Virtues, description, and recitation method of SEVENTH ZIYARAH as recorded in Shia traditions.

اَللهُ اَكْبَرُ

Then, you may pray Almighty Allah to grant you your personal

سَلَاَمُ اللهِ وَ سَلَامُ مَلَائِكَتِهِ الْمُقَرِّبِيْنَ

requests, bid farewell to the Imam ('a), and leave. Allah is the Most Great.

وَ اَنْبِيَآئِهِ الْمُرْسَلِيْنَ وَ عِبَادِهِ الصَّالِحِيْنَ

Peace of Allah and peace of His Archangels, His missioned

وَ جَمِيْعِ الشَّهَدَاءِ وَ الصِّدِّيْقِيْنَ

Prophets, and His righteous saints, and Ipeace ofl all the

عَلَيْكَ يَآ آَمِيْرَ الْمُؤْمِنِيْنَ

martyrs and the veracious be upon you, O Commander of the

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَى اَدَمَ صِفْوَةِ اللهِ

Faithful. Peace be upon Adam the choice of Allah. Peace be

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَى نُوْحٍ نَبِيَّ اللهِ

upon Noah the prophet of Allah. Peace be upon Abraham the

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَى اِبْرَاهِيْمَ خَلِيْلِ اللهِ

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَى مُؤْسى كَلِيْمِ اللهِ

intimate friend of Allah. Peace be upon Moses the spoken to

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَى عِيسى رُوْحِ اللهِ

by Allah. Peace be upon Jesus the Spirit of Allah. Peace be

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ حَبِيْبِ اللهِ

upon Muhammad the beloved by Allah. Allah's mercy and

وَ رَحْمَةُ اللهِ وَ بَرَكَاتُهُ

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَى اسْمِ اللهِ الرَّضِيِّ

blessings be upon them, too. Peace be upon the pleased

وَ وَجْهِهِ العَلِيِّ

وَ صِرَاطِهِ السَّوِيِّ

name of Allah, His most elevated Face, and His straight path.

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَى الْمُهَذَّبِ الصَّفِيَّ

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَى اَبِي الْحَسَنِ عَلِيَّ بْنِ اَبِيْ طَالِبِ

Peace be upon the refined, purified one. Peace be upon Abu'l-

وَ رَحْمَةُ اللهِ وَ بَرَكَاتُهُ

Hasan, 'Ali the son of Abu-Talib. Allah's mercy and blessings

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَى خَالِص الاخِلَاءِ

be upon him, too. Peace be upon the choicest friend.

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَى الْمَخْصُوْص بِسَيِّدَةِ النَّسَاءِ،

Peace be upon the one particularly married to the doyenne of

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَى الْمَوْلَوْدِ فِي الْكَعْبَةِ

the women [of the world]. Peace be upon the one born in the

الْمُزَوَّجِ فِيْ السَّمَاءِ

Ka'bah and married in the heavens. Peace be upon the lion of

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَى اَسَدِ اللَهِ فِي الْوَغَى

Allah in battlefields. Peace be upon the one by whom

ٱَلسَّلَامُ عَلَى مَنْ شُرِّفَتْ بِهِ مَكَّةُ وَ مِنْى

Makkah and Mina have been honored. Peace be upon the

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَى صَاحِبِ الْحَوْضِ وَ حَامِلِ اللَّوَآءِ

one in charge of the Divine Pond and the bearer of the

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَى خَامِسِ اَهْلِ الْعَبَاءِ

pennon [on the Resurrection Day]. Peace be upon the fifth of

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَى الْبَآئِتِ عَلَى فِرَاشِ النَّبِيَّ

the Cloak Members. Peace be upon the one who replaced

وَ مُفْدِيْهِ بِنَفْسِهِ مِنَ الْاَغْدَآءِ

the Prophet in his bed and thus sacrificed himself for the

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَى قَالِعِ بَابٍ خَيْبَرَ وَ الدَّاجِي بِهِ فِي الْفَضَآءِ

