مروي عن الأئمة المعصومين عليهم السلام في كتب الأدعية المعتبرة.
This supplication is also called Dua al-Shubur. It is advisable to say this supplication at the last hour of Fridays. It is well-known that Dua al-Simat is one of the famous supplications, which was regularly said by the past scholars. This supplication is recorded in Shaykh al-Tusi's book of Misbah al-Mutahajjid, Sayyid Ibn Tawus's book of Jamal al-Usbu', and al-Kaf'ami's books through an authentic series of narrators.
Dua hii pia inaitwa Dua al-Shubur. Inapendekezwa kuisoma dua hii katika saa ya mwisho ya siku ya Ijumaa. Inajulikana kuwa Dua al-Simat ni moja ya dua maarufu sana, ambayo ilikuwa ikisomwa mara kwa mara na wanazuoni waliopita. Dua hii imeandikwa katika kitabu cha Shaykh al-Tusi cha Misbah al-Mutahajjid, kitabu cha Sayyid Ibn Tawus cha Jamal al-Usbu', na vitabu vya al-Kaf'ami kupitia mlolongo sahihi wa wapokezi.
اَللَّهُمَّ إِنَّي اسْاَلُكَ بِاسْمِكَ العَظِيمِ الْاَعْظَمِ الْاَعَزِّ الْاَجَلِّ الْاَكْرَمِ
Allāhumma ʾinnay asāluka biāsmika al-ʿaẓīmi al-āʿẓami al-āʿazzi al-ājalli al-ākrami
O Allah, I beseech You by Your Name, the most great, most majestic, most magnificent, and most noble;
Ee Mwenyezi Mungu, nakuomba kwa Jina Lako, lililo kuu zaidi, lenye utukufu zaidi, lenye adhama zaidi, na lenye heshima zaidi;
الَّذِيْ إِذَا دُعِيْتَ بِهِ عَلى مَغَالِقِ اَبْوَابِ السَّماءِ لِلْفَتحِ بِالرَّحمَةِ انْفَتَحَتْ،
Adh-dhī ʾidhā duʿīta bihi ʿalā maghāliqi abwābi as-samāʾi lilfatḥi biālrraḥmati anfataḥat,
if You are besought thereby to open the closed doors of the sky, they will be opened with Your mercy,
ambalo unapoombwa kwalo kufungua milango iliyofungwa ya mbingu, hufunguliwa kwa rehema Yako,
وَ اِذَا دُعِيْتَ بِهِ عَلَىٰ مَضَائِقِ اَبْوَابِ الْاَرْضِ لِلْفَرَجِ انْفَرَجَتْ
Wa idhā duʿīta bihi ʿalā maḍāʾiqi abwābi al-ārḍi lilfaraji anfarajat
if You are besought thereby to remove the narrow doors of the earth for relief, they will be opened wide,
na unapoombwa kwalo kuondoa dhiki za milango ya ardhi kwa ajili ya faraja, hufunguliwa wazi,
وَاِذَا دُعِيْتَ بِهِ عَلَىٰ العُسْرِ لِلْيُسْرِ تَيَسَّرَتْ
Wādhā duʿīta bihi ʿalā al-ʿusri lilyusri tayassarat
if You are besought thereby to make easy the difficulty, it will be easy,
na unapoombwa kwalo kufanya wepesi ugumu, unakuwa mwepesi,
وَإِذَا دُعِيْتَ بِهِ عَلَى الْاَمْوَاتِ لِلنُّشُوْرِ انْتَشَرَتْ
Waʾidhā duʿīta bihi ʿalā al-āmwāti lilnnushūri antasharat
if You are besought thereby to restore the dead to life, they will rise from their graves,
na unapoombwa kwalo kuwafufua wafu, hufufuka kutoka makaburini mwao,
وَاِذَا دُعِيْتَ بِهِ عَلىٰ كَشْفِ الْبَأْساءِ وَالضَّرَّآءِ انْكَشَفَتْ
Wādhā duʿīta bihi ʿalā kashfi al-baʾsāʾi wālḍḍarraʾāʾi ankashafat
if You are besought thereby to remove misery and adversity, they will be removed.
na unapoombwa kwalo kuondoa shida na dhiki, huondolewa.
وَبِجَلَالِ وَجْهِكَ الْكَرِيْمِ
Wabijalāli wajhika al-karīmi
I also beseech You in the name of the Majesty of Your Noble Face;
Pia nakuomba kwa Utukufu wa Uso Wako Mtukufu;
أَكْرَمِ الْوُجُوْهِ وَاَعَزِّ الْوُجُوْهِ
ʾakrami al-wujūhi wāʿazzi al-wujūhi
the Noblest and most Honored of all faces,
uso mtukufu na wenye kuheshimika zaidi ya nyuso zote,
الَّذِيْ عَنَتْ لَهُ الْوُجُوْهُ
Adh-dhī ʿanat lahu al-wujūhu
before Whom all faces bow down in submission,
ambao mbele yake nyuso zote zinanyenyekea kwa utii,
وَخَضَعَتْ لَهُ الرِّقَابُ،
Wakhaḍaʿat lahu ar-riqābu,
all necks bend down in reverence,
shingo zote zinainama kwa unyenyekevu,
وَخَشَعَتْ لَهُ الْاَصوَاثُ
Wakhashaʿat lahu al-āṣwāthu
all sounds yield,
sauti zote zinatulia,
وَ وَجِلَتْ لَهُ الْقُلُوْبُ مِنْ مَخَافَتِكَ،
Wa wajilat lahu al-qulūbu min makhāfatika,
and all hearts tremble out of fear of You.
na nyoyo zote zinatetemeka kwa kukuogopa Wewe.
