Dua Iftitah as recorded in authentic Shia supplication manuals and traditions of the Holy Infallibles ('a).
Dua Iftitah kama ilivyonukuliwa katika vitabu sahihi vya dua na mapokezi ya Maimamu Watakatifu ('a).
بِسْمِ اللهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
Kwa jina la Mwenyezi Mungu, Mwingi wa Rehema, Mwenye Kurehemu.
اَللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَفْتَتِحُ ٱلثَّنَاءَ بِحَمْدِكَ
O Allah, I begin my praise with Your praise.
Ewe Mwenyezi Mungu, ninaanza sifa zangu kwa kukusifu Wewe.
وَأَنْتَ مُسَدِّدٌ لِلصَّوَابِ بِمَنِّكَ
And You guide to the right path by Your grace.
Na Wewe unaongoza kwenye njia sahihi kwa neema Yako.
وَأَيْقَنْتُ أَنَّكَ أَنْتَ أَرْحَمُ ٱلرَّاحِمِينَ
And I am certain that You are the Most Merciful of the merciful.
Na nina uhakika kuwa Wewe ndiye Mwenye Rehema Kati ya wote waliorehemu.
فِي مَوْضِعِ ٱلْعَفْوِ وَٱلرَّحْمَةِ
In the place of pardon and mercy.
Katika mahali pa msamaha na rehema.
وَأَشَدُّ ٱلْمُعَاقِبِينَ
And the Most Severe of the punishing.
Na ndiye Mkali zaidi wa wale wanaadhibu.
فِي مَوْضِعِ ٱلنَّكَالِ وَٱلنَّقِمَةِ
In the place of retribution and vengeance.
Katika mahali pa adhabu na kisasi.
وَأَعْظَمُ ٱلْمُتَجَبِّرِينَ
And the Greatest of the mighty and dominant.
Na ndiye Mkuu zaidi wa wale wenye nguvu na utawala.
فِي مَوْضِعِ ٱلْكِبْرِيَاءِ وَٱلْعَظَمَةِ
In the place of majesty and grandeur.
Katika mahali pa ukuu na utukufu.
اَللَّهُمَّ أَذِنْتَ لِي فِي دُعَائِكَ وَمَسْأَلَتِكَ
O Allah, You have permitted me to call upon You and ask from You.
Ewe Mwenyezi Mungu, Umeniruhusu kuinua dua na kukuomba.
فَٱسْمَعْ يَا سَمِيعُ مِدْحَتِي
So hear, O Hearer, my praise.
Sikiza, Ewe Msikizi, sifa zangu.
وَأَجِبْ يَا رَحِيمُ دَعْوَتِي
And answer, O Merciful, my supplication.
Na jibu, Ewe Mwenye Rehema, maombi yangu.
وَأَقِلْ يَا غَفُورُ عَثْرَتِي
And forgive, O Forgiving, my stumbles.
Na wasamehe, Ewe Msamehe, dhambi zangu.
فَكَمْ يَا إِلٰهِي مِنْ كُرْبَةٍ قَدْ فَرَّجْتَهَا
How many a distress, O my God, have You relieved.
Ni machungu mangapi, Ewe Mungu wangu, umeondoa.
وَهُمُومٍ قَدْ كَشَفْتَهَا
And worries that You have uncovered.
Na hofu ambazo Umeifuta.
وَعَثْرَةٍ قَدْ أَقَلْتَهَا
And mistakes that You have lifted.
Na makosa ambayo Umeondoa.
وَرَحْمَةٍ قَدْ نَشَرْتَهَا
And mercy that You have spread.
Na rehema ambazo Umezitanda.
وَحَلْقَةِ بَلاءٍ قَدْ فَكَكْتَهَا
And a cycle of trial that You have untied.
Na mzunguko wa mtihani ambao Umeutenga.
الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ ٱلَّذِي لَمْ يَتَّخِذْ صَاحِبَةً وَلاَ وَلَداً
Praise be to Allah who has taken no companion and no child.
Sifa zetu kwa Mwenyezi Mungu ambaye hana mwenza wala mtoto.
وَلَمْ يَكُنْ لَهُ شَرِيكٌ فِي ٱلْمُلْكِ
And who has no partner in His dominion.
Na hana mshirika katika utawala wake.
وَلَمْ يَكُنْ لَهُ وَلِيٌّ مِنَ ٱلذُّلِّ
And He has no protector from degradation.
Na hana mlezi wa kudharaulika.
وَكَبِّرْهُ تَكْبِيراً
And magnify Him greatly.
Na Mkubwae kwa ukuu wake.
الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ بِجَمِيعِ مَحَامِدِهِ كُلِّهَا
Praise be to Allah with all His praises.
Sifa zetu kwa Mwenyezi Mungu kwa sifa zake zote.
عَلَىٰ جَمِيعِ نِعَمِهِ كُلِّهَا
For all His blessings.
Kwa fadhila zake zote.
الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ ٱلَّذِي لاَ مُضَادَّ لَهُ فِي مُلْكِهِ
Praise be to Allah who has no rival in His kingdom.
Sifa zetu kwa Mwenyezi Mungu ambaye hana mpinzani katika ufalme wake.
وَلاَ مُنَازِعَ لَهُ فِي أَمْرِهِ
And none disputes with Him in His command.
Na hakuna anayependekeza jambo dhidi ya amri Yake.
الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ ٱلَّذِي لاَ شَرِيكَ لَهُ فِي خَلْقِهِ
Praise be to Allah who has no partner in His creation.
