Virtues, description, and recitation method of ZIYARAH OF IMAM HUSAYN (A) ON THE 1ST OF RAJAB as recorded in Shia traditions.
Fadhila, maelezo, na njia ya usomaji wa ZIYARAH YA IMAM HUSAYN (A) TAREHE 1 YA RAJAB kama ilivyopokelewa katika mapokezi ya Shia.
اَلله اَكْبَرُ
You may then return to the side of the Imam's head to offer the (two-unit) prayer of ziyarah and pray Almighty Allah for yourself, your parents, and your brethren-in-faith. It is worth mentioning that Sayyid Ibn Tawus has mentioned a form of ziyarah of 'Ali al-Akbar (the elder son of Imam al- Husayn) and the other martyrs mentioning them by names. However, I will not cite this form hereinwith because of its lengthiness. RAJAB & 15TH OF SHABAN Fatimah alZahra', Allah is the Most Great.
Kisha unaweza kurudi upande wa kichwa cha Imam ili kuswali (rakaa mbili) za ziyarah na kujiombea Mwenyezi Mungu Mtukufu kwa ajili yako, wazazi wako, na ndugu zako katika imani. Inafaa kutaja kwamba Sayyid Ibn Tawus ametaja aina ya ziyarah ya Ali al-Akbar (mtoto mkubwa wa Imam al-Husayn) na mashahidi wengine akiwataja kwa majina. اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا ابْنَ رَسُوْلِ اللهِ
Peace be upon you, O son of Allah's Messenger. Peace be
Amani iwe juu yako ewe mwana wa Mtume wa Mwenyezi Mungu. Amani iwe
اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا ابْنَ خَاتَمِ النَّبِيِّيْنَ
upon you, O son of the seal of the Prophets. Peace be upon
juu yako ewe mwana wa muhuri wa Manabii. Amani iwe juu yake
اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا ابْنَ سَيِّدِ الْمُرْسَلِينَ
you, O son of the chief of the Messengers. Peace be upon
ewe mwana wa mkuu wa Mitume. Amani iwe juu yake
اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا ابْنَ سَيَّدِ الْوَصِيِّيْنَ
you, O son of the chief of the Prophets' successors. Peace
wewe ewe mwana wa wakuu wa warithi wa Mitume. Amani
اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَآ أَبَا عَبْدِ اللهِ
be upon you, O Abu-'Abdullah. Peace be upon you, O al-
iwe juu yako ewe Abu-'Abdullah. Amani iwe juu yako, Ewe al-
اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا حُسَيْنَ بْنَ عَلِيٌّ
Husayn the son of 'Ali. Peace be upon you, O son of Fatimah
Husein mtoto wa Ali. Amani iwe juu yako ewe mwana wa Fatimah
اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا ابْنَ فَاطِمَةَ سَيِّدَةٍ نِسَاءِ الْعَالَمِيْنَ
the Doyenne of the women of the world. Peace be upon you,
Doyenne ya wanawake wa ulimwengu. Amani iwe juu yako,
اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا وَلِيَّ اللهِ وَ ابْنَ وَلِيَّهِ
O saint of Allah and son of His saint. Peace be upon you, 0
Ewe mtakatifu wa Mwenyezi Mungu na mwana wa walii Wake. Amani iwe juu yenu, 0
اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا صَفِيَّ اللهِ وَ ابْنَ صَفِيِّهِ
select of Allah and son of His select. Peace be upon you, 0

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا حُجَةَ اللهِ وَ ابْنَ حُجَتِهِ
argument of Allah and son of His argument. Peace be upon

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا حَبِيْبَ اللهِ وَ ابْنَ حَبِيْبِهِ
you, O beloved by Allah and son of the beloved by Him.

