three nights, will have all his sins forgiven by Almighty Allah, including the past and the coming: the night before 'ld al-Fitr Day, the night before 'Id al-Azha Day, and the mid-Sha'ban night.'

According to another validly reported tradition, Imam Musa ibn Ja'far (al-Kazim) has said, "Whoever visits al-Husayn at these three nights, will have all his sins forgiven by Almighty Allah, both the past and the coming: the mid-Sha'ban night,

the twenty-third night of Ramazan, and the 'ld al-Fitr night." Imam al-Sadiq ('a) is reported to have said, "If one visits al- Husayn ibn 'Ali at the mid-Sha'ban night, the 'Id al-Fitr night, and the 'Arafat night in the same year, Almighty Allah will

record for him the reward of one thousand times of admissible hajj and one thousand times of acceptable 'umrah and will grant him one thousand requests for this world and the Hereafter."

Imam al-Baqir ('a) is reported to have said, "Whoever spends the 'Arafat Night in the land of Karbala' and resides to spend the 'Arafat Day there and then leaves, Almighty Allah shall save him from the evils of that year."

It is worth mentioning that scholars have dedicated two forms of ziyarah to these two blessed feast days (i.e. 'Id al- Fitr and 'Id al-Azha). The first form has been previously cited as the ziyarah form at the Qadr Nights, while the other is the

following. What is apparently understood from the words of the scholars is that the first form of ziyarah is said when one visits the holy shrine on the two days of 'Id al-Fitr and 'Id al- Azha, while the following form is said when the holy shrine is

visited at the two nights before these two days. Thus, the ziyarah form is as follows:

When you intend to visit Imam al-Husayn's tomb at these two nights, you may stop at the gate of the holy dome, cast your sight on the tomb, and seek permission of admission by saying,

يَا مَؤْلَايَ !

Oh my lord!

يَآ أَبَا عَبْدِ اللّهِ

O Abu Abdullah

يَا ابْنَ رَسُوْلِ اللهِ

O son of the Messenger of God

عَبْدُكَ وَ ابْنُ عَبْدِكَ وَ ابْنُ اَمَتِكَ

Your servant, the son of your servant, and the son of your female servant.

الذَّلِيْلَ بَيْنَ يَدَيْكَ

The spaniel in your hands

وَ الْمُصَغَّرُ فِيْ عُلُوْ قَدْرِكَ

And the smallest is as high as your destiny

وَ الْمُعْتَرِفُ بِحَقَّكَ

And the one who recognizes your rights

جَاءَكَ مُسْتَجِيْرًا بِكَ

He came to you seeking your help

قَاصِدًا إِلَى حَرَمِكَ

Going to your sanctuary

مُتَوَجِّهَا اِلَى مَقَامِكَ

Heading to your place

مُتَوَسَّلًا إِلَى اللهِ تَعَالَى بِكَ

Beseeching God Almighty on your behalf

اَاَدْخُلُ يَا مَوْلَايَ

Come in, my lord

اَأَذخُلُ يَا وَلِيَّ اللهِ

Come in, O friend of God

اَاَدْخُلُ يَا مَلَائِكَةَ اللهِ

Enter, ye angels of God

الْمُخْدِقِيْنَ بِهَذَا الْحَرَمِ

Those who adhere to this sanctuary

الْمُقِيمِيْنَ فِي هَذَا الْمَشْهَدِ.

Residents of this scene.

Instructions

If your heart feels reverence and your eyes shed tears, then

you may enter by preceding your right foot to your left one.

Instructions

You may then say the following words:

بِسْمِ اللهِ وَ بِاللهِ

In the Name of Allah (l begin) and in Allah (l put my trust).

وَ فِيْ سَبِيْلِ اللهِ

And for the sake of God

وَ عَلَى مِلَّةٍ رَسُوْلِ اللهِ

And according to the religion of the Messenger of God

اَللهُمَّ اَنْزِلْنِي مُنَزَلًا مُبَارَكًا

Oh God, send me down a blessed place

وَ أَنْتَ خَيْرُ الْمُنْزِلِيْنَ.

And you are the best of those who send down.

Instructions

You may then say the following words:

اَللهُ اَكْبَرُ كَبِيْرًا

God is great, great

وَ الْحَمْدُ للهِ كَثِيْرًا

And thank God very much

وَ سُبْحَانَ اللهِ بُكْرَةً وَ أَصِيْلًا

All glory be to Allah in morning and evening.

