THE FIRST NIGHT OF MUHARRAM Sayyid Ibn Tawus, in Iqbal al-A'mal, has mentioned that a number of prayers should be advisably offered at this night:
USIKU WA KWANZA WA MUHARRAM Sayyid Ibn Tawus, katika Iqbal al-A'mal, ametaja kwamba idadi ya sala inapaswa kuswaliwa usiku huu:

First Prayer: A one hundred unit prayer with Surah al- Faatehah and Surah al-Tawheed.
Sala ya Kwanza: Swala ya rakaa mia moja yenye Surah al-Faatehah na Surah al-Tawhiyd.

Second Prayer: A two unit prayer at the first of which Surah al- Faatehah and Surah al-An'am (No. 6) are recited and at the second unit Surah al-Faatehah and Surah Yasin (No. 36).
Sala ya Pili: Swala ya rakaa mbili katika ya kwanza ambayo Surah al-Faatehah na Surah al-An'am (Na. 6) inasomwa na katika rakaa ya pili Surah al-Faatehah na Surah Yasin (No. 36).

Third Prayer: A two unit prayer at each of which Surah al- Faatehah is recited once and Surah al-Tawheed is repeated eleven times is offered.
Swala ya Tatu: Swala ya rakaa mbili ambayo kila moja inasomwa Surah al-Faatehah mara moja na Sura ya Tawhiyd inarudiwa mara kumi na moja.

The Holy Prophet (s.a.w.a.) is reported to have said that whoever offers this prayer at this night and observes fasting the next day, which is the first day in the new year, the new year will be wholly good for him, and he will be saved

Sayyid Ibn Tawus has also mentioned a lengthy supplicatory prayer to be said at the sight of the new moon of Muharram.
Sayyid Ibn Tawus pia ametaja swala ndefu ya dua inayopaswa kuswaliwa wakati wa kuandama kwa mwezi wa Muharram.
