مروي عن الأئمة المعصومين عليهم السلام في كتب الأدعية المعتبرة.
Sayyid Ibn Tawus, in Muhaj al-Da'awat, has narrated that Imam Ali Ameer al-Momineen(a.s.) said, "The Messenger of Allah (a.s.) taught me this supplication and ordered me to say it under all circumstances - sorrow and joy. He also instructed me to convey it to my heir and not to leave it as long as I am alive until I meet Almighty Allah. Additionally, the Messenger of Allah (a.s.) ordered me to say the supplication every morning and evening, for it is one of the treasures of the Divine Throne." As 'Abdullah ibn Ubayy begged the Holy Prophet (s.a.w.a.) to tell more about the merits of the supplication, the Holy Prophet did. Anyhow, for acquaintance with the merits of this supplication, the gentle reader is advised to refer to the book of Muhaj al-Da'awat. The supplication is as follows:
Sayyid Ibn Tawus, katika Muhaj al-Da'awat, amesimulia kuwa Imam Ali Ameer al-Momineen (a.s.) alisema, "Mtume wa Mwenyezi Mungu (a.s.) alinifundisha dua hii na kuniamuru kuisoma katika hali zote – huzuni na furaha. Pia alinielekeza kuipeleka kwa mrithi wangu na kutoiiacha muda wote nikiwa hai hadi nitakapokutana na Mwenyezi Mungu. Zaidi ya hayo, Mtume wa Mwenyezi Mungu (a.s.) alinipa amri kuisoma dua hii kila asubuhi na jioni, kwani ni mojawapo ya hazina za Kiti cha Enzi cha Kiungu." Kama vile 'Abdullah ibn Ubayy alivyomwomba Mtukufu Mtume (s.a.w.a.) asimulie zaidi kuhusu fadhila za dua hii, Mtukufu Mtume alifanya hivyo. Hata hivyo, kwa ufahamu zaidi wa fadhila za dua hii, msomaji anashauriwa kurejea kitabu cha Muhaj al-Da'awat. Dua ni kama ifuatavyo:
بِسْمِ اللّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ
Bismi Allāhi ar-Raḥmāni ar-raḥīmi
In the Name of Allah, the All-beneficent, the All-merciful
Kwa Jina la Mwenyezi Mungu, Mwingi wa Rehema, Mwenye Kurehemu
اَلْحَمْدُ لِلّهِ الَّذِى
Al-ḥamdu lillāhi adh-dhiā
All praise is due to Allah.
Sifa zote ni za Mwenyezi Mungu.
لَا إِلَهَ اِلَّا هُوَ
Lā ʾilaha al-ā huwa
There is no god but He,
Hakuna mungu isipokuwa Yeye,
الْمَلِكُ الْحَقُّ الْمُبِينُ
Al-maliku al-ḥaqqu al-mubīnu
the True, Manifest King.
Mfalme wa Kweli, Dhahiri.
الْمُدَبِّرُ بِلاَ وَزِيرٍ
Al-mudabbiru bilā wazīrin
He is the Administrator without any minister
Yeye ndiye Msimamizi bila waziri yeyote
وَلَا خَلْقٍ مِنْ عِبَادِهِ يَسْتَشِيرُ،
Walā khalqin min ʿibādihi yastashīru,
and without consultation with any of his slaves.
Na bila kushauriana na yeyote kati ya waja Wake.
اَلأَوَّلُ غَيْرُ مَوْصُوفِ،
Al-ʾawwalu ghayru mawṣūfi,
He is the First Who cannot be described.
Yeye ndiye wa Mwanzo asiyeweza kuelezewa.
وَالْبَاقِى بَعْدَ فَنَاءِ الْخَلْقِ،
Wālbāqiā baʿda fanāʾi al-khalqi,
He is Eternal after the annihilation of all creatures.
Yeye ni wa Milele baada ya viumbe vyote kutoweka.