وَ الْحَمْدُ للهِ الْفَرْدِ الضَّمَدِ

Praise be to God, the one who is bandaged

الْمَاجِدِ الاحَدِ

Majid Sunday

الْمُتَفَضِّلِ الْمَنَّانِ

The kind and generous one

الْمُتَطَوّلِ الْحَنَّانِ

Extremely tender

الَذِيْ مِنْ تَطَوْلِهِ

Which is why it is so long

سَهَلَ لِيْ زِيَارَةَ مَؤْلَايَ بِإِحْسَانِهِ

He made it easy for me to visit my loved ones with his kindness.

وَ لَمْ يَجْعَلْنِيْ عَنْ زِيَارَتِهِ مَمْنُوْعًا

And he did not forbid me from visiting him.

وَ لَا عَنْ ذِمَّتِهِ مَدْفُوعًا

Nor is it paid on his behalf

بَلْ تَطَوَّلَ وَ مَنَحَ .

Rather, it was prolonged and granted.

Instructions

You may then enter the shrine. When you reach its center,

you may stop near the tomb with reverence, weeping, and

Instructions

submission, and say the following words:

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا وَارِثَ اَدَمَ صِفْوَةِ اللهِ

Peace be upon you, O heir of Adam, God’s elite.

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا وَارِثَ نُوْحٍ اَمِيْنِ اللهِ

Peace be upon you, O heir of Noah, Amen of God.

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا وَارِثَ اِبْرَاهِيْمَ خَلِيْلِ اللهِ

Peace be upon you, O heir of Abraham, friend of God.

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا وَارِثَ مُؤْسى كَلِيْمِ اللهِ

Peace be upon you, O heir of Moses, Word of God.

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا وَارِثَ عِيْس رُوْحِ اللهِ

Peace be upon you, heir of the Spirit of God.

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا وَارِثَ مُحَمَّدٍ

Peace be upon you, O heir of Muhammad

صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَ الِهِ حَبِيْبِ اللهِ

May God’s prayers and peace be upon him and his family, beloved of God

ٱَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا وَارِثَ عَلِيَّ حُجَّةِ اللهِ

Peace be upon you, O heir, God’s proof upon me.

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ آَيُّهَا الْوَصِيُّ الْبَرُّ التَّقِيُّ

Peace be upon you, O righteous and pious guardian.

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا ثَارَ اللهِ وَ ابْنَ ثَارِهِ وَ الْوِثْرَ الْمَؤْتُوْرَ

Peace be upon you, O Thaar Allah, the son of Thaar Allah, and the descendant of Al-Wathar.

اَشْهَدُ اَنَّكَ قَدْ اَقَمْتَ الصَّلَاةَ

I bear witness that you have performed the prayer

وَ أتَيْتَ الزَّكَاةَ

And you paid zakat

وَ اَمَرْتَ بِالْمَعْرُوْفِ

and you enjoined what is good,

وَ نَهَيْتَ عَنِ المُنْكَرِ

And you forbade evil

وَ جَاهَدْتَ فِي اللهِ حَقَّ جِهَادِهِ

And I struggled in God as He deserved

حَتَّى اسْتُبِيْحَ حَرَمُكَ وَ قُتِلْتَ مَظْلُوْمَا.

Until your sanctuary was violated and you were killed unjustly.

Instructions

You may then stop at the side of the lmam's head with

submissive heart and teary eyes and say the following words:

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَآ أَبَا عَبْدِ اللهِ

Peace be upon you, O Abu Abdullah.

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا ابْنَ رَسُوْلِ اللهِ

Peace be upon you, son of the Messenger of God.

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا ابْنَ سَيِّدِ الْوَصِيِّيْنَ

Peace be upon you, O son of the chief of the Prophets' successors.

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا ابْنَ فَاطِمَةَ الزَّهْرَاءِ

Peace be upon you, son of Fatima Al-Zahra.

سَيِّدَةٍ نِسَاءِ الْعَالَمِيْنَ

Mistress of the women of the worlds

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا بَطَلَ الْمُسْلِمِيْنَ

Peace be upon you, hero of Muslims.

