Surah 19 • 99 Verses • Arabic, English & Kiswahili
بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
﴿١﴾
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
كٓهيعٓصٓ
﴿٢﴾
Kaf, Ha, Ya, 'Ain, Sad.
ذِكْرُ رَحْمَتِ رَبِّكَ عَبْدَهُۥ زَكَرِيَّآ
﴿٣﴾
A mention of the mercy of your Lord to His servant Zechariah.
إِذْ نَادَىٰ رَبَّهُۥ نِدَآءً خَفِيًّۭا
﴿٤﴾
When he called to his Lord a private supplication.
قَالَ رَبِّ إِنِّى وَهَنَ ٱلْعَظْمُ مِنِّى وَٱشْتَعَلَ ٱلرَّأْسُ شَيْبًۭا وَلَمْ أَكُنۢ بِدُعَآئِكَ رَبِّ شَقِيًّۭا
﴿٥﴾
He said, 'My Lord, indeed my bones have weakened, and my head has filled with white, and I have never been in my supplication to You, my Lord, unblessed.'
وَإِنِّى خِفْتُ ٱلْمَوَٰلِىَ مِن وَرَآءِى وَكَانَتِ ٱمْرَأَتِى عَاقِرًۭا فَهَبْ لِى مِن لَّدُنكَ وَلِيًّۭا
﴿٦﴾
And indeed I fear the successors after me, and my wife is barren, so grant me from Yourself an heir.
يَرِثُنِى وَيَرِثُ مِنْ ءَالِ يَعْقُوبَ ۖ وَٱجْعَلْهُ رَبِّ رَضِيًّۭا
﴿٧﴾
Who will inherit me and inherit from the family of Jacob, and make him, my Lord, pleasing (to You).
يَـٰزَكَرِيَّآ إِنَّا نُبَشِّرُكَ بِغُلَـٰمٍ ٱسْمُهُۥ يَحْيَىٰ لَمْ نَجْعَل لَّهُۥ مِن قَبْلُ سَمِيًّۭا
﴿٨﴾
O Zechariah, indeed We give you good tidings of a boy whose name will be Yahya. We have not assigned this name to anyone before.
قَالَ رَبِّ أَنَّىٰ يَكُونُ لِى غُلَـٰمٌۭ وَكَانَتِ ٱمْرَأَتِى عَاقِرًۭا وَقَدْ بَلَغْتُ مِنَ ٱلْكِبَرِ عِتِيًّۭا
﴿٩﴾
He said, 'My Lord, how will I have a boy when my wife is barren and I have reached extreme old age?'
قَالَ كَذَٰلِكَ قَالَ رَبُّكَ هُوَ عَلَىَّ هَيِّنٌۭ وَقَدْ خَلَقْتُكَ مِن قَبْلُ وَلَمْ تَكُ شَيْـًۭٔا
﴿١٠﴾
He said, 'Thus [it will be]; your Lord says, "It is easy for Me, for I created you before when you were nothing."'
قَالَ رَبِّ ٱجْعَل لِّىٓ ءَايَةًۭ ۚ قَالَ ءَايَتُكَ أَلَّا تُكَلِّمَ ٱلنَّاسَ ثَلَـٰثَ لَيَالٍۢ سَوِيًّۭا
﴿١١﴾
He said, 'My Lord, give me a sign.' He said, 'Your sign is that you will not speak to the people for three nights, being sound.'
فَخَرَجَ عَلَىٰ قَوْمِهِۦ مِنَ ٱلْمِحْرَابِ فَأَوْحَىٰٓ إِلَيْهِمْ أَن سَبِّحُوا۟ بُكْرَةًۭ وَعَشِيًّۭا
﴿١٢﴾
So he came out to his people from the prayer chamber and instructed them to exalt [Allah] in the morning and the evening.
يَـٰيَحْيَىٰ خُذِ ٱلْكِتَـٰبَ بِقُوَّةٍۢ ۖ وَءَاتَيْنَـٰهُ ٱلْحُكْمَ صَبِيًّۭا
﴿١٣﴾
O Yahya! Take the Scripture with determination, and We granted him wisdom while yet a child.
