Supplicatory Prayer on Fridays & Friday Nights as recorded in authentic Shia supplication manuals and traditions of the Holy Infallibles ('a).

اَللّهُمَّ مَنْ تَعَبَا وَ تَهَيَّا

following supplicatory prayer on Fridays and at Friday nights and on the day and night of 'Arafat (the ninth of Dhu'l-Hijjah). However, the supplication will be hereinafter cited as quoted from Shaykh al-Tusi's book of al-Misbah:

وَ اَعَدَّ وَ اسْتَعَدَّ لِوِفَادَةٍ إِلَى مَخْلُوْقٍ رَجَاءَ رِفْدِهِ وَ طَلَبَ نَائِلِهِ وَ جَائِزَتِهِ فَإِلَيْكَ يَا رَبَّ تَعْبِيَتِي وَ اسْتِعْدَادِيْ رَجَاءَ عَفْوِكَ وَ طَلَبَ نَائِلِكَ وَ جَائِزَتِكَ فَلَا تُخَيِّبْ دُعَآئِي يَا مَنْ لَا يَخِيْبُ عَلَيْهِ سَائِلٌ [السَّائِلُ] وَ لَا يَنْقُصُهُ نَآئِلْ فَاِنَّيْ لَمْ أَتِكَ ثِقَةً بِعَمَلِ صَالِحٍ عَمِلْتُهُ وَ لَا لِوِفَادَةِ مَخْلُوْقٍ رَجَوْتُهُ آَتَيْتُكَ مُقِرًّا عَلَى نَفْسِي بِالْإِسَاءَةِ وَ الظِّلْمِ، مُفْتَرِفًا بِآَنْ لَا حَجَةَ لِيْ وَ لَا عُذْرَ أَتَيْثُكَ اَرْجُوْ عَظِيْمَ عَفْوِكَ الَّذِيْ عَفَوْتَ [عَلَوْتَ] بِهِ [عَلى] عَنِ الْخَاطِئِيْنَ [الْخَطَّائِيْنَ] فَلَمْ يَمْنَعْكَ طُوْلُ عُكُوْفِهِمْ عَلَى عَظِيْمِ الْجُزْمِ آَنْ عُدْتَ عَلَيْهِمْ بِالرَّحْمَةِ فَيَا مَنْ رَحْمَتُهُ وَاسِعَةٌ وَ عَفْوُهُ عَظِيْمٌ يَا عَظِيْمُ يَا عَظِيْمُ يَا عَظِيْمُ لَا يَرُدُّ غَضَبَكَ اِلَّا حِلْمُكَ وَ لَا يُنْجِيْ مِنْ سَخَطِكَ اِلَّا التَّضَرُّعُ اِلَيْكَ فَهَبْ لِيْ يَا اِلْهِيْ فَرَجًا بِالْقُدْرَةِ الَّتِيْ تُخِيِيْ بِهَا مَيْتَ الْبِلَادِ، وَلَا تُهْلِكْنِي غَمَّا حَتّى تَسْتَجِيْبَ لِيْ وَ تُعَرَّفْنِي الإِجَابَةَ فِي دُعَائِي وَ اَذِقْنِي طَعَمَ الْعَافِيَةِ إِلَى مُنْتَهَى اَجَلِيْ وَ لَا تُشمِتْ بِيْ عَدُوِّيْ وَ لَا تُسَلَّظِهُ عَلَيَّ وَ لَا تُمَكِّنْهُ مِنْ عُنُقِيْ اَللَّهُمّ [إِلْهِي] إِنْ وَضَعْتَنِي فَمَنْ ذَا الَّذِيْ يَزْفَعْنِي وَ إِنْ رَفَعْتَنِي فَمَنْ ذَا الَّذِيْ يَضَعْنِيْ وَ إِنْ اَهْلَكْتَنِي فَمَنْ ذَا الَّذِي يَعْرِضُ لَكَ فِي عَبْدِكَ أَوْ يَسْآَلَكَ عَنْ آَمْرِهِ، وَ قَدْ عَلِمْتُ أَنَّهُ لَيْسَ فِي حُكْمِكَ ظُلْمٌ وَلَا فِي نَقِمَتِكَ عَجَلَةُ وَ إِنَّمَا يَعْجَلُ مَنْ يَخَافُ الْفَوْتَ وَ اِنَّمَا يَخْتَاجُ إِلَى الظُلْمِ الضَّعِيْفُ وَ قَدْ تَعَالَيْتَ يَآ الْهِيْ عَنْ ذَلِكَ عُلُوًّا كَبِيرًا اللَهُمَّ إِنَّيْ أَعُوْذُ بِكَ فَاعِذْنِيْ وَ اَسْتَجِيْرُ بِكَ فَاجِزْنِيْ وَ اَسْتَرْزِقُكَ فَارزُقْنِيْ وَ أَتَوَكَّلُ عَلَيْكَ فَاكْفِنِيْ وَ اَسْتَنْصِرُكَ عَلَى عَدُوَّيْ [عَدُوَّكَ] فَانْصُرْنِيْ وَ اَسْتَعِيْنُ بِكَ فَاعِنِّيْ وَ اَسْتَغْفِرُكَ يَا اِلْهِيْ فَاغْفِرْ لِيْ أَمِيْنَ أمِيْنَ أمِيْنَ.

