ziyarah by a more important matter. The method of this form of ziyarah, as quoted from the book of al-Mazar al-Qadim, without mentioning the explanatory introduction, is as follows:

If you would like to visit Imam al-Husayn ('a) from remote places or from the vicinity of his holy tomb, you may bathe yourself and come out to a desert or go up the roof on your house. You may then offer a two-unit prayer, reciting (after

Surah al-Fatihah) Surah al-Tawhid in both units. When you accomplish the prayer, you may point to Imam al-Husayn ('a) to greet him. The greetings, pointing, and intention must be made while turning the face towards the side of Imam al-

Husayn's tomb. Then, you may say the following words with reverence and submission:

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا ابْنَ رَسُوْلِ اللهِ

Peace be upon you, son of the Messenger of God.

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا ابْنَ الْبَشِيْرِ النَّذِيْرِ

Peace be upon you, son of the bringer of good news and the warner.

وَ ابْنَ سَيِّدِ الوَصِيِّيْنَ

And the son of the master of the guardians

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا ابْنَ فَاطِمَةَ

Peace be upon you, son of Fatima

سَيِّدَةٍ نِسَاَءِ الْعَالَمِيْنَ

Mistress of the women of the worlds

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا خِيَرَةَ اللهِ وَ ابْنَ خِيَرَتِهِ

Peace be upon you, O God’s best and son of His best.

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا ثَارَ اللهِ وَ ابْنَ ثَارِهِ

Peace be upon you, O Thar Allah and son of his Thar.

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ آَيُّهَا الْوِثْرُ الْمَوْتُوْرُ

Peace be upon you, O mortal father!

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ آَيُّهَا الْإِمَامُ الْهَادِي الذَّكِيُّ

Peace be upon you, O wise, guided Imam.

وَ عَلَى اَزْوَاحٍ حَلَّثْ بِفِنَآئِكَ

And in the end, he spoke of your annihilation

وَ اَقَامَتْ فِيْ حِوَارِكَ

And it stayed in your conversation

وَ وَفَدَتْ مَعَ زُوَّارِكَ

And she came with your visitors

ٱَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ مِنَّن مَا بَقِيْتُ وَ بَقِيَ اللَّيْلُ وَ النَّهَارُ

Peace be upon you for as long as I remain and for the rest of the night and the day.

فَلَقَدْ عَظُمَتْ بِكَ الرَّزِيَّةُ

The calamity has become great for you

وَ جَلَّث فِي الْمُوْمِنِيْنَ وَ الْمُسْلِمِيْنَ

And He resided among the believers and Muslims.

وَ فِي اَهْلِ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَ اَهْلِ الْاَرَضِيْنَ اَجْمَعِيْنَ

And among the inhabitants of the heavens and the inhabitants of the earth as a whole.

فَاِنَّا للهِ وَ إِنَّآ اِلَيْهِ رَاجِعُوْنَ

We belong to Allah and to Him we shall return

صَلَوَاتُ اللهِ وَ بَرَكَاتُهُ وَ تَحِيَّاتُهُ

God's prayers, blessings and greetings

عَلَيْكَ يَآ آَبَا عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحُسَيْنَ

On you, O Abu Abdullah Al-Hussein

وَ عَلَى أبَآئِكَ الطَّيَّبِيْنَ الْمُنْتَجَبِينَ

And upon your good and chosen fathers

وَ عَلَى ذُرِّيَّاتِكُمُ الْهُدَاةِ الْمَهْدِيِّيْنَ

And upon your descendants are the guidance, the Mahdi.

لَعَنَ اللهُ أُمَّةًّ خَذَلَثْكَ

May God curse the nation that has failed you

وَ تَرَكَثْ نُصْرَتَكَ وَ مَعُوْنَتَكَ

And I rely on your support and assistance

وَ لَعَنَ اللهُ أُمَّةً اَسَّسَتْ اَسَاسَ الظُّلْمِ لَكُمْ

And God cursed a nation that established the foundation of injustice against you.

وَ مَهَدَتِ الْجَوْرَ عَلَيْكُمْ

And injustice was imposed upon you

وَ طَرَّقَتْ إِلَى اَذِيَّتِكُمْ وَ تَحَيّفِكُمْ

And it tended to harm you and degrade you.