Prophet against the enemies. Peace be upon the one who plucked up the gate of Khaybar city and threw it far away in

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَى مُكَلَّمِ الْفِثيَةِ فِيْ كَهِفِهِمْ بِلِسَانِ الْأَنْبِياءِ

the air. Peace be upon the one who spoke to the Seven Sleepers of Ephesus in their cave with the language of the

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَى مُتْبِعِ الْقَلِيْبِ فِي الْفَلَا

Prophets. Peace be upon the one who caused a ruined well

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَى قَالِعِ الصَّخْرَةِ

in the desert to spring forth with water. Peace be upon the

وَ قَدْ عَجَزَ عَنْهَا الرِّجَالُ الْاشِدَّاءُ

one who moved a rock after strong men could not even move

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَى مُخَاطِبِ التُّعْبَانِ

it. Peace be upon the one who spoke to a serpent from the

عَلَى مِنْبَرِ الْكُوْفَةِ بِلِسَانِ الْفُصَّحَاءِ،

minbar (pulpit) of al-Kufah Mosque with an eloquent

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَى مُخَاطِبِ الذَّئْبِ

language. Peace be upon the one who spoke to a wolf and

وَ مُكَلَّمِ الْجُمْجُمَةِ بِالنَّهْرَوَانِ

spoke to a skull whose bones were decayed in al-Nahrawan.

وَ قَدْ نَخِرَتِ الْعِظَامُ بِالْبِلْى

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَى صَاحِبِ الشَّفَاعَةِ فِيْ يَوْمِ الْوَرْى

Peace be upon the one granted the right of intercession on

وَ رَحْمَةُ اللَهِ وَ بَرَكَاتُهُ

the Assembly Day. Allah's mercy and blessings be upon him,

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَى الْإِمَامِ الزَّكِيَّ حَلِيْفِ الْمِحْرَابِ

too. Peace be upon the pure leader who stuck to the mihrab

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَى صَاحِبِ الْمُعْجِزِ الْبَاهِرِ

(prayer niche). Peace be upon the owner of astounding

وَ النَّاطِقِ بِالْحِكْمَةِ وَ الصَّوَابِ

miracles and who speaks with wisdom and sagacity. Peace

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَى مَنْ عِنْدَهُ تَأْوِيْلُ الْمُحكَمِ وَ الْمُتَشَابِهِ

be upon the one who holds the interpretation of the decisive

وَ عِنْدَهُ أُمُّ الْكِتَابِ

and the allegorical [verses of the Holy Qur'an] and holds the

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَى مَنْ رُدَّثْ عَلَيْهِ الشَّمْسُ

Basis of the [Holy] Book. Peace be upon the one to whom the

جِيْنَ تَوَارَثْ بِالْحِجَابِ

sun was returned after it had disappeared beyond the veils of

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَى مُخْيِي اللَّيْلِ الْبَهِيْمِ بِالتَّهَجّدِ وَ الْإِكْتِيَابِ

night. Peace be upon the one who spent the dark nights with

ٱَلسَّلَامُ عَلَى مَنْ خَاطَبَهُ جَبْرَئِيْلُ بِاِمْرَةِ الْمُؤْمِنِيْنَ بِغَيْرِ ارْتِيَابٍ

acts of worship and pondération. Peace be upon the one who was addressed by Archangel Gabriel as the Commander

وَ رَحْمَةُ اللهِ وَ بَرَكَاتُهُ،

of the Faithful, without any doubt. Allah's mercy and

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَى سَيّدِ السَّادَاتِ

blessings be upon him, too. Peace be upon the master of

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَى صَاجِبِ الْمُفْجِزَاتِ

masters. Peace be upon the owner of miracles. Peace be upon the one whose campaigns in the battles were a source

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَى مَنْ عَجِبَ مِنْ حَمَلَاتِهِ فِي الْحُرُوْبِ مَلَائِكَةُ سَبْعِ سَمَاوَاتٍ

of astonishment for the angels of seven heavens. Peace be

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَى مَنْ نَاجَى الرَّسُوْلَ

upon the one who, when he consulted the Holy Messenger,

فَقَدَّمَ بَيْنَ يَدَيْ نَجْوَاهُ صَدَقَاتٍ

offered something in charity before his consultation. Peace

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَى اَمِيْرِ الْجُيُوْشِ وَ صَاحِبِ الْغَزَوَاتِ

be upon the commander of the armies and the leader of the battles.

