DUA FOR THE EIGHTH HOUR
The eighth hour, which is the space of time between the
amount of four units of prayer after the Noon Prayer and the
Afternoon Prayer, is dedicated to Imam Ali ibn Musa al-
Rida(a.s.). The supplication at this hour is the following:

DUA YA SAHA YA NANE
Saha ya nane, ambayo ni muda kati ya
amali nne za sala baada ya Sala ya Adhuhuri na
Sala ya Alasiri, imewekwa kwa Imam Ali ibn Musa al-Rida(a.s.).
Dua katika saa hii ni kama ifuatavyo:
يَا خَيْرَ مَدْعُوٍ
Yā khayra madʿuwin
O Best of all besought ones!
Ewe mbora wa wote wanaoomnbiwa!
يَا خَيْرَ مَنْ اَغْطى
Yā khayra man aghṭā
O Best of all givers!
Ewe mbora wa wote wanaotoa!
يَا خَيْرَ مَنْ سُئِلَ
Yā khayra man suʾila
O Best of all asked ones!
Ewe mbora wa wote wanaoulizwa!
يَا مَنْ آَضَآءَ بِاسْمِهِ ضَوْءُ النَّهَارِ
Yā man āḍaʾāʾa biāsmihi ḍawʾu an-nahāri
O He by Whose Name the light of days beams,
Ewe Yeye ambaye kwa Jina Lake mwangaza wa siku huleta nuru,
وَ اَظْلَمَ بِهِ ظُلْمَةُ اللَّيْلِ
Wa aẓlama bihi ẓulmatu al-layli
the darkness of nights dims,
na giza la usiku huondoka,
وَ سَالَ بِاسْمِهِ وَابِلُ السَّيْلِ
Wa sāla biāsmihi wābilu as-sayli
the heavy rain of floods flows,
na kwa Jina Lake mvua kubwa ya mafuriko hutiririka,
وَ رَزَقَ اَوْلِيَائَهُ كُلِّ خَيْرِ
Wa razaqa awliyāʾahu kulli khayri
and has provided His intimate servants with all prosperity!
