اَللهُ اَكْبَرُ

ziyarah as well as any other prayer you wish to offer. When you intend to bid farewell to him, you may say the words that have been previously cited at bidding farewell. leader. اَللهُ اَكْبَرُ كَبِيْرًا

Allah is the Most Great.

وَ الْحَمْدُ للهُ كَثِيْرًا

Allah is the Most Great of all. All praise be to Allah very

وَ سُبْحَانَ اللّهِ بُكْرَةً وَ اَصِيْلًا

much. Glory be to Allah in mornings and evenings. All praise

وَ الْحَمْدُ للهِ الَّذِيَّ هَدَانَا لِهَذَا

be to Allah Who has guided us to this. We would not have

وَ مَا كُنَا لِنَهْتَدِيَ لَوْ لَا اَنْ هَدَانَا اللَهُ

been guided if Allah had not guided us. The messengers of

لَقَدْ جَاءَثْ رُسُلَ رَبِّنَا بِالْحَقُّ

our Lord have indeed come with the truth. Peace be upon the

ٱَلسَّلَامُ عَلَى رَسُوْلِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَ ألِهِ

Messenger of Allah, peace of Allah be upon him and his

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَى اَمِيْرِ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ

Household. Peace be upon the Commander of the Faithful.

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلى فَاطِمَةَ الزَّهْرَآءِ سَيِّدَةِ نِسَاءِ الْعَالَمِيْنَ

Peace be upon Fatimah the luminous and the doyenne of all

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَى الْحَسَنِ وَ الْحُسَيْنِ

women of the world. Peace be upon al-Hasan and al-Husayn.

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَى عَلِيَّ بْنِ الْحُسَيْنِ

Peace be upon 'Ali the son of al-Husayn. Peace be upon

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَى مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَلِيَّ

Muhammad the son of 'Ali Peace be upon Ja'far the son of

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَى جَعْفَرٍ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَى مُؤْسَى بْنِ جَعْفَرٍ

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَى عَلِيٌّ بْنِ مُؤْسى

Muhammad. Peace be upon Musa the son of Ja'far. Peace

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَى مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَلِيَّ

be upon 'Ali the son of Musa. Peace be upon Muhammad the

ٱَلسَّلَامُ عَلَى عَلِيَّ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ

son of 'Ali. Peace be upon 'Ali the son of Muhammad. Peace

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَى الْحَسَنِ بْنِ عَلِيَّ

be upon al-Hasan the son of 'Ali. Peace be upon the virtuous

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَى الْخَلَفِ الصَّالِحِ الْمُنْتَظَرِ

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَآ آَبَا عَبْدِ اللهِ

Successor and Awaited. Peace be upon you, O Abu-'Abdullah.

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا ابْنَ رَسُوْلِ اللهِ

Peace be upon you, O son of Allah's Messenger. I-the

عَبْدُكَ وَ ابْنُ عَبْدِكَ وَ ابْنُ اَمَتِكَ

servant of you and the son of your servant and your

الْمُوَالِيْ لِوَلِيِّكَ

bondwoman, who is loyal to those who are loyal to you and

الْمُعَادِيْ لِعَدُوَّكَ

enemy of those who are your enemies- am seeking the

اسْتَجَارَ بِمَشْهَدِكَ

وَ تَقَرَّبَ اِلَى اللهِ بِقَضْدِكَ

shelter of your shrine and seeking nearness to Allah through

اَلْحَمْدُ للهِ الَّذِي هَدَانِي لِولَايَتِكَ

directing to you. All praise be to Allah Who guided me to be

وَ خَصَّنِيْ بِزِيَارَتِكَ

loyal to you, Who conferred upon me with my visiting you,

وَ سَهَلَ لِيْ قَضْدَكَ.

and Who made easy for me to direct to you.

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا وَارِثَ اَدَمَ صَفْوَةِ اللهِ

Peace be upon you, O inheritor of Adam the chosen by Allah.

ٱَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا وَارِثَ نُوْحِ نَبِيِّ اللهِ

Peace be upon you, O inheritor of Noah the prophet of Allah.

