Through a valid chain of authority, it has been narrated that Shaykh Abu-'Amr, the first Emissary (safir) of Imam al-Mahdi ('a) dictated the following supplicatory prayer to Abu-Muhammad ibn Hammam and ordered him to say it [frequently]. This supplication has been also recorded by Sayyid Ibn Tawus in his book of Jamal al-Usbu' following a number of other supplications to be said after the 'Asr Prayers on Fridays and after the major prayer. He added the following: If you, due to a justifiable excuse, cannot do any of the aforementioned rites, beware lest you ignore saying this supplication, because I personally have recognized the great merit of it through a grace of Almighty Allah that He has bestowed upon me exclusively; therefore, you may rely upon this supplication, which is as follows:
Kupitia mfuatano halali wa mamlaka, imepokewa kwamba Shaykh Abu-'Amr, Mjumbe (safir) wa kwanza wa Imamu al-Mahdi ('a) alimfundisha sala ifuatayo ya maombi kwa Abu-Muhammad ibn Hammam na kumuamuru aisome [mara kwa mara]. Maombi haya pia yameandikwa na Sayyid Ibn Tawus katika kitabu chake cha Jamal al-Usbu' kufuatia maombi mengine kadhaa yanayosemwa baada ya Swala ya Alasiri siku za Ijumaa na baada ya swala kuu. Aliongeza yafuatayo: Ikiwa, kutokana na udhuru halali, huwezi kutekeleza mojawapo ya ibada zilizotajwa, jihadharini usipuuze kusema maombi haya, kwa sababu mimi binafsi nimejua fadhila zake kubwa kupitia neema ya Mwenyezi Mungu aliyonipa peke yangu; kwa hiyo, unaweza kutegemea maombi haya, ambayo ni kama ifuatavyo:
Allāhumma fakamā hadaytanī liwlāyatin man faraḍta ʿalaya ṭāʿatahu min wilāyati wulāti āmrika baʿda rasūlika ṣalawātuka ʿalayhi waʾlihi,
O Allah, just as You have guided me to the loyalty of those the obedience to whom You have made incumbent upon me, that is the loyalty to Your representatives after Your Messenger, Your peace be upon him and his Household,
Ewe Mwenyezi Mungu, kama ulivyoniongoza kwenye utiifu wa wale ambao umefaradhisha utiifu wao kwangu, yaani utiifu kwa wawakilishi wako baada ya Mtume wako, rehma zako ziwe juu yake na Aali zake,
and thus I am loyal to Your representatives; [namely,] the Commander of the Faithful, al-Hasan, al-Husayn, 'Ali, Muhammad, Ja'far, Musa, 'Ali, Muhammad, 'Ali, al-Hasan, and the Argument-the Assumer and well-guided, Your peace be upon them all,
na hivyo niko tayari kuwatii wawakilishi wako; [yaani,] Amiri wa Waumini, Ali bin Abi Talib, na Hasan, na Hussein, na Ali, na Muhammad, na Ja'far, na Musa, na Ali, na Muhammad, na Ali, na Hasan, na Hoja Msimamizi na aliyenongozwa vizuri, rehma zako ziwe juu yao wote,
Wa 'aafinee mimma amtaḥanta bihi khalqaka, wa thabbitnee 'ala ta'ati waliyyi amrikalladhee satartahu 'an khalqika,
release me from that which You have used as tests for Your creatures, and make me steadfast on the obedience to Your representative, whom You have hidden from Your creatures
na unikomboe kutokana na yale uliyoyatumia kama majaribio kwa viumbe vyako, na nithibitishe juu ya utiifu kwa wakilishi wako, uliyemficha kutoka kwa viumbe vyako,
and he has thus disappeared from [the sights of] Your creatures by Your permission, waiting for Your command [to reappear], and You are the most Knower and none can instruct You of the best time for Your representative to reappear,
na kwa idhini yako amejificha kutoka kwa viumbe vyako, na anaingoja amri yako [ya kurejea], na Wewe ndiye Mjuzi kabisa na hakuna anayeweza kukufundisha wakati bora wa wakilishi wako kurejea,
and when exactly You allow him to declare his affair and to disclose his secret. So, grant me patience to endure that so that I will not long for hastening that which You have delayed or delaying that which You would hasten,
na lini hasa utakaporuhusu yeye kutangaza jambo lake na kufichua siri yake. Hivyo, nipe uvumilivu wa kustahimili hayo ili nisiitamani kuharakishwa kwa yale uliyoyaweka nyuma au kucheleweshwa kwa yale uliyoyaharakisha,
I will not disclose that which You have concealed, I will not investigate that which You have covered, I will not dispute with You about Your management, and I will not ask, 'why', 'how' and 'what for the Representative is not
sitafichua ulichokificha, sitachunguza ulichokisitiri, sitabishana nawe kuhusu usimamizi wako, na sitauliza 'kwanini', 'vipi' na 'ina maana gani Mwakilishi haonekani
of those whose eyes are delighted by seeing him, employ us to serve him, make us die following his creed, and include us with his group.
