Virtues, description, and recitation method of IMAM HUSAYN'S DUA IN PRAYERS as recorded in Shia traditions.

اَللَّهُمَّ مَنْ اَوْى اِلْى مَاوَى فَانْتَ مَأْوَاى

In his book entitled Muhaj al-Da'awat, Sayyid Ibn Tawus has compiled the Holy Imams' supplications in the ritual prayers (i.e. qunut). However, to avoid lengthiness, I have mentioned the previous supplication only. O Allah, if someone may resort to a shelter, then my shelter is You.

وَ مَنْ لَجَآءَ اِلَى مَلْجَآءِ فَانْتَ مَلْجَاِى

If someone may seek refuge in an asylum, they my asylum is You.

اَللّهُمَّ صَلَّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ ال مُحَمَّدٍ

O Allah, (please) bless Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad,

وَاسْمَعْ نِدَائِىْ

listen to my call,

وَ اَجِبْ دُعَآئِىْ

respond to my prayer,

وَاجْعَلْ مَابِى عِنْدَكَ وَ مَثْوَاىَ

decide my final return and abode to be with You,

وَاخرُسْنِى فِى بَلْوَاىَ

and guard me, when I am afflicted by an ordeal,

مِنِ افْتِتَانِ الْاِمْتَحَانِ

against failure in the trial

وَ لَمَةِ الشَّيْطَانِ

and against the influence of Satan,

بِعَظَمَتِكَ الَّتِن لَا يَشُوْبُهَا وَلَعُ نَفْسِ بِتَفْتِيْنٍ

Iplease do it) in the name of Your greatness that is admixed with neither infatuating fondness nor assumed and transitory apparition

وَ لَا وَارِدُ طَيْفِ بِتَظْنِيْنِ

and is not charmed by a joyful situation, until You decide to

وَلَا يَلُمُّ بِهَا فَرَحْ حَتِّى تَقْلِبَنِى اِلَيْكَ بِاِرَادَتِكَ

take me to You by Your will

غَيْرَ ظَنِيْنٍ وَلَا مَظْنُوْنٍ

while I am neither accused, suspect,

وَلَا مُرَابٍ وَ لَا مُرْتَابٍ

suspicious, nor doubtful.

اِنَّكَ اَرْحَمُ الرَّاحِمِيْنَ.
