
He is not questioned about what He does, but they will be questioned.
أَمِ ٱتَّخَذُوا۟ مِن دُونِهِۦٓ ءَالِهَةًۭ ۖ قُلْ هَاتُوا۟ بُرْهَـٰنَكُمْ ۖ هَـٰذَا ذِكْرُ مَن مَّعِىَ وَذِكْرُ مَن قَبْلِى ۗ بَلْ أَكْثَرُهُمْ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ ٱلْحَقَّ ۖ فَهُم مُّعْرِضُونَ
﴿٢٥﴾
Or have they taken gods besides Him? Say, 'Bring your proof. This is the Reminder for those with me and the Reminder for those before me.' But most of them do not know the truth, so they turn away.
وَمَآ أَرْسَلْنَا مِن قَبْلِكَ مِن رَّسُولٍ إِلَّا نُوحِىٓ إِلَيْهِ أَنَّهُۥ لَآ إِلَـٰهَ إِلَّآ أَنَا۠ فَٱعْبُدُونِ
﴿٢٦﴾
And We sent not before you any messenger except that We revealed to him: 'There is no deity except Me, so worship Me.'
وَقَالُوا۟ اتَّخَذَ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنُ وَلَدًۭا ۗ سُبْحَـٰنَهُۥ ۚ بَلْ عِبَادٌۭ مُّكْرَمُونَ
﴿٢٧﴾
And they say, 'The Most Merciful has taken a son.' Exalted is He! Rather, they are honored servants.
لَا يَسْبِقُونَهُۥ بِٱلْقَوْلِ وَهُم بِأَمْرِهِۦ يَعْمَلُونَ
﴿٢٨﴾
They do not precede Him in speech, and they act by His command.
يَعْلَمُ مَا بَيْنَ أَيْدِيهِمْ وَمَا خَلْفَهُمْ وَلَا يَشْفَعُونَ إِلَّا لِمَنِ ٱرْتَضَىٰ وَهُم مِّنْ خَشْيَتِهِۦ مُشْفِقُونَ
﴿٢٩﴾
He knows what is before them and what is behind them, and they do not intercede except for whom He approves, and they fear Him.
وَمَن يَقُلْ مِنْهُمْ إِنِّىٓ إِلَـٰهٌۭ مِّن دُونِهِۦ فَذَٰلِكَ نَجْزِيهِ جَهَنَّمَ ۚ كَذَٰلِكَ نَجْزِى ٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَ
﴿٣٠﴾
And whoever among them says, 'I am a god besides Him,' We will recompense him with Hell; thus do We recompense the wrongdoers.
أَوَلَمْ يَرَ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوٓا۟ أَنَّ ٱلسَّمَآوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضَ كَانَتَا رَتْقًۭا فَفَتَقْنَـٰهُمَا ۖ وَجَعَلْنَا مِنَ ٱلْمَآءِ كُلَّ شَىْءٍ حَىٍّ ۖ أَفَلَا يُؤْمِنُونَ
﴿٣١﴾
Do not those who disbelieve see that the heavens and the earth were a joined entity, and We separated them and made from water every living thing? Then will they not believe?
وَجَعَلْنَا فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ رَوَٰسِىَ أَن تَمِيدَ بِهِمْ وَجَعَلْنَا فِيهَا فِجَاجًۭا سُبُلًۭا لَّعَلَّهُمْ يَهْتَدُونَ
﴿٣٢﴾
And We placed firm mountains on the earth so that it would not shake with them, and We made in it pathways so that they might be guided.
وَجَعَلْنَا ٱلسَّمَآءَ سَقْفًۭا مَّحْفُوظًۭا ۖ وَهُمْ عَنْ ءَايَـٰتِهَا مُعْرِضُونَ
﴿٣٣﴾
And We made the sky a protected ceiling, yet they turn away from its signs.
وَهُوَ ٱلَّذِى خَلَقَ ٱلَّيْلَ وَٱلنَّهَارَ وَٱلشَّمْسَ وَٱلْقَمَرَ ۖ كُلٌّۭ فِى فَلَكٍ يَسْبَحُونَ
﴿٣٤﴾
And He it is Who created the night and the day, and the sun and the moon; each swimming in an orbit.