وَ جَارَثْ [وَ حَادَثْ] ذَلِكَ فِي دِيَارِكُمْ وَ اَشيَاعِكُمْ

And Jareth [and this happened] in your homes and your people.

بَرِثْتُ إِلَى اللهِ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ وَ اِلَيْكُمْ

I prayed to God Almighty and to you

يَا سَادَاتِيْ وَ مَوَالِيَّ وَ اَئْمَّتِيْ

O my masters, my servants, and my imams,

مِنْهُمْ وَ مِنْ اشْيَاعِهِمْ وَ اَثْبَاعِهِمْ

From them and from their followers and followers

وَ اَسْاَلُ اللهَ الَّذِي اَكْرَمَ يَا مَوَالِيَّ مَقَامَكُمْ

And I ask God who has honored you, my loyal ones, in your position.

وَ شَرَّفَ مَنْزِلَتَكُمْ وَ شَأْنَكُمْ

He honored your status and your affairs

آَنْ يُكْرِمَنِيْ بِوِلَايَتِكُمْ وَ مَحَبَّتِكُمْ وَ الْإِنْتِمَامِ بِكُمْ

He shed my tears and stopped them

وَ بِالْبَرَآءَةِ مِنْ اَعْدَآئِكُمْ

And in disavowal of your enemies

وَ آَسْاَلُ اللهَ الْبَرَّ الرَّحِيْمَ اَنْ يَزْزُقَنِيْ مَوَدَّتَكُمْ

I ask God, the Most Merciful, to grant me your affection.

وَ اَنْ يُوَفَقَنِيْ لِلطَلَبِ بِثَارِكُمْ

And to grant me success in seeking your revenge.

مَعَ الْإِمَامِ الْمُنْتَظَرِ الْهَادِيْ مِنْ ألِ مُحَمَّدٍ

With the Awaited Imam, the Guide from the family of Muhammad

وَ آَنْ يَجْعَلَنِي مَعَكُمْ فِي الدُّنْيَا وَ الْأَخِرَةِ،

And to make me with you in this world and the hereafter,

وَ اَنْ يُتَلَّغَنِي الْمَقَامَ الْمَحْمُوْدَ لَكُمْ عِنْدَ اللهِ

And that I attain the praiseworthy status you have with God.

وَ اَسْاَلُ اللهَ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ بِحَقَّكُمْ

And I ask God Almighty for your right

وَ بِالشَّأْنِ الَّذِيْ جَعَلَ اللهُ لَكُمْ

And in the matter that God has appointed for you

آَنْ يُغْطِيَنيْ بِمُصَابِنْ بِكُمْ

To cover me with your afflictions

اَفْضَلَ مَا اَغْطِى مُصَابًا بِمُصِيْبَةٍ

The best thing to cover someone afflicted with a calamity.

اِنَّا للّهِ وَ اِنَّا اِلَيْهِ رَاجِعُوْنَ

We belong to Allah and to Him we shall return

يَا لَهَا مِنْ مُصِيْبَةٍ

What a disaster

مَا اَفْجَعَهَا وَ اَنْكَاهَا لِقُلُوْبِ الْمُؤْمِنِيْنَ وَ الْمُسْلِمِيْنَ

How painful and painful it is for the hearts of believers and Muslims!

فَاِنَّا للهِ وَ إِنَّآ اِلَيْهِ رَاجِعُوْنَ

We belong to Allah and to Him we shall return

اَللّهُمَّ صَلَّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ ال مُحَمَّدٍ

Peace be upon God’s friend and answerer

وَ اجْعَلْنِي فِيْ مَقَامِيْ

And put me in my position

مِمَّنْ تَنَالُهُ مِنْكَ صَلَوَاتٌ وَ رَحْمَةٌ وَ مَغْفِرَةً

From whom may prayers, mercy, and forgiveness be obtained from you?

وَ اجْعَلْنِي عِنْدَكَ وَجِيْهَا

And make me an honorable person before you

فِي الدُّنْيَا وَ الأخِرَةِ وَ مِنَ الْمُقَرَّبِيْنَ

In this world and the hereafter and among those who are close

فَاِنَّي اَتَقَرَّبُ اِلَيْكَ بِمُحَمَدٍ وَ الِ مُحَمَدٍ

I seek nearness to you through Muhammad and the family of Muhammad.