وَبِقَوَّتِكَ التِيْ بِهَا نُمْسِكُ السَّمَآءَ اَنْ تَقَعَ عَلىٰ الْاَرْضِ اِلَّا بِإِذنِكَ،
Wabiqawwatika at-tī bihā numsiku as-samaʾāʾa an taqaʿa ʿalā al-ārḍi al-ā biʾidhnika,
I also beseech You by Your Might by which You prevent the sky from falling on the earth except with Your permission,
Pia nakuomba kwa Nguvu Yako ambayo kwayo unazuia mbingu zisianguke kwenye ardhi isipokuwa kwa idhini Yako,
وَتُمْسِكُ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْاَرْضَ اَنْ تَزُوْلَا،
Watumsiku as-samāwāti wālārḍa an tazūlā,
and control the heavens and the earth so closely that they cannot move away from their positions,
na unazuia mbingu na ardhi zisiondoke kwenye nafasi zake,
وَبِمَشِيَّتِكَ الَّتِيْ دَانَ لَهَا الْعَالَمُوْنَ،
Wabimashiyyatika at-tī dāna lahā al-ʿālamūna,
by Your Will, which the whole world obeys,
kwa Matakwa Yako, ambayo ulimwengu mzima unayatii,
وَبِكَلِمَتِكَ الَّتِيْ خَلَقْتَ بِهَا السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضَ
Wabikalimatika at-tī khalaqta bihā as-samāwāti wālʾarḍa
by Your Word by which You have created the heavens and the earth,
kwa Neno Lako ambalo kwayo Uliumba mbingu na ardhi,
وَبِحِكْمَتِكَ الَّتِيْ صَنَعْتَ بِهَا الْعَجَائِبَ،
Wabiḥikmatika at-tī ṣanaʿta bihā al-ʿajāʾiba,
by Your Wisdom with which You have created the wonderful things,
kwa Hekima Yako ambayo kwayo Ulitengeneza mambo ya ajabu,
وَخَلَقْتَ بِهَا الظُّلْمَةَ وَجَعَلْتَهَا لَيْلًا
Wakhalaqta bihā aẓ-ẓulmata wajaʿaltahā laylan
created darkness, made it night,
Ukaumba giza, na ukalifanya kuwa usiku,
وَجَعَلْتَ اللَّيْلَ سَكَنَا،
Wajaʿalta al-layla sakanā,
made night the time of quiet and rest,
ukaufanya usiku kuwa wakati wa utulivu na mapumziko,
وَخَلَقْتَ بِهَا النُّورَ وَجَعَلْتَهُ نَهَارًا،
Wakhalaqta bihā an-nūra wajaʿaltahu nahāran,
created light, made it daylight,
Ukaumba mwanga, na ukaufanya kuwa mchana,
وَجَعَلْتَ النَّهَارَ نُشُوْرًا مُبصِرًا،
Wajaʿalta an-nahāra nushūran mubṣiran,
made day the time of movement and observation,
ukaufanya mchana kuwa wakati wa harakati na kuona,
وَخَلَقْتَ بِهَا الشَّمْسَ وَجَعَلْتَ الشَّمْسَ ضِيَآءً،
Wakhalaqta bihā ash-shamsa wajaʿalta ash-shamsa ḍiyaʾāʾan,
created the sun, made the sun light,
Ukaumba jua, na ukalifanya jua kuwa mwanga wenye kuangaza,
وَخَلَقْتَ بِهَا الْقَمَرَ وَجَعَلْتَ الْقَمَرَ نُورًا،
Wakhalaqta bihā al-qamara wajaʿalta al-qamara nūran,
created the moon, made the moon of light,
Ukaumba mwezi, na ukaufanya mwezi kuwa nuru,
وَخَلَقْتَ بِهَا الْكَوَاكِبَ
Wakhalaqta bihā al-kawākiba
created heavenly bodies,
Ukaumba sayari na magimba ya mbinguni,
وَجَعَلْتَهَا نُجُوْمًا وَبُرُوْجًا وَمَصَابِيْحَ وَزِيْنَةً وَ رُجُوْمًا،
Wajaʿaltahā nujūman waburūjan wamaṣābīḥa wazīnatan wa rujūman,
made them fixed stars, planets, lamps for guidance at night, means of decoration, and missiles,
ukazifanya kuwa nyota, buruji (vituo vya nyota), taa za kuongoza usiku, mapambo, na makombora,
وَجَعَلْتَ لَهَا مَشَارِقَ وَمَغَارِبَ،
Wajaʿalta lahā mashāriqa wamaghāriba,
created for them east and west,
ukaziwekea mashariki na magharibi,
وَجَعَلْتَ لَهَا مَطَالِعَ وَمَجَارِيْ،
Wajaʿalta lahā maṭāliʿa wamajārī,
created for them places of ascendancy and orbits,
ukaziwekea sehemu za kuchomozea na njia za kupita,
وَجَعَلْتَ لَهَا فَلْكًا وَمَسَابِحَ،
Wajaʿalta lahā falkan wamasābiḥa,
created for them a firmament and spheres,
ukaziwekea mzingo (anga) na njia za kuelea,
وَقَدَّرْتَهَا فِي السَّمَاءِ مَنَازِلَ فَاَخْسَنْتَ تَقْدِيْرَهَا،
Waqaddartahā fī as-samāʾi manāzila fākhsanta taqdīrahā,
fixed for them stages in the heaven with excellent fixing,
na ukazikadiria vituo mbinguni, ukafanya vizuri sana ukadiriaji wake,
وَصَوَّرْتَهَا فَاَحْسَنْتَ تَصْوِيْرَهَا
Waṣawwartahā fāḥsanta taṣwīrahā
shaped the stars with excellent shaping,
na ukaziumba kwa sura na ukafanya vizuri sana sura zake,
وَاَحصَيْتَهَا بِاسْمَائِكَ إِخصَاءً
Wāḥṣaytahā biāsmāʾika ʾikhṣāʾan
measured them through Your Names with exact measurement,
na ukazidhibiti kwa Majina Yako udhibiti barabara,
وَ دَبَّرْتَهَا بِحِكْمَتِكَ تَدْبِيْرًا وَاَحْسَنْتَ تَدْبِيْرَهَا،
Wa dabbartahā biḥikmatika tadbīran wāḥsanta tadbīrahā,
designed through Your wisdom a system for them with excellent design,
na ukazipangilia kwa hekima Yako, na ukafanya vizuri sana upangiliaji wake,
وَسَخِّرْتَهَا بِسُلْطَانِ اللَّيْلِ وَسُلْطَانِ النَّهَارِ وَالسَّاعَاتِ وَعَدَدِ السِّنِيْنَ وَالْحِسَابَ
Wasakkhirtahā bisulṭāni al-layli wasulṭāni an-nahāri wālssāʿāti waʿadadi as-sinīna wālḥisāba
controlled the heavenly bodies through the influence of night and the influence of day, and through hours, making them a means for the reckoning of years and counting,
na ukazitiisha chini ya mamlaka ya usiku na mamlaka ya mchana na masaa, na hesabu ya miaka na hesabu ya wakati,
وَجَعَلْتَ رُوْيَتَهَا لِجَمِيعِ النَّاسِ مَنْظَرًا وَاحِدًا،
Wajaʿalta rūyatahā lijamīʿi an-nāsi manẓaran wāḥidan,
and made all people see them alike.
na ukazifanya kuonekana kwa watu wote kwa mtazamo mmoja.
