DUA FOR THE 29TH NIGHT OF RAMADHAN
DUA YA USIKU WA TAREHE 29 RAMADHANI
يَا مُكَوِّرَ اللَّيْلِ عَلَى النَّهَارِ،
O You who turn the night into the day,
Ewe mwenye kuugeuza usiku kuwa mchana.
وَمُكَوِّرَ النَّهَارِ عَلَى اللَّيْلِ،
And he turns the day into the night,
Na anaufanya mchana kuwa usiku.
يَا عَلِيْمُ يَا حَكِيْمُ
O All-Knowing, O All-Wise
Ewe Mjuzi, Ewe Mwenye hikima
يَا رَبَّ الْاَرْبَابِ وَسَيِّدَ السَّادَاتِ،
O Lord of lords and Master of masters,
Ee Bwana wa mabwana na Bwana wa mabwana,
لَا اِلْهَ اِلَّا اَنْتَ
there is no god save You;
hapana mungu ila Wewe;
يَا اَقْرَبَ اِلَيَّ مِنْ حَبْلِ الْوَرِيْدِ،
O closer to me than my jugular vein,
Ewe karibu yangu kuliko mshipa wangu wa shingo,
يَا اَللهُ يَا اَللهُ يَا اَللهُ،
Oh God, oh God, oh God,
Ee Mungu, ee Mungu, ee Mungu,
لَكَ الْاَسْمَاءُ الْحُسْتى،
You have the most beautiful names,
Una majina mazuri zaidi,
وَالْاَمْثَالُ الْعُلْيَا،
And the highest proverbs,
Na methali za juu zaidi,
وَالْكِبْرِيَآءُ وَالْأَلَاءُ
And pride and honor
Na kiburi na heshima
آَسَاَلُكَ اَنْ تُصَلِّيَ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَألِ مُحَمَّدٍ،
I ask you to bless Muhammad and the family of Muhammad.
Ninakuomba umbariki Muhammad na familia ya Muhammad.
وَآَنْ تَجْعَلَ اسمِي فِيْ هَذِهِ اللَّيْلَةِ فِي السُّعَدَاءِ،
And that you make my name among the happy ones this night,
Na kwamba ulifanye jina langu kati ya wale walio na furaha usiku huu,
وَرُوْجِيْ مَعَ الشُّهَدَاءِ،
And be promoted with the martyrs,
Na upandishwe cheo pamoja na mashahidi.
وَاِحسَانِي فِيْ عِلَيِّيْنَ،
And my kindness in Aliyin,
Na wema wangu katika Aliyin,
وَاِسَاءَتِيْ مَغْفُوْرَةً،
And my offense is forgiven,
Na kosa langu limesamehewa,
وَاَنْ تَهَبَ لِي يَقِيْنًا تُبَاشِرُ بِهِ قَلْبِيْ،
And if you grant me certainty that will bring peace to my heart,
Na kama ukinipa yakini itakayoleta amani moyoni mwangu.
وَاِيْمَانًا يُذْهِبُ الشَّكِّ عَنِّيْ،
And a faith that removes doubt from me,
Ee Bwana, nimejidhulumu nafsi yangu
وَتُزِضِيَنِي بِمَا قَسَمْتَ لِيْ،
And You will reward me with what You have allotted for me,
Na utanilipa kwa yale uliyoniruzuku.
وَاتِنَا فِي الدُّنْيَا حَسَنَةَ
Caring for your rights and fulfilling your covenant and promise.
Na tumetupa mema katika dunia hii
وَفِي الْأَخِرَةِ حَسَنَةً،
And in the Hereafter it is good,
Na katika Akhera ni kheri.
وَقِنَا عَذَابَ النَّارِ الحَرِيْقِ،
Protect us from the torment of burning fire,
Utulinde na adhabu ya moto uwakao,
وَاززُقْنِيْ فِيْهَا ذِكْرَكَ وَشْكْرَكَ وَالرَّغْبَةَ اِلَيْكَ
And bless me with your remembrance and gratitude and longing for you.
Na unibariki kwa ukumbusho wako na shukrani na shauku kwako.
وَالْإِنَابَةَ وَالتَّوْبَةَ وَالتَّوْفِيْقَ لِمَا وَفَّقْتَ لَهُ مُحَمَّدًا وَألَ مُحَمَّدٍ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ
And repentance, repentance, and success in what You granted Muhammad and the family of Muhammad, may God bless him and grant him peace.
Na toba, na toba, na kufaulu katika yale uliyomruzuku Muhammad na Aali Muhammad, Mwenyezi Mungu amfikishie rehema na amani.
وَعَلَيْهِمُ السَّلَامُ.
And peace be upon them.
Na amani iwe juu yao.