Sifa zetu kwa Mwenyezi Mungu ambaye hana mshirika katika uumbaji wake.
وَلاَ شَبِيهَ لَهُ فِي عَظَمَتِهِ
And no one resembles Him in His greatness.
Na hakuna anayefanana naye katika ukuu wake.
الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ ٱلْفَاشِي فِي ٱلْخَلْقِ أَمْرُهُ وَحَمْدُهُ
Praise be to Allah whose command and praise extend over creation.
Sifa zetu kwa Mwenyezi Mungu ambaye amri yake na sifa zake zinapanuka juu ya uumbaji.
ٱلظَّاهِرِ بِٱلْكَرَمِ مَجْدُهُ
Manifest in generosity is His glory.
Uonekane katika ukarimu ni utukufu wake.
ٱلْبَاسِطِ بِٱلْجُودِ يَدَهُ
Extending His hand in bounty.
Akipanua mkono wake kwa ukarimu.
الَّذِي لاَ تَنْقُصُ خَزَائِنُهُ
Whose treasures are never diminished.
Ambaye hazipungui hazina zake.
وَلاَ تَزِيدُهُ كَثْرَةُ ٱلْعَطَاءِ إِلاَّ جُوداً وَكَرَماً
And the abundance of giving only increases His generosity and bounty.
Na wingi wa ukarimu haumuuzi ila unazidisha ukarimu wake.
إِنَّهُ هُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلْوَهَّابُ
Indeed, He is the Mighty, the Bestower.
Hakika, Yeye ndiye Mwenye Nguvu, Mtoaji Bora.
اَللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ قَلِيلاً مِنْ كَثِيرٍ
O Allah, I ask You for a little of Your abundant bounty.
Ewe Mwenyezi Mungu, naomba kidogo kutoka kwenye wingi wako.
مَعَ حَاجَةٍ بِي إِلَيْهِ عَظِيمَةٍ
Along with a great need I have towards Him.
Pamoja na haja kubwa niliyo nayo kwake.
وَغِنَاكَ عَنْهُ قَدِيمٌ
And Your richness from it is everlasting.
Na utajiri wako kutoka kwake ni wa milele.
وَهُوَ عِنْدِي كَثِيرٌ
And it is abundant with me.
Na ni tele kwangu.
وَهُوَ عَلَيْكَ سَهْلٌ يَسِيرٌ
And with You it is easy and simple.
Na kwako ni rahisi na mpole.
اَللَّهُمَّ إِنَّ عَفْوَكَ عَنْ ذَنْبِي
O Allah, indeed Your pardon for my sin
Ewe Mwenyezi Mungu, hakika msamaha wako kwa dhambi yangu
وَتَجَاوُزَكَ عَنْ خَطِيئَتِي
And Your forgiveness of my mistakes
Na kusamehe kwako makosa yangu
وَصَفْحَكَ عَنْ ظُلْمِي
And Your overlooking my injustice
Na kupuuzia kwako dhuluma zangu
وَسِتْرَكَ عَلَىٰ قَبِيحِ عَمَلِي
And Your covering of my vile deeds
Na kufunika kwako matendo yangu mabaya
وَحِلْمَكَ عَنْ كَثِيرِ جُرْمِي
And Your forbearance regarding much of my sins
Na uvumilivu wako kuhusu dhambi zangu nyingi
عِنْدَ مَا كَانَ مِنْ خَطَإِي وَعَمْدِي
Considering what has been from my errors and intentional acts.
Kuzingatia kile kilichotokea kutokana na makosa yangu na makusudi yangu.
أَطْمَعَنِي فِي أَنْ أَسْأَلَكَ مَا لاَ أَسْتَوْجِبُهُ مِنْكَ
Make me hopeful to ask You for what I do not deserve from You.
Nifanye kuwa na matumaini ya kukuomba kile ambacho sisistahili kutoka kwako.
ٱلَّذِي رَزَقْتَنِي مِنْ رَحْمَتِكَ
That which You have provided me from Your mercy,
Kile ulichonipa kutoka rehema zako,
وَأَرَيْتَنِي مِنْ قُدْرَتِكَ
And shown me from Your power,
Na umenionesha kutoka uwezo wako,
وَعَرَّفْتَنِي مِنْ إِجَابَتِكَ
And made me aware of Your response,
Na umenifahamishe kuhusu majibu Yako,
فَصِرْتُ أَدْعُوكَ آمِنًا
So I call upon You with safety,
Hivyo nakuita kwa usalama,
وَأَسْأَلُكَ مُسْتَأْنِسًا
And I ask You confidently,
Na nakukuomba kwa uhakika,
لاَ خَائِفًا وَلاَ وَجِلًا
Neither fearing nor being anxious,
Bila kuogopa wala kuwa na hofu,
مُدِلًّا عَلَيْكَ فِيمَا قَصَدْتُ فِيهِ إِلَيْكَ
Entrusting myself to You regarding what I intend towards You,
Ninaweka mikono yangu kwako katika kile ninachokusudia kwako,
فَإِنْ أَبْطَأَ عَنِّي عَتَبْتُ بِجَهْلِي عَلَيْكَ
If You delay for me, I blame my ignorance upon You,
Kama ukichelewa kwangu, nakukosoa kwa ujinga wangu,
وَلَعَلَّ ٱلَّذِي أَبْطَأَ عَنِّي هُوَ خَيْرٌ لِي
And perhaps what is delayed for me is better for me,
Na labda kile kilichochelewa kwangu ni kizuri kwangu,
لِعِلْمِكَ بِعَاقِبَةِ ٱلأُمُورِ
With Your knowledge of the outcome of affairs.