وَاَسْئَلُكَ اللَّهُمَّ بِمَجْدِكَ
Wāsʾaluka Allāhumma bimajdika
I beseech You, O Allah, in the name of Your glory
Nakuomba, Ee Mwenyezi Mungu, kwa utukufu Wako
الَّذِيْ كَلَّمْتَ بِهِ عَبْدَكَ وَرَسُوْلَكَ مُوسَى بْنَ عِمْرَانَ عَلَيْهِ السَّلَامُ فِى الْمُقَدَّسِيْنَ
Adh-dhī kallamta bihi ʿabdaka warasūlaka mūsā bna ʿimrāna ʿalayhi as-salāmu fiā al-muqaddasīna
with which You addressed Your servant and Messenger, Moses the son of 'Imran ('a) while he was in the company of angels;
ambao kwayo Ulingumza na mja Wako na Mtume Wako Musa bin Imran (a.s.) miongoni mwa watakatifu;
فَوْقَ إِحْسَاسِ الْكَرُوبِيِّينَ
Fawqa ʾiḥsāsi al-karūbiyyīna
an address even the favorite cherubim could not ever hear,
juu ya utambuzi wa Karubiyyin (malaika wa karibu kabisa),
فَوْقَ غَمَائِمِ النُّوْرِ
Fawqa ghamāʾimi an-nūri
above the clouds of light,
juu ya mawingu ya nuru,
فَوْقَ تَابُوْتِ الشَّهَادَةِ
Fawqa tābūti ash-shahādati
above the box of evidence,
juu ya sanduku la ushahidi,
فِيْ عَمُوْدِ النَّارِ وَ فِيْ طُوْرِ سَيْنَاءَ
Fī ʿamūdi an-nāri wa fī ṭūri saynāʾa
within the pillar of fire on Mount Sinai
katika nguzo ya moto na kwenye Mlima Sinai
وَ فِيْ جَبَلِ حُوْرِيثَ
Wa fī jabali ḥūrītha
and on Mount Hurith
na kwenye Mlima Hurith,
فِيْ الْوَادِ الْمُقَدَّسِ
Fī al-wādi al-muqaddasi
in the Holy Vale
katika bonde takatifu,
فِي الْبُقْعَةِ الْمُبَارَكَةِ
Fī al-buqʿati al-mubārakati
in the sacred tract of land
katika ardhi iliyobarikiwa,
مِنْ جَانِبِ الطُّورِ الْأَيْمَنِ مِنَ الشَّجَرَةِ
Min jānibi aṭ-ṭūri al-ʾaymani mina ash-shajarati
to the right of Taurus Mountain through a tree,
upande wa kulia wa mlima kutoka kwenye mti,
وَ فِيْ أَرْضِ مِصْرَ بِتِسْعِ أَيَاتٍ بَيِّنَاتٍ
Wa fī ʾarḍi miṣra bitisʿi ʾayātin bayyinātin
[and again addressed him] on the land of Egypt, after showing nine clear signs,
na katika ardhi ya Misri kwa miujiza tisa iliyo wazi,
وَ يَوْمَ فَرَقْتَ لِبَنِى اِسْرَآئِيْلَ الْبَحْرَ
Wa yawma faraqta libaniā israʾāʾīla al-baḥra
and on the day You split the sea for the children of Israel,
na siku ile Uliyoipasua bahari kwa ajili ya Wana wa Israili,
وَ فِيْ الْمُنْبَجِسَاتِ الَّتِي صَنَعْتَ بِهَا الْعَجَائِبَ فِيْ بَحْرِ سُوْفَ
Wa fī al-munbajisāti at-tī ṣanaʿta bihā al-ʿajāʾiba fī baḥri sūfa
and caused springs to flow from a stone, thereby displaying wonders of Your might in a deep sea,
na katika chemchemi zilizobubujika ambazo kwazo ulifanya maajabu katika bahari ya Shamu (Suf),
وَ عَقَدْتَ مَاءَ الْبَحْرِ فِيْ قَلْبِ الْغَمْرِ كَالْحِجَارَةِ
Wa ʿaqadta māʾa al-baḥri fī qalbi al-ghamri kālḥijārati
on the day when You solidified the water of the sea in the midst of the storm,
na Ukayafanya maji ya bahari kuwa magumu katikati ya kilindi kama mawe,
وَ جَاوَزْتَ بِبَنِى اِسْرَائِيْلَ الْبَحْرَ
Wa jāwazta bibaniā isrāʾīla al-baḥra
caused the children of Israel to pass by the sea,
Ukawavusha Wana wa Israili katika bahari hiyo,
وَ تَمَّتْ كَلِمَتُكَ الْحُسْنى عَلَيْهِمْ بِمَا صَبَرُوْا
Wa tammat kalimatuka al-ḥusnā ʿalayhim bimā ṣabarūā
and fulfilled Your excellent promises made to them because of their calm endurance,
na likatimia Neno Lako zuri juu yao kwa sababu ya kusubiri kwao,
وَ اَوْرَثْتَهُمْ مَشَارِقَ الْاَرْضِ وَ مَغَارِبَهَا الَتِى بَارَكْتَ فِيْهَا لِلْعَالَمِيْنَ
Wa awrathtahum mashāriqa al-ārḍi wa maghāribahā at-tiā bārakta fīhā lilʿālamīna
made them the master of the East and the West in the earth wherein there are blessings for all the worlds,
na Ukawarithisha mashariki na magharibi ya ardhi ambayo Uliibariki kwa walimwengu wote,
وَ اَغْرَقْتَ فِرْعَوْنَ وَ جُنُوْدَهُ وَ مَرَاكِبَهُ فِيْ الْيَمِّ
Wa aghraqta firʿawna wa junūdahu wa marākibahu fī al-yammi
drowned Pharaoh, his armies, and boats in the water.
na Ukamgharikisha Firauni, majeshi yake, na merikebu zake baharini.