وَحَنَانًۭا مِّن لَّدُنَّا وَزَكَوٰةًۭ ۖ وَكَانَ تَقِيًّۭا
﴿١٤﴾
And compassion from Us, and purity, and he was devout.
وَبَرًّۢا بِوَٰلِدَيْهِ وَلَمْ يَكُن جَبَّارًا عَصِيًّۭا
﴿١٥﴾
And dutiful to his parents, and he was not arrogant or rebellious.
وَسَلَـٰمٌ عَلَيْهِ يَوْمَ وُلِدَ وَيَوْمَ يَمُوتُ وَيَوْمَ يُبْعَثُ حَيًّۭا
﴿١٦﴾
Peace be upon him the day he was born, the day he dies, and the day he is raised alive.
وَٱذْكُرْ فِى ٱلْكِتَـٰبِ مَرْيَمَ إِذِ ٱنتَبَذَتْ مِنْ أَهْلِهَا مَكَانًۭا شَرْقِيًّۭا
﴿١٧﴾
And mention, in the Scripture, Mary, when she withdrew from her family to a place in the east.
فَٱتَّخَذَتْ مِن دُونِهِمْ حِجَابًۭا فَأَرْسَلْنَآ إِلَيْهَا رُوحَنَا فَتَمَثَّلَ لَهَا بَشَرًۭا سَوِيًّۭا
﴿١٨﴾
She took a veil from them, and We sent to her Our spirit, appearing to her as a well-formed man.
قَالَتْ إِنِّىٓ أَعُوذُ بِٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ مِنكَ إِن كُنتَ تَقِيًّۭا
﴿١٩﴾
She said, 'Indeed, I seek refuge in the Most Merciful from you, if you should be righteous.'
قَالَ إِنَّمَآ أَنَا۠ رَسُولُ رَبِّكِ لِأَهَبَ لَكِ غُلَـٰمًۭا زَكِيًّۭا
﴿٢٠﴾
He said, 'I am only a messenger of your Lord to give you a righteous boy.'
قَالَتْ أَنَّىٰ يَكُونُ لِى غُلَـٰمٌۭ وَلَمْ يَمْسَسْنِى بَشَرٌۭ وَلَمْ أَكُ بَغِيًّۭا
﴿٢١﴾
She said, 'How can I have a boy while no man has touched me, and I have not been unchaste?'
قَالَ كَذَٰلِكِ قَالَ رَبُّكِ هُوَ عَلَىَّ هَيِّنٌۭ ۖ وَلِنَجْعَلَهُۥٓ ءَايَةًۭ لِّلنَّاسِ وَرَحْمَةًۭ مِّنَّا ۚ وَكَانَ أَمْرًۭا مَّقْضِيًّۭا
﴿٢٢﴾
He said, 'Thus [it will be]; your Lord says, "It is easy for Me, and We will make him a sign for the people and a mercy from Us." And it is a matter decreed.'
فَحَمَلَتْهُ فَٱنتَبَذَتْ بِهِۦ مَكَانًۭا قَصِيًّۭا
﴿٢٣﴾
So she conceived him, and she withdrew with him to a remote place.
فَأَجَآءَهَا ٱلْمَخَاضُ إِلَىٰ جِذْعِ ٱلنَّخْلَةِ قَالَتْ يَـٰلَيْتَنِى مِتُّ قَبْلَ هَـٰذَا وَكُنتُ نَسْيًۭا مَّنسِيًّۭا
﴿٢٤﴾
Then the pains of childbirth drove her to the trunk of a palm tree. She said, 'Oh, I wish I had died before this and been forgotten.'
فَنَادَىٰهَا مِن تَحْتِهَآ أَلَّا تَحْزَنِى قَدْ جَعَلَ رَبُّكِ تَحْتَكِ سَرِيًّۭا
﴿٢٥﴾
But he called to her from below, 'Do not grieve; your Lord has provided a stream under you.'