miongoni mwa wale ambao macho yao hufurahika kwa kumuona, tupa kazi ya kumtumikia, tufishe tukiwa tumefuata itikadi yake, na utujumuishe katika kundi lake.
with Your safeguarding that will never fail to save whomever is safeguarded with it, and safeguard Your Messenger and Your Messenger's Successor through safeguarding him, peace be upon them.
kwa ulinzi wako ambao hautawahi kushindwa kumlinda yeyote unayemlinda kwauwo, na mlinde Mtume wako na Mwandamizi wa Mtume wako kwa kumlinda yeye, amani iwe juu yao.
As-salāmu. Allāhumma wamudda fī ʿumrihi, wazid fī ajalihi, wāʿinhu ʿalā māwalaytahu wāstarʿaytahu, wa zid
peace be upon them. O Allah, extend his lifetime, increase the period of his life, help him undertake that which You have entrusted with him and put under his supervision, and increase
Amani. Ewe Mwenyezi Mungu, zidisha umri wake, ongeza muda wa maisha yake, msaidie kutekeleza yale uliyomkabidhi na kumpa usimamizi, na ongeza
Your honor to him. Verily, he is the guide, the well-guided, the assumer (of the mission entrusted with him), the rightly guided, the immaculate, the pious, the pure, the refined,
the pleased, the satisfied, the serene, the thankful, and the hard-working. O Allah, do not deprive us of our strong faith because of his long-lasting occultation and disconnection between him and us.
aliyefurahishwa, aliyeridhika, mtulivu, mshukuru, na mwenye bidii. Ewe Mwenyezi Mungu, usitupokonye imani yetu thabiti kwa sababu ya ghaiba yake ndefu na kukatika kwa mawasiliano kati yake na sisi.
Do not make us forget to mention him [constantly], to expect him, to believe in him, to enjoy strong faith in his advent, to pray You for him, and to invoke Your blessings on him
Usitufanye tusahau kumtaja [daima], kumtarajia, kumwamini, kufurahia imani thabiti katika kuja kwake, kukuomba kwa ajili yake, na kumtakia baraka zako
so that his long-lasting occultation will never make us despair of his advent and our faith in this will be just like our faith in the advent of Your Messenger, Your peace be upon him and his Household, and [just like our faith in] all that which has been conveyed by him to us through Your Revelation and Divine communication.
ili ghaiba yake ndefu isitufanye tukate tamaa ya kuja kwake na imani yetu katika hili iwe kama imani yetu katika kuja kwa Mtume wako, amani yako iwe juu yake na Aali zake, na [kama imani yetu katika] yote aliyotufikishia kupitia Ufunuo wako na Mawasiliano ya Kiungu.
O Allah, make our hearts believe in him unshakably so that You will lead us, at his hands, to the path of true guidance, the greatest destination, and the moderate way.
Ewe Mwenyezi Mungu, ziimarishe nyoyo zetu juu ya kumuamini yeye bila kuyumba ili utuelekeze, kupitia yeye, kwenye njia ya uongofu wa kweli, mahali pazuri zaidi, na njia ya wastani.
Grant us strength to obey him, make us firm in supporting him, and include us with his party, backers, allies, and those satisfied with his deed.
Tupe nguvu za kumtii, tuthibitishe katika kumuunga mkono, na utujumuishe katika chama chake, waungaji mkono wake, washirika wake, na wale wanaoridhika na matendo yake.
Do not deprive us of so during our lifetimes nor at the hour of our death, but (please) make us die while we carry this faith, without doubt, breach of our covenant to him, suspect, or belying him.
Usitunyang'anye hayo wakati wa maisha yetu wala wakati wa kufa kwetu, bali (tafadhali) tufishe tukiwa tumebeba imani hii, bila shaka, kuvunja ahadi yetu kwake, mashaka, au kumkanusha.