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا وَارِثَ اِبْرَاهِيْمَ خَلِيْلِ اللهِ

Peace be upon you, O inheritor of Abraham the friend of Allah. Peace be upon you, O inheritor of Moses the spoken by

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا وَارِثَ عِيْسْ رُوْحِ اللهِ

Allah. Peace be upon you, O inheritor of Jesus the spirit of

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا وَارِثَ مُحَمَّدٍ حَبِيْبِ اللهِ

Allah. Peace be upon you, O inheritor of Muhammad the

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا وَارِثَ آَمِيْرِ الْمُؤْمِنِيْنَ

most beloved by Allah. Peace be upon you, O inheritor of the

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا وَارِثَ فَاطِمَةَ الزَّهْرَاءِ

Commander of the Faithful. Peace be upon you, O inheritor of

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا ابْنَ مُحَمَّدِ الْمُصطَفَى

Fatimah the luminous. Peace be upon you, O son of

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا ابْنَ عَلِيِّ الْمُرْتَضى

Muhammad the well-chosen prophet. Peace be upon you, 0

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا ابْنَ فَاطِمَةَ الزَّهْرَاءِ

son of 'Ali the well-pleased. Peace be upon you, O son of

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا ابْنَ خَدِيْجَةَ الْكُبْرُى

Fatimah the luminous. Peace be upon you, O son of Khadfjah

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا ثَارَ اللهِ وَ ابْنَ ثَارِهِ

the grand lady. Peace be upon you, O vengeance of Allah and

وَ الْوِثْرَ الْمَوْتُوْرَ

son of His vengeance and the unavenged sanctity. I bear

اَشْهَدُ أَنَّكَ قَدْ اَقَمْتَ الصَّلَاةَ

witness that you performed the prayers, defrayed the poor-

وَ أتَيْتَ الزَّكَاةَ

وَ اَمَرْتَ بِالْمَعْرُوْفِ

وَ نَهَيْتَ عَنِ المُنْكَرِ

rates, enjoined the right, forbade the wrong, and obeyed Allah

وَ اَطَعْتَ اللهَ حَتَّى آَتَاكَ الْيَقِيْنُ

فَلَعَنَ اللهُ أُمَّةً قَتَلَثكَ

until death came upon you. May Allah curse the people who

وَ لَعَنَ اللهُ أُمَّةً ظَلَمَثْكَ

slew you. May Allah curse the people who wronged you. May

وَلَعَنَ اللهُ أَمَّةً سَمِعَتْ بِذلِكَ فَرَضِيَتْ بِهِ

Allah curse the people who were informed about that but

يَا مَوْلَايَ يَا آَبَا عَبْدِ اللهِ

they approved it. O my master! O Abu-Abdullah! I call Allah,

أشهدُ اللهَ وَ مَلَائِكَتَهُ

وَ اَنْبِيَآءَهُ وَ رُسُلَهُ

His angels, His Prophets, and His Messengers to witness

أَنَّيْ بِكُمْ مُؤْمِنْ وَ بِايَابِكُمْ

that I believe in you and in your Return and I have faith in the

مُؤْقِنٌ بِشَرَائِعِ دِيْنِيْ وَ خَوَاتِيْمِ عَمَلِيْ

laws of my religion and in the sealing deeds of mine, and in

وَ مُتْقَلَبِي إِلَى رَبَّى

فَصَلَوَاتُ اللهِ عَلَيْكُمْ

my final return to my Lord. Allah's blessings be upon you all,

وَ عَلَى اَرْوَاحِكُمْ وَ عَلَى اَجْسَادِكُمْ

upon your souls, upon your bodies, upon the present and the

وَ عَلَى شَاهِدِكُمْ وَ عَلَى غَائِبِكُمْ

absent (of your group), and upon the manifest and the

وَ ظَاهِرِكُمْ وَ بَاطِنِكُمْ

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا ابْنَ خَاتَمِ النَّبِيِّيْنَ