وَ بِاسْمِكَ الْعَظِيْمِ الْاَعْظَمِ الْاَعَزِّ الْاَجَلِّ الْاكْرَمِ
Wa biāsmika al-ʿaẓīmi al-āʿẓami al-āʿazzi al-ājalli al-ākrami
[I beseech You] by Your Name, the great, the Most Great, the Most Honorable, Most Majestic, and Most Noble,
[Nakuomba] kwa Jina Lako Kuu, Tukufu zaidi, lenye Nguvu zaidi, lenye Adhama zaidi na lenye Karama zaidi,
وَ بِمَجْدِكَ الَّذِي تَجَلَّيْتَ بِهِ لِمُوسَى كَلِيْمِكَ عَلَيْهِ السَّلَامُ فِيْ طُوْرِ سَيْنَآءَ
Wa bimajdika adh-dhī tajallayta bihi limūsā kalīmika ʿalayhi as-salāmu fī ṭūri saynaʾāʾa
and by Your Glory with which You revealed Yourself as light to Moses, Your addressee, peace be on him, on Mount Sinai,
na kwa Utukufu Wako ambao kwayo Ulijidhihirisha kwa Musa mzungumzaji Wako (a.s.) kwenye Mlima Sinai,
وَ لِإِبْرَاهِيْمَ عَلَيْهِ السَّلَامُ خَلِيْلِكَ مِنْ قَبْلُ فِي مَسْجِدِ الْخَيْفِ
Wa liʾibrāhīma ʿalayhi as-salāmu khalīlika min qablu fī masjidi al-khayfi
and earlier radiated the light for Abraham, Your sincere friend peace be on him, in the Mosque of al-Khif,
na kabla yake Ukadhihirisha nuru kwa Ibrahimu rafiki Wako mpendwa (a.s.) katika Msikiti wa Al-Khaif,
وَ لِإِسْحَاقَ صَفِيِّكَ عَلَيْهِ السَّلَامُ فِى بِئْرِ شِيَعٍ
Wa liʾisḥāqa ṣafiyyika ʿalayhi as-salāmu fiā biʾri shiyaʿin
and for Isaac, Your chosen Prophet, peace be on him, in Shi' Well,
na kwa Isaka mteule Wako (a.s.) kwenye kisima cha Shiyaa,
وَ لِيَعْقُوْبَ نَبِيِّكَ عَلَيْهِ السَّلَامُ فِى بَيْتِ اِيْلٍ
Wa liyaʿqūba nabiyyika ʿalayhi as-salāmu fiā bayti īlin
and for Your Prophet Jacob, peace be on him, in Bayt Il,
na kwa Yakobo Mtume Wako (a.s.) huko Bait-El,
وَ اَوْفَيْتَ لِإِبْرَاهِيْمَ عَلَيْهِ السَّلَامُ بِمِيْثَاقِكَ
Wa awfayta liʾibrāhīma ʿalayhi as-salāmu bimīthāqika
and You fulfilled Your promise to Abraham, peace be on him,
na Ukatimiza agano Lako kwa Ibrahimu (a.s.),
وَلإِسْحَاقَ بِحَلْفِكَ
Walʾisḥāqa biḥalfika
Your oath in favor of Isaac,
na kiapo Chako kwa Isaka,
وَ لِيَعْقُوْبَ بِشَهَادَتِكَ
Wa liyaʿqūba bishahādatika
Your witnessing favoring Jacob,
na ushahidi Chako kwa Yakobo,
وَ لِلْمُؤْمِنِيْنَ بِوَعْدِكَ
Wa lilmuʾminīna biwaʿdika
the fulfillments of Your promise to the faithful believers,
na ahadi Yako kwa waumini,
وَ لِلدَّاعِيْنَ بِاسْمَائِكَ فَاجَبْتَ
Wa lilddāʿīna biāsmāʾika fājabta
and Your Names with which You accepted the prayers of supplicants,
na kwa Majina Yako ambayo kwayo Ulijibu maombi ya waombaji,
وَ بِمَجْدِكَ الَّذِي ظَهَرَ لِمُوسَى بْنِ عِمْرَانَ عَلَيْهِ السَّلَامُ عَلَىٰ قُبَّةِ الرُّمَّانِ
Wa bimajdika adh-dhī ẓahara limūsā bni ʿimrāna ʿalayhi as-salāmu ʿalā qubbati ar-rummāni
and by Your Glory, which appeared to Moses, the son of 'Imran, in al-Rumman Dome,
na kwa Utukufu Wako uliojidhihirisha kwa Musa bin Imran (a.s.) juu ya Kuba la Al-Rumman,
وَ بِأَيَاتِكَ الَّتِي وَقَعَتْ عَلَىٰ أَرْضِ مِصْرَ
Wa biʾayātika at-tī waqaʿat ʿalā ʾarḍi miṣra
and by Your Signs, which appeared in the land of Egypt
na kwa ishara Zako zilizotokea katika ardhi ya Misri
بِمَجْدِ الْعِزَّةِ وَ الْغَلَبَةِ
Bimajdi al-ʿizzati wa al-ghalabati
with great might and victory,
kwa utukufu wa nguvu na ushindi,
بِأَيَاتٍ عَزِيْزَةٍ
Biʾayātin ʿazīzatin
with powerful signs,
kwa ishara zenye nguvu,
وَ بِسُلْطَانِ الْقُوَّةِ
Wa bisulṭāni al-quwwati
with the display of full command,
na kwa mamlaka ya nguvu,
وَ بِعِزَّةِ الْقُدْرَةِ
Wa biʿizzati al-qudrati
great power,
na kwa nguvu za uwezo,
وَ بِشَأْنِ الْكَلِمَةِ التَّامَّةِ
Wa bishaʾni al-kalimati at-tāmmati
the affair of the perfect word,
na kwa daraja ya neno lililokamilika,
وَ بِكَلِمَاتِكَ الَّتِي تَفَضَّلْتَ بِهَا عَلَىٰ اَهْلِ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَ الْأَرْضِ
Wa bikalimātika at-tī tafaḍḍalta bihā ʿalā ahli as-samāwāti wa al-ʾarḍi
and by Your words with which You do a favor to the inhabitants of the skies and the earth
na kwa Maneno Yako ambayo kwayo Ulifanya hisani kwa wakazi wa mbinguni na ardhi,
وَ اَهْلِ الدُّنْيَا وَ اَهْلِ الْأخِرَةِ
Wa ahli ad-dunyā wa ahli al-ʾkhirati
and the people of this world and the Next World,
na watu wa dunia hii na Akhera,
وَ بِرَحْمَتِكَ الَّتِي مَنَنْتَ بِهَا عَلَى جَمِيْعِ خَلْقِكَ
Wa biraḥmatika at-tī mananta bihā ʿalā jamīʿi khalqika
and by Your Mercy with which You bestow graces upon all Your creatures,
