Dua Nudba as recorded in authentic Shia supplication manuals and traditions of the Holy Infallibles ('a).

بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ رَبِّ ٱلْعَالَمِينَ

All praise belongs to Allah, the Lord of the worlds.

وَصَلَّىٰ ٱللَّهُ عَلَىٰ سَيِّدِنَا مُحَمَّدٍ نَبِيِّهِ

And may Allah send blessings upon our master Muhammad, His Prophet,

وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ تَسْلِيماً

and upon his family, and grant them peace in abundance.

اَللَّهُمَّ لَكَ ٱلْحَمْدُ

O Allah, to You belongs all praise,

عَلَىٰ مَا جَرَىٰ بِهِ قَضَاؤُكَ

for what Your decree has ordained,

فِي اوْلِيَائِكَ ٱلَّذِينَ ٱسْتَخْلَصْتَهُمْ لِنَفْسِكَ وَدِينِكَ

upon Your chosen friends whom You selected for Yourself and Your religion,

إِِذِ ٱخْتَرْتَ لَهُمْ جَزِيلَ مَا عِنْدَكَ

when You granted them the great reward from what is with You,

مِنَ ٱلنَّعِيمِ ٱلْمُقِيمِ

from the everlasting bliss,

ٱلَّذِي لاََ زَوَالَ لَهُ وَلاَ ٱضْمِحْلاَلَ

which neither vanishes nor diminishes,

بَعْدَ انْ شَرَطْتَ عَلَيْهِمُ ٱلزُّهْدَ

after You had conditioned upon them renunciation,

فِي دَرَجَاتِ هٰذِهِ ٱلدُّنْيَا ٱلدَّنِيَّةِ

regarding the levels of this lowly world,

وَزُخْرُفِهَا وَزِبْرِجِهَا

and its adornments and embellishments,

فَشَرَطُوٱ لَكَ ذٰلِكَ

so they fulfilled that condition for You.

وَعَلِمْتَ مِنْهُمُ ٱلْوَفَاءَ بِهِ

And You knew from them loyalty to it,

فَقَبِلْتَهُمْ وَقَرَّبْتَهُمْ

so You accepted them and brought them near,

وَقَدَّمْتَ لَهُمُ ٱلذِّكْرَ ٱلْعَلِيَّ

and You granted them exalted remembrance,

وَٱلثَّنَاءَ ٱلْجَلِيَّ

and manifest praise,

وَاهْبَطْتَ عَلَيْهِمْ مَلاَئِكَتَكَ

and You sent down upon them Your angels,

وَكَرَّمْتَهُمْ بِوَحْيِكَ

and honored them with Your revelation,

وَرَفَدْتَهُمْ بِعِلْمِكَ

and supported them with Your knowledge,

وَجَعَلْتَهُمُ ٱلذَّرِيعَةَ إِِلَيْكَ

and made them the means of access to You,

وَٱلْوَسِيلَةَ إِلَىٰ رِضْوَانِكَ

and the path to attaining Your pleasure.

فَبَعْضٌ اسْكَنْتَهُ جَنَّتَكَ

So among them was one whom You settled in Your Paradise,

إِلَىٰ انْ اخْرَجْتَهُ مِنْهَا

until You caused him to be brought out from it,

وَبَعْضٌ حَمَلْتَهُ فِي فُلْكِكَ

and another whom You carried in Your Ark,

وَنَجَّيْتَهُ وَمَنْ آمَنَ مَعَهُ

And You saved him and those who believed with him,

مِنَ ٱلْهَلَكَةِ بِرَحْمَتِكَ

from destruction, by Your mercy,

وَبَعْضٌ ٱتَّخَذْتَهُ لِنَفْسِكَ خَلِيلاًَ

and another You chose for Yourself as a close friend,

وَسَالَكَ لِسَانَ صِدْقٍ فِي ٱلآخِرِينَ فَاجَبْتَهُ

and he asked You for a goodly mention among later generations, and You answered him,

وَجَعَلْتَ ذٰلِكَ عَلِيّاً

and You made that lofty,

وَبَعْضٌ كَلَّمْتَهُ مِنْ شَجَرَةٍ تَكْلِيماً

and another You spoke to from the tree directly,

وَجَعَلْتَ لَهُ مِنْ اخِيهِ رِدْءاً وَوَزِيراً

and You made his brother a support and minister for him,

وَبَعْضٌ اوْلَدْتَهُ مِنْ غَيْرِ ابٍ

and another You caused to be born without a father,

وَآتَيْتَهُ ٱلْبَيِّنَاتِ

and You granted him clear signs,

وَايَّدْتَهُ بِرُوحِ ٱلْقُدُسِ

and You supported him with the Holy Spirit,

وَكُلٌّ شَرَعْتَ لَهُ شَرِيعَةً

and for each You prescribed a law,

وَنَهَجْتَ لَهُ مِنْهَاجاً

and set for him a clear path.

وَتَخَيَّرْتَ لَهُ اوْصِيَاءَ

And You chose for him successors,

مُسْتَحْفِظاً بَعْدَ مُسْتَحْفِظٍ

one entrusted after another,

مِنْ مُدَّةٍ إِلَىٰ مُدَّةٍ

from one time to another,

إِِقَامَةً لِدِينِكَ

in order to uphold Your religion,

وَحُجَّةً عَلَىٰ عِبَادِكَ

and as a proof over Your servants,

وَلِئَلاَّ يَزُولَ ٱلْحَقُّ عَنْ مَقَرِّهِ

so that the truth may not depart from its place,

وَيَغْلِبَ ٱلْبَاطِلُ عَلَىٰ اهْلِهِ

nor falsehood prevail over its people,

وَلاَ يَقُولَ احَدٌ

and so that no one may say,

لَوْ لاَ ارْسَلْتَ إِِلَيْنَا رَسُولاًَ مُنْذِراً

‘Why did You not send to us a messenger to warn us,’

وَاقَمْتَ لَنَا عَلَماً هَادِياً

or set up for us a guiding sign,

فَنَتَّبِعَ آيَاتِكَ مِنْ قَبْلِ انْ نَذِلَّ وَنَخْزَىٰ

so that we might follow Your signs before we are humbled and disgraced.’