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا سَفِيْرَ اللهِ وَ ابْنَ سَفِيْرِهِ
Peace be upon you, O representative of Allah and son of His

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا خَازِنَ الْكِتَابِ الْمَسْطُوْرِ
representative. Peace be upon you, O keeper of the inscribed
mwakilishi. Amani iwe juu yako ewe mlinzi wa yaliyoandikwa
اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا وَارِثَ التَّوْرَاةِ وَ الْإِنْجِيْلِ وَ الزَّبُوْرِ
Scripture. Peace be upon you, O inheritor of the Torah, the
Maandiko. Amani iwe juu yako ewe mrithi wa Taurati
اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَآ آَمِيْنَ الرَّحْمْنِ
Gospel, and the Psalms. Peace be upon you, O trustee of the
Injili, na Zaburi. Amani iwe juu yako ewe mdhamini wa Mwenyezi Mungu
اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا شَرِيْكَ الْقُرْاْنِ
All-beneficent God. Peace be upon you, O partner of the
Mungu mwingi wa rehema. Amani iwe juu yako ewe mshirika wa Mwenyezi Mungu
اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا عَمُوْدَ الدِّيْنِ
Qur'an. Peace be upon you, O support of the religion. Peace
Qur'an. Amani iwe juu yako ewe tegemeo la Dini. Amani
اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا بَابَ حِكْمَةِ رَبَّ الْعَالَمِيْنَ
be upon you, O door to the wisdom of the Lord of the worlds.

ٱَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا بَابَ جِطَةِ اِلَّذِيْ مَنْ دَخَلَهُ كَانَ مِنَ الْأمِنِينَ
Peace be upon you, O door of Forgiveness; he who enters from this door will be of the secured ones. Peace be upon

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا عَيْبَةً عِلْمِ اللهِ
you, O case of Allah's knowledge. Peace be upon you, O
ewe mwenye ujuzi wa Mwenyezi Mungu. Amani iwe juu yako, O
اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا مَوْضِعَ سِرِّ اللهِ
place of Allah's secret. Peace be upon you, O (the object of)
mahali pa siri ya Mwenyezi Mungu. Amani iwe juu yako, Ewe (lengo la)
اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا ثَارَ اللهِ وَ ابْنَ ثَارِهِ وَ الْوِثْرَ الْمَؤْثُوْرَ
Allah's vengeance and the violated sanctity. Peace be upon

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ وَ عَلَى الْاَرْوَاحِ الَّتِي حَلَّثْ بِفِنَآئِكَ وَ أَنَاخَتْ بِرَحْلِكَ
you and upon the souls that resided in your yard and settled down near your caravan. May Allah accept my father, my

بِآَبِي أَنْتَ وَ أَمِّنْ وَ نَفْسِيْ يَآ آَبَا عَبْدِ اللهِ
mother, and myself as ransoms for you, O Abu-'Abdullah. O Abu-'Abdullah, unbearable is the sorrow and never-racking is
mama, na mimi ni fidia kwako, ewe Abu-Abdullah. Ewe Abu-'Abdullah, huzuni haivumiliwi na kamwe haisumbui
لَقَدْ عَظُمَتِ الْمُصِيْبَةُ وَ جَلَّتِ الرَّزِيَّةُ بِكَ عَلَيْنَا وَ عَلَى جَمِيْعِ اَهْلِ الْإِسْلَامِ
the agony you put up with, for us and for all (true) Muslims. Curse of Allah be on the people who laid the basis of

فَلَعَنَ اللهُ أُمَةً اَسَّسَتْ اَسَاسَ الظَّلْمِ وَ الْجَوْرِ عَلَيْكُمْ اَهْلَ الْبَيْتِ
wronging and injustice against you the Household of the

وَلَعَنَ اللهُ أُمَّةً دَفَعَثْكُمْ عَنْ مَقَامِكُمْ
Prophet. Curse of Allah be upon the people who removed you
Mtume. Laana ya Mwenyezi Mungu iwe juu ya watu waliokuondoa
وَ اَزَالَثْكُمْ عَنْ مَرَاتِبِكُمُ الَّتِيْ رَتَّبَكُمُ اللهُ فِيْهَا
from your position and took you away from your actual ranks that Allah has chosen for you. May Allah accept my father,