الْعَظِيمُ الرُّبُوبِيَّةِ،
Al-ʿaẓīmu ar-rubūbiyyati,
He is the greatest Cherisher,
Yeye ndiye Mlezi Mkuu,
نُورُ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالأَرَضِينَ
Nūru as-samāwāti wālʾaraḍīna
the Light of the heavens and the earth
Nuru ya mbingu na ardhi
وَفَاطِرُهُمَا وَمُنْتَدِعُهُمَا
Wafāṭiruhumā wamuntadiʿuhumā
and their Creator and Maker out of nothing.
Na Muumba wao na Mtengenezaji wao kutokana na pasipo kitu.
بِغَيْرِ عَمَدٍ خَلَقَهُمَا وَفَتَقَهُمَا فَتْقاً
Bighayri ʿamadin khalaqahumā wafataqahumā fatq
He created both of them and separated them with a proper separation;
Ameviumba vyote viwili na kuvitenganisha kwa utenganisho ufaao;
فَقَامَتِ السَّمَاوَاتُ طَائِعَاتٍ بِأَمْرِهِ
Faqāmati as-samāwātu ṭāʾiʿātin biʾamrihi
the heavens hence became stable in obedience to His command
Basi mbingu zikawa thabiti kwa utii wa amri Yake
وَاسْتَقَرَّتِ الأَرْضُونَ بِأَوْتَادِهَا فَوْقَ الْمَاءِ،
Wāstaqarrati al-ʾarḍūna biʾawtādihā fawqa al-māʾi,
and the earths became fixed on the surface of the water with their pegs.
Na ardhi zikawa zimewekwa imara juu ya maji kwa vigingi vyake.
ثُمَّ عَلَا رَبُّنَا فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ الْعُلى
Thumma ʿalā rabbunā fī as-samāwāti al-ʿulā
Then, our Lord subdued the high heavens,
Kisha, Mola wetu akazitawala mbingu za juu,
الرَّحْمَنُ عَلَى الْعَرْشِ اسْتَوى،
Ar-Raḥmāni ʿalā al-ʿarshi astawā,
the All-beneficent, ruled from the Throne.
Mwingi wa Rehema, alitawala kutoka kwenye Arshi.
لَهُ مَا فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَمَا فِي الْأَرْضِ
Lahu mā fī as-samāwāti wamā fī al-ʾarḍi
Everything that is in the heavens and in the earth,
Kila kilichomo mbinguni na katika ardhi,
وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا وَمَا تَحْتَ الثَّرَى،
Wamā baynahumā wamā taḥta ath-tharā,
and in between them and what is below the earth belongs to Him.
Na kilicho baina yao na kilicho chini ya ardhi ni chake Yeye.
فَأَنَا أَشْهَدُ بِأَنَّكَ أَنْتَ اللَّهُ
Faʾanā ʾashhadu biʾannaka ʾanta Allāhu
So, I bear witness that You are verily Allah;
Basi, nashuhudia kuwa Wewe kweli ni Mwenyezi Mungu;
لَا رَافِعَ لِمَا وَضَعْتَ،
Lā rāfiʿa limā waḍaʿta,
there is none to elevate what You may lower,
Hakuna wa kuinua kile unachokishusha,
وَلَا وَاضِعَ لِمَا رَفَعْتَ،
Walā wāḍiʿa limā rafaʿta,
none to lower what You may elevate,
Hakuna wa kushusha kile unachokiinua,
وَلَا مُعِزَّ لِمَنْ أَذْلَلْتَ،
Walā muʿizza liman ʾadhlalta,
no one to exalt him whom You leave in disgrace,
Hakuna wa kumtukuza yule unayemwaibisha,
وَلَا مُذِلَّ لِمَنْ أَعْزَزْتَ،
Walā mudhilla liman ʾaʿzazta,
no one to bring into disgrace him whom You exalt,
Hakuna wa kumwaibisha yule unayemtukuza,
وَلَا مَانِعَ لِمَا أَعْطَيْتَ،
Walā māniʿa limā ʾaʿṭayta,
no one to prevent him upon whom You bestow Your favor,
Hakuna wa kuzuia kile unachotoa,
وَلَا مُعْطِيَ لِمَا مَنَعْتَ،
Walā muʿṭiya limā manaʿta,
and no one to bestow anything which You may withhold.