إِلَىٰ انِ ٱنْتَهَيْتَ بِٱلامْرِ إِلَىٰ حَبِيبِكَ وَنَجِيبِكَ مُحَمَّدٍ

Until You brought the matter to Your beloved, Your chosen one, Muhammad,

صَلَّىٰ ٱللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ

May Allah bless him and his family,

فَكَانَ كَمَا ٱنْتَجَبْتَهُ

and he was as You had chosen him,

سَيِّدَ مَنْ خَلَقْتَهُ

the master of those whom You created,

وَصَفْوَةَ مَنِ ٱصْطَفَيْتَهُ

the purest of those whom You chose,

وَافْضَلَ مَنِ ٱجْتَبَيْتَهُ

the best of those whom You selected,

وَاكْرَمَ مَنِ ٱعْتَمَدْتَهُ

and the most honored of those in whom You placed trust,

قَدَّمْتَهُ عَلَىٰ انْبِيَائِكَ

You advanced him above Your prophets,

وَبَعَثْتَهُ إِِلَىٰ ٱلثَّقَلَيْنِ مِنْ عِبَادِكَ

and You sent him to both the jinn and humankind of Your servants,

وَاوْطَاتَهُ مَشَارِقَكَ وَمَغَارِبَكَ

and You made him tread the east and the west of Your realm,

وَسَخَّرْتَ لَهُ ٱلْبُرَاقَ

and You subjected the Buraq to him,

وَعَرَجْتَ بِهِ إِلَىٰ سَمَائِكَ

and You ascended him to Your heaven,

وَاوْدَعْتَهُ عِلْمَ مَا كَانَ

and You entrusted him with the knowledge of what had been,

وَمَا يَكُونُ إِِلَىٰ ٱنْقِضَاءِ خَلْقِكَ

and what will be until the end of Your creation,

ثُمَّ نَصَرْتَهُ بِٱلرُّعْبِ

then You supported him with awe,

وَحَفَفْتَهُ بِجَبْرَئِيلَ وَمِيكَائِيلَ

and You surrounded him with Gabriel and Michael,

وَٱلْمُسَوِّمِينَ مِنْ مَلاَئِكَتِكَ

and those marked angels from among Your angels,

وَوَعَدْتَهُ انْ تُظْهِرَ دِينَهُ عَلَىٰ ٱلدِّينِ كُلِّهِ

and You promised him that You would make his religion prevail over all religions,

وَلَوْ كَرِهَ ٱلْمُشْرِكُونَ

even though the polytheists detested it,

وَذٰلِكَ بَعْدَ انْ بَوَّاتَهُ مُبَوَّا صِدْقٍ مِنْ اهْلِهِ

and that was after You settled him in a truthful dwelling among his people,

وَجَعَلْتَ لَهُ وَلَهُمْ اوَّلَ بَيْتٍ

and You made for him and for them the first House,

وُضِعَ لِلنَّاسِ لَلَّذي بِبَكَّةَ

which was placed for mankind at Bakkah,

مُبَارَكاً وَهُدىًٰ لِلْعَالَمينَ

a blessed place and guidance for the worlds,

فِيهِ آيَاتٌ بَيِّنَاتٌ مَقَامُ إِِبْرَاهِيمَ

wherein are clear signs, the standing place of Abraham.

وَمَنْ دَخَلَهُ كَانَ آمِناً

and whoever entered it was safe,

وَقُلْتَ «إِِنَّمَا يُرِيدُ ٱللَّهُ لِيُذْهِبَ عَنْكُمُ ٱلرِّجْسَ اهْلَ ٱلْبَيْتِ وَيُطَهِّرَكُمْ تَطْهِيراً.»

and You said: 'Indeed Allah only desires to remove defilement from you, O People of the Household, and to purify you with a thorough purification.'

ثُمَّ جَعَلْتَ اجْرَ مُحَمَّدٍ صَلَوَاتُكَ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ مَوَدَّتَهُمْ فِي كِتَابِكَ

then You made the reward of Muhammad — may Your blessings be upon him and his family — their love in Your Book,

فَقُلْتَ «قُلْ لاََ اسْالُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ اجْراً إِِلاَّ ٱلْمَوَدَّةَ فِي ٱلْقُرْبَىٰ.»

so You said: 'Say, I do not ask you for any reward for it except love for (my) near relatives.'

وَقُلْتَ «مَا سَالْتُكُمْ مِنْ اجْرٍ فَهُوَ لَكُمْ.»

and You said: 'Whatever reward I have asked of you, it is for your own good.'

وَقُلْتَ «مَا اسْالُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ اجْرٍ إِلاَّ مَنْ شَاءَ انْ يَتَّخِذَ إِلَىٰ رَبِّهِ سَبِيلاًَ.»

and You said: 'I do not ask you for any reward except that whoever wills may take a way to his Lord.'

فَكَانُوٱ هُمُ ٱلسَّبِيلَ إِِلَيْكَ وَٱلْمَسْلَكَ إِلَىٰ رِضْوَانِكَ

Thus, they were the path to You and the way to Your pleasure.

فَلَمَّا ٱنْقَضَتْ ايَّامُهُ اقَامَ وَلِيَّهُ عَلِيَّ بْنَ ابِي طَالِبٍ صَلَوَاتُكَ عَلَيْهِمَا وَآلِهِمَا هَادِياً

When his days came to an end, he appointed his successor, Ali son of Abu Talib — may Your blessings be upon them and their family — as a guide.

إِِذْ كَانَ هُوَ ٱلْمُنْذِرَ وَلِكُلِّ قَوْمٍ هَادٍ

For he was the warner, and for every people there is a guide.

فَقَالَ وَٱلْمَلَا امَامَهُ: ”مَنْ كُنْتُ مَوْلاَهُ فَعَلِيٌّ مَوْلاَهُ اَللَّهُمَّ وَالِ مَنْ وَالاَهُ وَعَادِ مَنْ عَادَاهُ”

So he said, while the assembly was before him: 'Whoever I am his master, Ali is his master. O Allah, befriend whoever befriends him, and oppose whoever opposes him.'