يَا مَوْلَايَ

Oh my lord

آَشْهَدُ آَنَّكَ كُنْتَ نُوْرًا فِي الْاَصْلَابِ الشَّامِخَةِ

I bear witness that you were a light in the lofty loins

وَ الْاَزْحَامِ الْمُطَهَرَةِ

And the cleansing crowds

لَمْ تُنَجَّسْكَ الْجَاهِلِيَّةُ بِانْجَاِهَا

The pre-Islamic period did not defile you with its salvation.

وَ لَمْ تُلْبِسْكَ مِنْ مُذْلَهِمَاتٍ ثِيَابِهَا

And she did not clothe you with any of her modest garments.

وَ اَشْهَدُ أَنَّكَ مِنْ دَعَائِمِ الدِّيْنِ

And I bear witness that you are one of the pillars of the religion.

وَ اَزكَانِ الْمُسْلِمِيْنَ

And the purity of the Muslims

وَ مَعْقِلِ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ

And the stronghold of the believers

وَ اَشْهَدُ اَنَّكَ الْإِمَامُ البَرُّ التَّقِيّ الرَّضِيُّ

And I bear witness that you are the righteous, pious, and contented Imam.

الزَّكِيُّ الْهَادِي الْمَهْدِيُّ

Al-Zaki Al-Hadi Al-Mahdi

وَ اَشْهَدُ آَنَّ الْآَئِمَّةَ مِنْ وُلْدِكَ

And he broke your covenant after the covenant.

كَلِمَةُ التَّقْوْى وَ اَعْلَامُ الْهُذْى

The word of piety and signs of guidance

وَ الْعُرْوَةُ الْوُثْقَى

And the most trustworthy handhold

وَ الْحُجَةُ عَلَى اَهْلِ الدُّنْيَا.

And the argument is for the people of the world.

Instructions

You may then throw yourself on the tomb and say the

following words:

اِنَّا للهِ وَ إِنَّآ اِلَيْهِ رَاجِعُوْنَ

We belong to Allah and to Him we shall return

يَا مَوْلَايَ أَنَا مُوَالٍ لِوَلِيَّكُمْ

O my lord, I am loyal to your guardian

وَ مُعَادٍ لِعَدُوِّكُمْ

And hostile to your enemy

وَ أَنَا بِكُمْ مُؤْمِنٌ وَ بِايَابِكُمْ

I am a believer in you and I will be with you.

مُؤْقِنٌ بِشَرَائِعِ دِيْنِيْ

I am convinced by the laws of my religion

وَ خَوَاتِيْمِ عَمَلِيْ

So God revealed to you:

وَ قَلْبِيْ لِقَلْبِكُمْ سِلْمٌ

And my heart is peace for your heart

وَ أَمْرِيْ لِاَمْرِكُمْ مُتَّبِعُ

And my command is to follow your command

يَا مَؤْلَايَ أَتَيْتُكَ خَائِفًا فَامِنِّيْ

O my friend, I came to you in fear, so believe in me.

وَ أَتَيْثُكَ مُسْتَجِيْرًا فَاجِزْنِيْ

And I will come to you seeking protection, so reward me.

وَ أَتَيْثُكَ فَقِيْرًا فَاَغْنِنِيْ

I am poor to you, so make me rich

سَيِّدِيْ وَ مَوْلَايَ

My lord and lord

آَنْتَ مَوْلَايَ حُجَةُ اللهِ عَلَى الْخَلْقِ اَجْمَعِيْنَ

You, my master, are God’s proof over all creation.

أَمَنْتُ بِسِرَّكُمْ وَ عَلَانِيَتِكُمْ

I believed in your secrets and your publicity

وَ بِظَاهِرِكُمْ وَ بَاطِنِكُمْ

And outwardly and inwardly

وَ اَوَلِكُمْ وَ اَخِرِكُمْ

And the first of you and the last of you

وَ اَشْهَدُ آَنَّكَ التَّالِي لِكِتَابِ اللهِ وَ آَمِيْنُ اللهِ

And I bear witness that you are following the Book of God, Amen.

الدَّاعِي إِلَى اللهِ بِالْحِكْمَةِ وَ الْمَوْعِظَةِ الْحَسَنَةِ

The one who calls to God with wisdom and beautiful preaching

لَعَنَ اللهُ أُمَةً ظَلَمَثْكَ وَ اُمَةً قَتَلَثكَ

May God curse a nation that wronged you and a nation that killed you

وَلَعَنَ اللّهُ أَمَّةً سَمِعَتْ بِذَلِكَ فَرَضِيَتْ بِهِ.