بِآبِي أَنْتَ وَ أُمّيْ وَ نَفْسِيْ يَآ آَبَا عَبْدِ اللهِ
my mother, and me as ransoms for you, O Abu-'Abdullah. 1
mama yangu, na mimi ni fidia kwako, ewe Abu-'Abdullah. 1
اَشْهَدُ لَقَدِ اقْشَعَرَتْ لِدِمَائِكُمْ اَظِلَّةُ الْعَرْشِ مَعَ اَظِلَّةِ الْخَلائِقِ
bear witness that the shades of the Divine Throne shared the shades of the creatures in shuddering for the shedding of
shuhudia kwamba vivuli vya Arshi ya Mwenyezi Mungu vilishiriki vivuli vya viumbe kwa kutetemeka kwa kumwaga.
وَ بَكَثِكُمُ السَّمَآءُ وَ الْأَرْضُ وَ سُكَّانُ الْجِنَانِ وَ الْبَرِّ وَ الْبَحْرِ
your blood. The heavens, the earth, and the inhabitants of the gardens of Paradise, the lands, and the oceans-all those

صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْكَ عَدَدَ مَا فِي عِلْمِ اللهِ
wept for you. May Allah shower upon you blessings as many

لَبَّيْكَ دَاعِيَ اللهِ
as the number of what is there in the knowledge of Allah. Here l am at your service, O caller to Allah. If my body could

اِنْ كَانَ لَمْ يُجِبْكَ بَدَنِيْ عِنْدَ اسْتِغَاثَتِكَ وَ لِسَانِيْ عِنْدَ اسْتِنْصَارِكَ
not respond to your call when you called for aid and my tongue could not respond to your call for help, then my heart,
Sikuitikia wito wako ulipoomba msaada na ulimi wangu haukuweza kuitikia wito wako, basi moyo wangu.
فَقَدْ اَجَابَكَ قَلْبِيْ وَ سَمْعِي وَ بَصَرِيْ
my hearing, and my sight have verily responded to you. Glory
kusikia kwangu, na macho yangu yamekuitikia. Utukufu
سُبْحَانَ رَبِّنَا اِنْ كَانَ وَعْدُ رَبِّنَا لَمَفْعُوْلًا
be to our Lord! Most surely, the promise of our Lord was to

اَشْهَدُ أَنَّكَ قَدْ اَمَرْتَ بِالْقِسْطِ وَ الْعَدْلِ وَ دَعَوْتَ اِلَيْهِمَا
enjoined justice and fairness and you called to them. And

وَ أَنَّكَ صَادِقٌ صِدِّيْقٌ، صَدَقْتَ فِيْمَا دَعَوْتَ اِلَيْهِ
you are verily honest and veracious, and you were truthful in

وَ أَنَّكَ ثَارُ اللهِ فِي الْاَرْضِ
that for which you called. And you are verily (the object of)

وَ اَشْهَدُ أَنَّكَ قَدْ بَلَّغْتَ عَنِ اللهِ
Allah's vengeance on the earth. And I bear witness that you