وَمَا جَعَلْنَا لِبَشَرٍۢ مِّن قَبْلِكَ ٱلْخُلْدَ ۖ أَفَإِي۟ن مِّتَّ فَهُمُ ٱلْخَـٰلِدُونَ
﴿٣٥﴾
And We did not grant any human before you immortality; so if you die, will they be immortal?
كُلُّ نَفْسٍۢ ذَآئِقَةُ ٱلْمَوْتِ ۗ وَنَبْلُوكُم بِٱلشَّرِّ وَٱلْخَيْرِ فِتْنَةًۭ ۖ وَإِلَيْنَا تُرْجَعُونَ
﴿٣٦﴾
Every soul shall taste death; and We test you with evil and good as trial; and to Us you will be returned.
وَإِذَا رَءَاكَ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوٓا۟ إِن يَتَّخِذُونَكَ إِلَّا هُزُوًا أَهَـٰذَا ٱلَّذِى يَذْكُرُ ءَالِهَتَكُمْ وَهُم بِذِكْرِ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ هُمْ كَـٰفِرُونَ
﴿٣٧﴾
And when those who disbelieve see you, they take you only in mockery, saying, 'Is this the one who mentions your gods?' Yet they disbelieve in the Most Merciful's remembrance.
خُلِقَ ٱلْإِنسَـٰنُ مِنْ عَجَلٍۢ ۚ سَأُو۟رِيكُمْ ءَايَـٰتِى فَلَا تَسْتَعْجِلُونِ
﴿٣٨﴾
Man was created of haste. I will show you My signs, so do not be impatient.
وَيَقُولُونَ مَتَىٰ هَـٰذَا ٱلْوَعْدُ إِن كُنتُمْ صَـٰدِقِينَ
﴿٣٩﴾
And they say, 'When will this promise be fulfilled if you are truthful?'
لَوْ يَعْلَمُ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ حِينَ لَا يَكُفُّونَ عَن وُجُوهِهِمُ ٱلنَّارَ وَلَا عَن ظُهُورِهِمْ وَلَا هُمْ يُنصَرُونَ
﴿٤٠﴾
If only those who disbelieve knew, when they cannot avert the fire from their faces nor from their backs, and they will not be helped.
بَلْ تَأْتِيهِم بَغْتَةًۭ فَتَبْهَتُهُمْ فَلَا يَسْتَطِيعُونَ رَدَّهَا وَلَا هُمْ يُنظَرُونَ
﴿٤١﴾
But it will come to them suddenly, and it will confound them, so they cannot repel it, nor will they be reprieved.
وَلَقَدِ ٱسْتُهْزِئَ بِرُسُلٍۢ مِّن قَبْلِكَ فَحَاقَ بِٱلَّذِينَ سَخِرُوا۟ مِنْهُم مَّا كَانُوا۟ بِهِۦ يَسْتَهْزِءُونَ
﴿٤٢﴾
And indeed messengers before you were mocked, and it encompassed those who mocked them what they used to ridicule.
قُلْ مَن يَكْلَؤُكُم بِٱلَّيْلِ وَٱلنَّهَارِ مِنَ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ۗ بَلْ هُمْ عَن ذِكْرِ رَبِّهِم مُّعْرِضُونَ
﴿٤٣﴾
Say, 'Who protects you by night and by day from the Most Merciful?' But they turn away from the remembrance of their Lord.
أَمْ لَهُمْ ءَالِهَةٌۭ تَمْنَعُهُم مِّن دُونِنَا ۚ لَا يَسْتَطِيعُونَ نَصْرَ أَنفُسِهِمْ وَلَا هُم مِّنَّا يُصْحَبُونَ
﴿٤٤﴾
Or do they have gods who can protect them besides Us? They cannot even help themselves, nor will they be helped from Us.