وَٱنْصُرْ مَنْ نَصَرَهُ وَٱخْذُلْ مَنْ خَذَلَهُ.“

Support whoever supports him, and forsake whoever forsakes him.

وَقَالَ: ”مَنْ كُنْتُ انَا نَبِيَّهُ فَعَلِيٌّ امِيرُهُ.“

And he said: 'Whoever I am his Prophet, then Ali is his leader.'

وَقَالَ: ”انَا وَعَلِيٌّ مِنْ شَجَرَةٍ وَاحِدَةٍ وَسَائِرُ ٱلنَّاسِ مِنْ شَجَرٍ شَتَّىٰ.“

And he said: 'I and Ali are from one tree, while the rest of the people are from different trees.'

وَاحَلَّهُ مَحَلَّ هَارُونَ مِنْ مُوسَىٰ فَقَالَ لَهُ: ”انْتَ مِنِّي بِمَنْزِلَةِ هَارُونَ مِنْ مُوسَىٰ إِلاَّ انَّهُ لاََ نَبِيَّ بَعْدِي.“

And he placed him in the position of Aaron to Moses, and said to him: 'You are to me as Aaron was to Moses, except that there will be no prophet after me.'

وَزَوَّجَهُ ٱبْنَتَهُ سَيِّدَةَ نِسَاءِ ٱلْعَالَمِينَ

And he married him to his daughter, the Mistress of the Women of the Worlds.

وَاحَلَّ لَهُ مِنْ مَسْجِدِهِ مَا حَلَّ لَهُ وَسَدَّ ٱلابْوَابَ إِِلاَّ بَابَهُ

And he permitted for him in his mosque what was lawful for him, and closed all the doors except his door.

ثُمَّ اوْدَعَهُ عِلْمَهُ وَحِكْمَتَهُ فَقَالَ: ”انَا مَدِينَةُ ٱلْعِلْمِ وَعَلِيٌّ بَابُهَا فَمَنْ ارَادَ ٱلْمَدِينَةَ وَٱلْحِكْمَةَ فَلْيَاتِهَا مِنْ بَابِهَا.“

Then he entrusted him with his knowledge and wisdom and said: 'I am the city of knowledge and Ali is its gate, so whoever wishes to enter the city and wisdom should come through its gate.'

ثُمَّ قَالَ: ”انْتَ اخِي وَوَصِيِّي وَوَارِثِي“

Then he said: 'You are my brother, my successor, and my inheritor.'

لَحْمُكَ مِنْ لَحْمِي وَدَمُكَ مِنْ دَمِي

Your flesh is of my flesh, and your blood is of my blood.

وَسِلْمُكَ سِلْمِي وَحَرْبُكَ حَرْبِي

Your peace is my peace, and your war is my war.

وَٱلإِيـمَانُ مُخَالِطٌ لَحْمَكَ وَدَمَكَ كَمَا خَالَطَ لَحْمِي وَدَمِي

Faith is mixed with your flesh and your blood just as it is mixed with my flesh and my blood.

وَانْتَ غَداً عَلَىٰ الْحَوْضِ خَلِيفَتِي

And tomorrow, at the Pond, you will be my successor.

وَانْتَ تَقْضِي دَيْنِي وَتُنْجِزُ عِدَاتِي

You will settle my debts and fulfill my promises.

وَشِيعَتُكَ عَلَىٰ مَنَابِرَ مِنْ نُورٍ مُبْيَضَّةً وُجُوهُهُمْ حَوْلِي فِي ٱلْجَنَّةِ وَهُمْ جِيرَانِي

And your followers will be upon pulpits of light, their faces shining around me in Paradise, and they will be my neighbors.

وَلَوْلاَ انْتَ يَا عَلِيُّ لَمْ يُعْرَفِ ٱلْمُؤْمِنُونَ بَعْدِي.“

And were it not for you, O Ali, the believers would not have been recognized after me.

وَكَانَ بَعْدَهُ هُدىٰ مِنَ ٱلضَّلاَلِ وَنُوراً مِنَ ٱلْعَمَىٰ وَحَبْلَ ٱللَّهِ ٱلْمَتِينَ

And after him, he was guidance from misguidance, light from blindness, and the strong rope of Allah.

وَصِرَاطَهُ ٱلْمُسْتَقِيمَ

And His straight path.

لاََ يُسْبَقُ بِقَرَابَةٍ فِي رَحِمٍ وَلاَ بِسَابِقَةٍ فِي دِينٍ

He was not surpassed by anyone in kinship nor in precedence in religion.

وَلاَ يُلْحَقُ فِي مَنْقَبَةٍ مِنْ مَنَاقِبِهِ

Nor could anyone reach his virtues from among his merits.

يَحْذُو حَذْوَ ٱلرَّسُولِ صَلَّىٰ ٱللَّهُ عَلَيْهِمَا وَآلِهِمَا

He followed in the footsteps of the Messenger, may Allah bless them and their family.

وَيُقَاتِلُ عَلَىٰ ٱلتَّاوِيلِ

And he fought for the true interpretation (of the Qur’an).

وَلاَ تَاخُذُهُ فِي ٱللَّهِ لَوْمَةُ لاَئِمٍ

He was never swayed by the blame of any blamer in the way of Allah.

قَدْ وَتَرَ فِيهِ صَنَادِيدَ ٱلْعَرَبِ وَقَتَلَ ابْطَالَهُمْ وَنَاوَشَ ذُؤْبَانَهُمْ

He struck down the chiefs of the Arabs, killed their champions, and confronted their predators.

فَاوْدَعَ قُلُوبَهُمْ احْقَاداً بَدْرِيَّةً وَخَيْبَرِيَّةً وَحُنَيْنِيَّةً وَغَيْرَهُنَّ

Thus he left in their hearts rancors from Badr, Khaybar, Hunayn, and other battles.