وَ عَنْ جَدِّكَ رَسُوْلِ اللهِ
did convey on behalf of Allah, on behalf of your grandfather
ulifikisha kwa niaba ya Mwenyezi Mungu kwa niaba ya babu yako
وَ عَنْ أَبِيْكَ آَمِيْرِ الْمُؤْمِنِيْنَ
the Messenger of Allah, on behalf of your father the
Mtume wa Mwenyezi Mungu kwa niaba ya baba yako
وَ عَنْ آَخِيْكَ الْحَسَنِ
Commander of the Faithful, and on behalf of your brother al-
Amirul-Muuminina, na kwa niaba ya ndugu yako
وَ نَصَحْتَ وَ جَاهَدْتَ فِيْ سَبِيْلِ اللهِ
Hasan. And you advised and strove in the way of Allah and
Hassan. Na ukausia na ukapigana Jihadi katika Njia ya Mwenyezi Mungu na
وَ عَبَدْتَهُ مُخْلِصًا حَثِّى آَتَاكَ الْيَقِيْنُ
you served Him sincerely until death came upon you. So, may
ulimtumikia kwa unyofu mpaka mauti yakakujia. Kwa hivyo, inaweza
فَجَزَاكَ اللهُ خَيْرَ جَزَآءِ السَّابِقِيْنَ
Allah award you with the best of the rewarding of the foremost (to deeds of goodness). And may Allah bless and
Mwenyezi Mungu atakupa malipo bora ya waliotangulia. Na Mwenyezi Mungu awabariki na
وَ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْكَ وَ سَلَّمَ تَسْلِيْمًا
exalt you thoroughly. O Allah, (please) send blessings upon
kukutukuza kabisa. Ewe Mwenyezi Mungu, (tafadhali) tuma baraka juu yake
اَللَّهُمَّ صَلَّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَأَلِ مُحَمَّدٍ وَ صَلِّ عَلَى الْحُسَيْنِ الْمَظْلُوْمِ
Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad, and send
Muhammad na Aali Muhammad, na watume
الشَّهيْدِ الرَّشِيْدِ
blessings upon al-Husayn the wronged, the martyr, the
baraka zimshukie Husein aliyedhulumiwa, shahidi, na
قَتِيْلِ الْعَبَرَاتِ
orthodox, the slain one whom is wept heavily, and the object
orthodox, aliyeuawa ambaye analia sana, na kitu
وَ اَسِيْرِ الْكُرُبَاتِ
of agonies with such blessings that are increasing, growing,
mateso na baraka kama hizo zinazoongezeka, kukua,
صَلَاةً نَامِيَةً زَاكِيَةً مُبَارَكَةًّ
and sacred; the first of which ascends and the last of which

يَضْعَدُ اَوَلَهَا وَ لَا يَنْفَدُ أخِرُهَا
is infinite, and with the best blessings that You ever sent on

اَفْضَلَ مَا صَلَّيْتَ عَلَى آَحَدٍ مِنْ آَوْلَادِ اَنْبِيَآئِكَ الْمُرْسَلِيْنَ

يَآ اِلْهَ الْعَالَمِيْنَ.
sons. O God of the worlds!
wana. Ewe Mungu wa walimwengu!
اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ اَيُّهَا الصِّدِّيْقُ الطَّيِّبُ
Peace be upon you, O veracious, pure, immaculate, dear,
Amani iwe juu yako, Ewe mkweli, safi, safi, mpendwa,
الزَّكِيُّ الْحَبِيْبُ الْمُقَرَّبُ
وَ ابْنَ رَيْحَانَةٍ رَسُوْل اللّهِ
favorite, and son of the basil of Allah's Messenger. Peace be
kipenzi, na mwana wa Basil wa Mtume wa Mwenyezi Mungu. Amani iwe
اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ مِنْ شَهِيْدٍ مُخْتَسِبٍ
وَ رَخْمَةُ اللهِ وَ بَرَكَاتُهُ
upon you as you are steadfast martyr. Allah's mercy and
juu yako kama wewe ni Shahidi thabiti. Rehema za Mwenyezi Mungu na
مَا اَكْرَمَ مَقَامَكَ وَ اَشْرَقَ مُثْقَلَبَكَ
blessings be upon you. How noble your position is and how
baraka ziwe juu yako. Jinsi msimamo wako ulivyo mzuri na vipi
اَشْهَدُ لَقَدْ شَكَرَ اللهُ سَعْيَكَ
honorable your seat is. I bear witness that Allah thanked you
heshima kiti chako ni. Nashuhudia kwamba Mwenyezi Mungu alikushukuru
وَ أَجْزَلَ ثَوَابَكَ
for your efforts, magnified your rewards, and joined you to
kwa juhudi zako, akakuza thawabu zako, na akajiunga nawe
وَ اَلْحَقَكَ بِالذَّرْوَةِ الْعَالِيَةِ
حَيْثُ الشَّرَفُ كُلَّ الشَّرَفِ
the exalted summit where there is the entire honor in the

