صلاة الميت مروي عن الأئمة المعصومين (عليهم السلام)

Swalah kama ilivyonukuliwa katika vitabu sahihi vya dua na mapokezi ya Maimamu Watakatifu ('a).
صلاة الميت واجبة على كل مسلم بالغ عاقل يعلم بموت شخص ما، فإذا صلى مسلم واحد، أعفي الآخرون من هذه الفريضة. يجب على المؤدي الوقوف باتجاه القبلة إلى يمين رأس الميت، ورفع اليدين عند التكبير وخمس تكبيرات مع أقوال مرافقة لكل تكبيرة، وهي شهادة أن لا إله إلا الله، الصلاة على محمد وآل محمد، طلب المغفرة للمؤمنين، والمغفرة للميت. يُستحب الطهارة أو التيمم إذا لم تتوفر المياه.
The Deceased Prayer (Swalah-e-Mayyit) is obligatory on every adult, sane Muslim who knows of someone's death. If one Muslim performs it, others are exempt. The performer must face the Qiblah, stand to the right of the deceased’s head, raise hands at each of the five Takbirs, and recite accompanying phrases: testimony of faith, blessings on Muhammad and his Household, forgiveness for the believers, and forgiveness for the deceased. Performing wudu is recommended, but tayammum is valid if water is unavailable.
Swala la Mayyit (Swalah-e-Mayyit) ni lazima kwa kila Mwislamu mzima na mwenye akili anayejua kuhusu kifo cha mtu. Ikiwa Mwislamu mmoja analifanya, wengine wanapewa msamaha. Mtekelezaji lazima awakilie Qibla, asimame upande wa kulia wa kichwa cha marehemu, ainyanyue mikono katika kila moja ya Takbirs tano, na aseme maneno yanayofuatana: shahada ya Imani, baraka kwa Muhammad na Ahlaihi, msamaha kwa waumini, na msamaha kwa marehemu. Kufanya wudu kunashauriwa, lakini tayammum ni halali ikiwa maji hayapo.