صَلَوَاتُكَ عَلَيْهِ وَ عَلَيْهِمْ اَجْمَعِيْنَ

Your blessings be upon him and all of them.

اَللَّهُمَّ وَ إِنِّي اَتَوَسَّلُ وَ اَتَّوَجَهُ

Oh God, I beg and turn to him

بِصَفَّوَتِكَ مِنْ خَلْقِكَ

With your elite from your creation

وَ خِيَرَتِكَ مِنْ خَلْقِكَ

And your choice is from your creation

مُحَمَّدٍ وَ عَلِيٍّ وَ الطَّيَّبِيْنَ مِنْ ذُرَّيَّتِهِمَا

Muhammad and Ali and the good ones from their descendants

اَللَّهُمَّ فَصَلَّ عَلَى مُحَمَدِ وَ ألِ مُحَمَّدٍ

O God, bless Muhammad and the family of Muhammad

وَ اجْعَل مَحيَايَ مَخيَاهُمْ

And make my appearance their appearance

وَ مَمَاتِيْ مَمَاتَهُمْ

And my death is their death

وَ لا تَفَرَّقْ بَيْنِيْ وَ بَيْنَهُمْ

And do not differentiate between me and them

فِيْ الدُّنْيَا وَ الْأَخِرَةِ

In this world and the hereafter

اِنَّكَ سَمِيْعُ الدُّعَاءِ

And his escape is to you,

اللَّهُمَّ وَ هَذَا يَوْمُ تَجَدَّدُ [تَجَدَّدَ] [تُجَدَّدُ] فِيْهِ النَّقْمَةُ

Oh God, this is a day of renewal [renewal] [renewal] on which vengeance will be

وَ تَنَزَّلُ [تَنَزَّلَ] [تُنَزَّلُ] فِيْهِ اللَّغْنَةُ

And the language is revealed in it.

عَلَى اللَّعِيْنِ يَزِيْدَ وَ عَلَى الِ يَزِيْدَ

Against the cursed one is Yazid, and against him is Yazid.

وَ عَلَى ألٍ زِيَادٍ وَ عُمَرَ بْنَ سَعْدٍ وَ الشَّمْرِ

And upon the family of Ziyad, Omar bin Saad, and Al-Shimr.

اَللّهُمَّ الْعَنْهُمْ وَ الْعَنْ مَنْ رَضِيَ بِقَوْلِهِمْ وَ فِعْلِهِمْ

Oh God, curse them and curse those who approve of their words and actions.

مِنْ اَوَلٍ وَ اَخِرٍ لَعْنًا كَثِيْرًا

From the beginning and the end, he cursed greatly

وَ اَضلِهِمْ حَرَّ نَارِكَ

And mislead them with the heat of your fire

وَ اَسْكِتْهُمْ جَهَنَّمَ وَ سَاءَتْ مَصِيْرًا

And Hell has silenced them, and it is an evil destination.

وَ اَوْجِبْ عَلَيْهِمْ وَ عَلَى كُلِّ مَنْ شَايَعَهُمْ

And it is obligatory for them and for everyone who follows them

وَ بَايَعَهُمْ وَ تَابَعَهُمْ وَ سَاعَدَهُمْ

He pledged allegiance to them, followed them, and helped them.

وَ رَضِيَ بِفِعْلِهِمْ

And he was satisfied with their action

وَ افْتَحْ لَهُمْ وَ عَلَيْهِمْ

And open it to them and to them

وَ عَلَى كُلِّ مَنْ رَضِيَ بِذلِكَ

And everyone who agrees to that

لَعَنَاتِكَ الَّتِيْ لَعَنْتَ بِهَا كُلِّ ظَالِمِ

Your curses with which you curse every oppressor

وَ كُلِّ غَاصِبٍ وَ كُلَّ جَاجِدٍ

And every usurper and every ungrateful one

وَ كُلَّ كَافِرٍ وَ كُلِّ مُشرِكِ

And every infidel and every polytheist

وَ كُلَّ شَيْطَانٍ رَجِيمٍ، وَ كُلَّ جَبَّارٍ عَنِيْدٍ

اَللّهُمَّ الْعَنْ يَزِيْدَ وَ اَلَ يَزِيْدَ

Oh God, curse Yazid and his family

وَ بَنِيْ مَرْوَانَ جَمِيْعًا

And all the children of Marwan

اَللّهُمّ وَ ضَعْفُ غَضَبَكَ وَ سَخَطَكَ

Oh God, and double your anger and wrath.