Kwa maarifa yako ya matokeo ya mambo.
فَلَمْ أَرَ مَوْلَىً كَرِيمًا
I have not seen a noble master,
Sijaona bwana mwenye heshima,
أَصْبَرَ عَلَىٰ عَبْدٍ لَئِيمٍ مِنْكَ عَلَيَّ
More patient with a wretched servant than You with me.
Aye ambaye ni mvumilivu zaidi kwa mtumishi mbaya kuliko Wewe kwangu.
يَا رَبِّ إِنَّكَ تَدْعُونِي فَأُوَلِّي عَنْكَ
O Lord, indeed You call me, but I turn away from You,
Ewe Bwana, hakika Unanipigia lakini nakukwepa,
وَتَتَحَبَّبُ إِلَيَّ فَأَتَبَغَّضُ إِلَيْكَ
And You endear Yourself to me, but I become averse to You,
Na Unanipendeza, lakini ninakukwepa,
وَتَتَوَدَّدُ إِلَيَّ فَلاَ أَقْبَلُ مِنْكَ
And You show kindness to me, yet I do not accept from You.
Na Unanibembeleza, lakini sikubali kutoka kwako.
كَأَنَّ لِيَ ٱلتَّطَوُّلَ عَلَيْكَ
As if I have arrogance towards You,
Kama nina kiburi kwako,
فَلَمْ يَمْنَعْكَ ذٰلِكَ مِنَ ٱلرَّحْمَةِ لِي
Yet that does not prevent Your mercy towards me,
Lakini hilo haliizuie rehema Yako kwangu,
وَٱلإِحْسَانِ إِلَيَّ
And kindness towards me,
Na wema kwangu,
وَٱلتَّفَضُّلِ عَلَيَّ بِجُودِكَ وَكَرَمِكَ
And Your favor upon me with Your generosity and bounty.
Na neema Yako kwangu kwa ukarimu na fadhila Yako.
فَٱرْحَمْ عَبْدَكَ ٱلْجَاهِلَ
So have mercy on Your ignorant servant,
Basi umjalie rehema mtumishi wako mjinga,
وَجُدْ عَلَيْهِ بِفَضْلِ إِحْسَانِكَ
And bless him with Your bounty and favor.
Na umbariki kwa fadhila na wema wako.
إِنَّكَ جَوَادٌ كَرِيمٌ
Indeed, You are Generous and Noble,
Hakika Wewe ni Mwenye Kij generous na Mwenye Heshima,
الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ مَالِكِ ٱلْمُلْكِ
Praise be to Allah, the Owner of all sovereignty,
Sifa kwa Allah, Mmiliki wa Ufalme wote,
مُجْرِي ٱلْفُلْكِ
Who sets the ships in motion,
Ambaye husogeza meli,
مُسَخِّرِ ٱلرِّيَاحِ
And subdues the winds,
Na humdhibiti upepo,
فَالِقِ ٱلإِصْبَاحِ
And splits the dawn,
Na huuvunja alfajiri,
دَيَّانِ ٱلدِّينِ
The Judge of all affairs,
Mchunguzi wa masuala yote,
رَبِّ ٱلْعَالَمِينَ
Lord of the worlds,
Rabb wa walimwengu,
الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ عَلَىٰ حِلْمِهِ بَعْدَ عِلْمِهِ
Praise be to Allah for His forbearance after His knowledge,
Sifa kwa Allah kwa uvumilivu wake baada ya maarifa Yake,
وَٱلْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ عَلَىٰ عَفْوِهِ بَعْدَ قُدْرَتِهِ
And praise be to Allah for His forgiveness after His power,
Na sifa kwa Allah kwa msamaha wake baada ya uwezo wake,
وَٱلْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ عَلَىٰ طُولِ أَنَاتِهِ فِي غَضَبِهِ
And praise be to Allah for His patience in His anger,
Na sifa kwa Allah kwa uvumilivu wake katika ghadhabu Yake,
وَهُوَ قَادِرٌ عَلَىٰ مَا يُرِيدُ
While He is capable of whatever He wills,
Wakati Yeye yupo na uwezo wa yote anayoyataka,
الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ خَالِقِ ٱلْخَلْقِ
Praise be to Allah, the Creator of creation,
Sifa kwa Allah, Muumba wa viumbe,
بَاسِطِ ٱلرِّزْقِ
The Expander of sustenance,
Mpanua wa riziki,
فَالِقِ ٱلإِصْبَاحِ
Splitter of the dawn,
Huvunja alfajiri,
ذِي ٱلْجَلالِ وَٱلإِكْرَامِ
Owner of Majesty and Honor,
Mmiliki wa Utukufu na Heshima,
وَٱلْفَضْلِ وَٱلإِنْعَامِ
And of bounty and grace,
Na fadhila na neema,
ٱلَّذِي بَعُدَ فَلاَ يُرَىٰ
Who, when far, cannot be seen,
Ambaye, akiwa mbali, haonekani,
وَقَرُبَ فَشَهِدَ النَّجْوَىٰ
And when near, witnesses the secret conversation,
Na akiwa karibu, anashuhudia mazungumzo ya siri,
تَبَارَكَ وَتَعَالَىٰ
Blessed and Exalted is He,
Amebarikiwa na Amechaguliwa,
الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ ٱلَّذِي لَيْسَ لَهُ مُنَازِعٌ يُعَادِلُهُ
Praise be to Allah, who has no equal nor rival,
Sifa kwa Allah, ambaye hana mshindani wala mwenye uwiano naye,
وَلاَ شَبِيهٌ يُشَاكِلُهُ
