Instructions

prayer might be said for bidding farewell to the month of Ramazan:

اَللّهُمَّ إِنَّكَ قُلْتَ فِيْ كِتَابِكَ الْمُنْزَلِ شَهْرُ رَمَضَانَ الَّذِيَّ أُنْزِلَ فِيْهِ الْقُرْاْنُ وَ هَذَا شَهْرُ

Oh God, you said in your revealed Book the month of Ramadan in which the Qur’an was revealed, and this month

رَمَضَانَ وَ قَدْ تَصَرَّمَ فَاساَلَكَ بِوَجْهِكَ الْكَرِيْمِ وَ كَلِمَاتِكَ التَّامَةِ إِنْ كَانَ بَقِيَ عَلَيَّ

Ramadan has arrived, so I ask you, with your generous face and perfect words, if anything remains for me.

ذَنْبٌ لَمْ تَغْفِزْهُ لِيّ أَوْ تُرِيْدُ آَنْ تُعَذِّبَني عَلَيْهِ اَوْ تُقَايِسَنِي بِهِ آَنْ لَا يَظِلُعَ فَجْرُ هَذِهِ

A sin for which you did not forgive me, or for which you would punish me, or compare me to it, as long as the dawn of this day does not come.

اللِّيْلَةِ اَوْ يَتَصَرَّمَ هَذَا الشَّهْرُ إِلَا وَ قَدْ غَفَرْتَهُ لِيْ يَآ اَرْحَمَ الرَّاحِمِيْنَ اَللَهُمَّ لَكَ الْحَمْدُ

Tonight or this month ends unless You have forgiven me, O Most Merciful of the Merciful. O God, praise be to You.

بِمَحَامِدِكَ كُلَّهَا آَوَّلِهَا وَ أخِرِهَا مَا قُلْتَ لِنَفْسِكَ مِنْهَا وَ مَا قَالَ الْخَلَائِقُ الْحَامِدُوْنَ

With all of Your praises, the beginning and the end of which are what you said to yourself about them and what the praiseworthy creatures said.

الْمُجْتَهِدُوْنَ الْمَعْدُوْدُوْنَ الْمُوَفِّرُوْنَ ذِكْرَكَ وَ الشُّكْرَ لَكَ الَّذِيْنَ اَعَنتَهُمْ عَلَى آدَآءِ

Those who are diligent and generous are numbered. Your mention and thanks to you whom you have helped to perform.

حَقَّكَ مِنْ اَضْنَافِ خَلْقِكَ مِنَ الْمَلَائِكَةِ الْمُقَرَّبِيْنَ وَ

Your right is one of the closest types of your creation, among the angels, and

النَّبِيِّيْنَ وَ الْمُرْسَلِيْنَ وَ اَضْنَافِ النَّاطِقِيْنَ وَ الْمُسَبَّحِيْنَ لَكَ مِنْ جَمِيْعِ الْعَالَمِيْنَ، عَلَى

The prophets, the messengers, the types of speakers, and those who glorify You from all the worlds, on

آَنَّكَ بَلَغْتَنَا شَهْرَ رَمَضَانَ وَ عَلَيْنَا مِنْ نِعَمِكَ وَ عِثْدَنَا مِنْ قِسَمِكَ وَ إِحْسَانِكَ وَ تَظَاهُرٍ

You have reached the month of Ramadan upon us, and upon us are your blessings, and your pledge, your oath, your benevolence, and your steadfastness.

امْتِنَانِكَ فَبِذْلِكَ لَكَ مُنْتَهَى الْحَمْدِ الْخَالِدُ الدَّائِمُ الرَّاكِدُ الْمُخَلَّدُ السَّرْمَدِ اَلَّذِيْ لَا يَنْفَدُ

Your gratitude, for that you have the utmost praise, immortal, eternal, stagnant, immortal, eternal, and inexhaustible.

