IMPORTANCE OF RECITING قل هواللّه احد
O worms!
Enyi wadudu!
آَيُّهَا الدُّوْدُ
Āyyuhā ad-dūdu
آَيُّهَا الدَّوَابُّ وَالْهَوَآمُّ وَالْحَيْوَانَاتُ
Āyyuhā ad-dawābbu wālhawaʾāmmu wālḥaywānātu
O creeping creatures, vermin, and animals,
Enyi wadudu, wanyama waharibifu na wanyama!
أُخْرُجُوْا مِنْ هَذِهِ الْاَرْضِ وَالزَّزْعِ إِلَى الْخَرَابِ
ʾukhrujūā min hadhihi al-ārḍi wālzzazʿi ʾilā al-kharābi
leave this land and plants towards the derelict lands,
Ondokeni ardhi hii na mimea kuelekea kwenye ardhi mbovu.
كَمَا خَرَجَ ابْنُ مَتَّى مِنْ بَطْنِ الْحُوْتِ
Kamā kharaja abnu mattā min baṭni al-ḥūti
in the same way as the son of Amittai left the belly of the big fish.
kama vile mwana wa Amitai alivyoacha tumbo la samaki mkubwa.
فَاِنْ لَمْ تَخْرُجُوًا
Fān lam takhrujuwan
If you do not leave,
Ikiwa hutaondoka,
أَرسَلْتُ عَلَيْكُمْ شُوَاظًا مِنْ نَارٍ وَ نُحَاسٍ
ʾarsaltu ʿalaykum shuwāẓan min nārin wa nuḥāsin
I will send on you flames of fire and smoke;
nitatuma miali ya moto na moshi juu yenu;
فَلَا تَنْتَصِرَانِ
Falā tantaṣirāni
then you will not be able to defend yourselves.
basi hamtaweza kujitetea.
اَلَمْ تَرَ إِلَى الْذِيْنَ خَرَجُوْا مِنْ دِيَارِهِمْ
Al-m tara ʾilā adh-dhīna kharajūā min diyārihim
"Have you not considered those who went forth from their homes
“Huwaoni wale waliotoka majumbani mwao?
وَ هُمْ اُلُوُفٌ حَذَرَ الْمَوْتِ فَقَالَ
Wa hum al-wufun ḥadhara al-mawti faqāla
and they were thousands, for fear of death,
nao walikuwa maelfu kwa hofu ya kifo.
لَهُمُ اللهُ مُؤْثُوْا فَمَاتُوَا
Lahumu Allāhu muʾthūā famātuwā
then Allah said to them, 'Die'"' So, they died.
basi Mwenyezi Mungu akawaambia: ‘Kufeni’” Basi wakafa.
أُخْرُجُوْا مِنْهَا فَاِنَّكَ رَجِيْمٌ
ʾukhrujūā minhā fānnaka rajīmun
"Get out of it, for surely you are driven away."
"Ondoka humo, kwani hakika wewe umefukuzwa."
فَخَرَجَ مِنْهَا خَائِفًا يَتَرَقْبُ
Fakharaja minhā khāʾifan yataraqbu
"So, he went forth therefrom, fearing, awaiting."
"Basi akatoka humo akiogopa, akingoja."
سُبْحَانَ الَّذِيّ اَسْرُى بِعَبْدِهِ لَيْلًا
Subḥāna adh-dhiyy asruā biʿabdihi laylan
"Glory be to Him Who made His servant to go on a night
“Ametakasika ambaye amemjaalia mja wake usiku mmoja
مِنَ الْمَسْجِدِ الْحَرَامِ إِلَى الْمَسْجِدِ الْاَقْصى
Mina al-masjidi al-ḥarāmi ʾilā al-masjidi al-āqṣā
from the Sacred Mosque to the remote mosque."

كَاَنَّهُمْ يَوْمَ يَرَوْنَهَا
Kānnahum yawma yarawnahā
"On the day that they see it, it will be as though
"Siku watakapoiona itakuwa kama vile
لَمْ يَلْبَثُوَا اِلَّا عَشِيَّةً اَوْضُحَهَا
Lam yalbathuwā al-ā ʿashiyyatan awḍuḥahā
they had not tarried but the latter part of a day or the early part of it."
hawakukaa ila sehemu ya mwisho ya siku moja au mapema yake."
فَاَخْرَ جْنَاهُمْ مِنْ جَنَّاتٍ وَ عُيُوْنٍ
Fākhra jnāhum min jannātin wa ʿuyūnin
So, We sent them out of "gardens and fountains,
Basi tukawatoa katika bustani na chemchem.
وَ زُرُوْعِ وَ مَقَامٍ كَرِيْمِ
Wa zurūʿi wa maqāmin karīmi
cornfields and noble places,
mashamba ya nafaka na maeneo ya kifahari,
وَ نَعْمَةٍ كَانُوْا فِيْهَا فَاكِهِيْنَ
Wa naʿmatin kānūā fīhā fākihīna
and goodly things wherein they rejoiced."
na mambo mazuri waliyokuwa wakiyafurahia."
فَمَا بَكَتْ عَلَيْهِمُ السَّمَآءُ وَالْاَرْضُ
Famā bakat ʿalayhimu as-samaʾāʾu wālārḍu
"So, the heaven and the earth did not weep for them
“Basi mbingu na ardhi hazikuwalilia
وَ مَا كَانُوْا مُنْظَرِيْنَ
Wa mā kānūā munẓarīna
nor were they respited."
wala hawakupewa muhula."
أُخْرُج مِنْهَا فَمَا يَكُوْنُ لَكَ آَنْ تَتَكَبَّرَ فِيْهَا
ʾukhruj minhā famā yakūnu laka ān tatakabbara fīhā
Get out of it, "for it does not befit you to behave proudly therein.
Ondoka humo, “maana haiwafai kuwa na kiburi ndani yake.
فَاخْرُجْ اِنَّكَ مِنَ الصَاغِرِيْنَ
Fākhruj innaka mina aṣ-ṣāghirīna
Go forth, therefore, surely you are of the abject ones."
Basi toka, hakika wewe ni miongoni mwa waliodhalilishwa."
أَخْرُج مِنْهَا مَذْوُ مَا مَدْحُوْرًا
ʾakhruj minhā madhwu mā madḥūran
"Get out of this (state), despised, driven away."
"Ondokeni katika (hali hii), mdharauliwa, mkifukuzwa."
فَلَنَاْ تِيَنَّهُمْ بِجُنُوْدٍ لَا قِبَلَ لَهُمْ
Falanā tiyannahum bijunūdin lā qibala lahum
"So, we will most certainly come to them with hosts which they shall have no power to oppose
“Basi bila ya shaka tutawajia na majeshi ambayo hawatakuwa na uwezo wa kuyapinga
وَ لَنُخْرِجَنَّهُمْ مِنْهَا آَذِلَّةً وَ هُمْ صَاغِرُوْنَ.
Wa lanukhrijannahum minhā ādhillatan wa hum ṣāghirūna.
and we will most certainly expel them therefrom in
na bila shaka tutawatoa humo