وَهُزِّىٓ إِلَيْكِ بِجِذْعِ ٱلنَّخْلَةِ تُسَـٰقِطْ عَلَيْكِ رُطَبًۭا جَنِيًّۭا
﴿٢٦﴾
And shake the trunk of the palm tree towards you; it will drop ripe dates upon you.
فَكُلِى وَٱشْرَبِى وَقَرِّى عَيْنًۭا ۖ فَإِمَّا تَرَيِنَّ مِنَ ٱلْبَشَرِ أَحَدًۭا فَقُولِىٓ إِنِّى نَذَرْتُ لِلرَّحْمَـٰنِ صَوْمًۭا فَلَنْ أُكَلِّمَ ٱلْيَوْمَ إِنسِيًّۭا
﴿٢٧﴾
So eat and drink and be contented. And if you see anyone, say, 'I have vowed a fast to the Most Merciful, so I will not speak today to any human.'
فَأَتَتْ بِهِۦ قَوْمَهَا تَحْمِلُهُۥ ۖ قَالُوا۟ يَـٰمَرْيَمُ لَقَدْ جِئْتِ شَيْـًۭٔا فَرِيًّۭا
﴿٢٨﴾
Then she brought him to her people, carrying him. They said, 'O Mary, you have brought a thing astonishing!'
يَـٰٓأُخْتَ هَـٰرُونَ مَا كَانَ أَبُوكِ ٱمْرَأَ سَوْءٍۢ وَمَا كَانَتْ أُمُّكِ بَغِيًّۭا
﴿٢٩﴾
O sister of Aaron, your father was not a man of evil, nor was your mother unchaste.
فَأَشَارَتْ إِلَيْهِ ۖ قَالُوا۟ كَيْفَ نُكَلِّمُ مَن كَانَ فِى ٱلْمَهْدِ صَبِيًّۭا
﴿٣٠﴾
She pointed to him. They said, 'How can we talk to one who is a child in the cradle?'
قَالَ إِنِّى عَبْدُ ٱللَّهِ ءَاتَىٰنِىَ ٱلْكِتَـٰبَ وَجَعَلَنِى نَبِيًّۭا
﴿٣١﴾
He said, 'Indeed, I am a servant of Allah. He has given me the Scripture and made me a prophet.'
وَجَعَلَنِى مُبَارَكًا أَيْنَ مَا كُنتُ وَأَوْصَـٰنِى بِٱلصَّلَوٰةِ وَٱلزَّكَوٰةِ مَا دُمْتُ حَيًّۭا
﴿٣٢﴾
And He has made me blessed wherever I am and enjoined upon me prayer and zakah as long as I live.
وَبَرًّۢا بِوَٰلِدَتِى وَلَمْ يَجْعَلْنِى جَبَّارًۭا شَقِيًّۭا
﴿٣٣﴾
And [he was] dutiful to his mother, and He has not made me arrogant or miserable.
وَٱلسَّلَـٰمُ عَلَىَّ يَوْمَ وُلِدتُّ وَيَوْمَ أَمُوتُ وَيَوْمَ أُبْعَثُ حَيًّۭا
﴿٣٤﴾
And peace is on me the day I was born, the day I die, and the day I shall be raised alive.
ذَٰلِكَ عِيسَى ٱبْنُ مَرْيَمَ ۚ قَوْلَ ٱلْحَقِّ ٱلَّذِى فِيهِ يَمْتَرُونَ
﴿٣٥﴾
That is Jesus, the son of Mary—the statement of truth about which they dispute.
مَا كَانَ لِلَّهِ أَن يَتَّخِذَ مِن وَلَدٍۢ ۖ سُبْحَـٰنَهُۥٓ ۚ إِذَا قَضَىٰٓ أَمْرًۭا فَإِنَّمَا يَقُولُ لَهُۥ كُن فَيَكُونُ
﴿٣٦﴾
It is not for Allah to take a son; exalted is He! When He decrees a matter, He only says to it, 'Be,' and it is.
وَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ رَبِّى وَرَبُّكُمْ فَٱعْبُدُوهُ ۚ هَـٰذَا صِرَٰطٌۭ مُّسْتَقِيمٌۭ
﴿٣٧﴾
And indeed, Allah is my Lord and your Lord, so worship Him. This is a straight path.