طُوْلَ الْأَبَدِ جَلَّ تَنَآؤُكَ اَعَثتَنَا عَلَيْهِ حَتِّى قَضَيْتَ عَنَّا صِيَامَهُ وَ قِيَامَهُ مِنْ صَلَاةٍ وَ

For as long as eternity, You have granted us Your patience, until You have decreed for us his fasting and prayers.

مَا كَانَ مِنَّا فِيْهِ مِنْ بِرَّ اَوْ شُكْرٍ آَوْ ذِكْرِ اللَّهُمَّ فَتَقَبَلْهُ مِنَا بِآَخْسَنِ قَبُوْلِكَ وَ تَجَاوُزِكَ

Whatever we do in it of righteousness, gratitude, or remembrance, O God, accept it from us with the best of Your acceptance and exceed You.

وَ عَفْوِكَ وَ صَفْحِكَ وَ غُفْرَانِكَ وَ حَقِيْقَةٍ رِضْوَانِكَ حَتِّى تُظَفَّرَنَا فِيْهِ بِكُلِّ خَيْرٍ

And Your pardon, and Your pardon, and Your forgiveness, and the reality of Your satisfaction, until we achieve all goodness in it.

مَطلُوبٍ وَ جَزِيْلِ عَطَاءِ مَؤْهُوْبٍ وَ تُوْقِيَنَا فِيْهِ مِنْ كُلِّ مَرْهُوْبٍ آَوْ بَلَآءِ مَجْلُوْبٍ آَوْ

A much needed and generous gift is welcome, and we are saved therein from every feared calamity or affliction brought upon us.

ذَثْبِ مَسْكُوْبٍ. اَللَّهُمَّ إِنَّيّ اَساَلُكَ بِعَظِيْمٍ مَا سَالَكَ بِهِ اَحَدْ مِنْ خَلْقِكَ مِنْ كَرِيْمِ

Spilled bird. Oh God, I ask You for a great thing that no one of Your creation has ever asked You for.

اَسْمَآئِكَ وَ جَمِيْلِ ثَنَآئِكَ وَ خَاصَّةٍ دُعَآئِكَ اَنْ تُصَلِّيَ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ الِ مُحَمَّدٍ وَ آَنْ

Your names, your beautiful praise, and especially your supplication that you bless Muhammad and the family of Muhammad, and that

تَجْعَلَ شَهْرَنَا هَذَاَ اَعْظَمَ شَهْرٍ

You make this month of ours the greatest month.

رَمَضَانَ مَرَّ عَلَيْنَا مُئَذُ اَنْزَلْتَنَا إِلَى الدُّنْيَا بَرَكَةً فِي عِضْمَةِ دِيْنِي وَ خَلَاصٍ نَفْسِيْ وَ

Ramadan has passed for us since You sent us down to this world, as a blessing for the greatness of my religion and the salvation of my soul.

قَضَآءِ حَوَائِجِي وَ تُشَفَّعَنِي فِي مَسَائِلِي وَ تَمَامِ النَّعْمَةِ عَلَيَّ وَ صَرْفِ الشُوْءِ عَنَّيْ وَ

fulfilling my needs, interceding for me in my requests, perfecting His blessings upon me, diverting trouble from me, and

لِبَاسِ الْعَافِيَةِ لِنِ فِيْهِ وَ اَنْ تَجْعَلَنِي بِرَحْمَتِكَ مِمَّنْ جِزْتَ لَهُ لَيْلَةَ الْقَدْرِ وَ جَعَلْتَهَا لَهُ

I will wear it as a garment of good health, and that, by Your mercy, You make me among those for whom You have rewarded the Night of Decree and made it for him.

