Al-A’la (الأعلى)
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
﴿١﴾
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
﴿٢﴾
Glorify the Name of your Lord, the Most High,
﴿٣﴾
Who created and proportioned,
﴿٤﴾
Who destined and guided,
﴿٥﴾
Who brings out the pasture,
﴿٦﴾
Then turns it into withered black stubble.
﴿٧﴾
We will make you recite, so you will not forget,
﴿٨﴾
Except what Allah wills. He certainly knows what is open and what is hidden.
﴿٩﴾
And We will ease you toward ease.
So remind, if the reminder should benefit;
He who fears will be reminded.
But the wretched one will avoid it—
Who will burn in the greatest Fire,
Where he will neither die nor live.
Successful indeed is the one who purifies himself,
And mentions the Name of his Lord and prays.
But you prefer the life of this world,
While the Hereafter is better and more lasting.
This is certainly in the former scriptures—
The scriptures of Abraham and Moses.