And none resembles Him,
Na hakuna anayemfanana naye,
وَلاَ ظَهِيرٌ يُعَاضِدُهُ
And no supporter aids Him,
Na hakuna msaidizi anayemsaidia,
قَهَرَ بِعِزَّتِهِ ٱلأَعِزَّاءَ
He humbles the mighty by His might,
Humpa heshima wenye nguvu kwa uwezo wake,
وَتَوَاضَعَ لِعَظَمَتِهِ ٱلْعُظَمَاءُ
And the great humble themselves before His greatness,
Na wakubwa hunyoosha mbele ya ukuu wake,
فَبَلَغَ بِقُدْرَتِهِ مَا يَشَاءُ
So by His power, He accomplishes whatever He wills,
Kwa hivyo kwa uwezo wake, Yeye hufanikisha yote anayoyataka,
الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ ٱلَّذِي يُجِيبُنِي حِينَ أُنَادِيهِ
Praise be to Allah, who responds to me when I call Him,
Sifa kwa Allah, ambaye ananisikia ninapomuita,
وَيَسْتُرُ عَلَيَّ كُلَّ عَوْرَةٍ وَأَنَا أَعْصِيهِ
And conceals all my faults while I disobey Him,
Na anaficha makosa yangu yote nikiwa namkosa,
وَيُعَظِّمُ ٱلنِّعْمَةَ عَلَيَّ فَلاَ أُجَازِيهِ
And magnifies His blessings upon me, yet I cannot repay Him,
Na anapanua baraka Zake kwangu, lakini siwezi kumlipa,
فَكَمْ مِنْ مَوْهِبَةٍ هَنِيئَةٍ قَدْ أَعْطَانِي
How many delightful gifts He has given me,
Ni zawadi ngapi zenye furaha Ameshatoa kwangu,
وَعَظِيمَةٍ مَخُوفَةٍ قَدْ كَفَانِي
And great, awe-inspiring ones that sufficed me,
Na zile kubwa, za kuogopesha ambazo zilenyosha,
وَبَهْجَةٍ مُونِقَةٍ قَدْ أَرَانِي
And delightful joys that He has shown me,
Na furaha za kupendeza ambazo Amenionyesha,
فَأُثْنِي عَلَيْهِ حَامِداً
So I praise Him, giving thanks,
Kwa hivyo namshukuru, nikimshukuru,
وَأَذْكُرُهُ مُسَبِّحاً
And I remember Him glorifying Him,
Na namkumbuka nikimsifu,
الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ ٱلَّذِي لاَ يُهْتَكُ حِجَابُهُ
Praise be to Allah, whose veil is never breached,
Sifa kwa Allah, ambaye pazia lake halivunjiki,
وَلاَ يُغْلَقُ بَابُهُ
And whose door is never closed,
Na mlango wake hauzuiliki,
وَلاَ يُرَدُّ سَائِلُهُ
And no one who asks Him is turned away,
Na hakuna anayemuomba anayeangushwa,
وَلاَ يُخَيَّبُ آمِلُهُ
And no hopeful is disappointed in Him,
Na hakuna mwenye matumaini anayekata tamaa kwake,
الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ ٱلَّذِي يُؤْمِنُ ٱلْخَائفِينَ
Praise be to Allah, who assures the fearful,
Sifa kwa Allah, ambaye anaimarisha woga,
وَيُنَجِّي ٱلصَّالِحِينَ
And saves the righteous,
Na kuokoa wenye haki,
وَيَرْفَعُ ٱلْمُسْتَضْعَفِينَ
And raises the oppressed,
Na kuinua wanyonge,
وَيَضَعُ ٱلْمُسْتَكْبِرِينَ
And humbles the arrogant,
Na kudhoofisha wajivuni,
وَيُهْلِكُ مُلُوكاً وَيَسْتَخْلِفُ آخَرِينَ
And destroys some kings while appointing others in succession,
Na kuangamiza wafalme wengine na kumchukua mwingine wa urithi,
وَٱلْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ قَاصِمِ ٱلْجَبَّارِينَ
Praise be to Allah, the crusher of tyrants,
Sifa kwa Allah, anayevunja nguvu za wanyanyasaji,
مُبِيرِ ٱلظَّالِمِينَ
And the scatterer of the wrongdoers,
Na anayewatangaza wahalifu,
مُدْرِكِ ٱلْهَارِبِينَ
And the pursuer of the fugitives,
Na anayemfukuza mkimbizi,
نَكَالِ ٱلظَّالِمِينَ
And the punisher of the oppressors,
Na anayewadhibu wanyanyasaji,
صَرِيخِ ٱلْمُسْتَصْرِخِينَ
And the responder to the cries of those who call for help,
Na anayejibu kilio cha wale wanaoomba msaada,
مَوْضِعِ حَاجَاتِ ٱلطَّالِبِينَ
And the fulfiller of the needs of the seekers,
Na anayefanikisha mahitaji ya wanaotafuta,
مُعْتَمَدِ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ
And the trusted one of the believers,
Na anayemtegemea muumini,
الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ ٱلَّذِي مِنْ خَشْيَتِهِ تَرْعُدُ ٱلسَّمَاءُ وَسُكَّانُهَا
Praise be to Allah, before Whose fear the heavens and their inhabitants tremble,
Sifa kwa Allah, ambaye kwa woga wake mbingu na viumbe vyake vinatetemeka,