Wa aʿadda wa astaʿadda liwifādatin ʾilā makhlūqin rajāʾa rifdihi wa ṭalaba nāʾilihi wa jāʾizatihi faʾilayka yā rabba taʿbiyatī wa astiʿdādī rajāʾa ʿafwika wa ṭalaba nāʾilika wa jāʾizatika falā tukhayyib duʿaʾāʾī yā man lā yakhību ʿalayhi sāʾilun alssāʾilu wa lā yanquṣuhu naʾāʾil fānnay lam ʾatika thiqatan biʿamali ṣāliḥin ʿamiltuhu wa lā liwifādati makhlūqin rajawtuhu ātaytuka muqirran ʿalā nafsī biālʾisāʾati wa aẓ-ẓilmi, muftarifan biʾān lā ḥajata lī wa lā ʿudhra ʾataythuka arjū ʿaẓīma ʿafwika adh-dhī ʿafawta ʿalawta bihi ʿalā ʿani al-khāṭiʾīna alkhaṭṭāʾīna falam yamnaʿka ṭūlu ʿukūfihim ʿalā ʿaẓīmi al-juzmi ān ʿudta ʿalayhim biālrraḥmati fayā man raḥmatuhu wāsiʿatun wa ʿafwuhu ʿaẓīmun yā ʿaẓīmu yā ʿaẓīmu yā ʿaẓīmu lā yaruddu ghaḍabaka al-ā ḥilmuka wa lā yunjī min sakhaṭika al-ā at-taḍarruʿu al-yka fahab lī yā al-hī farajan biālqudrati at-tī tukhiyī bihā mayta al-bilādi, walā tuhliknī ghammā ḥattā tastajība lī wa tuʿarrafnī al-ʾijābata fī duʿāʾī wa adhiqnī ṭaʿama al-ʿāfiyati ʾilā muntahā ajalī wa lā tushmit bī ʿaduwwī wa lā tusallaẓihu ʿalayya wa lā tumakkinhu min ʿunuqī Allāhumma ʾilhī ʾin waḍaʿtanī faman dhā adh-dhī yazfaʿnī wa ʾin rafaʿtanī faman dhā adh-dhī yaḍaʿnī wa ʾin ahlaktanī faman dhā adh-dhī yaʿriḍu laka fī ʿabdika ʾaw yasʾālaka ʿan āmrihi, wa qad ʿalimtu ʾannahu laysa fī ḥukmika ẓulmun walā fī naqimatika ʿajalatu wa ʾinnamā yaʿjalu man yakhāfu al-fawta wa innamā yakhtāju ʾilā aẓ-ẓulmi aḍ-ḍaʿīfu wa qad taʿālayta yaʾā al-hī ʿan dhalika ʿuluwwan kabīran Allāhumma ʾinnay ʾaʿūdhu bika fāʿidhnī wa astajīru bika fājiznī wa astarziquka fārzuqnī wa ʾatawakkalu ʿalayka fākfinī wa astanṣiruka ʿalā ʿaduwway ʿaduwwaka fānṣurnī wa astaʿīnu bika fāʿinnī wa astaghfiruka yā al-hī fāghfir lī ʾamīna ʾmīna ʾmīna.