May God curse a nation that heard that and accepted it.

Instructions

You may then offer a two-unit prayer to the side of the

Imam's head and when you finish, you may say the following

اَللَّهُمّ اِنَّن لَكَ صَلَّيْتُ

Oh God, I prayed to you

وَ لَكَ رَكَعْتُ وَ لَكَ سَجَدْتُ

To you I bowed and to you I prostrated

وَحَدَكَ لَا شَرِيْكَ لَكَ

You are alone, you have no partner

فَاِنَّهُ لَا تَجُوْزُ الصَّلَاةُ

Because prayer is not permissible

وَ الرُّكُوْعُ وَ السُّجُوْدُ اِلَّا لَكَ

And bowing and prostrating except for you

لِإَنَّكَ أَنْتَ اللهُ الَّذِيْ لَا اِلْهَ اِلَّا أَنْتَ

Because you are God, there is no god but You

اَللَّهُمَ صَلَّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ ال مُحَمَّدٍ

O God, bless Muhammad and his family

وَ آَبْلِغْهُمْ عَنَّيَ اَفْضَلَ السَّلَامِ وَ التَّحِيَّةِ

And convey my best regards and greetings to them.

وَ ازدُذْ عَلَيَّ مِنْهُمُ السَّلَامَ

May peace be upon me from them

اَللّهُمَّ وَ هَاتَانِ الرَّكْعَتَانِ هَدِيَّةٌ مِنِّيَ

Oh God, these two rak’ahs are a gift from me.

إِلى سَيَّدِي الْحُسَيْنِ بْنِ عَلِيَّ

To my master Al-Hussein bin Ali

عَلَيْهِمَا السَّلَامُ

Peace be upon them both

اَللّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ عَلَيْهِ

O God, bless Muhammad and his family

وَ تَقَبَلْهُمَا مِنَّي وَ اجْزِني عَلَيْهِمَا

And accept them from me and reward me for them.

اَفْضَلَ آَمَلِي وَ رَجَآئِيٍ فِيْكَ وَ فِيْ وَلِيِّكَ

My best hope and hope are in you and in your Guardian.

يَا وَلِيَّ الْمُؤْمِنِيْنَ.

O Guardian of the Believers.

Instructions

You may then throw yourself on the tomb, kiss it, and say the

following words:

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَى الْحُسَيْنِ بْنِ عَلِيَّ

Peace be upon Al-Hussein bin Ali

اَلْمَظْلُوْمِ الشَّهِيْدِ

The oppressed martyr

قَتِيْلِ الْعَبَرَاتِ

The murderer of the abras

وَ اَسِيْرِ الْكُرُبَاتِ

And the prisoner of distress

اَللّهُمّ إِنَّي اشهَدُ آنَّهُ وَلِيُّكَ وَ ابْنُ وَلِيِّكَ

Oh God, I bear witness that he is your guardian and the son of your guardian

وَ صَفِيِّكَ الثَآئِرِ بِحَقَّكَ

And protect you, the one who rebels against you

اَكْرَمْتَهُ بِكَرَامَتِكَ

You honored him with your dignity

وَ خَتَمْتَ لَهُ بِالشَّهَادَةِ

And you sealed his testimony

وَ جَعَلْتَهُ سَيِّدًا مِنَ السَّادَةِ

And you made him a master among the masters

وَ قَائِدًا مِنَ الْقَادَةِ

And a leader among the leaders

وَ اَكْرَمْتَهُ بِطِيْبِ الْوِلَادَةِ

And you honored him with a good birth.

وَ اَغْطَيْتَهُ مَوَارِيْثَ الْأَنْبِيَاءِ

And you covered it with the inheritances of the prophets.

وَ جَعَلْتَهُ حَجَةً عَلْى خَلْقِكَ مِنَ الْاَوْصٍيَاءِ

And You made him a proof against Your creation from among the guardians.

فَاَعْذَرَ فِي الدُّعَآءِ

So excuse yourself in supplication

وَ مَنَحَ التَّصِيْحَةَ

And he gave the shout out

وَ بَذَلَ مُهْجَتَهُ فِيْكَ

And he spent his effort in you

حَتَّى اسْتَنْقَذَ عِبَادَكَ مِنَ الْجَهَالَةِ وَ حَيْرَةٍ [وَ خَيْبَةِ] الضَّلَالَةِ

Until Your servants are saved from ignorance and confusion [and the disappointment] of misguidance.