وَ عَذَابَكَ وَ نَقِمَتَكَ

And your torment and your curse

عَلَى اَوَلِ ظَالِمِ ظَلَمَ اَهْلَ بَيْتِ نَبِيِّكَ

On the first oppressor who oppressed the family of your Prophet

اَللَهُمَّ وَ الْعَنْ جَمِيْعَ الظَّالِمِينَ لَهُمْ

Oh God, curse all those who oppress them.

وَ انْتَقِمْ مِنْهُمْ

And take revenge on them

اِنَّكَ ذُوْ نِقْمَةٍ مِنَ الْمُجْرِمِيْنَ

You are subject to vengeance from the criminals.

اَللّهُمَّ وَ الْعَنْ اَوَّلَ ظَالِمِ ظَلَمَ الَّ بَيْتِ مُحَمَّدٍ

Oh God, curse the first oppressor who wronged the House of Muhammad

وَ الْعَنْ اَرْوَاحَهُمْ وَ دِيَارَهُمْ وَ قُبُوْرَهُمْ

And curse their souls, their homes, and their graves.

وَ الْعَنِ اللَّهُمَّ الْعِصَابَةَ الَّتِيْ نَازَلَتِ الْحُسَيْنَ

May God curse the gang that attacked Hussein.

ابْنَ بِنْتِ نَبِيِّكَ

The son of your Prophet’s daughter

وَ حَارَبَثْهُ وَ قَتَلَتْ اَضحَابَهُ وَ أَنْصَارَهُ

And she fought him and killed his friends and supporters.

وَ اَعْوَانَهُ وَ اَوْلِيَاءَهُ

And his helpers and guardians

وَ شِيْعَتَهُ وَ مُحِبِّيْهِ

And his followers and his lovers

وَ اَهْلَ بَيْتِهِ وَ ذُرِّيَّتَهُ

And his family and his descendants

وَ الْعَنِ اللَّهُمَّ الَّذِيْنَ نَهَبُوْا مَالَهُ

May God curse those who plundered his money.

وَ سَلَبُوْا [وَ سَبَوْا] حَرِيْمَهُ

And they plundered [and captured] his harem

وَ لَمْ يَسْمَعُوْا كَلَامَهُ وَ لَا مَقَالَهُ

And they did not listen to his words or what he said.

اَللّهُمَّ وَ الْعَنْ كُلَّ مَنْ بَلَغَهُ ذلِكَ فَرَضِي بِهِ

Oh God, curse everyone who was informed of that and accepted it.

مِنَ الْاَوَّلِيْنَ وَ الْأَخِرِيْنَ

From the first and the last

وَ الْخَلَائِقِ اَجْمَعِيْنَ إِلَى يَوْمِ الدِّيْنِ.

And all of creation until the Day of Judgment.

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَآ اَبَا عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحُسَيْنَ

Peace be upon you, O Abu Abdullah Al-Hussein.

وَ عَلَى مَنْ سَاعَدَكَ وَ عَاوَنَكَ

And for those who helped you and assisted you

وَ وَاسَاكَ بِنَفْسِهِ وَ بَذَلَ مُهْجَتَهُ فِي الذَّبّ عَنْكَ

He consoled you with himself and made every effort to protect you.

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا مَؤْلَايَ وَ عَلَيْهِمْ

Peace be upon you, my lords, and upon them.

وَ عَلَى رُوْحِكَ وَ عَلَى اَرْوَاجِهِمْ

And on your soul and on their souls

وَ عَلَى تُرْبَتِكَ وَ عَلَى تُرْبَتِهِمْ

And on your soil and on their soil

اَللَهُمَّ لَقَّهِمْ رَحْمَةً وَ رِضوَانًا

Oh God, grant them mercy and satisfaction

وَ رَوْحًا وَ رَيْحَانَا

And spirit and basil

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا مَوْلَايَ يَآ آَبَا عَبْدِ اللهِ

Peace be upon you, my lord, O Abu Abdullah.