Na hakuna wa kutoa chochote unachokizuia.
وَأَنْتَ اللَّهُ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ
Waʾanta Allāhu lā ʾilaha ʾillā ʾanta
You are Allah, there is no god but You;
Wewe ni Mwenyezi Mungu, hakuna mungu isipokuwa Wewe;
كُنْتَ إِذْ لَمْ تَكُنْ سَمَاءُ مَبْنِيَّةُ
Kunta ʾidh lam takun samāʾu mabniyyatu
You existed when there was neither stable sky,
Ulikuwa Upo wakati hapakuwepo anga imara,
وَلَا أَرْضٌ مَدْحِيَّةٌ
Walā ʾarḍun madḥiyyatun
nor broad earth,
Wala ardhi iliyotandazwa,
وَلَا شَمْسُ مُضِيئَةُ
Walā shamsu muḍīʾatu
nor brilliant sun,
Wala jua lenye kuangaza,
وَلَا لَيْلٌ مُظْلِمٌ،
Walā laylun muẓlimun,
nor dark night,
Wala usiku wenye giza,
وَلَا نَهَارٌ مُضِيءٌ،
Walā nahārun muḍīʾun,
nor bright day
Wala mchana wenye nuru,
وَلَا بَحْرٌ لَجِّيٌّ
Walā baḥrun lajjiyyun
nor vast ocean,
Wala bahari kubwa,
وَلَا جَبَلٌ رَاسٍ،
Walā jabalun rāsin,
nor stable mountain,
Wala mlima thabiti,
وَلَا نَجْمٌ سَارٍ،
Walā najmun sārin,
nor revolving planet,
Wala sayari inayozunguka,
وَلَا قَمَرٌ مُنِيرٌ،
Walā qamarun munīrun,
nor luminous moon,
Wala mwezi wenye kung'aa,
وَلَا رِيحَ تَهُبُّ،
Walā rīḥa tahubbu,
nor blowing wind,
Wala upepo unaovuma,
وَلَا سَحَابٌ يَسْكُبُ،
Walā saḥābun yaskubu,
nor raining cloud,
Wala wingu lenye kunyesha,
وَلَا بَرْقٌ يَلْمَعُ،
Walā barqun yalmaʿu,
nor flashing lightning,
Wala umeme unaong'aa,
وَلَا رَعْدٌ يُسَبِّحُ،
Walā raʿdun yusabbiḥu,
nor praising thunder,
Wala radi yenye kusifu,
وَلَا رُوحُ تَنَفَّسُ،
Walā rūḥu tanaffasu,
nor breathing soul,
Wala roho yenye kupumua,
وَلَا طَآئِرٌ يَطِيرُ،
Walā ṭaʾāʾirun yaṭīru,
nor flying bird,
Wala ndege anayeruka,
وَلَا نَارٌ تَتَوَقَّدُ،
Walā nārun tatawaqqadu,
nor blazing fire,
Wala moto unaowaka,
وَلَا مَاءٌ يَطَّرِدُ
Walā māʾun yaṭṭaridu
nor flowing water.
Wala maji yanayotiririka.
كُنْتَ قَبْلَ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ
Kunta qabla kulli shayʾin
You existed before the existence of all things,
Ulikuwa Upo kabla ya kuwepo kwa kila kitu,
وَكَوَّنْتَ كُلَّ شَيْءٍ
Wakawwanta kulla shayʾin
You created everything,
Ukaumba kila kitu,
وَقَدَرْتَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ
Waqadarta ʿalā kulli shayʾin
had power over everything,
Ulikuwa na uwezo juu ya kila kitu,
وَابْتَدَعْتَ كُلَّ شَيْءٍ
Wābtadaʿta kulla shayʾin
and originated everything.
Na ukavianzisha kila kitu.