وَ قَدْ تَوَازَرَ عَلَيْهِ مَنْ غَرَّتْهُ الدُّنْيَا

And the world has prevailed upon him for whom the world has deceived him.

وَ بَاعَ حَظَّهُ مِنَ الْأَخِرَةِ بِالْاَدْنَى

And he sold his share in the afterlife for less.

وَ تَرَدَّى فِيْ هَوَاهُ

And you were kind to me

وَ اَسْخَطَكَ وَ اَسْخَطَ نَبِيَّكَ

And He made you angry and He made your Prophet angry.

وَآَطَاعَ مِنْ عِبَادِكَ أَوْلِي الشَّقَاقِ وَ النَّفَاقِ

And among Your servants, those of discord and hypocrisy, obeyed.

وَ حَمَلَةِ الْاَوْزَارِ الْمُسْتَوْجِبِيْنَ النَّارَ

And those who bear the burdens are worthy of the fire.

فَجَاهَدَهُمْ فِيْكَ صَابِرًا مُختَسِبًا

So he struggled against them for you, being patient and seeking salvation.

مُقْبِلًا غَيْرَ مُذْبِرٍ

Coming, not leaving

لَا تَأْخُذُهُ فِيْ اللهِ لَوْمَةُ لَائِمِ

Do not take the blame of a blamer for God's sake.

حَتَّى سُفِكَ فِيْ طَاعَتِكَ دَمُهُ

Until his blood was shed in your obedience

وَ اسْتَبِيْحَ حَرِيْمُهُ

And his harem was granted permission

اَللّهُمَّ الْعَنْهُمْ لَعْنا وَيلا

Oh God, curse them, curse us, woe

وَ عَذِّبْهُمْ عَذَابًا آَلِيْمًا.

And torture them with a painful punishment.

You may then turn to 'Ali ibn al-Husayn ('a), who is buried to

the side of Imam al-Husayn's feet, and say the following

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا وَلِيَّ اللهِ

Peace be upon you, O Guardian of God

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا ابْنَ رَسُوْلِ اللهِ

Peace be upon you, son of the Messenger of God.

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا ابْنَ خَاتَمِ النَّبِيِّيْنَ

Peace be upon you, O son of the Seal of the Prophets

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا ابْنَ فَاطِمَةَ

Peace be upon you, son of Fatima

سَيِّدَةٍ نِسَاءِ الْعَالَمِيْنَ

Mistress of the women of the worlds

السَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا ابْنَ اَمِيْرِ الْمُؤْمِنِيْنَ

Peace be upon you, son of the Commander of the Faithful

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ آَيُّهَا الْمَظْلُوْمُ الشَّهِيْدُ

Peace be upon you, O oppressed martyr.

بِاَبِي أَنْتَ وَ أَمَّيْ

My door to you and my mother

عِشْتَ سَعِيْدًا

You lived happily

وَ قُتِلْتَ مَظْلُوْمًا شَهِيْدًا.

And you killed an oppressed martyr.

Instructions

You may then turn to the tombs of the martyrs - may Allah's

Instructions

pleasure be upon them - and say the following words:

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكُمْ آَيُّهَا الذَّآبُونَ عَنْ تَوْحِيْدِ اللهِ

Peace be upon you, O you who are devoid of the monotheism of God.

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكُمْ بِمَا صَبَرْتُمْ

Peace be upon you for your patience

فَنِعِمَ عُقْبَى الدَّارِ

So what a good home

بِآَبِي أَنْثُمْ وَ أَمِّيْ

May my father and mother be rewarded

فُزْتُمْ فَوْزًّا عَظِيْمًا.

You won a great victory.

Instructions

You may then walk to the shrine of al-'Abbas ibn 'Ali, stop at

his holy tomb, and say the following words:

السَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ آَيُّهَا الْعَبْدُ الصَّالِحُ وَ الصَّدِّيْقُ المُوَاسِيْ

Peace be upon you, O righteous servant and consoling friend.