hidden (of your affairs). Peace be upon you, O son of the Seal

وَ ابْنَ سَيِّدِ الْوَصِيِّيْنَ

of Prophets, son of the chief of the Prophets' successors,

وَ ابْنَ اِمَامِ الْمُتَّقِيْنَ

son of the leader of the pious, and son of the white-forehead,

وَ ابْنَ قَائِدِ الْغُرَ الْمُحَجَلِيْنَ إِلَى جَنَّاتِ النَّعِيمِ

وَ كَيْفَ لَا تَكُوْنُ كَذلِكَ

marked believers. How can that you be anything other than

وَ اَنْتَ بَابُ الْهُدْى

this while you are the door to the true guidance, the guide to

وَ اِمَامُ التُّقْى

piety, the firmest handle, the argument against the

وَ الْعُرْوَةُ الْوُثْقَى

وَ الْحُجَةُ عَلَى اَهْلِ الدُّنْيَا

وَ خَامِسُ اَضحَابٍ [اهل] الْكِسَاءِ

inhabitants of this world, and the fifth of the People of the

غَذَثْكَ يَدُ الرَّحْمَةِ

Cloak. You were nourished by the hand of mercy, breast-fed

وَ رُضِعتَ [رَضَعْتَ] مِنْ ثَذْي الْاِيْمَانِ

وَ رُبَّيْتَ فِيْ حِجْرِ الإِسْلَامِ

by the bosom of faith, and brought up in the lap of Islam. So,

فَالنَّفْسُ غَيْرُ رَاضِيَةٍ بِفِرَاقِكَ

my soul is definitely displeased by the way you left this world

وَ لا شَاكَّةٍ فِيْ حَيَاتِكَ

صَلَوَاتُ اللهِ عَلَيْكَ

and it has no doubt that you are alive. Allah's blessings be

وَ عَلَى أَبَآئِكَ وَ اَبْنَآئِكَ

upon you, your ascendants, and your descendants. Peace be

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا صَرِيْعَ العَبْرَةِ السَّاكِبَةِ

وَ قَرِيْنَ الْمُصِيْبَةِ الرَّاتِبَةِ

upon you, O object of the pouring tears and match of the

لَعَنَ اللهُ أُمَّةً اسْتَحَلَّثْ مِثْكَ الْمَحَارِمَ

astounding misfortune. May Allah curse the people who

[وَ انْتَهَكَتْ فِيْكَ حُرْمَةَ الْإِسْلَامِ]

violated your sanctities and infringed the holiness of Islam.

فَقُتِلْتَ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْكَ مَقْهُوْرًا

So, you-may Allah's blessings be upon you-were killed

وَ اَضبَحَ رَسُوْلُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَ ألِهِ بِكَ مَؤْتُوْرًا

overwhelmed, the Messenger of Allah, Allah's blessings be upon him and his Household, became cut off because of

وَ اَصبَحَ كِتَابُ اللّهِ بِفَقْدِكَ مَهْجُوْرًا

loss of you, and the Book of Allah became deserted due to

ٱَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ وَ عَلَى جَدِّكَ وَ اَبِيْكَ

losing you. Peace be upon you, your grandfather, your father,

وَ أُمِّكَ وَ اَخِيْكَ

your mother, your brother, the lmams from your descendants,

وَ عَلَى الْاَئِمَّةِ مِنْ بَنِيْكَ

وَ عَلَى الْمُسْتَشْهَدِيْنَ مَعَكَ

those who were martyred with you, and the angels who are

وَ عَلَى الْمَلَائِكَةِ الْحَافِيْنَ بِقَبْرِكَ

وَ الشَّاهِدِيْنَ لِزُوَارِكَ

surrounding your tomb, witnessing for your visitors, and

الْمُؤَمَّنِيْنَ بِالْقَبُوْلِ عَلَى دُعَآءِ شِيْعَتِكَ

praying for the acceptance of the prayers of your adherents.

وَ السَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ وَ رَحْمَةُ اللهِ وَ بَرَكَاتُهُ

Peace and Allah's mercy and blessings be upon you. May my

بِآَبِي أَنْتَ وَ أَمّنِ يَا ابْنَ رَسُوْلِ اللهِ

father and mother be ransoms for you, O son of Allah's

بِآَبِي أَنْتَ وَ أَمَّنٍ يَآ آَبَا عَبْدِ اللهِ

Messenger. May my father and mother be ransoms for you, 0

لَقَدْ عَظُمَتِ الرَّزِيَّةُ

Abu-Abdullah. So unbearable is the misfortune and so

وَ جَلَّتِ الْمُصِيْبَةُ بِكَ

horrendous is the calamity of you for us and for all the

عَلَيْنَا وَ عَلَى جَمِيْعِ اَهْلِ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَ الْاَرْضِ