وَأَغْنَيْتَ وَأَفْقَرْتَ
Waʾaghnayta waʾafqarta
You enriched some and reduced others to poverty,
Uliwatajirisha baadhi na kuwafanya wengine kuwa maskini,
وَ أَمَتَّ وَأَحْيَيْتَ
Wa ʾamatta waʾaḥyayta
caused some to die and brought others to life,
Uliwasababishia baadhi kufa na kuwahuisha wengine,
وَأَضْحَكْتَ وَأَبْكَيْتَ
Waʾaḍḥakta waʾabkayta
and made some laugh and others weep.
Na ukawachekesha baadhi na kuwaliza wengine.
وَعَلَى الْعَرْشِ اسْتَوَيْتَ
Waʿalā al-ʿarshi astawayta
Verily, You rule from the Throne.
Hakika, Unatawala kutoka kwenye Arshi.
فَتَبَارَكْتَ يَا اَللهُ وَ تَعَالَيْتَ،
Fatabārakta yā Allāhu wa taʿālayta,
Blessed and Exalted be You, O Allah.
Umetukuka na Umetukuzwa, Ewe Mwenyezi Mungu.
أَنْتَ اللهُ الَّذِيْ لَا اِلَهَ لَّا اَنْتَ
ʾanta Allāhu adh-dhī lā al-ha llā anta
You are Allah save Whom there is no god;
Wewe ni Mwenyezi Mungu ambaye hakuna mungu isipokuwa Wewe;
الْخَلَّاقُ الْمُعِينُ
Al-khallāqu al-muʿīnu
the Creator and Supporter.
Muumba na Msaidizi.
آَمْرُكَ غَالِبٌ
Āmruka ghālibun
Your Decree is overpowering,
Amri Yako inashinda,
وَعِلْمُكَ نَافِذٌ،
Waʿilmuka nāfidhun,
Your Knowledge is operative,
Ujuzi Wako unatekelezeka,
وَكَيْدُكَ غَرِيبٌ،
Wakayduka gharībun,
Your strategy is wonderful,
Hila Yako ni ya ajabu,
وَوَعْدُكَ صَادِقٌ،
Wawaʿduka ṣādiqun,
Your promise is fulfilled,
Ahadi Yako ni ya kweli,
وَقَوْلُكَ حَقٌّ
Waqawluka ḥaqqun
Your saying is true,
Kauli Yako ni haki,
وَحُكْمُكَ عَدْلٌ،
Waḥukmuka ʿadlun,
Your judgment is fair,
Hukumu Yako ni ya haki,
وَكَلَامُكَ هُدَّى،
Wakalāmuka huddā,
Your words are right guidance,
Maneno Yako ni uongofu,
وَوَحْيُكَ نُورٌ،
Wawaḥyuka nūrun,
Your Revelation is light,
Ufunuo Wako ni nuru,
وَرَحْمَتُكَ وَاسِعَةً،
Waraḥmatuka wāsiʿatan,
Your mercy is all-inclusive,
Rehema Yako ni pana,
وَعَفْوُكَ عَظِيمٌ،
Waʿafwuka ʿaẓīmun,
Your forgiveness is superb,
Msamaha Wako ni mkuu,
وَفَضْلُكَ كَثِيرٌ،
Wafaḍluka kathīrun,
Your grace is excessive,
Fadhila Zako ni nyingi,
وَعَطَاؤُكَ جَزِيلٌ،
Waʿaṭāʾuka jazīlun,
Your gift is most abundant,
Zawadi Yako ni tele,
وَحَبْلُكَ مَتِينٌ،
Waḥabluka matīnun,
Your cord is strong,
Kamba Yako ni imara,
وَإِمْكَانُكَ عَتِيدٌ،
Waʾimkānuka ʿatīdun,
Your ability is ever ready,
Uwezo Wako uko tayari daima,
وَجَارُكَ عَزِيزٌ،
Wajāruka ʿazīzun,
Your protege is supported,
Mlinzi Wako ni mwenye nguvu,
وَبَأْسُكَ شَدِيدٌ،
Wabaʾsuka shadīdun,
Your prowess is strong,
Nguvu Zako ni kali,
وَمَكْرُكَ مَكِيدٌ،
Wamakruka makīdun,
and Your stratagem is entrapping.