وَتَرْجُفُ ٱلأَرْضُ وَعُمَّارُهَا
And the earth and its inhabitants quake,
Na dunia na wakazi wake wanatetemeka,
وَتَمُوجُ ٱلْبِحَارُ وَمَنْ يَسْبَحُ فِي غَمَرَاتِهَا
And the seas surge along with all who sail in their depths,
Na bahari zinatetemeka pamoja na wote wanaosafiri ndani yake,
الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ ٱلَّذِي هَدَانَا لِهٰذَا
Praise be to Allah, who has guided us to this,
Sifa kwa Allah, ambaye ametuelekeza kwa hili,
وَمَا كُنَّا لِنَهْتَدِيَ لَوْلاَ أَنْ هَدَانَا ٱللَّهُ
And we would never have been guided if Allah had not guided us,
Na hatungepata mwanga wa njia kama Allah hakuwa ametuelekeza,
الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ ٱلَّذِي يَخْلُقُ وَلَمْ يُخْلَقْ
Praise be to Allah, who creates and is not created,
Sifa kwa Allah, ambaye anaunda na hajaundwa,
وَيَرْزُقُ وَلاَ يُرْزَقْ
And provides sustenance and is not provided for,
Na anayepewa riziki na hajapewa riziki,
وَيُطْعِمُ وَلاَ يُطْعَمُ
And feeds and is not fed,
Na anayepewa chakula na hajapewa chakula,
وَيُمِيتُ ٱلأَحْيَاءَ
And causes the living to die,
Na anayewaua wa hai,
وَيُحْيِي ٱلْمَوْتَىٰ
And gives life to the dead,
Na anayeamsha wafu,
وَهُوَ حَيٌّ لاَ يَمُوتُ
And He is Ever-Living; He does not die,
Na yeye ni Mhai; haafi,
بِيَدِهِ ٱلْخَيْرُ
In His hand is all good,
Kila wema upo mikononi mwake,
وَهُوَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ
And He is able over all things.
Na yeye ana uwezo juu ya kila kitu.
اللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَىٰ مُحَمَّدٍ عَبْدِكَ وَرَسُولِكَ
O Allah, send blessings upon Muhammad, Your servant and Messenger,
Ee Allah, mtukuzie Muhammad, mtumishi wako na Mtume wako,
وَأَمِينِكَ وَصَفِيِّكَ وَحَبِيبِكَ
And Your trustworthy, chosen, and beloved one,
Na mwaminifu wako, mchaguliwa, na mpendwa wako,
وَخِيَرَتِكَ مِنْ خَلْقِكَ
And the best of Your creation,
Na bora wa viumbe vyako,
وَحَافِظِ سِرِّكَ
And the guardian of Your secret,
Na mlinzi wa siri yako,
وَمُبَلِّغِ رِسَالاَتِكَ
And the conveyer of Your messages,
Na mleteaji wa ujumbe wako,
أَفْضَلَ وَأَحْسَنَ وَأَجْمَلَ
The most excellent, the best, the most beautiful,
Bora zaidi, mema zaidi, mrembo zaidi,
وَأَكْمَلَ وَأَزْكَىٰ وَأَنْمَىٰ
The most complete, purest, and most flourishing,
Kamili zaidi, safi zaidi, na anayeendelea zaidi,
وَأَطْيَبَ وَأَطْهَرَ وَأَسْنَىٰ
The purest, the most wholesome, and the loftiest,
Safu zaidi, safi zaidi, na mkuu zaidi,
وَأَكْثَرَ مَا صَلَّيْتَ وَبَارَكْتَ
And the one upon whom You have sent the most blessings and salutations,
Na aliyepewa dua na baraka nyingi zaidi,
وَتَرَحَّمْتَ وَتَحَنَّنْتَ
And upon whom You have shown mercy and compassion,
Na aliyepewa rehema na huruma,
وَسَلَّمْتَ عَلَىٰ أَحَدٍ مِنْ عِبَادِكَ وَأَنْبِيَائِكَ
And You have granted peace upon any of Your servants and prophets,
Na umeleta amani kwa mtumishi wowote wako na manabii wako,
وَرُسُلِكَ وَصِفْوَتِكَ
And Your messengers and Your chosen ones,
Na mitume yako na waliyochaguliwa,
وَأَهْلِ ٱلْكَرَامَةِ عَلَيْكَ مِنْ خَلْقِكَ
And those honored by You from among Your creation,
Na walioheshimiwa na Wewe miongoni mwa viumbe vyako,
اللَّهُمَّ وَصَلِّ عَلَىٰ عَلِيٍّ أَمِيرِ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ
O Allah, send blessings upon Ali, the Commander of the Faithful,
Ee Allah, mtukuzie Ali, Amir wa Waumini,
وَوَصِيِّ رَسُولِ رَبِّ ٱلْعَالَمِينَ
And the executor of the Messenger of the Lord of the Worlds,
Na mrithi wa Mtume wa Mola wa Walimwengu,
عَبْدِكَ وَوَلِيِّكَ وَأَخِي رَسُولِكَ
Your servant, Your guardian, and the brother of Your Messenger,
Mtumishi wako, mlezi wako, na kaka wa Mtume wako,
وَحُجَّتِكَ عَلَىٰ خَلْقِكَ
And Your proof over Your creation,
Na ushahidi wako juu ya viumbe vyako,