inhabitants of the heavens and the earth. May Allah curse

فَلَعَنَ اللهُ أُمَةً اَسْرَجَثْ وَ اَلْجَمَثْ

the people who put saddles and reins on their animals and

وَ تَهَيَّاتْ لِقِتَالِكَ

يَا مَوْلَايَ يَآ آَبَا عَبْدِ اللهِ

readied themselves for fighting against you. O my master! O

قَصَدْتُ حَرَمَكَ

Abu-Abdullah! I have directed to your sanctuary and I have

وَ اَتَيْتُ مَشْهَدَكَ

come to your shrine asking Almighty Allah in the name of the

أَسْاَلَ اللهَ بِالشَّأْنِ الَذِيْ لَكَ عِنْدَهُ

standing that you enjoy with Him and in the name of the

وَ بِالْمَحَلِّ الَّذِيْ لَكَ لَدَيْهِ

position that you occupy with him to send blessings upon

اَنْ يُصَلِّيَ عَلَى مُحَمَدٍ وَ الِ مُحَمَّدٍ

Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad and to

وَ آَنْ يَجْعَلَنِي مَعَكُمْ فِيْ الدُّنْيَا وَ الْأخِرَةِ

include me with your group in this world and in the Hereafter,

بِمَنَّهِ وَ جُوْدِهِ وَ كَرَمِهِ.

out of His favor, magnanimity, and generosity.

اَللَّهُمَّ إِنَّي صَلَّيْتُ وَ رَكَفْتُ وَ سَجَدْتُ

O Allah, I have offered a prayer, genuflected, and prostrated

لَكَ وَحْدَكَ لَا شَرِيْكَ لَكَ

myself for Your sake purely without setting any partner with

لِانَّ الصَّلَاةَ وَ الرُّكُوْعَ وَ السُّجُوْدَ

لَا يَكُوْنُ اِلَّا لَكَ

You, since all prayers, genuflections, and prostrations suit

لاَنَّكَ اَنْتَ اللهُ لَا اِلْهَ اِلَّا اَنْتَ

none except You. Because You are Allah; there in no god

اَللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ أَلِ مُحَمَّدٍ

save You. O Allah, (please) send blessings upon Muhammad

وَ اَبْلِغْهُمْ عَنَّي اَفْضَلَ التَّحِيَّةِ وَ السَّلَامِ

and the Household of Muhammad, convey to them my best

وَ ازْدُدْ عَلَيَّ مِنْهُمُ التَّحِيَّةَ وَ السَّلَامَ

greetings and compliments, and convey to me their replies to

اَللَهُمَّ وَ هَاتَانِ الرَّكْعَتَانِ

my greetings and compliments. O Allah, these two units of

هَدِيَّةٌ مِنَّي إِلَى مَؤْلَايَ وَ سَيَّدِيْ وَ اِمَامِي

prayer are present from me to my master, chief, and leader, al-

الْحُسَيْنِ بْنِ عَلِيٌّ عَلَيْهِمَا السَّلَامُ

Husayn the son of 'Ali, peace be upon both of them. O Allah,

اَللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَدٍ وَأل مُحَمَّدٍ

send blessings upon Muhammad and the Household of

وَ تَقَبَلْ ذَلِكَ مِنِّيْ وَ اجْزِيْيْ عَلَى ذَلِكَ

Muhammad and accept that from me and reward me for it in

اَفْضَلَ اَمَلِيْ وَ رَجَائِيْ فِيْكَ وَ فِيْ وَلِيّكَ

the best rewarding that I anticipate and hope from You and

يَا اَرْحَمَ الرَّاجِمِيْنَ.

from Your saint. O most merciful of all those who show mercy!

ٱلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا ابْنَ رَسُوْلِ اللهِ

Peace be upon you, O son of Allah's Messenger. Peace be

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا ابْنَ نَبِيَّ اللهِ

upon you, O son of Allah's Prophet. Peace be upon you, O son

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا ابْنَ آَمِيْرِ الْمُؤْمِنِيْنَ

of the Commander of the Faithful. Peace be upon you, O son

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا ابْنَ الْحُسَيْنِ الشَّهِيْدِ

of al-Husayn the martyr. Peace be upon you, O martyr and

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ آَيُّهَا الشَّهِيْدُ ابْنُ الشَّهِيْدِ

son of the martyr. Peace be upon you, O persecuted and son

ٱَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ آَيُّهَا الْمَظْلُوْمُ ابْنُ الْمَظْلُوْمِ

لَعَنَ اللهُ أُمَةًّ قَتَلَثكَ

of the persecuted. May Allah curse the people who slew you.