Wadamdimu ʿalā man naṣṣaba lahu wakaddhaba bihi, wāẓhirbihi al-ḥaqqa, waʾāmith bihi al-jawra, wāstathqidh bihi ʿibādaka al-muʾminīna mina adh-dhalla,
doom those who conspire against him and those who contradict him, make manifest the truth through him, obliterate injustice through him, save Your faithful servants from humiliation through him,
waangamize wale wanaopanga dhidi yake na wale wanaompinga, dhihirisha ukweli kupitia yeye, futa dhulma kupitia yeye, waokoe waja wako waaminifu kutoka kwenye udhalilishaji kupitia yeye,
refresh the lands through him, kill the tyrannical chiefs of disbelief through him, crush the heads of deviation through him, debase the tyrants and disbelievers through him,
fufua nchi kupitia yeye, ua watawala madhalimu wa ukafiri kupitia yeye, vunja vichwa vya upotovu kupitia yeye, dhalilisha madhalimu na makafiri kupitia yeye,
eradicate the hypocrites, the breachers, and all the dissidents and the atheists in the east and west of this earth, on lands, in oceans, in plains, and in mountains
wang'oe wanafiki, wavutaji ahadi, na wapinzani wote na wasioamini Mungu mashariki na magharibi ya dunia hii, nchi kavu, baharini, tambarare, na milimani,
so that You will not leave of them a single one on earth and You will keep not even a single trace of them. Clean Your lands from them, heal the breasts of Your servants from them,
ili usiwabakishe hata mmoja wao duniani na usibakishe hata alama moja yao. Safisha nchi zako kutokana nao, ponya vifua vya waja wako kutokana nao,
so that Your religion will be restored, through him and at his hands, fresh, new, and sound without any crookedness and without any heresy so that You will extinguish the fires of the disbelievers through his justice.
ili dini yako irejeshwe, kupitia yeye na kwa mikono yake, ikiwa safi, mpya, na sahihi bila upotovu wowote na bila uzushi wowote ili uweze kuzima moto wa makafiri kupitia uadilifu wake.
Waʿaṣamtahu mina adh-dhunūbi, wabarraʾtahu mina al-ʿuyūbi, wāṭlaʿtahu ʿalā al-ghuyūbi, wānʿamta ʿalayhi, waṭahartahu mina ar-rajs, wanaqqaytahu mina ad-dannasi.
preserved against sins, freed from defects, apprised of the unseen, bestowed with Your grace, purified from filth, and refined from impurity.
uliyemlinda na dhambi, uliyemwepusha na kasoro, uliyemfunulia yaliyofichwa, uliyemneemesha kwa rehema yako, uliyemtakasa na uchafu, na uliyemondoa na najisi.
so that we will not seek through it anyone save You and we will not aim for anything save Your Face. O Allah, we complain to You about missing our Prophet,
ili tusitafute kupitia hilo mwingine isipokuwa Wewe na tusilenge chochote isipokuwa uso wako. Ewe Mwenyezi Mungu, tunakulalamikia kuhusu kukosekana kwa Nabii wetu,
occultation of our Master, unbearable vicissitudes of days against us, befalling of seditious matters, alliance of our enemies [against us], the big numbers of our enemies, and the fewness of us.
ghaiba ya Imamu wetu, mabadiliko magumu ya nyakati dhidi yetu, kutokea kwa mambo ya fitina, muungano wa maadui zetu [dhidi yetu], idadi kubwa ya maadui zetu, na uchache wetu.
O Allah, relieve us from all that by means of a triumph that You may hasten, a victory that You may fortify, and a just leader that You allow to appear.
Ewe Mwenyezi Mungu, tupunguzie hayo yote kwa njia ya ushindi ambao unaweza kuuharakisha, ushindi ambao unaweza kuutia nguvu, na kiongozi mwadilifu ambaye unamruhusu aonekane.
O God of the Truth, respond to us. O Allah, we earnestly beseech You to allow Your Representative to spread Your justice in Your lands and to kill Your enemies in Your lands,
Ewe Mungu wa Kweli, tuitikie. Ewe Mwenyezi Mungu, tunakuomba sana umruhusu Mwakilishi wako kueneza uadilifu wako katika nchi zako na kuwaua maadui zako katika nchi zako,
so that You, O my Lord, will not leave any support [of injustice] but that You demolish it, any remnant but that You terminate it, any power but that You enfeeble it, any probe but that You destroy it,
ili Wewe, Ewe Mola wangu, usibakishe msaada wowote [wa dhulma] isipokuwa uuuangamize, mabaki yoyote isipokuwa uyakomeshe, nguvu yoyote isipokuwa uizime, na nguzo yoyote isipokuwa uivunje,
any sharp sword but that You notch it, any weapon but that You deactivate it, any pennon but that You turn it over, any dominant one but that You kill him, and any army but that You defeat it.