فَاضَبَّتْ عَلَىٰ عَدَاوَتِهِ وَاكَبَّتْ عَلَىٰ مُنَابَذَتِهِ

So they persisted in their enmity against him and clung to opposing him.

حَتَّىٰ قَتَلَ ٱلنَّاكِثِينَ وَٱلْقَاسِطِينَ وَٱلْمَارِقِينَ

Until he killed the oath-breakers, the unjust, and the renegades.

وَلَمَّا قَضَىٰ نَحْبَهُ

And when he fulfilled his covenant (with Allah).

وَقَتَلَهُ اشْقَىٰ ٱلآخِرِينَ يَتْبَعُ اشْقَىٰ ٱلاوَّلِينَ

He was killed by the most wretched of the later ones, following the most wretched of the former ones.

لَمْ يُمْتَثَلْ امْرُ رَسُولِ ٱللَّهِ صَلَّىٰ ٱللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ فِي ٱلْهَادِينَ بَعْدَ ٱلْهَادِينَ

The command of the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him and his family, regarding the guides after the guides, was not observed.

وَٱلامَّةُ مُصِرَّةٌ عَلَىٰ مَقْتِهِ مُجْتَمِعَةٌ عَلَىٰ قَطِيعَةِ رَحِمِهِ وَإِِقْصَاءِ وُلْدِهِ

The nation persisted in detesting him, united in severing his kinship and in excluding his children.

إِِلاَّ ٱلْقَلِيلَ مِمَّنْ وَفَىٰ لِرِعَايَةِ ٱلْحَقِّ فِيهِمْ

Except for a few who remained loyal in observing the truth concerning them.

فَقُتِلَ مَنْ قُتِلَ وَسُبِيَ مَنْ سُبِيَ وَاقْصِيَ مَنْ اقْصِيَ

So, some were killed, some were taken captive, and some were banished.

وَجَرَىٰ ٱلْقَضَاءُ لَهُمْ بِمَا يُرْجَىٰ لَهُ حُسْنُ ٱلْمَثُوبَةِ

And the divine decree ran its course for them with what is hoped will bring them a good reward.

إِِذْ كَانَتِ ٱلارْضُ لِلَّهِ يُورِثُهَا مَنْ يَشَاءُ مِنْ عِبَادِهِ وَٱلْعَاقِبَةُ لِلْمُتَّقِينَ

For the earth belongs to Allah; He grants it as inheritance to whomever of His servants He wills, and the good end is for the righteous.

وَسُبْحَانَ رَبِّنَا

And glory be to our Lord.

إِِنْ كَانَ وَعْدُ رَبِّنَا لَمَفْعُولاًَ

Indeed, the promise of our Lord is sure to be fulfilled.

وَلَنْ يُخْلِفَ ٱللَّهُ وَعْدَهُ وَهُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلْحَكِيمُ

And Allah will never break His promise, and He is the Almighty, the All-Wise.

فَعَلَىٰ ٱلاطَائِبِ مِنْ اهْلِ بَيْتِ مُحَمَّد وَعَلِيٍّ صَلَّىٰ ٱللَّهُ عَلَيْهِمَا وَآلِهِمَا

So upon the pure ones from the household of Muhammad and Ali, peace be upon them and their family—

فَلْيَبْكِ ٱلْبَاكُونَ وَإِِيَّاهُمْ فَلْيَنْدُبِ ٱلنَّادِبُونَ

Let the weepers weep for them, and let the mourners mourn for them.

وَلِمِثْلِهِمْ فَلْتَذْرِفِ ٱلدُّمُوعُ وَلْيَصْرُخِ ٱلصَّارِخُونَ

For their sake, let tears flow, and let the criers cry out.

وَيَضِجَّ ٱلضَّاجُّونَ وَيَعِجَّ ٱلْعَاجُّوَنَ

Let the mourners raise their voices in grief, and the lamenters wail.

ايْنَ ٱلْحَسَنُ ايْنَ ٱلْحُسَيْنُ

Where is Hasan? Where is Husayn?

ايْنَ ابْنَاءُ ٱلْحُسَيْنِ صَالِحٌ بَعْدَ صَالِحٍ وَصَادِقٌ بَعْدَ صَادِقٍ

Where are the sons of Husayn—one righteous after another, one truthful after another?

ايْنَ ٱلسَّبِيلُ بَعْدَ ٱلسَّبِيلِ ايْنَ ٱلْخِيَرَةُ بَعْدَ ٱلْخِيَرَةِ

Where is the path after the path? Where are the chosen ones after the chosen ones?

ايْنَ ٱلشُّمُوسُ ٱلطَّالِعَةُ

Where are the rising suns?

ايْنَ ٱلاقْمَارُ ٱلْمُنِيرَةُ

Where are the shining moons?

ايْنَ ٱلانْجُمُ ٱلزَّاهِرَةُ

Where are the brilliant stars?

ايْنَ اعْلاَمُ ٱلدِّينِ وَقَوَاعِدُ ٱلْعِلْمِ

Where are the standards of religion and the foundations of knowledge?

ايْنَ بَقِيَّةُ ٱللَّهِ ٱلَّتِي لاََ تَخْلُو مِنَ ٱلْعِتْرَةِ ٱلْهَادِيةِ

Where is the remainder of Allah, who is never absent from the guiding progeny?

اينَ ٱلْمُعَدُّ لِقَطْعِ دَابِرِ ٱلظَّلَمَةِ

Where is the one prepared to cut off the roots of the oppressors?

ايْنَ ٱلْمُنْتَظَرُ لإِِقَامَةِ ٱلامْتِ وَٱلعِوَجِ

Where is the awaited one to establish justice and straighten the crookedness?

ايْنَ ٱلْمُرْتَجىٰ لإِِزَالَةِ ٱلْجَوْرِ وَٱلْعُدْوَانِ

Where is the hoped-for one to remove tyranny and aggression?

ايْنَ ٱلْمُدَّخَرُ لِتَجْدِيدِ ٱلْفَرَائِضِ وَٱلسُّنَنِ

Where is the one reserved for the renewal of obligations and traditions?