Na mpango Wako ni wa kunasa.
أَنْتَ يَا رَبِّ مَوْضِعُ كُلِّ شَكْوَى
ʾanta yā rabbi mawḍiʿu kulli shakwā
You, O my Lord, are the target of all complaints,
Wewe, Ewe Mola wangu, ndiye lengo la malalamiko yote,
وَحَاضِرُ كُلِّ مَلاءِ
Waḥāḍiru kulli malāʾi
the present in all gatherings,
Uliye Hapa katika mikusanyiko yote,
وَشَاهِدُ كُلِّ نَجْوَى،
Washāhidu kulli najwā,
the witness of all confidential talks,
Shahidi wa mazungumzo yote ya siri,
مُنْتَهَى كُلِّ حَاجَةٍ
Muntahā kulli ḥājatin
the ultimate goal of all requests,
Lengo la mwisho la maombi yote,
مُفَرِّجُ كُلِّ حُزْنٍ
Mufarriju kulli ḥuznin
the expeller of all sorrows,
Mwenye kuondoa huzuni zote,
غِنَى كُلِّ مِسْكِينٍ
Ghinā kulli miskīnin
the affluence of every needy,
Utajiri wa kila mhitaji,
حِضْنُ كُلِّ هَارِبٍ
Ḥiḍnu kulli hāribin
the stronghold for every refugee,
Ngome kwa kila mkimbizi,
آَمَانُ كُلِّ خَائِفٍ،
Āmānu kulli khāʾifin,
the security of every fearful,
Usalama wa kila mwenye hofu,
حِرْزُ الضُّعَفَاءِ
Ḥirzu aḍ-ḍuʿafāʾi
the shield of the weak,
Ngao ya wanyonge,
كَنْزُ الْفُقَرَاءِ،
Kanzu al-fuqarāʾi,
the treasure for the indigent,
Hazina kwa masikini,
مُفَرِّجُ الْغَمَّاءِ
Mufarriju al-ghammāʾi
the destroyer of grief,
Mwenye kuondoa huzuni,
مُعِينُ الصَّالِحِينَ،
Muʿīnu aṣ-ṣāliḥīna,
and the helper of the righteous.
Na msaidizi wa walio wema.
ذَلِكَ اللَّهُ رَبُّنَا لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا هُوَ،
Dhalika Allāhu rabbunā lā ʾilaha ʾillā huwa,
Such is Allah, our Lord. There is no god but He.
Huyo ndiye Mwenyezi Mungu, Mola wetu. Hakuna mungu isipokuwa Yeye.
تَكْفِي مِنْ عِبَادِكَ مَنْ تَوَكَّلَ عَلَيْكَ
Takfī min ʿibādika man tawakkala ʿalayka
You satisfy such of Your slaves as trust in You.
Unawaridhisha wale waja Wako wanaokutegemea.
