دُعَاءُ الإِمَامِ الجَوَادِ (ع)
Imam al-Jawad's Supplication
Dua ya Imam al-Jawad ('a)
اَللَّهُمَّ رَبَّ الْارْوَاحِ الْفَانِيَةِ
Allāhumma rabba al-ārwāḥi al-fāniyati
O Allah, Lord of the souls passing away
Ee Allah, Mola wa roho zinazopita/zinazotoweka
وَ الْاَجْسَادِ الْبَالِيَةِ
Wa al-ājsādi al-bāliyati
and the rotten corpses!
na miili inayooza!
اَسْاَلُكَ بِطَاعَةِ الْاَرْوَاحِ الرَّاجِعَةِ إِلَى اَجْسَادِهَا
Asāluka biṭāʿati al-ārwāḥi ar-rājiʿati ʾilā ajsādihā
I beseech You in the name of the obedience of the souls that are restored to their bodies
Nakuomba kwa utiifu wa roho zinazorejea kwenye miili yao
وَ بِطَاعَةِ الْاَجْسَادِ الْمُلْتَئِمَةِ بِعْرُوْقِهَا
Wa biṭāʿati al-ājsādi al-multaʾimati biʿrūqihā
and the obedience of the corpses that join their veins
na kwa utiifu wa miili inayoungana na mishipa yake
وَ بِكَلِمَتِكَ النَّافِذَةِ بَيْنَهُمْ
Wa bikalimatika an-nāfidhati baynahum
and in the name of Your Word that is effective on them
na kwa Neno Lako lenye kupenya (ufanisi) miongoni mwao
وَ آَخْذِكَ الْحَقَّ مِنْهُمْ
Wa ākhdhika al-ḥaqqa minhum
and in the name of Your judging justly among them;
na kwa kuchukua Kwako haki kutoka kwao;
وَ الْخَلَائِقُ بَيْنَ يَدَيْكَ
Wa al-khalāʾiqu bayna yadayka
while the [other] creatures are standing before You
na viumbe wakiwa mbele Yako
يَنْتَظِرُوْنَ فَضْلَ قَضَآئِكَ
Yantaẓirūna faḍla qaḍaʾāʾika
awaiting the decisions of Your judgment,
wakigojea fadhila za hukumu Yako,
وَ يَرْجُوْنَ رَحْمَتَكَ وَ يَخَافَوْنَ عِقَابَكَ
Wa yarjūna raḥmataka wa yakhāfawna ʿiqābaka
hoping for Your mercy, and fearing Your punishment;
wakitarajia rehema Yako, na wakiogopa adhabu Yako;
صَلَّ عَلى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ الِ مُحَمَّدٍ
Ṣalla ʿalā muḥammadin wa ali muḥammadin
(please do) send blessings to Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad,
(tafadhali) mteremshie rehema Muhammad na Alali wa Muhammad,
وَ اجْعَلِ النُّوْرَ فِي بَصَرِيْ
Wa ajʿali an-nūra fī baṣarī
place light in my sight,
weka nuru katika kuona kwangu,
وَ اليَقِيْنَ فِي قَلْبِيْ
Wa al-yaqīna fī qalbī
strong belief in my heart,
yakini (imani thabiti) katika moyo wangu,
وَ ذِكْرَكَ بِاللّيْلِ وَ النَّهَارِ عَلَى لِسَانِيْ
Wa dhikraka biālllyli wa an-nahāri ʿalā lisānī
and reference to You night and day on my tongue,
na utajo Wako usiku na mchana ulimini mwangu,
وَ عَمَلَا صَالِحًا فَارْزُقْنِيْ
Wa ʿamalā ṣāliḥan fārzuqnī
and provide me with a righteous deed.
na uniruzuku matendo mema.