وَ لَعَنَ اللهُ أُمَّةً ظَلَمَثكَ

May Allah curse the people who wronged you. May Allah

وَلَعَنَ اللهُ أُمَّةً سَمِعَتْ بِذلِكَ فَرَضِيَتْ بِهِ

curse the people who were informed of that and they

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا مَؤْلَايَ

approved it. Peace be upon you, O my master. Peace be upon

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا وَلِيَّ اللهِ وَ ابْنَ وَلِيَّهِ

you, O Allah's friend and son of His friend. Unbearable is the

لَقَدْ عَظُمَتِ الْمُصِيْبَةُ

وَ جَلِّتِ الرَّزِيَّةُ بِكَ

misfortune and so horrendous is the calamity of you for us

عَلَيْنَا وَ عَلَى جَمِيْعِ الْمُؤْمِنِيْنَ

and for all faithful believers. May Allah curse the people who

فَلَعَنَ اللهُ آَمَّةً قَتَلَثْكَ

slew you. I release myself in the presence of Allah and you

وَ آَبْرَاَ إِلَى اللهِ وَ اِلَيْكَ مِنْهُمْ فِي الدُّنْيَا وَ الْأَخِرَةِ.

from these people in this world and in the Hereafter.

ٱَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكُمْ يَآ اَوْلِيَاءَ اللهِ وَ اَحِبَآءَهُ

Peace be upon you, O Allah's friends and beloved by him.

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكُمْ يَا اَضفِيَآءَ اللهِ وَ اَوِدَّاءَهُ

Peace be upon you, O choices of Allah and His favorites.

ٱَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكُمْ يَآ اَنْصَارَ دِيْنِ اللهِ

Peace be upon you, O supporters of Allah's Religion,

وَ اَنْصَارَ نَبِيِّهِ

وَ اَنْصَارَ اَمِيْرِ الْمُؤْمِنِيْنَ

supporters of His Prophet, supporters of the Commander of

وَ اَنْصَارَ فَاطِمَةَ سَيِّدَةِ نِسَآءِ الْعَالَمِيْنَ

the Faithful, and supporters of Fatimah the doyenne of the

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكُمْ يَآ اَنْصَارَ اَبِي مُحَمَّدٍ

women of the world. Peace be upon you, O supporters of

اَلْحَسَنِ الْوَلِيِّ النَّاصِحِ

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكُمْ يَآ اَنْصَارَ آَبِي عَبْدِ اللهِ

Abü-Muhammad al-Hasan the sincere saint. Peace be upon

الْحُسَيْنِ الشَّهِيْدِ الْمَظْلُوْمِ

you, O supporters of Abü-Abdullâh al-Husayn the wronged

صَلَوَاتُ اللهِ عَلَيْهِمْ اَجْمَعِيْنَ

martyr. Blessings of Allah be upon them all. May my father

بِآَبِي أَنْثُمْ وَ أَمِّيْ

and mother be your ransoms. Pure are you, and pure is the

طِبْتُمْ وَ طَابَتِ الْأَرْضُ الَّتِيْ فِيْهَا دُفِتْتُمْ

soil in which you were buried. And, by Allah, great is your

وَ فُزْتُمْ وَ اللهِ فَوْزًا عَظِيْمًا

يَا لَيْتَنِيْ كُنْتُ مَعَكُمْ فَافُوْزَ مَعَكُمْ

triumph. I wish I were with you so that I would have won with

فِي الْجِنَانِ مَعَ الشَّهَدَاءِ وَ الصَّالِحِيْنَ

you in the gardens of Paradise with the martyrs and the

وَ حَسُنَ أُوْلِئِكَ رَفِيْقًا

وَ السَّلَامُ عَلَيْكُمْ وَ رَحْمَةُ اللهِ وَ بَرَكَاتُهُ.

righteous. Excellent is the companionship of these. Peace

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَآ آَبَا الْفَضْلِ

Peace be upon you, O Abu'l-Fadl al- 'Abbas son of the

الْعَبَاسَ ابْنَ اَمِيْرِ الْمُؤْمِنِيْنَ

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا ابْنَ سَيِّدِ الْوَصِيِّيْنَ

