مروي عن الأئمة المعصومين عليهم السلام في كتب الأدعية المعتبرة.
DUA FOR THE DECEASED
When the grave is leveled, any one may put his hand on it,
open the fingers, press them on the grave, and pray for the
dead person, saying:
DUA KWA MAREHEMU
Wakati kaburi linaposawazishwa, yeyote anaweza kuweka mkono wake juu yake,
kufungua vidole, kuvibonyeza kaburini, na kumuombea
marehemu, akisema:
اَللَّهُمَّ أَنِسْ وَخشَتَهُ
Allāhumma ʾanis wakhshatahu
O Allah, (please) entertain his lonesomeness,
Ewe Mwenyezi Mungu, (tafadhali) mlaze raha katika upweke wake,
due to which he will dispense with the mercy of any one other than You,
ambayo kwayo atajitosheleza na rehema ya yeyote isipokuwa Wewe,
وَ اخشُرْهُ مَعَ مَنْ كَانَ يَتَوَلَاهُ.
Wa akhshurhu maʿa man kāna yatawalāhu.
and resurrect him with those to whom he has been loyal.
Na mfufue pamoja na wale aliowapenda.
Instructions
When people leave, the nearest relative of the dead person
should remain there, praying Almighty Allah's mercy on the
dead person. If nothing prevents from so, this person should
call at the dead loudly and say these words:
Wakati watu wanapoondoka, ndugu wa karibu wa marehemu anapaswa kubaki hapo,
akimuombea Mwenyezi Mungu Rehema zake kwa marehemu.
Ikiwa hakuna kinachomzuia, mtu huyu anapaswa kumwita marehemu kwa sauti kubwa na kusema maneno haya:
يَا..بْنِ.
Yā..bni.
O |[so-and-so] the son of {so-and-so]
Ewe [jina la marehemu] mwana wa [jina la baba]
اَلله رَبُّكَ
Allāh rabbuka
Allah is your lord,
Mwenyezi Mungu ni Mola wako,
وَ مُحَمَّدٌ نَبِيُّكَ
Wa muḥammadun nabiyyuka
Muhammad is your prophet,
Na Muhammad ni Mtume wako,
وَ الْقُرْانُ كِتَابُكَ
Wa al-qurānu kitābuka
the Qur'an is your book,
Na Qur'an ni Kitabu chako,
وَ الْكَعْبَةُ قِبْلَتُكَ
Wa al-kaʿbatu qiblatuka
the Ka'bah is your direction,
Na Ka'bah ni Qibla chako,
وَ عَلِىًّ اِمَامُكَ
Wa ʿaliā imāmuka
'Ali is your Imam,
Na 'Ali ni Imamu wako,
وَ الْحَسَنُ وَ الْحُسَيْنُ
Wa al-ḥasanu wa al-ḥusaynu
and al-Hasan, al-Husayn,
Na al-Hasan, al-Husayn,
وَ عَلِىَّ بْنَ الْحُسَيْنَ
Wa ʿaliā bna al-ḥusayna
'Ali the son of al-Husayn,
'Ali mwana wa al-Husayn,
وَ مُحَمَّدَ بْنَ عَلِيٍّ
Wa muḥammada bna ʿaliyyin
Muhammad the son of 'Ali,
Muhammad mwana wa 'Ali,
وَ جَعْفَرَ بْنَ مُحَمَّدٍ
Wa jaʿfara bna muḥammadin
Ja'far the son of Muhammad,
Ja'far mwana wa Muhammad,
وَ مُؤْسَىٰ بْنَ جَعْفَرٍ
Wa muʾsā bna jaʿfarin
Musa the son of Ja'far,
Musa mwana wa Ja'far,
وَ عَلِيَّ بْنَ مُؤْسىٰ
Wa ʿaliyya bna muʾsā
'Ali the son of Musa,
'Ali mwana wa Musa,
وَ مُحَمَّدَ بْنَ عَلِيٍّ
Wa muḥammada bna ʿaliyyin
Muhammad the son of 'Ali,
Muhammad mwana wa 'Ali,
وَ عَلِىَّ بْنَ مُحَمَّدٍ
Wa ʿaliā bna muḥammadin
'Ali the son of Muhammad,
'Ali mwana wa Muhammad,
وَالْحَسَنَ بْنَ عَلِىٌّ
Wālḥasana bna ʿaliā
al-Hasan the son of 'Ali,
al-Hasan mwana wa 'Ali,
وَالقَائِمَ الْحُجَةَ الْمَهْدِىَّ
Wālqāʾima al-ḥujata al-mahdiā
and the Rising Argument-person,
Na Al-Qa'im Al-Hujjah Al-Mahdi,
عَلَيْهِم السَّلَامُ
ʿalayhim as-salāmu
peace be upon them all
amani iwe juu yao wote
اَئْمَثُكَ اَئِمَّةُ الْهُدَى الْاَبْرَارُ.
Aʾmathuka aʾimmatu al-hudā al-ābrāru.
are your Imams. They are the pious leaders to true guidance.
ndio Maimamu wako. Wao ni viongozi wema wa uongofu wa kweli.