وَأَنْتَ جَارُ مَنْ لَاذَ بِكَ وَتَضَرَّعَ إِلَيْكَ
Waʾanta jāru man lādha bika wataḍarraʿa ʾilayka
You are the protector of him who has recourse to You and implore You,
Wewe ndiye mlinzi wa yule anayekimbilia Kwako na kukuomba,
عِصْمَةُ مَنِ اعْتَصَمَ بِكَ
ʿiṣmatu mani aʿtaṣama bika
the haven of him who seeks Your haven,
Kimbilio la yule anayetafuta hifadhi Kwako,
نَاصِرُ مَنِ الْتَصَرَ بِكَ
Nāṣiru mani at-taṣara bika
the supporter of him who looks up to You support,
Msaidizi wa yule anayetegemea msaada Wako,
تَغْفِرُ الذُّنُوبَ لِمَنِ اسْتَغْفَرَكَ،
Taghfiru adh-dhunūba limani astaghfaraka,
the forgiver of sins of him who begs Your forgiveness,
Mwenye kusamehe dhambi za yule anayeomba msamaha Wako,
جَبَّارُ الْجَبَابِرَةِ،
Jabbāru al-jabābirati,
the Compeller of the tyrants,
Mwenye kuwalazimisha madhalimu,
عَظِيمُ الْعُظَمَاءِ
ʿaẓīmu al-ʿuẓamāʾi
the Most Grand of the grand,
Mkuu kuliko wote wakuu,
كَبِيرُ الْكُبَرَاءِ،
Kabīru al-kubarāʾi,
the Most Great of the great,
Mkubwa kuliko wote wakubwa,
سَيِّدُ السَّادَاتِ
Sayyidu as-sādāti
the Master of masters,
Bwana wa mabwana,
مَوْلَى الْمَوَالِيْ
Mawlā al-mawālī
the Lord of lords,
Mola wa mola,
صَرِيخُ الْمُسْتَصْرِخِينَ
Ṣarīkhu al-mustaṣrikhīna
the Succor of the grieved,
Msaada wa wenye kuhuzunika,
مُنَفِّسٌ عَنِ الْمَكْرُوبِينَ،
Munaffisun ʿani al-makrūbīna,
the Reliever of the aggrieved,
Mwenye kuwafariji walio taabani,
مُجِيبُ دَعْوَةِ الْمُضْطَرِّينَ
Mujību daʿwati al-muḍṭarrīna
the Responder to the calls of the distressed,
Mwenye kujibu maombi ya waliokata tamaa,
أَسْمَعُ السَّامِعِينَ
ʾasmaʿu as-sāmiʿīna
the most hearing of the hearers,
Mwenye kusikia zaidi kuliko wasikilizaji wote,
أَبْصَرُ النَّاظِرِينَ
ʾabṣaru an-nāẓirīna
the most-seeing of all observers,
Mwenye kuona zaidi kuliko watazamaji wote,
أَحْكَمُ الْحَاكِمِينَ
ʾaḥkamu al-ḥākimīna
the justest of all judges,
Hakimu wa haki zaidi kuliko mahakimu wote,
أَسْرَعُ الْحَاسِبِينَ
ʾasraʿu al-ḥāsibīna
the quickest in reckoning,
Mwenye haraka zaidi katika kuhesabu,
أَرْحَمُ الرَّاحِمِينَ
ʾarḥamu ar-rāḥimīna
the most merciful of all the merciful,
Mwingi wa rehema kuliko wenye kurehemu wote,
خَيْرُ الْغَافِرِينَ،
Khayru al-ghāfirīna,
the best of all forgivers,
Mbora wa wote wenye kusamehe,
قَاضِي حَوَائِجِ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ
Qāḍī ḥawāʾiji al-muʾminīna
the satisfier of the needs of the faithful,
Mwenye kutimiza haja za Waumini,
مُغِيثُ الصَّالِحِينَ
Mughīthu aṣ-ṣāliḥīna
and the succorer of the righteous.
Na msaidizi wa walio wema.
أَنْتَ اللَّهُ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ
ʾanta Allāhu lā ʾilaha ʾillā ʾanta
You are Allah, there is no god but You,
Wewe ni Mwenyezi Mungu, hakuna mungu isipokuwa Wewe,
رَبُّ الْعَالَمِينَ،
Rabbu al-ʿālamīna,
the Lord of the worlds.
Mola wa walimwengu.