يَا ابْنَ خَاتَمِ النَّبِيِّيْنَ

O son of the Seal of the Prophets

وَ يَا ابْنَ سَيِّدِ الوَصِيِّيْنَ

O son of the master of the guardians

وَ يَا ابْنَ سَيِّدَةٍ نِسَآَءِ الْعَالَمِيْنَ

O son of mistress of the women of the worlds,

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا شَهِيْدُ يَا ابْنَ الشَّهِيْدِ

Peace be upon you, O martyr, O son of the martyr.

اَللَهُمَّ بَلَغَهُ عَنَّيْ فِيْ هَذِهِ السَّاعَةِ

Oh God, let him know about me at this hour

وَ فِيْ هَذَا الْيَوْمِ وَ فِيْ هَذَا الْوَقْتِ

And on this day and at this time

وَ كُلِّ وَقْتِ تَحِيَّةً وَ سَلَامًا

Greetings and peace at all times

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا ابْنَ سَيِّدِ الْعَالَمِيْنَ

Peace be upon you, son of the master of the worlds.

وَ عَلَى الْمُسْتَشْهَدِيْنَ مَعَكَ

And upon those who are martyred with you

سَلَامًا مُتَّصِلًا مَا اتَّصَلَ اللَّيْلُ وَ النَّهَارُ [بِالنَّهَادِ]

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَى الْحُسَيْنِ بْنِ عَلِيَّ ٱلشَّهِيْدِ

Peace be upon Al-Hussein bin Ali, the martyr.

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَى عَلِيَّ بْنِ الْحُسَيْنِ الشَّهِيْدِ

Peace be upon Ali bin Al-Hussein, the martyr.

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَى الْعَبَّاسِ بْنِ آَمِيْرِ الْمُؤْمِنِيْنَ الشَّهِيْدِ

Peace be upon Al-Abbas, son of the Commander of the Faithful, the martyr.

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَى الشُّهَدَاءِ مِنْ وُلْدِ اَمِيْرِ الْمُؤْمِنِيْنَ

Peace be upon the martyrs from the descendants of the Commander of the Faithful

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَى الشُّهَدَاءِ مِنْ وُلْدٍ جَعْفَرٍ وَ عَقِيْل

Peace be upon the martyrs from the sons of Jafar and Aqeel.

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَى كُلِّ مُسْتَشْهَدٍ مِنَ الْمُؤْمِنِيْنَ

Peace be upon every believer who martyrs.

اَللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَال مُحَمَّدٍ

O God, bless Muhammad and his family

وَ بَلَغْهُمْ عَنَّيْ تَحِيَّةً وَ سَلَامًا

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا رَسُوْلَ اللهِ

Peace be upon you, O Messenger of God

وَ عَلَيْكَ السَّلَامُ وَ رَحْمَةُ اللهِ وَ بَرَكَاتُهُ

May God’s peace, mercy, and blessings be upon you.

اَحْسَنَ اللهُ لَكَ الْعَزَآءَ

May God bless you with condolences

فِي وَلَدِكَ الْحُسَيْنِ عَلَيْهِ السَّلَامُ

In your son Al-Hussein, peace be upon him

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَآ آَبَا الْحَسَنِ يَآ اَمِيْرَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ

Peace be upon you, O Abu Al-Hasan, O Commander of the Faithful

وَ عَلَيْكَ السَّلَامُ وَ رَحْمَةُ اللهِ وَ بَرَكَاتُهُ

May God’s peace, mercy, and blessings be upon you.

اَخسَنَ اللهُ لَكَ الْعَزَآءَ فِيْ وَلَدِكَ الْحُسَيْنِ

May God bestow solace upon you in your son Hussein.

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكِ يَا فَاطِمَةُ

Peace be upon you, Fatima

يَا بِنْتَ رَسُوْلِ رَبِّ العَالَمِينَ

O daughter of the Messenger of the Lord of the Worlds

وَ عَلَيْكِ السَّلَامُ وَ رَحْمَةُ اللهِ وَ بَرَكَاتُهُ

May God’s peace, mercy, and blessings be upon you.

اَخسَنَ اللهُ لَكِ الْعَزَاءَ فِيْ وَلَدِكِ الْحُسَيْنِ

May God grant you solace in your son Al-Hussein.