Shaykh al-Tusi, Sayyid Ibn Tawus, al-Kaf'ami, and Sayyid Ibn Baqi have recorded that it is recommended to say the following supplicatory prayer on Fridays and at Friday nights and on the day and night of 'Arafat (the ninth of Dhu'l-Hijjah). However, the supplication will be hereinafter cited as quoted from Shaykh al-Tusi's book of al-Misbah: O Allah, One may call up, prepare, ready oneself, and stand prepared for purpose of coming to a creature in the hope of gaining his aid and asking for his gift and present. As for myself, to You-O my Lord-| make my preparations and readiness hoping for Your pardon and asking for Your gift and present. So, (please) do not disappoint my entreat He Who never disappoints His beseechers and Whose prizes never decrease His ample-giving! have not come to You with confidence of a righteous deed that | have done nor have I had any hope in a grant of any creature. Rather, I have come to You professing myself to be evildoer and transgressor and confessing that I lack any pretext or excuse. I have come to You hoping for Your great pardon due to which You have pardoned the wrongdoers. Hence, their long-lasting retirement to their grave offenses has not prevented You from turning to them with mercy. O He Whose mercy is huge and Whose pardon is great; O All-great, O Allgreat, O All-great, nothing can repel Your rage except Your forbearance and nothing can save from Your wrathexcept imploring earnestly to You. So, my God, (please) grant me a relief in the name of the power through which You restore to life the derelict lands, and do not cause me to perish out of grief until You respond to me and show me signs of Your response to my prayers. (please) Make me taste the flavor of wellbeing up to the end of my lifetime, do not make my enemies gloat over me, do not give them a hand over me, and do not make them control over me. Allah, If You humiliate me, who can then exalt me? And if You exalt me, who can then humiliate me? If You annihilate me, who can then interfere before You concerning the affair of me-Your slave or who can intercede to ask You about it? have already known for sure that Your decrees are devoid of injustice and Your punishment does not count on immediateness. Verily, immediateness is the work of him who fears lest he may miss, and only do the weak need injustice. As for You, O my God, You are too exalted to be so-Exalted and Great You are beyond all measure! Allah, I take refuge in You; so, (please) have protection upon me! call for Your safekeeping, so, (please) keep me under Your security! I appeal for Your sustenance, so, (please) provide me with sustenance! I put trust in You; so, (please) keep me under Your Supervision! I call for Your aid against my enemy; so, (please) grant me support! I seek Your assistance; so, (please) assist me! I ask for Your forgiveness, so, (please) forgive me. So, respond! Respond! Respond! He Who never disappoints His beseechers have not come to You with confidence of a righteous deed that l have done Allah, If You humiliate me, who can then exalt me? have already known for sure that Your decrees are devoid of injustice Allah, I take refuge in You; so, (please) have protection upon me! call for Your safekeeping, so, (please) keep me under Your security!

However, the Dua will be hereinafter cited as quoted from Shaykh al-Tusi's book of al-Misbah: Ee Allah, One may call up, prepare, ready oneself, and stand prepared for purpose of coming to a creature in the hope of gaining his aid and asking for his gift and present. As for myself, to You-O my Lord-| make my preparations and readiness hoping for Your pardon and asking for Your gift and present. So, (please) do not disappoint my entreat He Who never disappoints His beseechers and Whose prizes never decrease His ample-giving! have not come to You with confidence of a righteous deed that | have done nor have I had any hope in a grant of any creature. I appeal for Your sustenance, so, (please) provide me with sustenance! I put trust in You; so, (please) keep me under Your Supervision! I call for Your aid against my enemy; so, (please) grant me support! I seek Your assistance; so, (please) assist me! I ask for Your forgiveness, so, (please) forgive me. So, respond! Respond! Respond!