أَنْتَ الْخَالِقُ وَأَنَا الْمَخْلُوقُ
ʾanta al-khāliqu waʾanā al-makhlūqu
You are the Creator and I am a creature,
Wewe ndiwe Muumba na mimi ni kiumbe,
وَأَنْتَ الْمَالِكُ وَأَنَا الْمَمْلُوكُ
Waʾanta al-māliku waʾanā al-mamlūku
You are the Master and I am a servant,
Wewe ndiwe Mwenye Miliki na mimi ni mja,
وَأَنْتَ الرَّبُّ وَأَنَا الْعَبْدُ
Waʾanta ar-rabbu waʾanā al-ʿabdu
You are the Lord and I am a slave,
Wewe ndiwe Mola na mimi ni mtumwa,
وَأَنْتَ الرَّازِقُ وَأَنَا الْمَرْزُوقُ
Waʾanta ar-rāziqu waʾanā al-marzūqu
You are the Provider while I am provided with sustenance,
Wewe ndiwe Mwenye kuruzuku na mimi ndiye ninayeruzukiwa,
وَأَنْتَ الْمُعْطِي وَأَنَا السَّائِلُ
Waʾanta al-muʿṭī waʾanā as-sāʾilu
You are the Giver while I am a beggar,
Wewe ndiwe Mtoaji na mimi ni mwombaji,
وَأَنْتَ الْجَوَادُ وَأَنَا الْبَخِيلُ،
Waʾanta al-jawādu waʾanā al-bakhīlu,
You are the Generous while I am a miser,
Wewe ndiwe Mkarimu na mimi ni mchoyo,
وَأَنْتَ الْقَوِيُّ وَأَنَا الضَّعِيفُ
Waʾanta al-qawiyyu waʾanā aḍ-ḍaʿīfu
You are the Mighty while I am weak,
Wewe ndiwe Mwenye Nguvu na mimi ni dhaifu,
وَأَنْتَ الْعَزِيزُ وَأَنَا الذَّلِيلُ،
Waʾanta al-ʿazīzu waʾanā adh-dhalīlu,
You are the Noble while I am humble,
Wewe ndiwe Mtukufu na mimi ni mnyenyekevu,
وَأَنْتَ الْغَنِيُّ وَأَنَا الْفَقِيرُ،
Waʾanta al-ghaniyyu waʾanā al-faqīru,
You are the Independent while I am needy,
Wewe ndiwe Tajiri na mimi ni maskini,
وَأَنْتَ السَّيِّدُ وَأَنَا الْعَبْدُ،
Waʾanta as-sayyidu waʾanā al-ʿabdu,
You are the Master while I am slave,
Wewe ndiwe Bwana na mimi ni mtumwa,
وَأَنْتَ الْغَافِرُ وَأَنَا الْمُسِيءُ
Waʾanta al-ghāfiru waʾanā al-musīʾu
You are the Forgiver of sins while I am sinful,
Wewe ndiwe Mwenye kusamehe dhambi na mimi ni mwenye dhambi,
وَأَنْتَ الْعَالِمُ وَأَنَا الْجَاهِلُ،
Waʾanta al-ʿālimu waʾanā al-jāhilu,
You are the Omniscient while I am ignorant,
Wewe ndiwe Mjuzi wa yote na mimi ni mjinga,
وَأَنْتَ الْحَلِيمُ وَأَنَا الْعَجُولُ،
Waʾanta al-ḥalīmu waʾanā al-ʿajūlu,
You are the forbearing while I am hasty,
Wewe ndiwe Mpole na mimi ni mwenye haraka,
وَأَنْتَ الرَّحْمَنُ وَأَنَا الْمَرْحُومُ،
Waʾanta ar-Raḥmāni waʾanā al-marḥūmu,
You are the All-Merciful and I lack mercy,
Wewe ndiwe Mwingi wa Rehema na mimi ninarehemiwa,
وَأَنْتَ الْمُعَافِي وَأَنَا الْمُبْتَلَى،
Waʾanta al-muʿāfī waʾanā al-mubtalā,
You are the Healer but I am involved in suffering,
Wewe ndiwe Mwenye kuponya na mimi niko katika majaribu,
وَأَنْتَ الْمُجِيبُ وَأَنَا الْمُضْطَرُّ،
Waʾanta al-mujību waʾanā al-muḍṭarru,
and You are the Responder and I am the distressed.
