The Supplication On Mondays
The Supplication On Mondays as recorded in authentic Shia supplication manuals and traditions of the Holy Infallibles ('a).
In the Name of Allah, the All-beneficent, the All-merciful
All praise belongs to Allah, who did not call upon anyone to witness when He created the heavens and the earth,
nor did He take a helper when He brought forth the souls.
He was not partnered in divinity, nor was He assisted in His oneness.
Tongues fall short of reaching the limit of His description, and minds fall short of comprehending the essence of His knowledge.
The tyrants humble themselves before His awe, and faces bow down in fear of Him.
Every great one submits to His greatness.
So, to You belongs praise—continuous, harmonious, and ever-renewing.
And may His blessings be upon His Messenger forever, and His peace everlasting, eternal.
O Allah, make the beginning of this day of mine righteousness, its middle success, and its end prosperity.
And I seek refuge in You from a day whose beginning is terror, whose middle is anxiety, and whose end is grief.
O Allah, I ask Your forgiveness for every vow I made, every promise I gave, and every covenant I pledged, then failed to fulfill.
And I ask You concerning the wrongs of Your servants that are upon me.
So whichever servant from among Your servants, or maidservant from among Your maidservants,
If there is against me a wrong done to one of Your servants—whether in his self, his honor, his wealth, his family, or his children—
or backbiting I engaged in against him, or injustice through bias, desire, arrogance, zealotry, ostentation, or partisanship—
whether he be absent or present, alive or deceased—
and my hand is too short and my capacity too limited to restore it to him or seek release from it—
So I ask You, O He who owns all needs, and they respond to His will and hasten toward His command,
that You bless Muhammad and the family of Muhammad, and that You make him pleased with me in whatever way You will,
and grant me mercy from You, for indeed, forgiveness does not diminish You, nor does granting harm You. O Most Merciful of the merciful!
O Allah, grant me on every Monday two blessings from You: happiness at its beginning through obedience to You, and a gift at its end through Your forgiveness.
O He who is the true God, and none forgives sins except Him.