بَلْ مَتَّعْنَا هَـٰٓؤُلَآءِ وَءَابَآءَهُمْ حَتَّىٰ طَالَ عَلَيْهِمُ ٱلْعُمُرُ ۗ أَفَلَا يَرَوْنَ أَنَّا نَأْتِى ٱلْأَرْضَ نَنقُصُهَا مِنْ أَطْرَافِهَآ ۚ أَفَهُمُ ٱلْغَـٰلِبُونَ
﴿٤٥﴾
But We have given enjoyment to these and their forefathers until their life prolonged; will they not then see that We gradually reduce the land from its outskirts? Then will they be victorious?
قُلْ إِنَّمَآ أُنذِرُكُم بِٱلْوَحْىِ ۚ وَلَا يَسْمَعُ ٱلصُّمُّ ٱلدُّعَآءَ إِذَا مَا يُنذَرُونَ
﴿٤٦﴾
Say, 'I am only a warner by revelation.' But the deaf do not hear the call when they are warned.
وَلَئِن مَّسَّتْهُمْ نَفْحَةٌۭ مِّنْ عَذَابِ رَبِّكَ لَيَقُولُنَّ يَـٰوَيْلَنَآ إِنَّا كُنَّا ظَـٰلِمِينَ
﴿٤٧﴾
And if a touch of the punishment of your Lord afflicts them, they will say, 'O woe to us! Indeed, we were wrongdoers.'
وَنَضَعُ ٱلْمَوَٰزِينَ ٱلْقِسْطَ لِيَوْمِ ٱلْقِيَـٰمَةِ فَلَا تُظْلَمُ نَفْسٌۭ شَيْـًۭٔا ۖ وَإِن كَانَ مِثْقَالَ حَبَّةٍۢ مِّنْ خَرْدَلٍ أَتَيْنَا بِهَا ۗ وَكَفَىٰ بِنا حَـٰسِبِينَ
﴿٤٨﴾
And We will set up the scales of justice for the Day of Resurrection, so that no soul will be treated unjustly; even if it be the weight of a mustard seed, We will bring it. And sufficient are We as Reckoners.
وَلَقَدْ ءَاتَيْنَا مُوسَىٰ وَهَـٰرُونَ ٱلْفُرْقَانَ وَضِيَآءًۭ وَذِكْرًۭا لِّلْمُتَّقِينَ
﴿٤٩﴾
And We gave Moses and Aaron the Criterion (Furqan) and a light and a reminder for the righteous.
ٱلَّذِينَ يَخْشَوْنَ رَبَّهُم بِٱلْغَيْبِ وَهُم مِّنَ ٱلسَّاعَةِ مُشْفِقُونَ
﴿٥٠﴾
Those who fear their Lord in the unseen and are apprehensive of the Hour.
وَهَـٰذَا ذِكْرٌۭ مُّبَارَكٌ أَنزَلْنَـٰهُ ۚ أَفَأَنتُمْ لَهُۥ مُنكِرُونَ
﴿٥١﴾
And this is a blessed Reminder which We have sent down; so are you deniers of it?
وَلَقَدْ ءَاتَيْنَآ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ رُشْدَهُۥ مِن قَبْلُ وَكُنَّا بِهِۦ عَـٰلِمِينَ
﴿٥٢﴾
And We certainly gave Abraham guidance before, and We were of him well aware.
إِذْ قَالَ لِأَبِيهِ وَقَوْمِهِۦ مَا هَـٰذِهِ ٱلتَّمَاثِيلُ ٱلَّتِىٓ أَنتُمْ لَهَا عَـٰكِفُونَ
﴿٥٣﴾
When he said to his father and his people, 'What are these statues to which you are devoted?'
قَالُوا۟ وَجَدْنَآ ءَابَآءَنَا لَهَا عَـٰبِدِينَ
﴿٥٤﴾
They said, 'We found our fathers worshipping them.'
قَالَ لَقَدْ كُنتُمْ أَنتُمْ وَءَابَآؤكُمْ فِى ضَلَـٰلٍۢ مُّبِينٍۢ
﴿٥٥﴾
He said, 'Indeed, you and your fathers have been in manifest error.'
قَالُوٓا۟ أَجِئْتَنَا بِٱلْحَقِّ أَمْ أَنتَ مِنَ ٱللَّـٰعِبِينَ
﴿٥٦﴾
They said, 'Have you come to us with truth, or are you one of the jesters?'