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا أَبَا مُحَمَّدِ اِلْحَسَنِ

I keep that coming to you both

وَ عَلَيْكَ السَّلَامُ وَ رَحْمَةُ اللهِ وَ بَرَكَاتُهُ

May God’s peace, mercy, and blessings be upon you.

اَخْسَنَ اللهُ لَكَ الْعَزَآءَ فِي اَخِيْكَ الْحُسَيْنِ

May God bestow solace upon you in your brother Hussein.

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَى اَرْوَاحِ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَ الْمُؤْمِنَاتِ

Peace be upon the souls of the believing men and women

الْاَخِيَاءِ مِنْهُمْ وَ الْامْوَاتِ

The righteous among them and the dead

وَ عَلَيْهِمُ السَّلَامُ وَ رَحْمَةُ اللهِ وَ بَرَكَاتُهُ

May the peace, mercy, and blessings of God be upon them.

اَخْسَنَ اللهُ لَهُمُ الْعَزَآءَ فِيْ مَوْلَاهُمُ الْحُسَيْنِ

May God bestow solace upon them in their lord Hussein.

اَللَّهُمَّ اجْعَلْنَا مِنَ الطَّالِبِيْنَ بِثَارِهِ

Oh God, make us among those seeking his revenge.

مَعَ اِمَامِ عَدْلٍ تُعِزُّ بِهِ الْإِسْلَامَ وَ آَهْلَهُ

With a just Imam through whom Islam and its people will be glorified

يَا رَبَّ العَالَمِيْنَ.

O Lord of the worlds.

Instructions

You may then prostrate yourself and say the following words:

اَللّهُمَّ لَكَ الْحَمْدُ

O Allah, to You belongs all praise,

عَلَى جَمِيْعٍ مَا نَابَ [يَأْتِي] مِنْ خَطِبٍ

وَ لَكَ الْحَمْدُ عَلَى كُلِّ اَمْرٍ

Praise be to You for every matter

وَ اِلَيْكَ الْمُشتَكَى فِيْ عَظِيمِ الْمُهِمَّاتِ

And to You is the one who complains in the greatest of tasks.

بِخِيَرَتِكَ وَ اَوْلِيَائِكَ

With your goodness and friends

وَ ذَلِكَ لِمَا اَوْجَبْتَ لَهُمْ مِنَ الْكَرَامَةِ وَ الْفَضْلِ الْكَثِيْرِ

This is because of the honor and great favor You have decreed for them.

اَللَّهُمَّ فَصَلَّ عَلى مُحَمَدٍ وَ أَلِ مُحَمَّدٍ

O God, bless Muhammad and the family of Muhammad

وَ اززُقْنِي شَفَاعَةَ الْحُسَيْنِ عَلَيْهِ السَّلَامُ يَوْمَ الْوُرُوْدِ

And I was blessed by the intercession of Al-Hussein, peace be upon him, on the Day of Roses.

وَ الْمَقَامِ الْمَشْهُوْدِ وَ الْحَوْضِ الْمَوْرُوْدِ

And the well-known place and the basin that will be visited.

وَ اجْعَلْ لِي قَدَمَ صِدْقٍ عِنْدَكَ

And give me a position of truth with You

مَعَ الْحُسَيْنِ وَ اَضحَابُ الْحَسَيْنِ عَلَيْهِ السَّلَامُ

With Al-Hussein and the companions of Al-Hussein, peace be upon him

الَّذِيْنَ وَاسَوْهُ بِانْفُسِهِمْ

Those who consoled him with themselves

وَ بَذَلُوْا دُوْنَهُ مُهَجَهُمْ

And they made their habitation without it

وَ جَاهَدُوْا مَعَهُ اَعْدَآَءَكَ

And your enemies strive with him

ابْتِغَآءَ مَرْضَاتِكَ وَ رَجَآئِكَ

Seeking your satisfaction and your hope

وَ تَصدِيْقًا بِوَعْدِكَ

And in keeping with your promise

وَ خَوْفًا مِنْ وَعِيْدِكَ

And for fear of your threat

اِنَّكَ لَطِيْفٌ لِمَا تَشَآَءُ

You are kind to whatever you want

يَا ارْحَمَ الرَّاحِمِيْنَ.

O Most Merciful of the merciful.