فَٱخْتَلَفَ ٱلْأَحْزَابُ مِنۢ بَيْنِهِمْ ۖ فَوَيْلٌۭ لِّلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ مِن مَّشْهَدِ يَوْمٍ عَظِيمٍ
﴿٣٨﴾
But the factions differed among themselves. So woe to those who disbelieve from the sight of a great Day.
أَسْمِعْ بِهِمْ وَأَبْصِرْ يَوْمَ يَأْتُونَنَا ۖ لَـٰكِنِ ٱلظَّـٰلِمُونَ ٱلْيَوْمَ فِى ضَلَـٰلٍۢ مُّبِينٍۢ
﴿٣٩﴾
Hear them not and see them the day they come to Us; but the wrongdoers today are in clear error.
وَأَنذِرْهُمْ يَوْمَ ٱلْحَسْرَةِ إِذْ قُضِىَ ٱلْأَمْرُ وَهُمْ فِى غَفْلَةٍۢ وَهُمْ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ
﴿٤٠﴾
And warn them of the Day of Regret, when the matter will be decided while they are heedless and do not believe.
إِنَّا نَحْنُ نَرِثُ ٱلْأَرْضَ وَمَنْ عَلَيْهَا وَإِلَيْنَا يُرْجَعُونَ
﴿٤١﴾
Indeed, it is We who inherit the earth and whoever is on it, and to Us they will be returned.
وَٱذْكُرْ فِى ٱلْكِتَـٰبِ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ ۚ إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ صِدِّيقًۭا نَّبِيًّا
﴿٤٢﴾
And mention in the Scripture, Abraham. Indeed, he was a truthful prophet.
إِذْ قَالَ لِأَبِيهِ يَـٰٓأَبَتِ لِمَ تَعْبُدُ مَا لَا يَسْمَعُ وَلَا يُبْصِرُ وَلَا يُغْنِى عَنكَ شَيْـًۭٔا
﴿٤٣﴾
When he said to his father, 'O my father, why do you worship that which does not hear or see or benefit you in anything?'
يَـٰٓأَبَتِ إِنِّى قَدْ جَآءَنِى مِنَ ٱلْعِلْمِ مَا لَمْ يَأْتِكَ فَٱتَّبِعْنِىٓ أَهْدِكَ صِرَٰطًۭا سَوِيًّۭا
﴿٤٤﴾
O my father, indeed I have received knowledge that which you have not received, so follow me; I will guide you to a straight path.
يَـٰٓأَبَتِ لَا تَعْبُدِ ٱلشَّيْطَـٰنَ ۖ إِنَّ ٱلشَّيْطَـٰنَ كَانَ لِلرَّحْمَـٰنِ عَصِيًّۭا
﴿٤٥﴾
O my father, do not worship Satan. Indeed, Satan has ever been disobedient to the Most Merciful.
يَـٰٓأَبَتِ إِنِّىٓ أَخَافُ أَن يَمَسَّكَ عَذَابٌۭ مِّنَ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ فَتَكُونَ لِلشَّيْطَـٰنِ وَلِيًّۭا
﴿٤٦﴾
O my father, indeed I fear that a punishment from the Most Merciful may strike you, so you would be a companion of Satan.
قَالَ أَرَاغِبٌ أَنتَ عَنْ ءَالِهَتِى يَـٰٓإِبْرَٰهِيمُ ۖ لَئِن لَّمْ تَنتَهِ لَأَرْجُمَنَّكَ ۖ وَٱهْجُرْنِى مَلِيًّۭا
﴿٤٧﴾
He said, 'Do you renounce my gods, O Abraham? If you do not desist, I will stone you, so leave me alone!'
قَالَ سَلَـٰمٌ عَلَيْكَ ۖ سَأَسْتَغْفِرُ لَكَ رَبِّىٓ ۖ إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ بِى حَفِيًّۭا
﴿٤٨﴾
He said, 'Peace be upon you. I will ask forgiveness for you from my Lord. Indeed, He has been ever watchful over me.'