وَآيَتِكَ ٱلْكُبْرَىٰ
And Your great sign,
Na ishara yako kuu,
وَٱلنَّبَإِ ٱلْعَظِيمِ
And the great news,
Na habari kubwa,
وَصَلِّ عَلَىٰ ٱلصِّدِّيقَةِ ٱلطَّاهِرَةِ
And send blessings upon the truthful and pure one,
Na mtukuzie aliyekuwa mwaminifu na safi,
فَاطِمَةَ سَيِّدَةِ نِسَاءِ ٱلْعَالَمِينَ
Fatimah, the mistress of the women of the worlds,
Fatimah, bibi wa wanawake wote duniani,
وَصَلِّ عَلَىٰ سِبْطَيِ ٱلرَّحْمَةِ
And send blessings upon the two grandsons of mercy,
Na mtukuzie wajukuu wawili wa rehema,
وَإِمَامَيِ ٱلْهُدَىٰ
And the two leaders of guidance,
Na viongozi wawili wa mwongozo,
ٱلْحَسَنِ وَٱلْحُسَيْنِ
Al-Hasan and Al-Husayn,
Al-Hasan na Al-Husayn,
سَيِّدَيْ شَبَابِ أَهْلِ ٱلْجَنَّةِ
Masters of the youth of Paradise,
Mabwana wa vijana wa Peponi,
وَصَلِّ عَلَىٰ أَئِمَّةِ ٱلْمُسْلِمِينَ
And send blessings upon the Imams of the Muslims,
Na mtukuzie Imamu wa Waislamu,
عَلِيِّ بْنِ ٱلْحُسَيْنِ
Ali ibn Al-Husayn,
Ali bin Al-Husayn,
وَمُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ
Muhammad ibn Ali,
Muhammad bin Ali,
وَجَعْفَرِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ
Ja'far ibn Muhammad,
Ja'far bin Muhammad,
وَمُوسَىٰ بْنِ جَعْفَرٍ
Musa ibn Ja'far,
Musa bin Ja'far,
وَعَلِيِّ بْنِ مُوسَىٰ
Ali ibn Musa,
Ali bin Musa,
وَمُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ
Muhammad ibn Ali,
Muhammad bin Ali,
وَعَلِيِّ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ
Ali ibn Muhammad,
Ali bin Muhammad,
وَٱلْحَسَنِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ
Al-Hasan ibn Ali,
Al-Hasan bin Ali,
وَٱلْخَلَفِ ٱلْهَادِي ٱلْمَهْدِيِّ
And the succeeding guide, Al-Mahdi,
Na kiongozi anayefuata, Al-Mahdi,
حُجَجِكَ عَلَىٰ عِبَادِكَ
Your proofs upon Your servants,
Ushahidi wako juu ya watumishi wako,
وَأُمَنَائِكَ فِي بِلادِكَ
And Your trustees in Your lands,
Na wawakilishi wako katika nchi zako,
صَلاةً كَثِيرَةً دَائِمَةً
A prayer abundant and everlasting,
Sala nyingi na za kudumu,
اَللَّهُمَّ وَصَلِّ عَلَىٰ وَليِّ أَمْرِكَ
O Allah, send blessings upon Your guardian,
Ewe Allah, mtukuzie Mlezi wako,
ٱلْقَائِمِ ٱلْمُؤَمَّلِ
The awaited Qa’im,
Qa’im aliye tarajiwa,
وَٱلْعَدْلِ ٱلْمُنْتَظَرِ
And the awaited justice,
Na haki inayotarajiwa,
وَحُفَّهُ بِمَلائِكَتِكَ ٱلْمُقَرَّبِينَ
And surround him with Your close angels,
Na mzunguke na malaika wako wa karibu,
وَأَيِّدْهُ بِرُوحِ ٱلْقُدُسِ
And strengthen him with the Holy Spirit,
Na mpe nguvu kwa Roho Mtakatifu,
يَا رَبَّ ٱلْعَالَمِينَ
O Lord of the Worlds,
Ee Mola wa Walimwengu,
اَللَّهُمَّ اجْعَلْهُ ٱلدَّاعِيَ إِلَىٰ كِتَابِكَ
O Allah, make him the caller to Your Book,
Ewe Allah, mfungue kuwa mtoaji wa wito wa Kitabu chako,
وَٱلْقَائِمَ بِدِينِكَ
And the enforcer of Your religion,
Na mtetezi wa dini Yako,
ٱسْتَخْلِفْهُ فِي ٱلأَرْضِ
Appoint him as Your deputy on earth,
Mchague kuwa msimamizi Yako duniani,
كَمَا ٱسْتَخْلَفْتَ ٱلَّذِينَ مِنْ قَبْلِهِ
As You appointed those before him,
Kama ulivyowaweka wale waliotangulia,
مَكِّنْ لَهُ دِينَهُ ٱلَّذِي ٱرْتَضَيْتَهُ لَهُ
Establish for him the religion You have chosen for him,
Mwimarishe dini Yake ambayo Umeikubali kwake,
أَبْدِلْهُ مِنْ بَعْدِ خَوْفِهِ أَمْناً
Replace his fear with security,
Badilisha hofu yake kuwa usalama,
يَعْبُدُكَ لاَ يُشْرِكُ بِكَ شَيْئاً
That he may worship You without associating anything with You,
Ili amtukuze Wewe bila kumshirikisha kitu chochote,
اَللَّهُمَّ أَعِزَّهُ وَأَعْزِزْ بِهِ
O Allah, honor him and honor by him,
Ewe Allah, mpe heshima na kwa kupitia kwake,
وَٱنْصُرْهُ وَٱنْتَصِرْ بِهِ
And grant him victory and victory through him,
Na mpe ushindi na kwa kupitia kwake,
وَٱنْصُرْهُ نَصْراً عَزِيزاً
And support him with a mighty help,
Na msaadie kwa nguvu isiyo na kifani,
وَٱفْتَحْ لَهُ فَتْحاً يَسِيراً
