مروي عن الأئمة المعصومين عليهم السلام في كتب الأدعية المعتبرة.
Al-Kaf'ami, in his book entitled al-Misbah, has mentioned that whoever is diseased, may rub over the place of his prostration (in prayers) with his hand and then rub the ailed organ after each obligatory prayer seven times. He may then say the following supplicatory prayer:
Al-Kaf'ami, katika kitabu chake kinachoitwa al-Misbah, ametaja kwamba yeyote aliye na ugonjwa, anaweza kupasugua mahali pa kusujudia (katika swala) kwa mkono wake na kisha kusugua kiungo kinachouma baada ya kila swala ya lazima mara saba. Kisha anaweza kusoma dua ifuatayo:
يَا مَنْ كَبَسَ الْأَرْضَ عَلَى الْمَاءِ
Yā man kabasa al-ʾarḍa ʿalā al-māʾi
O He Who has pressed the earth on water,
Ee Ambaye Amekandamiza ardhi juu ya maji,
وَ سَدَّ الهَوَاءَ بِالسَّمَاءِ
Wa sadda al-hawāʾa biālssamāʾi
blocked the air with the sky,
na akazuia hewa kwa mbingu,
وَاخْتَارَ لِنَفْسِهِ أَحْسَنَ الْأَسْمَاءِ
Wākhtāra linafsihi ʾaḥsana al-ʾasmāʾi
and chose for Himself the most excellent of all names,
na akajichagulia Mwenyewe majina bora kabisa,
صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ
Ṣalli ʿalā muḥammadin wa āli muḥammadin
(please) send blessings upon Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad,
(tafadhali) mshushie rehema Muhammad na Familia ya Muhammad,
وَافْعَلْ بِي كَذَا وَ كَذَا
Wāfʿal bī kadhā wa kadhā
do to me... [mention your requests]
nifanyie mimi... [taja haja zako]
وَ ارْزُقْنِيْ وَ عَافِنِيْ مِنْ كَذَا وَ كَذَا.
Wa arzuqnī wa ʿāfinī min kadhā wa kadhā.
grant me sustenance, and cure me of... [mention your ailment]