وَأَعْتَزِلُكُمْ وَمَا تَدْعُونَ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ وَأَدْعُوا۟ رَبِّى عَسَىٰٓ أَلَّآ أَكُونَ بِدُعَآءِ رَبِّى شَقِيًّۭا
﴿٤٩﴾
And I will withdraw from you and from those you invoke besides Allah, and I will call upon my Lord, hoping that I will not be miserable in my invocation to my Lord.'
فَلَمَّا ٱعْتَزَلَهُمْ وَمَا يَعْبُدُونَ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ وَهَبْنَا لَهُۥٓ إِسْحَـٰقَ وَيَعْقُوبَ ۖ وَكُلًّۭا جَعَلْنَا نَبِيًّۭا
﴿٥٠﴾
So when he separated from them and what they worshipped besides Allah, We granted him Isaac and Jacob, and each [of them] We made a prophet.
وَوَهَبْنَا لَهُم مِّن رَّحْمَتِنَا وَجَعَلْنَا لَهُمْ لِسَانَ صِدْقٍ عَلِيًّۭا
﴿٥١﴾
And We granted them of Our mercy, and We made for them a tongue of truthfulness.
وَٱذْكُرْ فِى ٱلْكِتَـٰبِ مُوسَىٰٓ ۚ إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ مُخْلَصًۭا وَكَانَ رَسُولًۭا نَّبِيًّۭا
﴿٥٢﴾
And mention in the Scripture Moses. Indeed, he was devoted and a messenger and a prophet.
وَنَـٰدَيْنَـٰهُ مِن جَانِبِ ٱلطُّورِ ٱلْأَيْمَنِ وَقَرَّبْنَـٰهُ نَجِيًّۭا
﴿٥٣﴾
And We called him from the right side of the Mount and brought him near, confidingly.
وَوَهَبْنَا لَهُۥ مِن رَّحْمَتِنَآ أَخَاهُ هَـٰرُونَ نَبِيًّۭا
﴿٥٤﴾
And We gave him, out of Our mercy, his brother Aaron, a prophet.
وَٱذْكُرْ فِى ٱلْكِتَـٰبِ إِسْمَـٰعِيلَ ۚ إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ صَادِقَ ٱلْوَعْدِ وَكَانَ رَسُولًۭا نَّبِيًّۭا
﴿٥٥﴾
And mention in the Scripture Ishmael. Indeed, he was true to his promise and was a messenger and a prophet.
وَكَانَ يَأْمُرُ أَهْلَهُۥ بِٱلصَّلَوٰةِ وَٱلزَّكَوٰةِ وَكَانَ عِندَ رَبِّهِۦ مَرْضِيًّۭا
﴿٥٦﴾
And he used to enjoin his people with prayer and charity and was pleasing with his Lord.
وَٱذْكُرْ فِى ٱلْكِتَـٰبِ إِدْرِيسَ ۚ إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ صِدِّيقًۭا نَّبِيًّۭا
﴿٥٧﴾
And mention in the Scripture Idris. Indeed, he was truthful and a prophet.
وَرَفَعْنَـٰهُ مَكَانًا عَلِيًّا
﴿٥٨﴾
And We raised him to a high station.
أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ ٱلَّذِينَ أَنْعَمَ ٱللَّهُ عَلَيْهِم مِّنَ ٱلنَّبِيِّـۧنَ مِن ذُرِّيَّةِ ءَادَمَ وَمِمَّنْ حَمَلْنَا مَعَ نُوحٍۢ وَمِن ذُرِّيَّةِ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ وَإِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ وَمِمَّنْ هَدَيْنَا وَٱجْتَبَيْنَآ ۚ إِذَا تُتْلَىٰ عَلَيْهِمْ ءَايَـٰتُ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ خَرُّوا۟ سُجَّدًۭا وَبُكِيًّۭا ۩
﴿٥٩﴾
These are the ones upon whom Allah has bestowed favor from among the prophets of the descendants of Adam, and of those We carried with Noah, and of the descendants of Abraham and Israel, and of those whom We guided and chose; when the verses of the Most Merciful are recited to them, they fall in prostration and weep.