Commander of the Faithful. Peace be upon you, O son of the

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا ابْنَ اَوَّلِ الْقَوْمِ اِسْلَامًا

chief of the Prophets' successors. Peace be upon you, O son

وَ اَقْدَمِهِمْ اِيْمَانًا

of the foremost in accepting Islam, the leading in having faith

وَ اَقْوَمِهِمْ بِدِيْنِ اللهِ

in it, the most perfect in carrying out the laws of Allah's

وَ اَخْوَطِهِمْ عَلَى الإِسْلَامِ

religion, and the most careful for Islam. I bear witness that

اَشهَد لَقَدْ نَصَّحْتَ لله وَ لِرَسُوْلِهِ وَلاخِيْكَ

you have acted sincerely for the sake of Allah, His

فَنِعَمَ الاَخُ الْمُوَاسِيْ

Messenger, and your brother. So, how excellent sacrificing

فَلَعَنَ اللهُ اُمَةً قَتَلَثكَ

brother you are! May Allah curse the people who slew you.

وَلَعَنَ اللهُ أُمَّةً ظَلَمَثْكَ

May Allah curse the people who wronged you. May Allah

وَ لَعَنَ اللهُ أُمَّةً اِسْتَحَلَّتْ مِثْكَ الْمَحَارِمَ

curse the people who violated your sanctities and infringed

وَ انْتَهَكَتْ فِيْ قَثْلِكَ حُرْمَةَ الْإِسْلَامِ

the holiness of Islam when they killed you. Most excellent

فَنِعْمَ الاَخُ الصَابِرُ الْمُجَاهِدُ

الْمُحَامِي النَّاصِرُ

وَ الاَخُ الدَّافِعُ عَنْ آَخِيْهِ

steadfast, striver brother, defender, supporter, one who stood

الْمُجِيْبُ إِلى طَاعَةٍ رَبَّهِ

up for his brother, one who responded to the obedience to

الرَّاغِبُ فِيْمَا زَهِدَ فِيْهِ غَيْرُهُ

his Lord, and one who desired for what others deemed

مِنَ الثَّوَابِ الْجَزِيْلِ وَ الثَّنَاءِ الْجَمِيْلِ

unworthy; namely, the abundant reward and the excellent

وَ اَلْحَقَكَ اللهُ بِدَرَجَةٍ أَبَآئِكَ

praise you are. May Allah attach you to the rank of your

فِي دَارِ النَّعِيْمِ

ancestors in the Abode of Bliss.

اِنَّهُ حَمِيْدٌ مَجِيْدٌ.

اَللَّهُمَّ لَكَ تَعَرَّضْتُ

O Allah, I am presenting myself before You and l am

وَ لِزِيَارَةِ اَوْلِيَآئِكَ قَصَدْتُ

intending to visit your intimate servants, for I desire for

رَغْبَةً فِيْ ثَوَابِكَ

وَ رَجَاءً لِمَغْفِرَتِكَ

gaining Your reward and I hope for Your forgiveness and

وَ جَزِيْل اِحْسَانِكَ

abundant benevolence. So, I beseech You to send blessings

فَاسْاَلُكَ اَنْ تُصَلِّيَ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ الِ مُحَمَّدٍ

upon Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad, and, (l

وَ اَنْ تَجْعَلَ رِزْقِي بِهِمْ دَآرًا

beseech You) in their names, to make my sustenance

وَ عَيْشِيْ بِهِمْ قَارًا

وَ زِيَارَتِيْ بِهِمْ مَقْبُوْلَةً

وَ حَيَاتِيْ بِهِمْ طَيِّبَةَ

unstoppable, my life peaceful, my pilgrimage admissible, my

وَ ذَنْبِيْ بِهِمْ مَغْفَوْرًا

life serene, and my sins forgiven. And (I beseech You to)

وَ اقْلِبْنِيْ بِهِمْ مُفْلِحًا مُنْجِحًا

make me return from them with success and prosperity,

مُستَجَابًا دُعَآئِيْ

بِاَفْضَلِ مَا يَنْقَلِبُ بِهِ آَحَدٌ

having my prayers granted, with the best things with which

مِنْ زُوَّارِهِ وَ الْقَاصِدِيْنَ اِلَيْهِ

any one of his visitors and comers may return; in the name of

بِرَحْمَتِكَ يَآ اَرْحَمَ الرَّاحِمِيْنَ.

Your mercy, O most merciful of all those who show mercy. ziyarah as well as any other prayer you wish to offer. When you intend to bid farewell to him, you may say the words that have been previously cited at bidding farewell.