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَى مُخَاطِبٍ ذِئْبِ الْفَلَوَاتِ

Peace be upon the one who spoke to a wolf in the desert.

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَى نُوْرِ اللهِ فِي الظَّلُمَاتِ

Peace be upon the light of Allah in murk. Peace be upon the

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَى مَنْ رُدَّثْ لَهُ الشَّمْسُ

فَقَضْى مَا فَاتَهُ مِنَ الصَّلَاةِ

one to whom the sun was returned so that he could made up

وَ رَحْمَةُ اللهِ وَ بَرَكَاتُهُ

the prayer that he had missed. Allah's mercy and blessings

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَى آَمِيرِ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ

be upon him, too. Peace be upon the Commander of the

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَى سَيِّدِ الْوَصِيِّيْنَ

Faithful. Peace be upon the chief of the Prophets'

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَى اِمَامِ الْمُتَقِيْنَ

successors. Peace be upon the example of the pious ones.

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَى وَارِثِ عِلْمِ النَّبِيِّيْنَ،

Peace be upon the inheritor of the Prophets' knowledge.

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَى يَعْسُوْبٍ الدِّيْنِ

Peace be upon the head of the religion. Peace be upon the

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَى عِضمَةِ الْمُؤْمِنِيْنَ

shelter of the believers. Peace be upon the pattern of the

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَى قُدْوَة الصَّادِقِيْنَ

وَ رَحْمَةُ اللهِ وَ بَرَكَاتُهُ

veracious ones. Allah's mercy and blessings be upon him,

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَى حَجَةٍ الْابْرَارِ

too. Peace be upon the argument of the upright ones. Peace

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَى أَبِي الْاَئْمَةِ الْاَظْهَارِ

be upon the father of the Immaculate Imams. Peace be upon the one whom was given [the sword ofl Dhu'l-Faqar

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَى الْمَخْصُوْصِ بِذِي الْفَقَارِ

exclusively. Peace be upon the one who shall water his

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَى سَاقِيْ اَوْلِيَآئِهِ مِنْ حَوْضِ النَّبِيِّ الْمُخْتَارِ

adherents from the Pond of the Chosen Prophet, may Allah's

صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَ ألِهِ مَا اطَّرَدَ اللَّيْلُ وَ النَّهَارُ

blessings be upon him and his Household as long as there is

ٱَلسَّلَامُ عَلَى النَّبَا الْعَظِيْمِ

night and day coming after one another. Peace be upon the

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَى مَنْ اَنْزَلَ اللهُ فِيْهِ

Great News. Peace be upon the one about whom the following verse was revealed by Almighty Allah: "And, indeed,

وَ اِنَّهُ فِي أَمَّ الْكِتَابِ لَدَيْنَا لَعَلِيٌّ حَكِيْمٌ

in the origin of the Book with Us, it is decided that 'Ali is

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَى صِرَاطِ اللهِ الْمُسْتَقِيْمِ

wise." Peace be upon the straight path of Allah. Peace be

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَى الْمَنْعُوْتِ فِي التَّوْرَاةِ وَ الْإِنْجِيْلِ وَ الْقُرْانِ الْحَكِيمِ

upon the one whose characteristics are mentioned in the

وَ رَحْمَةُ اللهِ وَ بَرَكَاتُهُ.

Torah, the Bible, and the Wise Qur'an. Allah's mercy and

يَا اَمِيْنَ اللّهِ

يَا حُجَّةَ اللهِ

يَا وَلِيَّ اللهِ

blessings be upon him, too.