فَخَلَفَ مِنۢ بَعْدِهِمْ خَلْفٌ أَضَاعُوا۟ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ وَٱتَّبَعُوا۟ ٱلشَّهَوَٰتِ ۖ فَسَوْفَ يَلْقَوْنَ غَيًّا
﴿٦٠﴾
Then after them, there came a succession who neglected prayer and followed their desires; so they will meet destruction.
إِلَّا مَن تَابَ وَءَامَنَ وَعَمِلَ صَـٰلِحًۭا فَأُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ يَدْخُلُونَ ٱلْجَنَّةَ وَلَا يُظْلَمُونَ شَيْـًۭٔا
﴿٦١﴾
Except those who repent, believe, and do righteousness; for them, they will enter Paradise and will not be wronged in anything.
جَنَّـٰتِ عَدْنٍ ٱلَّتِى وَعَدَ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنُ عِبَادَهُۥ بِٱلْغَيْبِ ۚ إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ وَعْدُهُۥ مَأْتِيًّۭا
﴿٦٢﴾
Gardens of Eternity which the Most Merciful promised His servants in the unseen; indeed, His promise is coming to pass.
لَّا يَسْمَعُونَ فِيهَا لَغْوًا إِلَّا سَلَـٰمًۭا ۖ وَلَهُمْ رِزْقُهُمْ فِيهَا بُكْرَةًۭ وَعَشِيًّۭا
﴿٦٣﴾
They will hear no idle talk therein, only peace. And for them is provision morning and evening.
تِلْكَ ٱلْجَنَّةُ ٱلَّتِى نُورِثُ مِنْ عِبَادِنَا مَن كَانَ تَقِيًّۭا
﴿٦٤﴾
That is Paradise which We cause to inherit among Our righteous servants.
وَمَا نَتَنَزَّلُ إِلَّا بِأَمْرِ رَبِّكَ ۖ لَهُۥ مَا بَيْنَ أَيْدِينَا وَمَا خَلْفَنَا وَمَا بَيْنَ ذَٰلِكَ ۚ وَمَا كَانَ رَبُّكَ نَسِيًّۭا
﴿٦٥﴾
And We descend not except by the command of your Lord. To Him belongs what is before us and what is behind us, and what is between; and your Lord is never forgetful.
رَّبُّ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا فَٱعْبُدْهُ وَٱصْطَبِرْ لِعِبَـٰدَتِهِۦ ۚ هَلْ تَعْلَمُ لَهُۥ سَمِيًّۭا
﴿٦٦﴾
Lord of the heavens and the earth and whatever is between them, so worship Him and be patient in His service. Do you know of anyone comparable to Him?
وَيَقُولُ ٱلْإِنسَـٰنُ أَءِذَا مَا مِتُّ لَسَوْفَ أُخْرَجُ حَيًّا
﴿٦٧﴾
And man says, 'When I die, shall I indeed be brought forth alive?'
أَوَلَا يَذْكُرُ ٱلْإِنسَـٰنُ أَنَّا خَلَقْنَـٰهُ مِن قَبْلُ وَلَمْ يَكُ شَيْـًۭٔا
﴿٦٨﴾
Does man not remember that We created him before, when he was nothing?
فَوَرَبِّكَ لَنَحْشُرَنَّهُمْ وَٱلشَّيَـٰطِينَ ثُمَّ لَنُحْضِرَنَّهُمْ حَوْلَ جَهَنَّمَ جِثِيًّۭا
﴿٦٩﴾
By your Lord, We will surely gather them and the devils, then We will bring them all around Hell, kneeling.
ثُمَّ لَنَنزِعَنَّ مِن كُلِّ شِيعَةٍ أَيُّهُمْ أَشَدُّ عَلَى ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ عِتِيًّۭا
﴿٧٠﴾
Then We will seize from every sect the most obstinate against the Most Merciful.