Na Wewe ndiwe Mwenye kujibu na mimi ndiye niliyedhikika.
وَأَنَا أَشْهَدُ بِأَنَّكَ أَنْتَ اللَّهُ
Waʾanā ʾashhadu biʾannaka ʾanta Allāhu
I bear witness that You are verily Allah,
Nami nashuhudia kuwa Wewe kweli ni Mwenyezi Mungu,
لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ
Lā ʾilaha ʾillā ʾanta
there is no god but You,
Hakuna mungu isipokuwa Wewe,
الْمُعْطِي عِبَادَكَ بِلَا سُؤَالٍ،
Al-muʿṭī ʿibādaka bilā suʾālin,
You bestow favors upon Your slaves before they beseech them.
Unawapa neema waja Wako kabla hawajaomba.
وَأَشْهَدُ بِأَنَّكَ أَنْتَ اللَّهُ
Waʾashhadu biʾannaka ʾanta Allāhu
I bear witness that You are verily Allah,
Na nashuhudia kuwa Wewe kweli ni Mwenyezi Mungu,
الْوَاحِدُ الْأَحَدُ الْمُتَفَرِّدُ الصَّمَدُ الْفَرْدُ
Al-wāḥidu al-ʾaḥadu al-mutafarridu aṣ-ṣamadu al-fardu
the One, the Peerless, the Unique, the Independent, the Single,
Mmoja, Pekee, Asiye na Mshirika, Tegemeo, Pweke,
وَإِلَيْكَ الْمَصِيرُ،
Waʾilayka al-maṣīru,
and to You is the return.
Na Kwako ndio marejeo.
وَصَلَّى اللهُ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَآهْلِ بَيْتِهِ الطَّيِّبِينَ الطَّاهِرِينَ
Waṣallā Allāhu ʿalā muḥammadin waʾāhli baytihi aṭ-ṭayyibīna aṭ-ṭāhirīna
May the blessings of Allah be upon Muhammad and his Household, the immaculate and pure.
Rehema za Mwenyezi Mungu ziwe juu ya Muhammad na Ahlul Bayt wake, watoharifu na safi.
وَاغْفِرْ لِي ذُنُوبِي
Wāghfir lī dhunūbī
Forgive my sins,
Samehe dhambi zangu,
وَاسْتُرْ عَلَيَّ عُيُوبِيْ
Wāstur ʿalayya ʿuyūbī
keep my faults concealed,
Ficha kasoro zangu,
وَافْتَحْ لِي مِنْ لَدُنْكَ رَحْمَةً وَرِزْقاً وَاسِعاً
Wāftaḥ lī min ladunka raḥmatan warizq wāsiʿ
and extend to me Your special and bounteous sustenance.
Na nifungulie kutoka Kwako rehema na riziki tele.
يَا أَرْحَمَ الرَّاحِمِينَ
Yā ʾarḥama ar-rāḥimīna
O most Merciful of all those who show mercy!
Ewe Mwingi wa Rehema kuliko wote wenye kurehemu!
وَالْحَمْدُ لِلّهِ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ
Wālḥamdu lillāhi rabbi al-ʿālamīna
All praise be to Allah, the Lord of the worlds.
Sifa zote ni za Mwenyezi Mungu, Mola wa walimwengu.
وَحَسْبُنَا اللهُ وَنِعْمَ الْوَكِيلُ
Waḥasbunā Allāhu waniʿma al-wakīlu
Allah is the Sufficient to us and excellent Protector is He.
Mwenyezi Mungu anatutosha na Yeye ni Mlinzi bora.
وَلَا حَوْلَ وَلَا قُوَةَ إِلَّا بِاللَّهِ الْعَلِيِّ الْعَظِيمِ
Walā ḥawla walā quwata ʾillā biālllahi al-ʿaliyyi al-ʿaẓīmi
There is neither might nor power but with Allah, the All-high, the All-great.
Wala hakuna nguvu wala uwezo isipokuwa kwa Mwenyezi Mungu, Aliye Juu, Mkubwa.