Throw them, O my Lord, with Your stamping stone, strike them with Your cutting sword and Your power that You do not ward off from the offensive people,
Wapige, Ewe Mola wangu, kwa jiwe lako la kuangamiza, wapige kwa upanga wako mkali na nguvu zako ambazo huzizuilii kutoka kwa watu waovu,
and torture Your enemies and the enemies of Your representative and the enemies of Your Messenger, Your blessings be upon him and upon his Household, at the hand of Your representative and the hands of Your faithful servants.
na uwatese maadui zako na maadui wa mwakilishi wako na maadui wa Mtume wako, baraka zako ziwe juu yake na Aali zake, kwa mkono wa mwakilishi wako, na mikono ya waja wako waaminifu.
disgrace them among Your servants, curse them in Your lands, lodge them in the lowest class of Your fire, encompass them with the most intense of Your punishment,
wadhalilishe kati ya waja wako, walani katika nchi zako, waweke chini kabisa ya moto wako, wazungukie kwa adhabu yako kali kabisa,
and re-establish the broken-down provisions and the neglected laws through him so that no item of truth will be undisclosed and no item of justice unthriven.
na urejeshe mipaka iliyovunjwa na sheria zilizopuuzwa kupitia yeye ili hakuna ukweli utakaobaki haujafichuliwa na hakuna uadilifu usiotawala.
And make us, O my Lord, of his supporters, of the strengtheners of his authority, of those carrying out his orders, of those satisfied with his deeds,
Na utufanye sisi, Ewe Mola wangu, miongoni mwa wasaidizi wake, miongoni mwa wale wanaoimarisha mamlaka yake, miongoni mwa wale wanaotekeleza amri zake, miongoni mwa wale wanaoridhika na matendo yake,
Wālmusallamīna liʾaḥkāmihi, wamiman lā ḥājata bihi ʾilā at-taqiyyati min khalqika, wa ʾanta yā rabbi adh-dhī takshifu aḍ-ḍurra,
of those submissive to his Judgements, and of those who do not need to practice dissimulation before Your creatures any more. It is You, O my Lord, Who relieve from harms,
miongoni mwa wale wanaosalimu amri kwa hukumu zake, na miongoni mwa wale ambao hawahitaji tena kufanya taqiyyah (kuficha imani) mbele ya viumbe vyako. Na Wewe, Ewe Mola wangu, ndiye unayeondoa madhara,
Allāhumma lā tajʿalnī min khuṣamāʾi ʾli muḥammadin ʿalayhimu as-salāmu, walā tajʿalnī min āʿdāʾin ʾli muḥammadin ʿalayhimu as-salāmu,
O Allah, do not include me with the rivals of Muhammad's Household, peace be upon them, do not include me with the enemies of Muhammad's Household, peace be upon them,
Ewe Mwenyezi Mungu, usinijumuishe na wapinzani wa Aali za Muhammad, amani iwe juu yao, usinijumuishe na maadui wa Aali za Muhammad, amani iwe juu yao,
Walā tajʿalnī min āhli al-ḥataqi wālghayẓi ʿalā ʾli muḥamadin ʿalayhimu as-salāmu, faʾinayy āʿwidhu bika min dhalika fāʿidhunī,
and do not include me with those who bear spite and malice against Muhammad's Household, peace be upon them. I do seek Your protection against making me so; therefore, protect me against it,
na usinijumuishe na wale wenye chuki na ghadhabu dhidi ya Aali za Muhammad, amani iwe juu yao. Hakika mimi najikinga Kwako dhidi ya kufanywa hivyo; kwa hiyo, nilinde dhidi yake,
وَاَسْتَجِيْرُ بِكَ فَاجِزْنِي.
Wāstajīru bika fājiznī.
and I take refuge in You against so; therefore, save me against it.
na ninatafuta hifadhi Kwako dhidi ya hivyo; kwa hiyo, niokoe dhidi yake.
O Allah, send blessings to Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad, make me of the winners with You through them in this worldly life and in the Hereafter,
Ewe Mwenyezi Mungu, tuma baraka juu ya Muhammad na Aali za Muhammad, nifanye kuwa miongoni mwa walioshinda Kwako kupitia wao katika dunia hii na Akhera,