ثُمَّ لَنَحْنُ أَعْلَمُ بِٱلَّذِينَ هُمْ أَوْلَىٰ بِهَا صِلِيًّۭا
﴿٧١﴾
Then We are best aware of those who are most deserving to be seized.
وَإِن مِّنكُمْ إِلَّا وَارِدُهَا ۚ كَانَ عَلَىٰ رَبِّكَ حَتْمًۭا مَّقْضِيًّۭا
﴿٧٢﴾
And there is none among you except that he will pass over it. It is an obligation decreed by your Lord.
ثُمَّ نُنَجِّى ٱلَّذِينَ ٱتَّقَوا۟ وَنَذَرُ ٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَ فِيهَا جِثِيًّۭا
﴿٧٣﴾
Then We will save those who feared Allah and leave the wrongdoers therein kneeling.
وَإِذَا تُتْلَىٰ عَلَيْهِمْ ءَايَـٰتُنَا بَيِّنَـٰتٍۢ قَالَ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ لِلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوٓا۟ أَىُّ ٱلْفَرِيقَيْنِ خَيْرٌۭ مَّقَامًۭا وَأَحْسَنُ نَدِيًّۭا
﴿٧٤﴾
And when Our clear verses are recited to them, those who disbelieve say to those who believe, 'Which party is better in position and better in speech?'
وَكَمْ أَهْلَكْنَا قَبْلَهُم مِّن قَرْنٍ هُمْ أَحْسَنُ أَثَـٰثًۭا وَرِءْيًۭا
﴿٧٥﴾
And how many generations did We destroy before them, who were better furnished in property and appearance?
قُلْ مَن كَانَ فِى ٱلضَّلَـٰلَةِ فَلْيَمْدُدْ لَهُ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنُ مَدًّا ۚ حَتَّىٰٓ إِذَا رَأَوْا۟ مَا يُوعَدُونَ إِمَّا ٱلْعَذَابَ وَإِمَّا ٱلسَّاعَةَ فَسَيَعْلَمُونَ مَنْ هُوَ شَرٌّۭ مَّكَانًۭا وَأَضْعَفُ جُندًۭا
﴿٧٦﴾
Say: 'Whoever is in error, let the Most Merciful extend him in error until, when they see what they are promised, either the punishment or the Hour, they will know who is worse in position and weaker in soldiers.'
وَيَزِيدُ ٱللَّهُ ٱلَّذِينَ ٱهْتَدَوْا۟ هُدًۭى ۗ وَٱلْبَـٰقِيَـٰتُ ٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتُ خَيْرٌ عِندَ رَبِّكَ ثَوَابًۭا وَخَيْرٌۭ مَّرَدًّا
﴿٧٧﴾
And Allah increases those who are guided in guidance. And the enduring good deeds are better with your Lord in reward and better in return.
أَفَرَءَيْتَ ٱلَّذِى كَفَرَ بِـَٔايَـٰتِنَا وَقَالَ لَأُوتَيَنَّ مَالًۭا وَوَلَدًا
﴿٧٨﴾
Have you seen the one who disbelieves in Our signs and says, 'I will surely be given wealth and children'?
أَطَّلَعَ ٱلْغَيْبَ أَمِ ٱتَّخَذَ عِندَ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ عَهْدًۭا
﴿٧٩﴾
Has he knowledge of the unseen, or has he taken a covenant with the Most Merciful?
كَلَّا ۚ سَنَكْتُبُ مَا يَقُولُ وَنَمُدُّ لَهُۥ مِنَ ٱلْعَذَابِ مَدًّۭا
﴿٨٠﴾
No! We will record what he says and extend for him the punishment in abundance.
وَنَرِثُهُۥ مَا يَقُولُ وَيَأْتِينَا فَرْدًۭا
﴿٨١﴾
And We will inherit what he speaks, and he will come to Us alone.
وَٱتَّخَذُوا۟ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ ءَالِهَةًۭ لِّيَكُونُوا۟ لَهُمْ عِزًّۭا
﴿٨٢﴾
And they took gods besides Allah to give them honor.