قَالَ بَل رَّبُّكُمْ رَبُّ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ ٱلَّذِى فَطَرَهُنَّ وَأَنَا۠ عَلَىٰ ذَٰلِكُم مِّنَ ٱلشَّـٰهِدِينَ
﴿٥٧﴾
He said, 'No, but your Lord is the Lord of the heavens and the earth, Who created them; and I am a witness over this.'
وَتَٱللَّهِ لَأَكِيدَنَّ أَصْنَـٰمَكُمْ بَعْدَ أَن تُوَلُّوا۟ مُدْبِرِينَ
﴿٥٨﴾
And by Allah, I will surely plot against your idols after you turn your backs.
فَجَعَلَهُمْ جُذَٰذًا إِلَّا كَبِيرًۭا لَّهُمْ لَعَلَّهُمْ إِلَيْهِ يَرْجِعُونَ
﴿٥٩﴾
So he smashed them all except the largest, so that they might return to it.
قَالُوا۟ مَن فَعَلَ هَـٰذَا بِـَٔالِهَتِنَآ إِنَّهُۥ لَمِنَ ٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَ
﴿٦٠﴾
They said, 'Who has done this to our gods? Truly, he is one of the wrongdoers.'
قَالُوا۟ سَمِعْنَا فَتًۭى يَذْكُرُهُمْ يُقَالُ لَهُۥٓ إِبْرَٰهِيمُ
﴿٦١﴾
They said, 'We heard a youth mentioning them. They said, It is Abraham.'
قَالُوا۟ فَأْتُوا۟ بِهِۦ عَلَىٰٓ أَعْيُنِ ٱلنَّاسِ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَشْهَدُونَ
﴿٦٢﴾
They said, 'Bring him before the eyes of the people, that they may bear witness.'
قَالُوٓا۟ ءَأَنتَ فَعَلْتَ هَـٰذَا بِـَٔالِهَتِنَا يَـٰٓإِبْرَٰهِيمُ
﴿٦٣﴾
They said, 'Did you do this to our gods, O Abraham?'
قَالَ بَلْ فَعَلَهُۥ كَبِيرُهُمْ هَـٰذَا فَسْـَٔلُوهُمْ إِن كَانُوا۟ يَنطِقُونَ
﴿٦٤﴾
He said, 'No, but the largest of them did it; ask them if they can speak.'
فَرَجَعُوٓا۟ إِلَىٰٓ أَنفُسِهِمْ فَقَالُوٓا۟ إِنَّكُمْ أَنتُمُ ٱلظَّـٰلِمُونَ
﴿٦٥﴾
So they returned to themselves and said, 'Indeed, you are the wrongdoers.'
ثُمَّ نُكِسُوا۟ عَلَىٰ رُءُوسِهِمْ لَقَدْ عَلِمْتَ مَا هَـٰٓؤُلَآءِ يَنطِقُونَ
﴿٦٦﴾
Then they were overthrown upon their heads; indeed, you see that they cannot speak.
قَالَ أَفَتَعْبُدُونَ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ مَا لَا يَنفَعُكُمْ شَيْـًۭٔا وَلَا يَضُرُّكُمْ
﴿٦٧﴾
He said, 'Do you worship besides Allah that which does not benefit you at all nor harm you?'
أُفٍّۢ لَّكُمْ وَلِمَا تَعْبُدُونَ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ ۖ أَفَلَا تَعْقِلُونَ
﴿٦٨﴾
How wretched you and what you worship besides Allah! Will you not reason?
قَالُوا۟ حَرِّقُوهُ وَٱنصُرُوٓا۟ ءَالِهَتَكُمْ إِن كُنتُمْ فَـٰعِلِينَ
﴿٦٩﴾
They said, 'Burn him and help your gods if you are to act.'
قُلْنَا يَـٰنَارُ كُونِى بَرْدًۭا وَسَلَـٰمًا عَلَىٰٓ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ
﴿٧٠﴾
We said, 'O fire, be coolness and safety for Abraham.'
وَأَرَادُوا۟ بِهِۦ كَيْدًۭا فَجَعَلْنَـٰهُمُ ٱلْأَخْسَرِينَ
﴿٧١﴾
And they intended for him a plot, but We made them the greatest losers.