na kwa Rehema Yako ambayo kwayo Uliwafanyia wema viumbe Vyako vyote,
وَ بِاسْتِطَاعَتِكَ الَّتِي اَقَمْتَ بِهَا عَلَى الْعَالَمِيْنَ
Wa biāstiṭāʿatika at-tī aqamta bihā ʿalā al-ʿālamīna
and by Your Power with which You dominate the worlds,
na kwa uwezo Wako ambao kwayo ulisimamisha walimwengu wote,
وَ بِنُوْرِكَ الَّذِي قَدْ خَرَّ مِنْ فَزَعِهِ طُوْرُ سَيْنَاءَ
Wa binūrika adh-dhī qad kharra min fazaʿihi ṭūru saynāʾa
and by Your Light through fear of which Mount Sinai collapsed,
na kwa Nuru Yako ambayo kwa hofu yake mlima Sinai uliporomoka,
وَ بِعِلْمِكَ وَ جَلَالِكَ وَ كِبْرِيَآئِكَ وَ عِزَّتِكَ
Wa biʿilmika wa jalālika wa kibriyaʾāʾika wa ʿizzatika
and by Your Knowledge, Majesty, Greatness, Honor,
na kwa Elimu Yako, Utukufu Wako, Ukubwa Wako, na Nguvu Yako,
وَ جَبَرُوْتِكَ الَّتِي لَمْ تَسْتَقِلَّهَا الْأَرْضُ
Wa jabarūtika at-tī lam tastaqillahā al-ʾarḍu
and Might, which the earth could not bear,
na Uwezo Wako Mkuu ambao ardhi haikuweza kuubeba,
وَ انْخَفَضَتْ لَهَا السَّمَاوَاتُ
Wa ankhafaḍat lahā as-samāwātu
the heavens bent down,
na mbingu zikainama kwake,
وَ انْزَجَرَ لَهَا الْعُمْقُ الْاَكْبَرُ
Wa anzajara lahā al-ʿumqu al-ākbaru
the great depths restrained themselves,
na vilindi vikubwa kabisa vikaogopa na kujizuia,
وَ رَكَدَتْ لَهَا الْبِحَارُ وَ الْاَنْهارُ
Wa rakadat lahā al-biḥāru wa al-ānhāru
oceans and rivers became stable,
na bahari na mito vikawa tulivu,
وَ خَضَعَتْ لَهَا الْجِبَالَ
Wa khaḍaʿat lahā al-jibāla
mountains yielded,
na milima ikanyenyekea kwake,
وَ سَكَنَتْ لَهَا الْأَرْضُ بِمَنَاكِبِهَا
Wa sakanat lahā al-ʾarḍu bimanākibihā
the earth became firm on its shoulders,
na ardhi ikatulia kwa pande zake zote,
وَ اسْتَسْلَمَتْ لَهَا الْخَلَائِقُ كُلُّهَا
Wa astaslamat lahā al-khalāʾiqu kulluhā
all creatures surrendered,
na viumbe vyote vikalemewa na kusalimu amri kwake,
وَ خَفَقَتْ لَهَا الرِّيَاحُ فِي جَرَيَانِهَا
Wa khafaqat lahā ar-riyāḥu fī jarayānihā
the winds breathed in their flow,
na pepo zikatetemeka katika mivumo yake,
وَ خَمَدَتْ لَهَا النِّيْرَانُ فِىْ اَوْطَانِهَا
Wa khamadat lahā an-nīrānu fiā awṭānihā
and the flaming fires were extinguished in their places,
na moto ukazimika katika sehemu zake,
وَ بِسُلْطَانِكَ الَّذِي عُرِفَتْ لَكَ بِهِ الْغَلَبَةُ دَهْرَ الدُّهُوْرِ
Wa bisulṭānika adh-dhī ʿurifat laka bihi al-ghalabatu dahra ad-duhūri
and by Your authority through which You are acknowledged to have All-powerfulness all the times
na kwa mamlaka Yako ambayo kwayo unatambulika kuwa na ushindi katika zama zote,
وَ حُمِدْتَ بِهِ فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَ الْاَرَضِيْنَ
Wa ḥumidta bihi fī as-samāwāti wa al-āraḍīna
and for which You are praised in the heavens and the earth,
na ambayo kwayo unahimidiwa mbinguni na ardhini,
وَ بِكَلِمَتِكَ كَلِمَةِ الصِّدْقِ الَّتِي سَبَقَتْ لِاَبِيْنَا أَدَمَ عَلَيْهِ السَّلَامُ وَ ذُرِّيَّتِهِ بِالرَّحْمَةِ
Wa bikalimatika kalimati aṣ-ṣidqi at-tī sabaqat liābīnā ʾadama ʿalayhi as-salāmu wa dhurriyyatihi biālrraḥmati
and by Your word, the Word of Truth, which had became mercy for our father Adam and his offspring,
na kwa Neno Lako, Neno la Ukweli ambalo lilitangulia kwa baba yetu Adamu (a.s.) na kizazi chake kwa rehema,
وَ اَسْئَلُكَ بِكَلِمَتِكَ الَّتِي غَلَبَتْ كُلَّ شَيْءٍ
Wa asʾaluka bikalimatika at-tī ghalabat kulla shayʾin
and I ask You by Your word that overcame everything,
na nakuomba kwa Neno Lako lililoshinda kila kitu,
وَ بِنُوْرِ وَجْهِكَ الَّذِي تَجَلَّيْتَ بِهِ لِلْجَبَلِ فَجَعَلْتَهُ دَكًّا وَ خَرَّ مُوسَىٰ صَعِقًا
Wa binūri wajhika adh-dhī tajallayta bihi liljabali fajaʿaltahu dakkan wa kharra mūsā ṣaʿiqan
and by the light of Your Face, which when You showed to the Mount, You caused it to crush into pieces, whereby Moses fainted and fell down,
na kwa nuru ya Uso Wako ambayo ulipoionyesha kwa mlima, Uliufanya ukasagika kabisa na Musa akaanguka chini na kuzimia,
وَ بِمَجْدِكَ الَّذِي ظَهَرَ عَلىٰ طُوْرِ سَيْنَاءَ فَكَلَّمْتَ بِهِ عَبْدَكَ وَ رَسُوْلَكَ مُوسَى بْنَ عِمْرَانَ
Wa bimajdika adh-dhī ẓahara ʿalā ṭūri saynāʾa fakallamta bihi ʿabdaka wa rasūlaka mūsā bna ʿimrāna
and by Your Glory, which appeared on Mount Sinai, and through which You addressed Your servant and Messenger, Moses, the son of 'Imran,