آَشْهَدُ أَنَّكَ أَمَنْتَ بِاللهِ

I bear witness that you have believed in God

وَ نَصَرْتَ ابْنَ رَسُوْلِ اللهِ

And you supported the son of the Messenger of God

وَ دَعَوْتَ إِلَى سَبِيْلِ اللهِ

And you called to the path of God

وَ وَاسَيْتَ بِنَفْسِكَ

And you consoled yourself

فَعَلَيْكَ مِنَ اللهِ اَفْضَلُ التَّحِيَّةِ وَ السَّلَامِ.

May God’s best greetings and peace be upon you.

Instructions

You may now throw yourself on the tomb and say the

following words:

بِآَبِي اَنْتَ وَ اُمِّيْ يَا نَاصِرَ دِيْنِ اللٰهِ

May my father and mother be sacrificed for you, O supporter of God’s religion.

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا نَاصِرَ الْحُسَيْنِ الصِّدِّيْقِ

Peace be upon you, O Nasser Al-Hussein Al-Siddiq

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا نَاصِرَ الْحُسَيْنِ الشَّهِيْدِ

Peace be upon you, O Nasser Al-Hussein, the martyr.

عَلَيْكَ مِنَّي السَّلَامُ

May peace be upon you

مَا بَقِيْتُ وَ بَقِيَ اللَّيْلُ وَ النَّهَارُ.

As long as I stayed, night and day remained.

Instructions

You may then stand up to offer a two-unit prayer to the side

of his head and then repeat the same words that you have

said after offering a prayer at Imam al-Husayn's shrine.

These words, which have been previously cited, begin with

the following statement:

اَللَّهُمّ إِنَّى صَلَّيْتُ...

Oh God, I prayed...

You may then return to the shrine of Imam al-Husayn ('a) to

Instructions

reside there for any period you like. However, it is

Instructions

recommended not to appoint the holy shrine as one's place

Instructions

of residence and spending the night there.

Instructions

If you intend to leave and bid farewell to the Imam ('a), you

Instructions

may stop at the side of the head and say the following words

Instructions

While weeping:

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا مَؤْلَايَ

Peace be upon you, my lord

سَلَامَ مُوَدَّعِ لَا قَالٍ وَ لَا سَئِمِ

A farewell greeting, neither talkative nor weary

فَاِنْ اَنْصَّرِفْ فَلَا عَنْ مَلَالَةٍ

If he leaves, it is not out of boredom

وَ اِنْ أُقِمْ فَلَا عَنْ سُوَءِ ظَنَّ

And if I do, it will not be from bad suspicion

بِمَا وَعَدَ اللَهُ الضَّابِرِيْنَ

With what God promised to those who persevere

يَا مَوْلَايَ لَا جَعَلَهُ اللَهُ أَخِرَ الْعَهْدِ مِنَّيْ لِزِيَارَتِكَ

O my lord, may God make this my last vow to visit you.

وَ رَزَقَنِي العَوْدَ إِلَيْكَ

And He blessed me to return to You

وَ الْمَقَامَ فِيْ حَرَمِكَ

And the abode is in your sanctuary

وَ الكَوْنَ فِيْ مَشْهَدِكَ

And the universe is in your sight

أَمِيْنَ رَبَّ الْعَالَمِيْنَ.

Amen, Lord of the Worlds.

back to the tomb. You may say the following words:

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا بَابَ الْمَقَامِ

Peace be upon you, O Gate of Maqam

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا شَرِيْكَ الْقُرْأْنِ

Peace be upon you, partner of the Qur’an.

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا حُجَةَ الْخِصَامِ

Peace be upon you, O Hujjat of adversity.

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا سَفِيْنَةَ النَّجَاةِ

Peace be upon you, O Ark of salvation

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكُمْ يَا مَلَائِكَةَ رَبَّيَ

Peace be upon you, O angels of my Lord.

الْمُقِيْمِيْنَ فِيْ هَذَا الْحَرَمِ

Those residing in this campus

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ أَبَدًا

Peace be upon you forever

مَا بَقِيْتُ وَ بَقِيَ اللَّيْلُ وَ النَّهَارُ

As long as I stayed and the night and the day remained

You may also say the following words:

إِنَّا للهِ وَ إِنَّآ اِلَيْهِ رَاجِعُوْنَ

We belong to Allah and to Him we shall return

وَلَا حَوْلَ وَ لَا قُوَّةَ اِلَا بِاللهِ الْعَلِيَّ الْعَظِيمِ.

There is no power nor strength except in God, the Most High, the Great.