ايْنَ ٱلْمُتَخَيَّرُ لإِِعَادَةِ ٱلْمِلَّةِ وَٱلشَّرِيعَةِ

Where is the chosen one to restore the faith and the law?

ايْنَ ٱلْمُؤَمَّلُ لإِِحْيَاءِ ٱلْكِتَابِ وَحُدُودِهِ

Where is the one awaited to revive the Book and its laws?

ايْنَ مُحْيِي مَعَالِمِ ٱلدِّينِ وَاهْلِهِ

Where is the reviver of the landmarks of religion and its people?

ايْنَ قَاصِمُ شَوْكَةِ ٱلْمُعْتَدِينَ

Where is the breaker of the might of the transgressors?

ايْنَ هَادِمُ ابْنِيَةِ ٱلشِّرْكِ وَٱلنِّفَاقِ

Where is the destroyer of the structures of polytheism and hypocrisy?

ايْنَ مُبِيدُ اهْلِ ٱلْفُسُوقِ

Where is the eradicator of the people of sin?

وَٱلْعِصْيَانِ وَٱلطُّغْيَانِ

And the disobedience and the tyranny.

ايْنَ حَاصِدُ فُرُوعِ ٱلْغَيِّ وَٱلشِّقَاقِ

Where is the reaper of the branches of misguidance and division?

ايْنَ طَامِسُ آثَارِ ٱلزَّيْغِ وَٱلاهْوَاءِ

Where is the eraser of the traces of deviation and desires?

ايْنَ قَاطِعُ حَبَائِلِ ٱلْكِذْبِ وَٱلٱِفْتِرَاءِ

Where is the one who severs the snares of lies and slander?

ايْنَ مُبِيدُ ٱلْعُتَاةِ وَٱلْمَرَدَةِ

Where is the destroyer of the arrogant and the rebellious?

ايْنَ مُسْتَاصِلُ اهْلِ ٱلْعِنَادِ وَٱلتَّضْلِيلِ وَٱلإِلْحَادِ

Where is the exterminator of the people of stubbornness, misguidance, and deviation?

ايْنَ مُعِزُّ ٱلاوْلِيَاءِ وَمُذِلُّ ٱلاعْدَاءِ

Where is the supporter of the allies and the humbler of enemies?

ايْنَ جَامِعُ ٱلْكَلِمَةِ عَلَىٰ ٱلتَّقْوَىٰ

Where is the one who unites the word upon piety?

ايْنَ بَابُ ٱللَّهِ ٱلَّذِي مِنْهُ يُؤْتَىٰ

Where is the Gate of Allah, from whom blessings are granted?

ايْنَ وَجْهُ ٱللَّهِ ٱلَّذِي إِِلَيْهِ يَتَوَجَّهُ ٱلاوْلِيَاءُ

Where is the Face of Allah, towards which the allies turn?

ايْنَ ٱلسَّبَبُ ٱلْمُتَّصِلُ بَيْنَ ٱلارْضِ وَٱلسَّمَاءِ

Where is the link that connects the earth and the heavens?

ايْنَ صَاحِبُ يَوْمِ ٱلْفَتْحِ وَنَاشِرُ رَايَةِ ٱلْهُدَىٰ

Where is the owner of the Day of Victory and the spreader of the banner of guidance?

ايْنَ مُؤَلِّفُ شَمْلِ ٱلصَّلاَحِ وَٱلرِّضَا

Where is the reconciler of goodness and contentment?

ايْنَ ٱلطَّالِبُ بِذُحُولِ ٱلانْبِيَاءِ وَابْنَاءِ ٱلانْبِيَاءِ

Where is the one who seeks the remnants of the Prophets and the sons of the Prophets?

ايْنَ ٱلطَّالِبُ بِدَمِ ٱلْمَقْتُولِ بِكَرْبَلاَءَ

Where is the one who seeks the blood of the slain at Karbala?

ايْنَ ٱلْمَنْصُورُ عَلَىٰ مَنِ ٱعْتَدَىٰ عَلَيْهِ وَٱفْتَرَىٰ

Where is the one who is victorious over those who transgressed and slandered?

ايْنَ ٱلْمُضْطَرُّ ٱلَّذِي يُجَابُ إِِذَا دَعَا

Where is the oppressed one whose supplication is answered when he calls?

ايْنَ صَدْرُ ٱلْخَلاَئِقِ ذُوُ ٱلْبِرِّ وَٱلتَّقْوَىٰ

Where is the heart of creation, full of righteousness and piety?

ايْنَ ٱبْنُ ٱلنَّبِيِّ ٱلْمُصْطَفَىٰ وَٱبْنُ عَلِيٍّ ٱلْمُرْتَضَىٰ

Where is the son of the chosen Prophet and the son of Ali the approved?

وَٱبْنُ خَدِيـجَةَ ٱلْغَرَّاءِ وَٱبْنُ فَاطِمَةَ ٱلْكُبْرَىٰ

And the son of Khadijah the noble and the son of Fatimah the greatest?

بِابِي انْتَ وَامِّي وَنَفْسِي لَكَ ٱلْوِقَاء وَٱلْحِمَىٰ

By my father, my mother, and my soul, I offer you protection and defense.

يَا بْنَ ٱلسَّادَةِ ٱلْمُقَرَّبِينَ

O son of the noble, the close ones!

يَا بْنَ ٱلنُّجَبَاءِ ٱلاكْرَمِينَ

O son of the chosen, the honorable!

يَا بْنَ ٱلْهُدَاةِ ٱلْمَهْدِيِّينَ

O son of the guides, the rightly guided!

يَا بْنَ ٱلْخِيَرَةِ ٱلْمُهَذَّبِينَ

O son of the chosen, the well-mannered!

يَا بْنَ ٱلْغَطَارِفَةِ ٱلانْجَبِينَ

O son of the most distinguished and eminent!

يَا بْنَ ٱلاطَائِبِ ٱلْمُطَهَّرِينَ

O son of the pure and purified!

يَا بْنَ ٱلْخَضَارِمَةِ ٱلْمُنْتَجَبِينَ

O son of the selected and chosen!