na kwa Utukufu Wako uliojitokeza kwenye mlima Sinai, ukasema kwa huo na mja Wako na Mtume Wako Musa bin Imran,
وَ بِطَلْعَتِكَ فِي سَاعِيْرَ
Wa biṭalʿatika fī sāʿīra
and by Your appearance in Sa'ir,
na kwa kudhihiri Kwako huko Seiri (Sa'ir),
وَ ظُهُوْرِكَ فِي جَبَلِ فَارَانَ بِرَبَوَاتِ الْمُقَدَّسِِيْنَ
Wa ẓuhūrika fī jabali fārāna birabawāti al-muqaddasīna
and by Your appearance on Mount Faran on the heights of the holy ones,
na kwa kudhihiri Kwako kwenye mlima wa Parani (Faran) kwenye miinuko ya watakatifu,
وَ جُنُوْدِ الْمَلَائِكَةِ الصَّافِّيْنَ
Wa junūdi al-malāʾikati aṣ-ṣāffīna
When the troops of angels were in rows,
wakati majeshi ya malaika walipokuwa katika safu,
وَ خُشُوْعِ الْمَلَائِكَةِ الْمُسَبِّحِيْنَ
Wa khushūʿi al-malāʾikati al-musabbiḥīna
and with the submissiveness of the angels glorifying You,
na kwa unyenyekevu wa malaika wenye kukutakasa,
وَ بِبَرَكَاتِكَ الَّتِي بَارَكْتَ فِيْهَا عَلَىٰ اِبْرَاهِيْمَ خَلِيْلِكَ عَلَيْهِ السَّلَامُ فِى أُمَّةِ مُحَمَّدٍ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَ آلِهِ
Wa bibarakātika at-tī bārakta fīhā ʿalā ibrāhīma khalīlika ʿalayhi as-salāmu fiā ʾummati muḥammadin ṣallā Allāhu ʿalayhi wa ālihi
and by Your blessings by which You honored Abraham, Your sincere friend ('a) among the people of Muhammad, Your blessings be upon him and his household,
na kwa baraka Zako ambazo kwayo Ulimbariki Ibrahimu rafiki Wako (a.s.) katika umma wa Muhammad, rehema za Mwenyezi Mungu ziwe juu yake na kizazi chake,
وَ بَارَكْتَ لِإِسْحَاقَ صَفِيِّكَ فِي أُمَّةِ عِيْسِىٰ عَلَيْهِمَا السَّلَامُ
Wa bārakta liʾisḥāqa ṣafiyyika fī ʾummati ʿīsiā ʿalayhimā as-salāmu
and You blessed Isaac, Your chosen prophet, among the followers of Jesus, peace be on them both,
na Ukambariki Isaka mteule Wako katika umma wa Isa (a.s.), amani iwe juu yao wote wawili,
وَ بَارَكْتَ لِيَعْقُوْبَ اِسْرَآئِيْلِكَ فِي أُمَّةِ مُوسَىٰ عَلَيْهِمَا السَّلَامُ
Wa bārakta liyaʿqūba israʾāʾīlika fī ʾummati mūsā ʿalayhimā as-salāmu
and You blessed Jacob, Your favored servant, by including him among the followers of Moses, peace be on them both,
na Ukambariki Yakobo (Israili Wako) katika umma wa Musa (a.s.), amani iwe juu yao wote wawili,
وَ بَارَكْتَ لِحَبِيْبِكَ مُحَمَّدٍ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَ آلِهِ فِي عِثْرَتِهِ وَ ذُرِّيَّتِهِ وَ اُمَّتِهِ
Wa bārakta liḥabībika muḥammadin ṣallā Allāhu ʿalayhi wa ālihi fī ʿithratihi wa dhurriyyatihi wa ummatihi
and blessed Your intimate beloved, Muhammad, may the blessings of Allah be upon him and his Household, in his offspring, offspring, and people.
na Ukambariki mpendwa Wako Muhammad, rehema za Mwenyezi Mungu ziwe juu yake na kizazi chake, katika kizazi chake, dhuriya zake na umma wake.
اللَّهُمَّ وَ كَمَا غِبْنَا عَنْ ذَلِكَ وَ لَمْ نَشْهَدْهُ وَ آمَنَّا بِهِ وَ لَمْ نَرَهُ صِدْقًا وَ عَدْلًا
Allāhumma wa kamā ghibnā ʿan dhalika wa lam nashhadhu wa āmannā bihi wa lam narahu ṣidqan wa ʿadlan
O Allah! Just as we were absent from that but we believe in it honestly and truly,
Ee Mwenyezi Mungu! Na kama vile tulivyokuwa hatupo katika hayo na hatukuyashuhudia na bado tukayaamini kwa ukweli na uadilifu ingawa hatukuyaona,
أَنْ تُصَلِّيَ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ
ʾan tuṣalliya ʿalā muḥammadin wa āli muḥammadin
So we beseech You to send Your benedictions upon Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad,
basi tunakuomba umshukishie rehema Muhammad na kizazi cha Muhammad,
وَ أَنْ تُبَارِكَ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ
Wa ʾan tubārika ʿalā muḥammadin wa āli muḥammadin
to bless Muhammad and the household of Muhammad,
na ubariki Muhammad na kizazi cha Muhammad,
وَ تَرَحَّمَ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ
Wa taraḥḥama ʿalā muḥammadin wa āli muḥammadin
and to have mercy on Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad
na urehemu Muhammad na kizazi cha Muhammad
كَأَفْضَلِ مَا صَلَّيْتَ وَ بَارَكْتَ وَ تَرَحَّمْتَ عَلَى إِبْرَاهِيْمَ وَ آلِ إِبْرَاهِيْمَ
Kaʾafḍali mā ṣallayta wa bārakta wa taraḥḥamta ʿalā ʾibrāhīma wa āli ʾibrāhīma
with the most auspicious benedictions, blessings, and mercy that You sent to Abraham and the posterity of Abraham.