And open for him an easy victory,
Na mfungue ushindi rahisi,
وَٱجْعَلْ لَهُ مِنْ لَدُنْكَ سُلْطَاناً نَصِيراً
And grant him from Yourself a supportive authority,
Na mpe kutoka Kwako mamlaka yenye msaada,
اَللَّهُمَّ أَظْهِرْ بِهِ دِينَكَ وَسُنَّةَ نَبِيِّكَ
O Allah, manifest through him Your religion and the Sunnah of Your Prophet,
Ewe Allah, funua dini Yako na Sunnah ya Nabii wako kupitia kwake,
حَتَّىٰ لاَ يَسْتَخْفِيَ بِشَيْءٍ مِنَ ٱلْحَقِّ
Until nothing of the truth remains hidden,
Hadi hakuna cha kweli kitakachofichwa,
مَخَافَةَ أَحَدٍ مِنَ ٱلْخَلْقِ
Out of fear of anyone among the creation,
Kwa hofu ya mtu yeyote kati ya viumbe,
اَللَّهُمَّ إِنَّا نَرْغَبُ إِلَيْكَ فِي دَوْلَةٍ كَرِيمَةٍ
O Allah, we desire from You a noble state,
Ewe Allah, tunataka kutoka Kwako taifa la heshima,
تُعِزُّ بِهَا ٱلإِسْلاَمَ وَأَهْلَهُ
By which Islam and its people are honored,
Ambayo itaheshimu Uislamu na watu wake,
وَتُذِلُّ بِهَا ٱلنِّفَاقَ وَأَهْلَهُ
And by which hypocrisy and its people are humbled,
Na itadhoofisha nifaqi na watu wake,
وَتَجْعَلُنَا فِيهَا مِنَ ٱلدُّعَاةِ إِلَىٰ طَاعَتِكَ
And make us among the callers to Your obedience,
Na utufanye kuwa miongoni mwa wito wa kutii Amri Yako,
وَٱلْقَادَةِ إِلَىٰ سَبِيلِكَ
And leaders towards Your path,
Na viongozi kuelekea Njia Yako,
وَتَرْزُقُنَا بِهَا كَرَامَةَ ٱلدُّنْيَا وَٱلآخِرَةِ
And grant us through it honor in this world and the Hereafter,
Na utupe heshima katika dunia na Akhera kupitia kwake,
اَللَّهُمَّ مَا عَرَّفْتَنَا مِنَ ٱلْحَقِّ فَحَمِّلْنَاهُ
O Allah, whatever truth You have made us aware of, help us bear it,
Ewe Allah, chochote cha kweli Ulichotufahamisha, tusaidie kubeba,
وَمَا قَصُرْنَا عَنْهُ فَبَلِّغْنَاهُ
And whatever we have fallen short of, enable us to convey it,
Na chochote ambacho tumeshindwa kufikisha, utuwezeshe tukifike,
اَللَّهُمَّ ٱلْمُمْ بِه شَعَثَنَا
O Allah, unite our scattered affairs through it,
Ewe Allah, unganisha mambo yetu yaliyotawanyika kupitia kwake,
وَٱشْعَبْ بِهِ صَدْعَنَا
And mend our divisions through it,
Na ungalia mgawanyiko wetu kupitia kwake,
وَٱرْتُقْ بِهِ فَتْقَنَا
And strengthen our separations through it,
Na imarisha upungufu wetu kupitia kwake,
وَكَثِّرْ بِهِ قِلَّتَنَا
And increase our fewness through it,
Na ongeza wingi wetu kupitia kwake,
وَأَعْزِزْ بِهِ ذِلَّتَنَا
And honor our humility through it,
Na heshimu unyenyekevu wetu kupitia kwake,
وَأَغْنِ بِهِ عَائِلَنَا
And enrich our needy through it,
Na tajirisha wanyonge wetu kupitia kwake,
وَٱقْضِ بِهِ عَنْ مُغْرَمِنَا
And settle our debts through it,
Na lipa madeni yetu kupitia kwake,
وَٱجْبُرْ بِهِ فَقْرَنَا
And mend our poverty through it,
Na jenge umaskini wetu kupitia kwake,
وَسُدَّ بِهِ خَلَّتَنَا
And fill our gaps through it,
Na jaza mapengo yetu kupitia kwake,
وَيَسِّرْ بِهِ عُسْرَنَا
And ease our difficulties through it,
Na rahisisha shida zetu kupitia kwake,
وَبَيِّضْ بِهِ وُجُوهَنَا
And brighten our faces through it,
Na angaza nyuso zetu kupitia kwake,
وَفُكَّ بِهِ أَسْرَنَا
And free our captives through it,
Na huru wafungwa wetu kupitia kwake,
وَأَنْجِحْ بِهِ طَلِبَتَنَا
And make our requests successful through it,
Na fanikisha maombi yetu kupitia kwake,
وَأَنْجِزْ بِهِ مَوَاعِيدَنَا
And fulfill our appointments through it,
Na timiza miadi yetu kupitia kwake,
وَٱسْتَجِبْ بِهِ دَعْوَتَنَا
And answer our supplications through it,
Na jibu maombi yetu kupitia kwake,
وَاَعْطِنَا بِهِ سُؤْلَنَا،
And grant us our requests through it,
Na utupe maombi yetu kupitia kwake,
وَبَلِّغْنَا بِهِ مِنَ الدُّنْيَا وَالْاٰخِرَةِ اٰمَالَنَا،
And make us attain through it our hopes in this world and the Hereafter,
Na tufanikishe kupitia kwake matumaini yetu ya dunia na Akhera,
وَاَعْطِنَا بِهِ فَوْقَ رَغْبَتِنَا.