يَا بْنَ ٱلْقَمَاقِمَةِ ٱلاكْرَمِينَ

O son of the honorable and generous!

يَا بْنَ ٱلْبُدُورِ ٱلْمُنِيرَةِ

O son of the radiant full moons!

يَا بْنَ ٱلسُّرُجِ ٱلْمُضِيئَةِ

O son of the shining lamps!

يَا بْنَ ٱلشُّهُبِ ٱلثَّاقِبَةِ

O son of the piercing stars!

يَا بْنَ ٱلانْجُمِ ٱلزَّاهِرَةِ

O son of the shining stars!

يَا بْنَ ٱلسُّبُلِ ٱلْوَاضِحَةِ

O son of the clear paths!

يَا بْنَ ٱلاعْلاَمِ ٱللاَّئِحَةِ

O son of the manifest signs!

يَا بْنَ ٱلْعُلُومِ ٱلْكَامِلَةِ

O son of the complete sciences!

يَا بْنَ ٱلسُّنَنِ ٱلْمَشْهُورَةِ

O son of the well-known traditions!

يَا بْنَ ٱلْمَعَالِمِ ٱلْمَاثُورَةِ

O son of the transmitted landmarks!

يَا بْنَ ٱلْمُعْجِزَاتِ ٱلْمَوْجُودَةِ

O son of the existing miracles!

يَا بْنَ ٱلدَّلاَئِلِ ٱلْمَشْهُودَةِ

O son of the observed proofs!

يَا بْنَ ٱلصِّرَاطِ ٱلْمُسْتَقِيمِ

O son of the straight path!

يَا بْنَ ٱلنَّبَإِ ٱلْعَظِيمِ

O son of the great news!

يَا بْنَ مَنْ هُوَ فِي امِّ ٱلْكِتَابِ لَدَىٰ ٱللَّهِ عَلِيٌّ حَكِيمٌ

O son of the One who is in the Mother of the Book with Allah, the Wise!

يَا بْنَ ٱلآيَاتِ وَٱلْبَيِّنَاتِ

O son of the signs and clear evidences!

يَا بْنَ ٱلدَّلاَئِلِ ٱلظَّاهِرَاتِ

O son of the manifest proofs!

يَا بْنَ ٱلْبَرَاهِينِ ٱلْوَاضِحَاتِ ٱلْبَاهِرَاتِ

O son of the clear and radiant arguments!

يَا بْنَ ٱلْحُجَجِ ٱلْبَالِغَاتِ

O son of the perfect proofs!

يَا بْنَ ٱلنِّعَمِ ٱلسَّابِغَاتِ

O son of the overflowing blessings!

يَا بْنَ طـٰهٰ وَٱلْمُحْكَمَاتِ

O son of Ta-Ha and the decisive evidences!

يَا بْنَ يـٰس وَٱلذَّارِيَاتِ

O son of Ya-Sin and the scattering winds!

يَا بْنَ ٱلطُّورِ وَٱلْعَادِيَاتِ

O son of the Mount and the charging ones!

يَا بْنَ مَنْ دَنَا فَتَدَلَّىٰ

O son of Him who drew near and descended!

فَكَانَ قَابَ قَوْسَيْنِ اوْ ادْنَىٰ

So He was two bows’ length or nearer!

دُنُوّاً وَٱقْتِرَاباً مِنَ ٱلْعَلِيِّ ٱلاعْلَىٰ

Near and close to the Most High!

لَيْتَ شِعْرِي ايْنَ ٱسْتَقَرَّتْ بِكَ ٱلنَّوَىٰ

I wish I knew where destiny settled you!

بَلْ ايُّ ارْضٍ تُقِلُّكَ اوْ ثَرَىٰ ابِرَضْوَىٰ اوْ غَيْرِهَا امْ ذِي طُوَىٰ

Or which land carries you, Ibrahawi or others, or the one of Tuwa?

عَزِيزٌ عَلَيَّ انْ ارَىٰ ٱلْخَلْقَ وَلاَ تُرَىٰ

It is hard for me to see the creation while you are not seen!

وَلاَ اسْمَعُ لَكَ حَسِيساً وَلاَ نَجْوَىٰ

Nor do I hear any whispering or secret talk from you!

عَزِيزٌ عَلَيَّ انْ تُحِيطَ بِكَ دُونِيَ ٱلْبَلْوَىٰ

It pains me that tribulation surrounds you without me!

وَلاَ يَنَالُكَ مِنِّي ضَجِيجٌ وَلاَ شَكْوَىٰ

And that no noise or complaint from me reaches you!

بِنَفْسِي انْتَ مِنْ مُغَيَّبٍ لَمْ يَخْلُ مِنَّا

By my soul, you are among the absent who have not left us!

بِنَفْسِي انْتَ مِنْ نَازِحٍ مَا نَزَحَ عَنَّا

By my soul, you are among the exiled who have never departed from us!

بِنَفْسِي انْتَ امْنِيَّةُ شَائِقٍ يَتَمَنَّىٰ

By my soul, you are the desire that one longs for!

مِنْ مُؤْمِنٍ وَمُؤْمِنَةٍ ذَكَرَا فَحَنَّا

From a believing man and woman, they yearn for you!

بِنَفْسِي انْتَ مِنْ عَقِيدِ عِزٍّ لاَ يُسَامَىٰ

By my soul, you are of a bond of honor that is unmatched!

بِنَفْسِي انْتَ مِنْ اثِيلِ مَجْدٍ لاَ يُجَارَىٰ

By my soul, you are of lofty glory that none rivals!

بِنَفْسِي انْتَ مِنْ تِلاَدِ نِعَمٍ لاََ تُضَاهَىٰ

By my soul, you are from streams of blessings that are incomparable!

بِنَفْسِي انْتَ مِنْ نَصِيفِ شَرَفٍ لاََ يُسَاوَىٰ

By my soul, you are of a portion of honor that cannot be equaled!

إِلَىٰ مَتَىٰ احَارُ فِيكَ يَا مَوْلاَيَ وَإِِلَىٰ مَتَىٰ

How long shall I be perplexed regarding you, O my Master, and till when?