kwa bora zaidi ya vile ulivyomshukishie rehema, baraka na kumrehemu Ibrahimu na kizazi cha Ibrahimu.
إِنَّكَ حَمِيْدٌ مَجِيْدٌ
ʾinnaka ḥamīdun majīdun
Surely, You are Praiseworthy, Glorious,
Hakika Wewe ni Mwenye Kuhimidiwa, Mtukufu,
فَعَّالٌ لِمَا تُرِيْدُ
Faʿʿālun limā turīdu
and Doer of what You will.
na Mwenye kufanya kile unachokitaka.
وَ أَنْتَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيْرٌ.
Wa ʾanta ʿalā kulli shayʾin qadīrun.
You are Powerful over all things.
Na Wewe ni Muweza wa kila kitu.
You may now beseech Almighty Allah to grant you your personal requests. Then, say the following:
Sasa unaweza kumuomba Mwenyezi Mungu Mtukufu akupe mahitaji yako binafsi. Kisha, sema yafuatayo:
اَللَّهُمَّ بِحَقِّ هَذَا الدُّعَاءِ،
Allāhumma biḥaqqi hadhā ad-duʿāʾi,
O Allah, in the name of this prayer
Ee Mwenyezi Mungu, kwa haki ya dua hii
وَ بِحَقِّ هَذِهِ الْأَسْمَاءِ
Wa biḥaqqi hadhihi al-ʾasmāʾi
and in the name of these Names
na kwa haki ya Majina haya
الَّتِي لَا يَعْلَمُ تَفْسِيْرَهَا
At-tī lā yaʿlamu tafsīrahā
which none knows their exegesis
ambao hakuna mtu anayejua tafsiri yao
وَ لَا يَعْلَمُ بَاطِنَهَا غَيْرُكَ
Wa lā yaʿlamu bāṭinahā ghayruka
or their implicit meanings save You,
wala maana zake za ndani asiye kuwa Wewe,
صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ
Ṣalli ʿalā muḥammadin wa āli muḥammadin
(please) send Your blessings upon Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad,
(tafadhali) mshukishie rehema Muhammad na kizazi cha Muhammad,
وَ افْعَلْ بِي مَا أَنْتَ أَهْلُهُ،
Wa afʿal bī mā ʾanta ʾahluhu,
do to me that of which You are worthy,
nitendee yale yanayostahili utukufu Wako,
وَ لَا تَفْعَلْ بِي مَا أَنَا أَهْلُهُ،
Wa lā tafʿal bī mā ʾanā ʾahluhu,
do not do to me what I deserve,
wala usinitendee yale ninayostahili mimi,
وَ اغْفِرْ لِي مِنْ ذُنُوْبِي مَا تَقَدَّمَ مِنْهَا وَ مَا تَأَخَّرَ،
Wa aghfir lī min dhunūbī mā taqaddama minhā wa mā taʾakkhara,
forgive my sins - past and future,
unisamehe madhambi yangu - yaliyopita na yajayo,
وَ وَسِّعْ عَلَيَّ مِنْ حَلَالِ رِزْقِكَ،
Wa wassiʿ ʿalayya min ḥalāli rizqika,
increase Your lawful sustenance for me,
na unipanie katika riziki Yako ya halali,
وَ اكْفِنِي مَؤُنَةَ إِنْسَانِ سَوْءٍ،
Wa akfinī maʾunata ʾinsāni sawʾin,
and save me from the trouble of wicked men,
na uniepushe na shida za mtu mbaya,
وَ جَارِ سَوْءٍ،
Wa jāri sawʾin,
wicked neighbors,
jirani mbaya,
وَ قَرِيْنِ سَوْءٍ،
Wa qarīni sawʾin,
wicked companions,
mwenzi mbaya,
وَ سُلْطَانِ سَوْءٍ،
Wa sulṭāni sawʾin,
and wicked rulers.
na mtawala mbaya.
إِنَّكَ عَلَى مَا تَشَاءُ قَدِيْرٌ
ʾinnaka ʿalā mā tashāʾu qadīrun
Verily, You have power over all that You will to do
Hakika Wewe ni Muweza juu ya kile unachokitaka
وَ بِكُلِّ شَيْءٍ عَلِيْمٌ
Wa bikulli shayʾin ʿalīmun
and You have full knowledge of all things.
na Wewe ni Mjuzi wa kila kitu.
آمِيْنَ رَبَّ الْعَالَمِيْنَ.
Āmīna rabba al-ʿālamīna.
Respond to me, O Lord of the worlds.
Itikia maombi yangu, Ee Mola wa walimwengu wote.