وَ فِي الغَرَفِ السَّامِيَةِ
elevated chambers. Similarly, He had bestowed upon you

كَمَا مَنَّ عَلَيْكَ مِنْ قَبْلُ وَ جَعَلَكَ مِنْ اَهْل الْبَيْتِ
and made you one of the members of the Household of the

Mtume ambaye Mwenyezi Mungu alimwondolea uchafu na akamtakasa kwa utakaso kabisa. Baraka za Mwenyezi Mungu, rehema,
صَلَوَاتُ اللّهِ عَلَيْكَ وَ رَحْمَةُ اللهِ وَ بَرَكَاتُهُ وَ رِضْوَانُهُ
benedictions, and pleasure be upon you. So, O pure master,
baraka, na furaha ziwe juu yenu. Kwa hivyo, Ee bwana safi,
فَاشفَعْ آَيُهَا السَّيَّدُ الطَاهِرُ إِلَى رَبَّكَ
(please) intercede for me with your Lord so that He may unburden and relieve me from the loads (of sins) that l carry
(tafadhali) niombee kwa Mola wako Mlezi ili anifungue na anipunguzie mizigo (ya dhambi) ninayoibeba.
فِيْ حَطَ الْاَثْقَالِ عَنْ ظَهْرِيْ وَ تَخْفِيْفِهَا عَنَّيْ
on my back. And (please) have mercy upon my humbleness
mgongoni mwangu. Na (tafadhali) urehemu unyenyekevu wangu
وَ ازحَمْ ذُلِّي وَخُضُوْعِي لَكَ وَ لِلسَّيَّدِ آَبِيْكَ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْكُمَا.
and submission to you and to the master, your father. May Allah bless you both.
na kujisalimisha kwako na kwa bwana baba yako. Mwenyezi Mungu awabariki nyote wawili.
زَادَ اللهُ فِي شَرَفِكُمْ فِي الْأَخِرَةِ
May Allah increase your honor in the Hereafter in the same
Mwenyezi Mungu akuzidishie heshima huko Akhera katika hayo hayo
كَمَا شَرَّفَكُمْ فِيْ الدُّنَيَا
way as He honored you in this world and may He bless you in
jinsi alivyokuheshimu katika ulimwengu huu na akubariki ndani
وَ اَسْعَدَكُمْ كَمَآ اَسْعَدَ بِكُمْ
the same way as He blessed others on account of you. And l
jinsi alivyowabariki wengine kwa ajili yako. Na l
وَ اَشْهَدُ أَنَّكُمْ اَعْلَامُ الدِّيْنِ
bear witness that you are the signposts of the religion and
Shuhudieni kwamba nyinyi ndio alama za Dini na
وَ نَجُوْمُ الْعَالَمِيْنَ
the stars of the worlds. Peace and Allah's mercy and
nyota za ulimwengu. Amani na rehema za Mwenyezi Mungu na
وَ السَّلَامُ عَلَيْكُمْ وَ رَحْمَةُ اللهِ وَ بَرَكَاتُهُ.