وَايَّ خِطَابٍ اصِفُ فِيكَ وَايَّ نَجْوَىٰ

And by what words shall I describe you, and by what whisper?

عَزِيزٌ عَلَيَّ انْ اجَابَ دُونَكَ وَانَاغَىٰ

It pains me if anyone responds without you or communicates without you!

عَزِيزٌ عَلَيَّ انْ ابْكِيَكَ وَيَخْذُلَكَ ٱلْوَرَىٰ

It pains me if I weep for you and people fail you!

عَزِيزٌ عَلَيَّ انْ يَجْرِيَ عَلَيْكَ دُونَهُمْ مَا جَرَىٰ

It pains me that what has happened befalls you without them!

هَلْ مِنْ مُعِينٍ فَاطِيلَ مَعَهُ ٱلْعَوِيلَ وَٱلْبُكَاءَ

Is there anyone to assist with crying and wailing?

هَلْ مِنْ جَزُوعٍ فَاسَاعِدَ جَزَعَهُ إِِذَا خَلاَ

Is there anyone anxious to help his distress if left alone?

هَلْ قَذِيَتْ عَيْنٌ فَسَاعَدَتْهَا عَيْنِي عَلَىٰ ٱلْقَذَىٰ

Has any eye suffered pain that my eye might help it in its affliction?

هَلْ إِِلَيْكَ يَا بْنَ احْمَدَ سَبِيلٌ فَتُلْقَىٰ

Is there a way to you, O son of Ahmad, that one may reach?

هَلْ يَتَّصِلُ يَوْمُنَا مِنْكَ بِعِدَةٍ فَنَحْظَىٰ

Will our day connect with you so that we may attain?

مَتَىٰ نَرِدُ مَنَاهِلَكَ ٱلرَّوِيَّةَ فَنَرْوَىٰ

When shall we reach your flowing fountains and quench our thirst?

مَتَىٰ نَنْتَقِعُ مِنْ عَذْبِ مَائِكَ

When shall we drink from your sweet water?

فَقَدْ طَالَ ٱلصَّدَىٰ

For the wait has been long.

مَتَىٰ نُغَادِيكَ وَنُرَاوِحُكَ فَنُقِرَّ عَيْناً

When shall we visit you and stay near you, finding comfort?

مَتَىٰ تَرَانَا وَنَرَاكَ وَقَدْ نَشَرْتَ لِوَاءَ ٱلنَّصْرِ تُرَىٰ

When shall you see us and we see you, while you have raised the banner of victory?

اتَرَانَا نَحُفُّ بِكَ وَانْتَ تَؤُمُّ ٱلْمَلَا

Do you see us striving for you while you lead the angels?

وَقَدْ مَلَاتَ ٱلارْضَ عَدْلاًَ

And you have filled the earth with justice.

وَاذَقْتَ اعْدَاءَكَ هَوَاناً وَعِقَاباً

And you made your enemies taste humiliation and punishment.

وَابَرْتَ ٱلْعُتَاةَ وَجَحَدَةَ ٱلْحَقِّ

And you overcame the arrogant and those who denied the truth.

وَقَطَعْتَ دَابِرَ ٱلْمُتَكَبِّرِينَ

And you cut off the might of the arrogant.

وَٱجْتَثَثْتَ اصُولَ ٱلظَّالِمِينَ

And you uprooted the foundations of the wrongdoers.

وَنَحْنُ نَقُولُ ٱلْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ رَبِّ ٱلْعَالَمِينَ

And we say: Praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds.

اَللَّهُمَّ انْتَ كَشَّافُ ْٱلكُرَبِ وَٱلْبَلْوَىٰ

O Allah, You are the remover of distress and calamity.

وَإِِلَيْكَ اسْتَعْدِي فَعِنْدَكَ ٱلْعَدْوَىٰ

And to You I seek refuge, for with You is protection from affliction.

وَانْتَ رَبُّ ٱلآخِرَةِ وَٱلدُّنْيَا

And You are the Lord of the Hereafter and the world.

فَاغِثْ يَا غِيَاثَ ٱلْمُسْتَغِيثِينَ عُبَيْدَكَ ٱلْمُبْتَلَىٰ

So help, O Helper of those who seek aid, Your afflicted servants!

وَارِهِ سَيِّدَهُ يَا شَدِيدَ ٱلْقُوَىٰ

Relieve Your master, O Mighty in Power!

وَازِلْ عَنْهُ بِهِ ٱلاسَىٰ وَٱلْجَوَىٰ

Remove from him grief and sorrow by it.

وَبَرِّدْ غَلِيلَهُ يَا مَنْ عَلَىٰ ٱلْعَرْشِ ٱسْتَوَىٰ

Cool his heart, O You Who are established on the Throne.

وَمَنْ إِِلَيْهِ ٱلرُّجْعَىٰ وَٱلْمُنْتَهَىٰ

And to Whom all return and end.

اَللَّهُمَّ وَنَحْنُ عَبِيدُكَ ٱلتَّائِقُونَ إِلَىٰ وَلِيِّكَ

O Allah, we are Your servants, yearning for Your Wali (Guardian).

ٱلْمُذَكِّرِ بِكَ وَبِنَبِيِّكَ

Who reminds of You and Your Prophet.

خَلَقْتَهُ لَنَا عِصْمَةً وَمَلاَذاً

You have created him for us as protection and refuge.

وَاقَمْتَهُ لَنَا قِوَاماً وَمَعَاذاً

And You made him for us a support and a safeguard.

وَجَعَلْتَهُ لِلْمُؤْمِنِينَ مِنَّا إِِمَاماً

And You made him an Imam for the believers among us.

فَبَلِّغْهُ مِنَّا تَحِيَّةً وَسَلاَماً

So convey to him from us greetings and peace.

وَزِدْنَا بِذٰلِكَ يَا رَبِّ إِِكْرَاماً

And increase us in honor thereby, O Lord.

وَٱجْعَلْ مُسْتَقَرَّهُ لَنَا مُسْتَقَرّاً وَمُقَاماً

And make his place for us a residence and a station.