Then, say the following (as recommended by Sayyid Ibn Baqi):
Kisha sema yafuatayo (kama ilivyopendekezwa na Sayyid Ibn Baqi):
اَللَّهُمَّ بِحَقِّ هَذَا الدُّعَاءِ وَ بِحَقِّ هَذِهِ الْأَسْمَاءِ
Allāhumma biḥaqqi hadhā ad-duʿāʾi wa biḥaqqi hadhihi al-ʾasmāʾi
O Allah! I beseech You in the name of this prayer and in the name of these Names
Ee Mwenyezi Mungu! Nakuomba kwa haki ya dua hii na kwa haki ya Majina haya
الَّتِي لَا يَعْلَمُ تَفْسِيْرَهَا وَ لَا تَأْوِيْلَهَا وَ لَا بَاطِنَهَا وَ لَا ظَاهِرَهَا غَيْرُكَ
At-tī lā yaʿlamu tafsīrahā wa lā taʾwīlahā wa lā bāṭinahā wa lā ẓāhirahā ghayruka
which none knows their exegesis or interpretation and none knows their implicit or explicit meanings save You,
ambayo hakuna anayejua tafsiri yake wala maelezo yake wala siri zake za ndani wala za nje isipokuwa Wewe,
أَنْ تُصَلِّيَ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ
ʾan tuṣalliya ʿalā muḥammadin wa āli muḥammadin
to send Your blessings upon Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad
umshukishie rehema Muhammad na kizazi cha Muhammad
وَ أَنْ تَرْزُقَنِي خَيْرَ الدُّنْيَا وَ الْآخِرَةِ
Wa ʾan tarzuqanī khayra ad-dunyā wa al-ākhirati
and to provide me with the good of this world and the Next World.
na kuruzuku heri ya dunia hii na Akhera.
وَ لِوَالِدَيَّ وَ لِجَمِيْعِ الْمُؤْمِنِيْنَ وَ الْمُؤْمِنَاتِ
Wa liwālidayya wa lijamīʿi al-muʾminīna wa al-muʾmināti
and forgive my parents and all faithful believers - men and women,
na uwasamehe wazazi wangu na waumini wote wa kiume na wa kike,
وَ انْتَقِمْ لِي مِمَّنْ يَكِيْدُنِي وَ مِمَّنْ يَبْغِي عَلَيَّ
Wa antaqim lī mimman yakīdunī wa mimman yabghī ʿalayya
and exact vengeance for me on everyone who hatches secret plots against me, and on everyone who oppresses me,
na unilipizie kisasi kwa yeyote anayenifanyia hila, na kwa kila anayenidhulumu,
وَ يُرِيْدُ بِي وَ بِأَهْلِي وَ أَوْلَادِي وَ إِخْوَانِي وَ جِيْرَانِي وَ قَرَابَاتِي مِنَ الْمُؤْمِنِيْنَ وَ الْمُؤْمِنَاتِ ظُلْمًا
Wa yurīdu bī wa biʾahlī wa ʾawlādī wa ʾikhwānī wa jīrānī wa qarābātī mina al-muʾminīna wa al-muʾmināti ẓulman
and seeks to do injustice to me, my wife, my children, my brothers, my neighbors, and my relatives among faithful men and women
na anayetaka kunidhulumu mimi, mke wangu, watoto wangu, ndugu zangu, majirani zangu, na jamaa zangu miongoni mwa waumini wa kiume na wa kike
You may then say the following:
Kisha unaweza kusema yafuatayo:
اَللَّهُمَّ بِحَقِّ هَذَا الدُّعَاءِ تَفَضَّلْ عَلَى فُقَرَاءِ الْمُؤْمِنِيْنَ وَ الْمُؤْمِنَاتِ بِالْغِنَى وَ الثَّرْوَةِ
Allāhumma biḥaqqi hadhā ad-duʿāʾi tafaḍḍal ʿalā fuqarāʾi al-muʾminīna wa al-muʾmināti biālghinā wa ath-tharwati
O Allah! In the name of this prayer, I beseech You to grant wealth and affluence to indigent faithful men and women,
Ee Mwenyezi Mungu! Kwa haki ya dua hii, nakuomba uwape ukwasi na utajiri mafukara waumini wa kiume na wa kike,
وَ عَلَى مَرْضَى الْمُؤْمِنِيْنَ وَ الْمُؤْمِنَاتِ بِالشِّفَاءِ وَ الصِّحَّةِ
Wa ʿalā marḍā al-muʾminīna wa al-muʾmināti biālsshifāʾi wa aṣ-ṣiḥḥati
recovery and wellbeing to the sick faithful men and women,
na uponyaji na afya njema kwa waumini wagonjwa wa kiume na wa kike,
وَ عَلَى أَحْيَاءِ الْمُؤْمِنِيْنَ وَ الْمُؤْمِنَاتِ بِاللُّطْفِ وَ الْكَرَامَةِ
Wa ʿalā ʾaḥyāʾi al-muʾminīna wa al-muʾmināti biāllluṭfi wa al-karāmati
bliss and clemency to the living faithful men and women,
na upole na ukarimu kwa waumini walio hai wa kiume na wa kike,
وَ عَلَى أَمْوَاتِ الْمُؤْمِنِيْنَ وَ الْمُؤْمِنَاتِ بِالْمَغْفِرَةِ وَ الرَّحْمَةِ
Wa ʿalā ʾamwāti al-muʾminīna wa al-muʾmināti biālmaghfirati wa ar-raḥmati
remit the sins of, and have mercy on, the deceased faithful men and women,
na msamaha na rehema kwa waumini waliofariki wa kiume na wa kike,
وَ عَلَى مُسَافِرِي الْمُؤْمِنِيْنَ وَ الْمُؤْمِنَاتِ بِالرَّدِّ إِلَى أَوْطَانِهِمْ سَالِمِيْنَ غَانِمِيْنَ
Wa ʿalā musāfirī al-muʾminīna wa al-muʾmināti biālrraddi ʾilā ʾawṭānihim sālimīna ghānimīna
and arrange the return of all faithful travelers with safety and gain,
na urejesho wa wasafiri wote waumini kwenye nchi zao salama na wenye kufanikiwa,
بِرَحْمَتِكَ يَا أَرْحَمَ الرَّاحِمِيْنَ
Biraḥmatika yā ʾarḥama ar-rāḥimīna
by Your mercy, O Most Merciful of all those who show mercy.
kwa rehema Yako, Ee Mwingi wa rehema kuliko wote wanaorehemu.
وَ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَى سَيِّدِنَا مُحَمَّدٍ خَاتَمِ النَّبِيِّيْنَ وَ عِثْرَتِهِ الطَّاهِرِيْنَ وَ سَلَّمَ تَسْلِيْمًا كَثِيْرًا.
Wa ṣallā Allāhu ʿalā sayyidinā muḥammadin khātami an-nabiyyīna wa ʿithratihi aṭ-ṭāhirīna wa sallama taslīman kathīran.
May Allah send blessings to our master Muhammad, the Seal of the Prophets, and upon his Household, the purified, and send peace upon them in abundant measure.