وَنَجَّيْنَـٰهُ وَلُوطًا إِلَى ٱلْأَرْضِ ٱلَّتِى بَـٰرَكْنَا فِيهَا لِلْعَـٰلَمِينَ
﴿٧٢﴾
And We saved him and Lot to the land which We have blessed for the worlds.
وَوَهَبْنَا لَهُۥٓ إِسْحَـٰقَ وَيَعْقُوبَ نَافِلَةًۭ ۖ وَكُلًّۭا جَعَلْنَا صَـٰلِحِينَ
﴿٧٣﴾
And We granted him Isaac and Jacob as a gift, and each of them We made righteous.
وَجَعَلْنَـٰهُمْ أَئِمَّةًۭ يَهْدُونَ بِأَمْرِنَا وَأَوْحَيْنَآ إِلَيْهِمْ فِعْلَ ٱلْخَيْرَٰتِ وَإِقَامَ ٱلصَّلَوٰةِ وَإِيتَآءَ ٱلزَّكَوٰةِ ۖ وَكَانُوا۟ لَنَا عَـٰبِدِينَ
﴿٧٤﴾
And We made them leaders guiding by Our command, and We inspired them to do good deeds, establish prayer, and give zakah, and they were devoted to Us.
وَلُوطًا ءَاتَيْنَـٰهُ حُكْمًۭا وَعِلْمًۭا وَنَجَّيْنَـٰهُ مِنَ ٱلْقَرْيَةِ ٱلَّتِى كَانَت تَّعْمَلُ ٱلْخَبَـٰٓئِثَ ۗ إِنَّهُمْ كَانُوا۟ قَوْمَ سَوْءٍۢ فَـٰسِقِينَ
﴿٧٥﴾
And Lot, We gave him judgment and knowledge, and We saved him from the city that was committing abominations; indeed they were an evil and sinful people.
وَأَدْخَلْنَـٰهُ فِى رَحْمَتِنَآ ۖ إِنَّهُۥ مِنَ ٱلصَّـٰلِحِينَ
﴿٧٦﴾
And We admitted him into Our mercy; indeed he was among the righteous.
وَنُوحًا إِذْ نَادَىٰ مِن قَبْلُ فَٱسْتَجَبْنَا لَهُۥ فَنَجَّيْنَـٰهُ وَأَهْلَهُۥ مِنَ ٱلْكَرْبِ ٱلْعَظِيمِ
﴿٧٧﴾
And Noah, when he called before, We responded to him and saved him and his family from the great distress.
وَنَصَرْنَـٰهُ مِنَ ٱلْقَوْمِ ٱلَّذِينَ كَذَّبُوا۟ بِـَٔايَـٰتِنَآ ۚ إِنَّهُمْ كَانُوا۟ قَوْمَ سَوْءٍۢ فَأَغْرَقْنَـٰهُمْ أَجْمَعِينَ
﴿٧٨﴾
And We helped him against the people who denied Our signs; indeed they were an evil people, so We drowned them all.
وَدَاوُۥدَ وَسُلَيْمَـٰنَ إِذْ يَحْكُمَانِ فِى ٱلْحَرْثِ إِذْ نَفَشَتْ فِيهِ غَنَمُ ٱلْقَوْمِ وَكُنَّا لِحُكْمِهِمْ شَـٰهِدِينَ
﴿٧٩﴾
And David and Solomon, when they judged concerning the field, when the sheep of the people had strayed, and We were witnesses to their judgment.
فَفَهَّمْنَـٰهَا سُلَيْمَـٰنَ ۚ وَكُلًّا ءَاتَيْنَا حُكْمًۭا وَعِلْمًۭا ۚ وَسَخَّرْنَا مَعَ دَاوُۥدَ ٱلْجِبَالَ يُسَبِّحْنَ وَٱلطَّيْرَ ۚ وَكُنَّا فَـٰعِلِينَ
﴿٨٠﴾
And We taught Solomon the understanding of it; and each of them We gave judgment and knowledge, and We subjected the mountains to David to glorify Us along with the birds, and We were doers of it.