وَاتْمِمْ نِعْمَتَكَ بِتَقْدِيـمِكَ إِِيَّاهُ امَامَنَا

And complete Your blessing by appointing him as our Imam.

حَتَّىٰ تُورِدَنَا جِنَانَكَ

Until You lead us into Your gardens (Paradise).

وَمُرَافَقَةَ ٱلشُّهَدَاءِ مِنْ خُلَصَائِكَ

And accompany the martyrs from Your chosen ones.

اَللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَىٰ مُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ

O Allah, bless Muhammad and the family of Muhammad.

وَصَلِّ عَلَىٰ مُحَمَّدٍ جَدِّهِ وَرَسُولِكَ

And bless Muhammad, his grandfather, and Your Messenger.

ٱلسَّيِّدِ ٱلاكْبَرِ

The Great Master.

وَعَلَىٰ ابِيهِ ٱلسَّيِّدِ ٱلاصْغَرِ

And upon his father, the Lesser Master.

وَجَدَّتِهِ ٱلصِّدِّيقَةِ ٱلْكُبْرَىٰ

And his grandmother, the Great Truthful One.

فَاطِمَةَ بِنْتِ مُحَمَّدٍ

Fatimah, daughter of Muhammad.

صَلَّىٰ ٱللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ

Peace be upon him and his family.

وَعَلَىٰ مَنِ ٱصْطَفَيْتَ مِنْ آبَائِهِ ٱلْبَرَرَةِ

And upon those You chose from his pious forefathers.

وَعَلَيْهِ افْضَلَ وَاكْمَلَ

And upon him, the most excellent and complete.

وَاتَمَّ وَادْوَمَ

Perfected and everlasting.

وَاكْثَرَ وَاوْفَرَ

Abundant and plentiful.

مَا صَلَّيْتَ عَلَىٰ احَدٍ مِنْ اصْفِيَائِكَ

As You never blessed anyone from Your chosen ones.

وَخِيَرَتِكَ مِنْ خَلْقِكَ

And Your selection from Your creation.

وَصَلِّ عَلَيْهِ صَلاَةً لاََ غَايَةَ لِعَدَدِهَا

Bless him with blessings without limit in number.

وَلاَ نِهَايَةَ لِمَدَدِهَا

And without end in duration.

وَلاَ نَفَادَ لاِمَدِهَا

And never exhausted in extent.

اَللَّهُمَّ وَاقِمْ بِهِ ٱلْحَقَّ

O Allah, establish the truth through him.

وَادْحِضْ بِهِ ٱلْبَاطِلَ

And overthrow falsehood by him.

وَادِلْ بِهِ اوْلِيَاءَكَ

And guide Your allies through him.

وَاذْلِلْ بِهِ اعْدَاءَكَ

And humble Your enemies by him.

وَصِلِ ٱللَّهُمَّ بَيْنَنَا وَبَيْنَهُ

O Allah, connect us with him

وُصْلَةً تُؤَدِّي إِلَىٰ مُرَافَقَةِ سَلَفِهِ

A connection that leads to accompanying his predecessors.

وَٱجْعَلْنَا مِمَّنْ يَاخُذُ بِحُجْزَتِهِمْ

And make us among those who follow their protective guidance.

وَيَمْكُثُ فِي ظِلِّهِمْ

And remain in their shade.

وَاعِنَّا عَلَىٰ تَادِيَةِ حُقُوقِهِ إِلَيْهِ

And help us to fulfill his rights towards him.

وَٱلِٱجْتِهَادِ فِي طَاعَتِهِ

And to strive in obedience to him.

وَٱجْتِنَابِ مَعْصِيَتِهِ

And to avoid disobedience to him.

وَٱمْنُنْ عَلَيْنَا بِرِضَاهُ

And grant us his pleasure.

وَهَبْ لَنَا رَافَتَهُ وَرَحْمَتَهُ

And bestow upon us his compassion and mercy.

وَدُعَاءَهُ وَخَيْرَهُ

And his supplication and goodness.

مَا نَنَالُ بِهِ سَعَةً مِنْ رَحْمَتِكَ

Through which we attain breadth from Your mercy.

وَفَوْزاً عِنْدَكَ

And success with You.

وَٱجْعَلْ صَلاَتَنَا بِهِ مَقبُولَةً

And make our prayers through him accepted.

وَذُنُوبَنَا بِهِ مَغْفُورَةً

And our sins forgiven through him.

وَدُعَاءَنَا بِهِ مُسْتَجَاباً

And our supplications answered through him.

وَٱجْعَلْ ارْزَاقَنَا بِهِ مَبْسُوطَةً

And make our provisions ample through him.

وَهُمُومَنَا بِهِ مَكْفِيَّةً

And our worries relieved through him.

وَحَوَائِجَنَا بِهِ مَقْضِيَّةً

And our needs fulfilled through him.

وَاقْبِلْ إِلَيْنَا بِوَجْهِكَ ٱلْكَرِيـمِ

And receive us with Your noble face.

وَٱقْبَلْ تَقَرُّبَنَا إِلَيْكَ

And accept our drawing near to You.

وَٱنْظُرْ إِلَيْنَا نَظْرَةً رَحِيمَةً

And look upon us with a merciful gaze.

نَسْتَكْمِلُ بِهَا ٱلْكَرَامَةَ عِنْدَكَ

Through it we complete dignity with You.

ثُمَّ لاََ تَصْرِفْهَا عَنَّا بِجُودِكَ

Then do not turn it away from us by Your generosity.

وَٱسْقِنَا مِنْ حَوْضِ جَدِّهِ صَلَّىٰ ٱللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ

And let us drink from the pond of his grandfather, peace be upon him and his family.

بِكَاسِهِ وَبِيَدِهِ رَيّاً رَوِيّاً هَنِيئاً سَائِغاً لاََ ظَمَا بَعْدَهُ

With his cup and his hand, flowing, satisfying, delightful, with no thirst thereafter.

يَا ارْحَمَ ٱلرَّاحِمينَ

O Most Merciful of the merciful!