كَلَّا ۚ سَيَكْفُرُونَ بِعِبَادَتِهِمْ وَيَكُونُونَ عَلَيْهِمْ ضِدًّا
﴿٨٣﴾
No! They will deny their worship and be against them.
أَلَمْ تَرَ أَنَّآ أَرْسَلْنَا ٱلشَّيَـٰطِينَ عَلَى ٱلْكَـٰفِرِينَ تَؤُزُّهُمْ أَزًّۭا
﴿٨٤﴾
Do you not see that We send the devils upon the disbelievers, inciting them violently?
فَلَا تَعْجَلْ عَلَيْهِمْ ۖ إِنَّمَا نَعُدُّ لَهُمْ عَدًّۭا
﴿٨٥﴾
So do not hasten against them; We are only counting for them a (limited) count.
يَوْمَ نَحْشُرُ ٱلْمُتَّقِينَ إِلَى ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ وَفْدًۭا
﴿٨٦﴾
The Day We will gather the righteous to the Most Merciful as a delegation.
وَنَسُوقُ ٱلْمُجْرِمِينَ إِلَىٰ جَهَنَّمَ وِرْدًۭا
﴿٨٧﴾
And We will drive the criminals to Hell in crowds.
لَّا يَمْلِكُونَ ٱلشَّفَـٰعَةَ إِلَّا مَنِ ٱتَّخَذَ عِندَ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ عَهْدًۭا
﴿٨٨﴾
They will not have any power of intercession except those who have taken a covenant with the Most Merciful.
وَقَالُوا۟ ٱتَّخَذَ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنُ وَلَدًۭا
﴿٨٩﴾
And they say, 'The Most Merciful has taken a son.'
لَّقَدْ جِئْتُمْ شَيْـًٔا إِدًّۭا
﴿٩٠﴾
You have certainly come with an extraordinary thing.
تَكَادُ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتُ يَتَفَطَّرْنَ مِنْهُ وَتَنشَقُّ ٱلْأَرْضُ وَتَخِرُّ ٱلْجِبَالُ هَدًّا
﴿٩١﴾
The heavens almost split from it, the earth splits, and the mountains collapse in devastation.
أَن دَعَوْا۟ لِلرَّحْمَـٰنِ وَلَدًۭا
﴿٩٢﴾
For they have ascribed a child to the Most Merciful.
وَمَا يَنۢبَغِى لِلرَّحْمَـٰنِ أَن يَتَّخِذَ وَلَدًا
﴿٩٣﴾
It is not suitable for the Most Merciful to take a son.
إِن كُلُّ مَن فِى ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ إِلَّآ ءَاتِى ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ عَبْدًۭا
﴿٩٤﴾
All who are in the heavens and the earth come to the Most Merciful as servants.
لَّقَدْ أَحْصَىٰهُمْ وَعَدَّهُمْ عَدًّۭا
﴿٩٥﴾
He has enumerated them and counted them precisely.
وَكُلُّهُمْ ءَاتِيهِ يَوْمَ ٱلْقِيَـٰمَةِ فَرْدًا
﴿٩٦﴾
And all of them will come to Him on the Day of Resurrection individually.
إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَعَمِلُوا۟ ٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتِ سَيَجْعَلُ لَهُمُ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنُ وُدًّۭا
﴿٩٧﴾
Indeed, those who believe and do righteous deeds, the Most Merciful will assign them love.
فَإِنَّمَا يَسَّرْنَـٰهُ بِلِسَانِكَ لِتُبَشِّرَ بِهِ ٱلْمُتَّقِينَ وَتُنذِرَ بِهِۦ قَوْمًۭا لُّدًّۭا
﴿٩٨﴾
And We have made it easy in your tongue, so you may give good tidings to the righteous and warn a stubborn people.
وَكَمْ أَهْلَكْنَا قَبْلَهُم مِّن قَرْنٍ هَلْ تُحِسُّ مِنْهُم مِّنْ أَحَدٍ أَوْ تَسْمَعُ لَهُمْ رِكْزًۢا
﴿٩٩﴾
And how many generations did We destroy before them? Do you perceive any of them or hear a trace of them?