وَعَلَّمْنَـٰهُ صَنْعَةَ لَبُوسٍۢ لَّكُمْ لِتُحْصِنَكُم مِّنۢ بَأْسِكُمْ ۖ فَهَلْ أَنتُمْ شَـٰكِرُونَ
﴿٨١﴾
And We taught him the making of coats of armor to protect you from your violence. Will you then be grateful?
وَلِسُلَيْمَـٰنَ ٱلرِّيحَ عَاصِفَةًۭ تَجْرِى بِأَمْرِهِۦٓ إِلَى ٱلْأَرْضِ ٱلَّتِى بَـٰرَكْنَا فِيهَا ۚ وَكُنَّا بِكُلِّ شَىْءٍ عَـٰلِمِينَ
﴿٨٢﴾
And to Solomon, the winds were made subservient, running by his command to the land We had blessed. And We are all-knowing of everything.
وَمِنَ ٱلشَّيَـٰطِينِ مَن يَغُوصُونَ لَهُۥ وَيَعْمَلُونَ عَمَلًۭا دُونَ ذَٰلِكَ ۖ وَكُنَّا لَهُمْ حَـٰفِظِينَ
﴿٨٣﴾
And among the devils were those who dived for him and did other work besides that, and We were keeping guard over them.
وَأَيُّوبَ إِذْ نَادَىٰ رَبَّهُۥٓ أَنِّى مَسَّنِىَ ٱلضُّرُّ وَأَنتَ أَرْحَمُ ٱلرَّٰحِمِينَ
﴿٨٤﴾
And [mention] Job, when he called to his Lord, 'Indeed, adversity has touched me, and You are the Most Merciful of the merciful.'
فَٱسْتَجَبْنَا لَهُۥ فَكَشَفْنَا مَا بِهِۦ مِن ضُرٍّۢ ۖ وَءَاتَيْنَـٰهُ أَهْلَهُۥ وَمِثْلَهُم مَّعَهُمْ رَحْمَةًۭ مِّنْ عِندِنَا وَذِكْرَىٰ لِلْعَـٰبِدِينَ
﴿٨٥﴾
So We responded to him and removed what afflicted him of distress, and We gave him his family and the like with them as mercy from Us and a reminder for the worshippers.
وَإِسْمَـٰعِيلَ وَإِدْرِيسَ وَذَا ٱلْكِفْلِ ۖ كُلٌّۭ مِّنَ ٱلصَّـٰبِرِينَ
﴿٨٦﴾
And [We made] Ishmael, Idris, and Dhul-Kifl, all of them were patient.
وَأَدْخَلْنَـٰهُمْ فِى رَحْمَتِنَآ ۖ إِنَّهُم مِّنَ ٱلصَّـٰلِحِينَ
﴿٨٧﴾
And We admitted them into Our mercy; indeed they were of the righteous.
وَذَا ٱلنُّونِ إِذ ذَهَبَ مُغَـٰضِبًۭا فَظَنَّ أَن لَّن نَّقْدِرَ عَلَيْهِ فَنَادَىٰ فِى ٱلظُّلُمَـٰتِ أَن لَّآ إِلَـٰهَ إِلَّآ أَنتَ سُبْحَـٰنَكَ إِنِّى كُنتُ مِنَ ٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَ
﴿٨٨﴾
And [mention] Dhul-Nun (Jonah), when he went off in anger and thought We would not decree anything upon him, and he called out in the darkness, 'There is no deity except You; exalted are You. Indeed, I have been of the wrongdoers.'
فَٱسْتَجَبْنَا لَهُۥ وَنَجَّيْنَـٰهُ مِنَ ٱلْغَمِّ ۚ وَكَذَٰلِكَ نُـۨجِى ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ
﴿٨٩﴾
So We responded to him and saved him from distress. And thus do We save the believers.
وَزَكَرِيَّآ إِذْ نَادَىٰ رَبَّهُۥ رَبِّ لَا تَذَرْنِى فَرْدًۭا وَأَنتَ خَيْرُ ٱلْوَٰرِثِينَ
﴿٩٠﴾
And Zechariah, when he called to his Lord, 'My Lord, do not leave me alone and You are the best of inheritors.'
