مروي عن الأئمة المعصومين عليهم السلام في كتب الأدعية المعتبرة.
Ninth: Al-Kulayni, Ibn Baabwayh, and others have reported through valid chains of authority that Imam Muhammad al-Baqir (a.s.) related the following: One day, a man called Shaybah al-Hudhali came to the Holy Prophet (s.a.w.a.) and asked, 'O Allah's Messenger, I am an old man; I am too old and too weak to do acts of worship that I used to do, such as prayers, fasting, going on Hajj, and jihad. So, please teach me some words by which Almighty Allah will benefit me and make them as easy as possible for me.' The Holy Prophet (s.a.w.a.) asked the man to repeat his request three times. Then the Holy Prophet (s.a.w.a.) answered, 'All trees and rocks around you have wept for you out of mercy. When you accomplish the dawn (fajr) Prayer, you may repeat the following doxology (zikr) ten times:'
La tisa: Al-Kulayni, Ibn Babawayh, na wengineo wameripoti kupitia silsila sahihi za mamlaka kwamba Imam Muhammad al-Baqir (a.s.) alisimulia yafuatayo: Siku moja, mtu mmoja aitwaye Shaybah al-Hudhali alikuja kwa Mtume Mtukufu (s.a.w.w.) na kuuliza, 'Ee Mjumbe wa Mwenyezi Mungu, mimi ni mzee; ni mzee sana na dhaifu sana kufanya ibada nilizokuwa nikizifanya, kama vile swala, saumu, kwenda Hijja, na jihadi. Kwa hiyo, tafadhali nifundishe maneno ambayo Mwenyezi Mungu Mtukufu atanufaisha kwayo na uyafanye yawe mepesi iwezekanavyo kwangu.' Mtume Mtukufu (s.a.w.w.) akamwambia mtu huyo arudie ombi lake mara tatu. Kisha Mtume Mtukufu (s.a.w.w.) akajibu, 'Miti yote na mawe yote yanayokuzunguka yamekulilia kwa huruma. Unapomaliza Swala ya Alfajiri (Fajr), unaweza kurudia dhikri ifuatayo mara kumi:'
سُبْحَانَ اللهِ الْعَظِيمِ وَبِحَمْدِهِ
Subḥāna Allāhi al-ʿaẓīmi wa-bi-ḥamdih
All glory be to Allah, the All-great, and in praise of Him.
Utakasifu ni wa Mwenyezi Mungu Aliye Mkuu, na sifa njema ni Zake.
There is neither might nor power except with Allah, the All-high, the All-great.
Na hakuna nguvu wala uwezo ila kwa msaada wa Mwenyezi Mungu, Aliye Juu, Aliye Mkuu.
The man said, 'This was for worldly affairs; what do you have for me for the Hereafter?' The Holy Prophet (s.a.w.a.) said, 'You may say the following supplicatory prayer after accomplishing every prayer:'
Mtu yule akasema, 'Haya yalikuwa kwa ajili ya mambo ya dunia; una nini kwa ajili yangu kwa ajili ya Akhera?' Mtume Mtukufu (s.a.w.w.) akasema, 'Unaweza kusema dua ifuatayo baada ya kumaliza kila swala:'
اَللّهُمَّ اهْدِنِى مِنْ عِنْدِكَ
Allāhumma ihdinī min ʿindik
O Allah, (please) endue me with guidance from You,
Ee Mwenyezi Mungu, niongoze kutoka Kwako,
وَأَفِض عَلَىَّ مِنْ فَضْلِكَ
Wa-afiḍ ʿalayya min faḍlik
bestow upon me with Your favors,
na unimwagie fadhila Zako,
وَانْشُرْ عَلَىَّ مِنْ رَحْمَتِكَ
Wan-shur ʿalayya min raḥmatik
spread on me Your mercy,
na ueneze juu yangu rehema Zako,
وَاَنْزِلَ عَلَىَّ مِنْ بَرَكَاتِكَ.
Wa-anzil ʿalayya min barakātik
and pour down on me Your blessings.
na unishushie baraka Zako.
If this man comes on the Resurrection Day abiding by these supplicatory prayers without neglecting them deliberately, all the eight gates of Paradise will be opened before him so that he can enter from any gate he wishes.
Ikiwa mtu huyu atakuja Siku ya Kiyama akiwa ameshikamana na dua hizi bila kuzipuuza kwa makusudi, milango yote minane ya Peponi itafunguliwa mbele yake ili aweze kuingia kupitia mlango wowote anaotaka.