Peace be upon you all, O supporters of Allah supporters of
Amani iwe juu yenu nyote enyi wafuasi wa Mwenyezi Mungu
وَ اَنْصَارَ رَسُوْلِهِ
His Messenger, supporters of 'Ali the son of Abu-Talib
Mtume Wake, wafuasi wa Ali mwana wa Abu-Talib
وَ اَنْصَارَ عَلِيَّ بْنِ اَبِيْ طَالِبِ وَ اَنْصَارَ فَاطِمَةَ
وَ اَنْصَارَ الْحَسَنِ وَ الْحُسَيْنِ
supporters of Fatimah, supporters of al-Hasan and al-
wafuasi wa Fatimah, wafuasi wa al-Hasan na al-
وَ أَنْصَارَ الإِسْلَامِ
Husayn, and supporters of Islam. I bear witness that you
Husein na wafuasi wa Uislamu. Nashuhudia kwamba wewe
اَشْهَدُ أَنَّكُمْ لَقَدْ نَصَحْتُمْ للهِ
indeed did sincerely for the sake of Allah and strove sincerely
Hakika walifanya ikhlasi kwa ajili ya Mwenyezi Mungu, na wakapigana Jihadi kwa ikhlasi
وَ جَاهَدْتُمْ فِيْ سَبِيْلِهِ
in His way. So, may Allah reward you on behalf of Islam and
kwa njia Yake. Basi, Mwenyezi Mungu akulipe kwa niaba ya Uislamu na
فَجَزَاكُمُ اللهُ عَنِ [مِنَ] الْإِسْلَامِ وَ اَهْلِهِ اَفْضَلَ الْجَزَآءِ
its people with the best of rewarding. By Allah I swear, you
watu wake wenye thawabu bora. Naapa kwa Mwenyezi Mungu
فُزْتُمْ وَ اللهِ فَوْزًا عَظِيْمًا
did win a great success. I whish l were with you so that l
imepata mafanikio makubwa. Natamani ningekuwa nawe ili l
يَآ لَيْتَنِي كُنْتُ مَعَكُمْ فَافُوْزَ فَوْزًا عَظِيْمًا
would win a great success. I bear witness that you are alive
ingeshinda mafanikio makubwa. Ninashuhudia kwamba uko hai
آَشْهَدُ اَنَّكُمْ اَخِيَآءً عِنْدَ رَبَّكُمْ تُرْزَقُوْنَ
with your Lord, receiving sustenance. I bear witness that you
kwa Mola wako Mlezi, mwenye riziki. Nashuhudia kwamba wewe
اَشْهَدُ أَنَّكُمُ الشُّهَدَاءُ وَ السُّعَدَآءُ
are the true martyrs and the true happy ones and you are the
ndio mashahidi wa kweli na wenye furaha ya kweli na wewe ndiye
وَ أَنَّكُمُ الْفَائِزُوْنَ فِيْ دَرَجَاتِ الْعُلَى
winners in the most elevated ranks. Peace and Allah's mercy
washindi katika viwango vya juu zaidi. Amani na rehema za Mwenyezi Mungu
وَ السَّلَامُ عَلَيْكُمْ وَ رَحْمَةُ اللهِ وَ بَرَكَاتُهُ.
and blessings be upon you. You may then return to the side of the Imam's head to offer the (twounit) prayer of ziyarah and pray Almighty Allah for yourself, your parents, and your brethreninfaith. It is worth mentioning that Sayyid Ibn Tawus has mentioned a form of ziyarah of 'Ali alAkbar (the elder son of Imam alHusayn) and the other martyrs mentioning them by names. However, I will not cite this form hereinwith because of its lengthiness.
na baraka ziwe juu yako. Kisha unaweza kurudi upande wa kichwa cha Imam ili kuswali (viwili viwili) vya ziyarah na kujiombea Mwenyezi Mungu Mtukufu kwa ajili yako, wazazi wako, na ndugu zako katika imani. Inafaa kutaja kwamba Sayyid Ibn Tawus ametaja aina ya ziyarah ya Ali alAkbar (mtoto mkubwa wa Imam alHusayn) na mashahidi wengine akiwataja kwa majina. Hata hivyo, sitaitaja fomu hii humu kwa sababu ya urefu wake.