خَيْرًا مِنْ آَلْفِ شَهْرٍ فِيْ آَعْظَمِ الْاَجِرِ وَ كَرَائِمِ الذُّخْرِ وَ حُسْنِ الشُّكْرِ وَ طُوْلِ الْعُمْرِ وَ

And all the angels who are close to each other,

دَوَامِ الْيُسْرِ اَللَّهُمَّ وَ اسْالُكَ بِرَحْمَتِكَ وَ طَوْلِكَ وَ عَفْوِكَ وَ نَعْمَآئِكَ وَ جَلَالِكَ وَ قَدِيْمِ

Perpetual ease, O God, and I ask you for your mercy, your forbearance, your forgiveness, your blessings, your majesty, and your eternal

اِحْسَانِكَ وَ امْتِنَانِكَ اَنْ لَا تَجْعَلَهُ أخِرَ الْعَهْدِ مِنَّا لِشَهْرِ رَمَضَانَ حَتِّى تُبَلَّغَنَاهُ مِنْ

Your kindness and gratitude do not make it our last pledge for the month of Ramadan until you have conveyed it to us.

قَابِلٍ عَلَى آَخسَنِ حَالٍ، وَ تُعَرَّفَنِي هِلَالَهُ مَعَ النَّاظِرِيْنَ

It will be in the best condition, and its crescent will make itself known to those who see it.

اِلَيْهِ وَ الْمُعْتَرِفِيْنَ لَهُ فِيْ اَغْفَى عَافِيَتِكَ وَ أَنْعَمِ نِعْمَتِكَ وَ اَوْسَعِ رَحْمَتِكَ وَ اَجْزَلِ

To him and those who acknowledge him, may he bestow your well-being, bestow your blessings, extend your mercy, and be abundant.

قِسَمِكَ يَا رَبَّيَ الَّذِيْ لَيْسَ لِي رَبُّ غَيْرُهُ لَا يَكُوْنُ هَذَا الْوَدَاعُ مِنَّيْ لَهُ وَدَاعَ قَنَاءِ وَ

I swear to you, O my Lord, besides whom I have no Lord, that this farewell from me to him shall not be one of contentment and contentment.

لَا أَخِرَ الْعَهِدِ مِنّنْ لِلِقَاءِ حَتِّى تُرِيَنيْهِ مِنْ قَابِلٍ فِيْ آَوْسَعِ النَّعَمِ وَ آَفْضَلِ الرَّجَآءِ وَ

The covenant will not last until we meet until you show him the widest of blessings and the best of hope.

آَنَا لَكَ عَلَى آَحْسَنِ الْوَفَاءِ إِنَّكَ سَمِيْعُ الدُّعَاءِ اَللَّهُمَّ اسْمَغ دُعَآئِيْ وَ ازْحَمْ تَضَرُّعِي وَ

I owe you the best of loyalty. You are the Hearer of supplication. Oh God, hear my supplication and grant my supplications.

تَذَلَّلِي لَكَ وَ اسْتِكَانَتِي وَ تَوَكُّلِي عَلَيْكَ وَ اَنَا لَكَ مُسَلَّمٌ لَا آَرجُو نَجَاحًا وَ لَا مُعَافَاةً

My submission to You, my humility, and my trust in You, and I submit to You. I do not hope for success or well-being.

وَ لَا تَشَرِيْفًا وَ لَا تَبْلِيْغًا اِلَّا بِكَ وَ مِئْكَ وَ امْنُنْ عَلَيَّ جَلَّ ثَنَآؤُكَ وَ تَقَدَّسَتْ اَسْمَاؤُكَ

There is no honour, no message, except through you and your descendants, and bestow upon me Your praise, glory be to Him, and sanctified are your names.

بِتَبْلِيغِي شَهْرٍ رَمَضَانَ وَ آَنَا مُعَافِّى مِنْ كُلِّ مَكْرُوْهِ وَ مَخذُوْرٍ وَ مِنْ جَمِيْعِ الْبَوَائِقِ

I reach the month of Ramadan and I am free from all harm and distress and from all disasters.

الْحَمْدُ للهِ الَّذِيّ آعَانَنَا عَلَى صِيَامِ هَذَا الشَّهْرِ وَ قِيَامِهِ حَتِّى بَلَّغَنِيّ أَخِرَ لَيْلَةٍ مِنْهُ.

Praise be to God who helped us to fast this month and pray until the last night of it.