And give us more than our desire through it.
Na utupe zaidi ya matamanio yetu kupitia kwake.
يَا خَيْرَ الْمَسْؤُوْلِيْنَ،
O Best of those who are asked,
Ewe bora kati ya wanaoulizwa,
وَاَوْسَعَ الْمُعْطِيْنَ،
And most generous of those who give,
Na mwenye ukarimu mkubwa kati ya watoaji,
اِشْفِ بِهِ صُدُوْرَنَا،
Heal our breasts through it,
Ponya vifua vyetu kupitia kwake,
وَاَذْهِبْ بِهِ غَيْظَ قُلُوْبِنَا،
And remove the anger of our hearts through it,
Na uondoe hasira za mioyo yetu kupitia kwake,
وَاهْدِنَا بِهِ لِمَا اخْتُلِفَ فِيْهِ مِنَ الْحَقِّ بِاِذْنِكَ،
And guide us through it to the truth about which there is disagreement, by Your permission,
Na utuongoze kupitia kwake kwenye haki ambayo watu wamekhitalifiana, kwa idhini yako,
اِنَّكَ تَهْدِيْ مَنْ تَشَاۤءُ اِلٰى صِرَاطٍ مُسْتَقِيْمٍ،
Indeed, You guide whomsoever You will to a straight path,
Hakika Wewe humwongoza umtakaye kwenye njia iliyo nyooka,
وَانْصُرْنَا بِهِ عَلٰى عَدُوِّكَ وَعَدُوِّنَا
And grant us victory through it over Your enemy and our enemy,
Na utupe ushindi kupitia kwake dhidi ya adui yako na adui wetu,
اِلٰـهَ الْحَقِّ اٰمِيْنَ،
O True God, Amen.
Ewe Mungu wa kweli, Ameen.
اَللَّهُمَّ إِنَّا نَشْكُو إِلَيْكَ
O Allah, we complain to You,
Ewe Allah, tunakulalamikia,
فَقْدَ نَبِيِّنَا صَلَوَاتُكَ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ
The loss of our Prophet, Your blessings be upon him and his family,
Kutoweka kwa Nabii wetu, Baraka zako ziwe juu yake na familia yake,
وَغَيْبَةَ وَلِيِّنَا
And the absence of our Guardian,
Na kutokuwepo kwa Mlezi wetu,
وَكَثْرَةَ عَدُوِّنَا
And the multitude of our enemies,
Na wingi wa maadui wetu,
وَقِلَّةَ عَدَدِنَا
And the smallness of our numbers,
Na wingi mdogo wa idadi yetu,
وَشِدَّةَ ٱلْفِتَنِ بِنَا
And the intensity of trials upon us,
Na ukali wa fitina juu yetu,
وَتَظَاهُرَ ٱلزَّمَانِ عَلَيْنَا
And the collusion of time against us,
Na ushirikiano wa wakati dhidi yetu,
فَصَلِّ عَلَىٰ مُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِهِ
So bless Muhammad and his family,
Kwa hivyo bariki Muhammad na familia yake,
وَأَعِنَّا عَلَىٰ ذٰلِكَ بِفَتْحٍ مِنْكَ تُعَجِّلُهُ
And help us in that with a victory from You that You hasten,
Na tusaidie katika hiyo kwa ushindi kutoka Kwako unaoutuma kwa haraka,
وَبِضُرٍّ تَكْشِفُهُ
And with an affliction that You remove,
Na kwa dharura unayoitoa,
وَنَصْرٍ تُعِزُّهُ
And with a support that You honor,
Na kwa msaada unaoheshimu,
وَسُلْطَانِ حَقٍّ تُظْهِرُهُ
And with the authority of truth that You manifest,
Na kwa mamlaka ya kweli unayoionyesha,
وَرَحْمَةٍ مِنْكَ تُجَلِّلُنَاهَا
And with mercy from You that You envelop us with,
Na kwa rehema kutoka Kwako unayoitanda kwetu,
وَعَافِيَةٍ مِنْكَ تُلْبِسُنَاهَا
And with well-being from You that You clothe us with,
Na afya kutoka Kwako unayoitupa tunavikwa nayo,
بِرَحْمَتِكَ يَا أَرْحَمَ ٱلرَّاحِمِينَ
By Your mercy, O Most Merciful of the Merciful,
Kwa rehema Yako, Ewe Mwenye Rehema Zaidi wa Wote,