يَا صرَاطَ اللّهِ

O trustee of Allah! O argument of Allah! O saint of Allah! o

زَارَكَ عَبْدُكَ وَ وَلِيُّكَ

path to Allah!I, your servant and adherent, have visited you,

اللّائِذُ بِقَبْرِكَ

resorted to you tomb, resided in your courtyard, sought

وَ الْمُنِيخُ رَحْلَهُ بِفِنَآئِكَ

الْمُتَقَرِّبُ اِلَى اللهِ عَزَّ وَ جَلِّ

nearness to Allah the Almighty and All-majestic in the name

وَ الْمُسْتَشْفِعُ بِكَ إِلَى اللهِ

of you, and sought your intercession for me before Allah, 1

زِيَارَةَ مَنْ هَجَرَ فِيْكَ صَحْبَهُ

am visiting you so sincerely that I have deserted my friends

وَ جَعَلَكَ بَعْدَ اللهِ حَسْبَهُ

for so and I have relied upon you after Almighty Allah. l bear

آَشْهَدُ اَنَّكَ الطُّوْرُ

witness that you are the Mountain Tur (mount of revelation),

وَ الْكِتَابُ الْمَسْطُوْرُ

the Written Book, the outstretched fine parchment, and the

وَ الرَّقُّ الْمَنْشُوْرُ

وَ بَخْرُ الْعِلْمِ الْمَسْجُوْرُ

swollen ocean of knowledge. O saint of Allah! Indeed, each

يَا وَلِيَّ اللّهِ

إِنَّ لِكُلَّ مَزُوْرٍ عِنَايَةً فِيْمَنْ زَارَهُ وَ قَصَدَهُ وَ أَتَاهُ

visited person is expected to pay special attention to the one

وَ آَنَا وَلِيُكَ وَ قَدْ حَطَظتُ رَحْلِيْ بِفِنَآئِكَ

Who visits and conies to him. 1, your adherent, have resided in

وَ لَجَأْتُ اِلى حَرَمِكَ

your courtyard, resorted to your holy precinct, and had

وَ لَذْتُ بِضَرِيْحِكَ

recourse to your tomb, because I have full acquaintance with

لِعِلْمِي بِعَظِيْمِ مَنْزِلَتِكَ وَ شَرَفٍ حَضْرَتِكَ

the great standing that you enjoy and the gear honor that you

وَ قَذْ اَثْقَلَتِ الذُّنُوْبُ ظَهْرِيْ

hold. My sins have overburdened my back and deprived me

وَ مَنَعَثْنِي رُقَادِيْ

فَمَا آَجِدُ حِرْزًا وَ لَا مَعْقِلَا

of sleep. Therefore, I can find no shelter, no haven, and no

وَ لَا مَلْجَأُ اَلْجَأُ اِلَيْهِ اِلَّا اللهُ تَعَالْى

refuge to which I resort save Almighty Allah, my begging you

وَ تَوَسُّلِيْ بِكَ اِليْهِ

to be my mediator to Him, and my seeking your intercession

وَ اسْتِشفَاعِي بِكَ لَدَيْهِ

for me before Him. I am thus residing in your courtyard and

فَهَا اَنَا نَازِلَ بِفِنَائِكَ

وَ لَكَ عِنْدَ اللهِ جَاهٌ عَطِيْهٌ

you enjoy a great standing with Almighty Allah as well as an

وَ مَقَامٌ كَرِيْمٌ

honorable position, therefore, (please) intercede for me

فَاشفَع لِيْ عِنْدَ اللهِ رَبَّكَ يَا مَؤْلَايَ

before your Lord, O master!

اَللَّهُمّ إِنَّي اَتَقَرَّبُ اِلَيْكَ

O Allah, I do seek nearness to You, O most Hearing of all

يَا اسْمَعَ السَّامِعِيْنَ

وَ يَا أَبْصَرَ النَّاظِرِيْنَ

those who can hear! O most Seeing of all those who can see!