فَٱسْتَجَبْنَا لَهُۥ وَوَهَبْنَا لَهُۥ يَحْيَىٰ وَأَصْلَحْنَا لَهُۥ زَوْجَهُۥٓ ۚ إِنَّهُمْ كَانُوا۟ يُسَـٰرِعُونَ فِى ٱلْخَيْرَٰتِ وَيَدْعُونَنَا رَغَبًۭا وَرَهَبًۭا ۖ وَكَانُوا۟ لَنَا خَـٰشِعِينَ
﴿٩١﴾
So We responded to him and granted him John (Yahya), and made his wife righteous. They used to hasten to good deeds and call upon Us with desire and fear, and they were humble before Us.
وَٱلَّتِىٓ أَحْصَنَتْ فَرْجَهَا فَنَفَخْنَا فِيهَا مِن رُّوحِنَا وَجَعَلْنَـٰهَا وَٱبْنَهَآ ءَايَةًۭ لِّلْعَـٰلَمِينَ
﴿٩٢﴾
And [the one] who guarded her chastity, We breathed into her of Our spirit, and We made her and her son a sign for the worlds.
إِنَّ هَـٰذِهِۦٓ أُمَّتُكُمْ أُمَّةًۭ وَٰحِدَةًۭ وَأَنَا۠ رَبُّكُمْ فَٱعْبُدُونِ
﴿٩٣﴾
Indeed, this is your nation, a single nation, and I am your Lord, so worship Me.
وَتَقَطَّعُوٓا۟ أَمْرَهُم بَيْنَهُمْ ۖ كُلٌّ إلَيْنَا رَٰجِعُونَ
﴿٩٤﴾
And they divided their affair among themselves; but all will return to Us.
فَمَن يَعْمَلْ مِنَ ٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتِ وَهُوَ مُؤْمِنٌۭ فَلَا كُفْرَانَ لِسَعْيِهِۦ وَإِنَّا لَهُۥ كَـٰتِبُونَ
﴿٩٥﴾
So whoever does righteous deeds while being a believer, no denial of his effort will there be, and We will record it for him.
وَحَرَٰمٌ عَلَىٰ قَرْيَةٍ أَهْلَكْنَـٰهَآ أَنَّهُمْ لَا يَرْجِعُونَ
﴿٩٦﴾
And it is forbidden for a town which We destroyed that they should return.
حَتَّىٰٓ إِذَا فُتِحَتْ يَأْجُوجُ وَمَأْجُوجُ وَهُم مِّن كُلِّ حَدَبٍۢ يَنسِلُونَ
﴿٩٧﴾
Until when Gog and Magog are let loose, and they will swiftly surge from every highland.
وَٱقْتَرَبَ ٱلْوَعْدُ ٱلْحَقُّ فَإِذَا هِىَ شَـٰخِصَةٌ أَبْصَـٰرُ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ يَـٰوَيْلَنَا قَدْ كُنَّا فِى غَفْلَةٍۢ مِّنْ هَـٰذَا بَلْ كُنَّا ظَـٰلِمِينَ
﴿٩٨﴾
And the true promise approached, so behold! the eyes of those who disbelieved fixed in horror: 'Woe to us! We were heedless of this; nay, we were wrongdoers.'
إِنَّكُمْ وَمَا تَعْبُدُونَ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ حَصَبُ جَهَنَّمَ أَنتُمْ لَهَا وَٰرِدُونَ
﴿٩٩﴾
Indeed, you and what you worship besides Allah are fuel for Hell; you will enter it.
لَوْ كَانَ هَـٰٓؤُلَآءِ ءَالِهَةًۭ مَّا وَرَدُوهَا ۖ وَكُلٌّۭ فِيهَا خَـٰلِدُونَ
﴿١٠٠﴾
Had these been gods, they would not have entered it; all will abide therein eternally.
لَهُمْ فِيهَا زَفِيرٌۭ وَهُمْ فِيهَا لَا يَسْمَعُونَ
﴿١٠١﴾
They will have groaning therein, and they will not hear anything.
إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ سَبَقَتْ لَهُم مِّنَّا ٱلْحُسْنَىٓ أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ عَنْهَا مُبْعَدُونَ
﴿١٠٢﴾
Indeed, those for whom the best has preceded from Us, they will be far removed from it.
لَا يَسْمَعُونَ حَسِيسَهَا ۖ وَهُمْ فِى مَا ٱشْتَهَتْ أَنفُسُهُمْ خَـٰلِدُونَ
﴿١٠٣﴾
They will not hear its sound, and they will abide in what their souls desire.
لَا يَحْزُنُهُمُ ٱلْفَزَعُ ٱلْأَكْبَرُ وَتَتَلَقَّىٰهُمُ ٱلْمَلَـٰٓئِكَةُ هَـٰذَا يَوْمُكُمُ ٱلَّذِى كُنتُمْ تُوعَدُونَ
﴿١٠٤﴾
No distress will touch them on that day, and the angels will meet them, 'This is your day which you were promised.'
يَوْمَ نَطْوِى ٱلسَّمَآءَ كَطَىِّ ٱلسِّجِلِّ لِلْكُتُبِ ۚ كَمَا بَدَأْنَآ أَوَّلَ خَلْقٍۢ نُّعِيدُهُۥ ۚ وَعْدًا عَلَيْنَآ ۚ إِنَّا كُنَّا فَـٰعِلِينَ
﴿١٠٥﴾
The Day We will fold the heaven like the folding of a scroll for the records. As We began the first creation, We shall repeat it—a promise binding upon Us. Indeed, We will do it.
وَلَقَدْ كَتَبْنَا فِى ٱلزَّبُورِ مِنۢ بَعْدِ ٱلذِّكْرِ أَنَّ ٱلْأَرْضَ يَرِثُهَا عِبَادِىَ ٱلصَّـٰلِحُونَ
﴿١٠٦﴾
And We have written in the Psalms after the reminder: 'My righteous servants shall inherit the earth.'
إِنَّ فِى هَـٰذَا لَبَلَـٰغًۭا لِّقَوْمٍ عَـٰبِدِينَ
﴿١٠٧﴾
Indeed in this is a message for devout worshippers.
وَمَآ أَرْسَلْنَـٰكَ إِلَّا رَحْمَةًۭ لِّلْعَـٰلَمِينَ
﴿١٠٨﴾
And We have not sent you, [O Muhammad], except as a mercy to the worlds.
قُلْ إِنَّمَا يُوحَىٰٓ إِلَىَّ أَنَّمَآ إِلَـٰهُكُمْ إِلَـٰهٌۭ وَٰحِدٌۭ ۖ فَهَلْ أَنتُم مُّسْلِمُونَ
﴿١٠٩﴾
Say, 'It is only revealed to me that your God is one God. Will you then be Muslims?'
فَإِن تَوَلَّوْا۟ فَقُلْ ءَاذَنتُكُمْ عَلَىٰ سَوَآءٍۢ ۖ وَإِنْ أَدْرِىٓ أَقَرِيبٌ أَم بَعِيدٌۭ مَّا تُوعَدُونَ
﴿١١٠﴾
But if they turn away, say, 'I have conveyed to you equally; and I do not know whether that which you are promised is near or far.'
إِنَّهُۥ يَعْلَمُ ٱلْجَهْرَ مِنَ ٱلْقَوْلِ وَيَعْلَمُ مَا تَكْتُمُونَ
﴿١١١﴾
Indeed, He knows what is spoken openly and knows what you conceal.
وَإِنْ أَدْرِى لَعَلَّهُۥ فِتْنَةٌۭ لَّكُمْ وَمَتَـٰعٌ إِلَىٰ حِينٍۢ
﴿١١٢﴾
And I do not know; it may be a trial for you and enjoyment for a time.
قَـٰلَ رَبِّ ٱحْكُم بِٱلْحَقِّ ۗ وَرَبُّنَا ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنُ ٱلْمُسْتَعَانُ عَلَىٰ مَا تَصِفُونَ
﴿١١٣﴾
He said, 'My Lord, judge with truth.' And our Lord, the Most Merciful, is sought for help against what you describe.