وَ يَآ أَسْرَعَ الْحَاسِبِيْنَ

O quickest in reckon! O most Generous of all those who are

وَ يَآ اَجْوَدَ الْاَجْوَدِيْنَ

generous, (I seek nearness to You) in the name of

بِمُحَمَدٍ خَاتَمِ النَّبِيِّيْنَ

Muhammad, the seal of the Prophets and Your Messengers

رَسُوْلِكَ اِلَى الْعَالَمِيْنَ

to all created beings, and in the name of his brother and

وَ بِاَخِيْهِ وَ ابْنِ عَمِّهِ

cousin, the hero and erudite, the manifestly knowledgeable,

الْانْزَعِ الْبَطِيْنِ

الْعَالِمِ الْمُبِيْنِ

عَلِيِّ آَمِيْرِ الْمُؤْمِنِيْنَ

'Ali, the Commander of the Faithful, and (in the names of) al-

وَ الْحَسَنِ وَ الْحُسَيْنِ الْإِمَامَيْنِ الشَّهِيْدَيْنِ

Hasan and al-Husayn, the two martyred Imams, and (in the

وَ بِعَلِيِّ بْنِ الْحُسَيْنِ زَيْنِ الْعَابِدِيْنَ

name of) 'Ali ibn al-Husayn, the adornment of the

وَ بِمُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَلِيَّ بَاقِرٍ عِلْمِ الْاَوّلِيْنَ

worshippers, and (in the name of) Muhammad ibn 'Ali, the one who split the knowledge of the old ages, and (in the

وَ بِجَعْفَرِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ زَكِيِّ الصِّدِّيْقِيْنَ

name of) Ja'far ibn Muhammad, the purest among the

وَ بِمُؤْسَى بْنِ جَعْفَرِ الْكَاظِمِ الْمُبِيْنِ [وَ حَبِيسِ الظَالِمِينَ]

veracious ones, and (in the name of) Musa ibn Ja'far, the manifestly suppressor (of rage) and the imprisoned by the

وَ بِعَلِيِّ بْنِ مُؤْسَى الرِّضَا الْاَمِيْنِ

oppressors, and (in the name of) Ali ibn Musa, the pleased

وَ بِمُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَلِيَّ الْجَوَادِ عَلَمِ الْمُهْتَدِيْنَ

and trusted, and (in the name of) Muhammad ibn 'Ali, the magnanimous and the epitome of the guided ones (to the true path), and (in the name of) 'Ali ibn Muhammad, the

وَ بِعَلِيِّ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ الْبَرِّ الصَّادِقِ سَيِّدِ الْعَابِدِيْنَ

upright, the veracious, and the master of worshippers, and (in

وَ بِالْحَسَنِ بْنِ عَلِيَّ الْعَسْكَرِيِّ وَلِيِّ الْمُؤْمِنِيْنَ

the name of) al-Hasan ibn 'Ali al'Askari, the chief of the believers, and (in the name of) the Successor, the Argument,

وَ بِالْخَلَفِ الْحُجَّةِ صَاحِبِ الْأَمْرِ مُظْهِرِ الْبَرَاهِيْنِ

the Patron of the Affair, and the Demonstrator of Proofs, (l

آَنْ تَكْشِفَ مَا بِيْ مِنَ الْهُمُوْمِ

beseech You in the name of all these) to relieve the

وَ تَكْفِيَنِي شَرَّ الْبَلَآءِ الْمَخْثُوْمِ

grievances that I experience, to save me from the evils of

وَ تُجِيْرَنِيْ مِنَ النَّارِ ذَاتِ السَّمُوْمِ

predetermined ordeals, and to release me from the hot- winded fire, (l beseech You) in the name of Your mercy, O

بِرَحْمَتِكَ يَآ اَرْحَمَ الرَّاحِمِيْنَ.

most Merciful of all those who show mercy! Then, you may pray Almighty Allah to grant you your personal requests, bid farewell to the Imam ('a), and leave.
