DUA FOR THE 28TH NIGHT OF RAMADHAN
DUA YA USIKU WA TAREHE 28 RAMADHANI
يَا خَازِنَ اللّيْلِ فِى الْهَوَآءِ،
O treasurer of the night in the air,
Ewe mweka hazina wa usiku angani,
وَخَازِنَ النُّوْرِ فِي السَّمَاءِ،
And the storehouse of light in heaven,
Na hazina ya nuru mbinguni,
وَمَانِعَ السَّمَاءِ اَنْ تَقَعَ عَلَى الْاَرْضِ اِلَّا بِإِذْنِهِ
And the sky prevents it from falling on the earth except with His permission.
Na mbingu inaizuia isianguke juu ya ardhi isipokuwa kwa idhini yake.
وَحَابِسَهُمَا اَنْ تَزُوْلًا،
And He prevented them from passing away,
Na akawazuia wasipite.
يَا عَلِيْمُ يَا عَظِيْمُ،
O All-Knowing, O Great,
Ewe Mjuzi, Ewe Mkuu,
يَا غَفُوْرُ يَا دَائِمُ،
O Forgiving, O Everlasting,
Ewe Mwenye kusamehe, ewe wa Milele,
يَا اَللهُ يَا وَارِثُ،
O God, O heir,
Ee Mungu, Ewe mrithi,
يَا بَاعِثَ مَنْ فِي الْقُبُوْرِ،
O Raiser of those in the graves,
Ewe Muumba wa walio makaburini,
يَا اَللهُ يَا اَللهُ يَا اَللهُ،
Oh God, oh God, oh God,
Ee Mungu, ee Mungu, ee Mungu,
لَكَ الْاَسْمَاءُ الْحُسْتَى،
You have the most beautiful names,
Una majina mazuri zaidi,
وَالاَمْثَالَ الْعُلْيَا،
And the highest examples,
Na mifano ya juu zaidi,
وَالكِبْرِيَآءُ وَالْألَاءُ،
And pride and honor,
Na kiburi na heshima,
اَساَلُكَ اَنْ تُصَلِّيَ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَأل مُحَمَّدٍ،
I ask you to bless Muhammad and the family of Muhammad,
Ninakuomba umbariki Muhammad na familia ya Muhammad,
وَآَنْ تَجْعَلَ اسمِي فِي هذِهِ اللَّيْلَةِ فِي السُّعَدَاءِ،
And that you make my name among the happy ones this night,
Na kwamba ulifanye jina langu kati ya wale walio na furaha usiku huu,
وَرُوْحِيْ مَعَ الشَّهَدَاءِ،
And my soul is with the martyrs,
Na roho yangu iko pamoja na mashahidi.
وَإِحْسَانِي فِي عِلَيِّيْنَ،
And my good deeds are in Aliyin,
Na mema yangu yamo katika Aliyin.
وَإِسَاءَتِي مَغْفُوْرَةً،
And my transgressions are forgiven,
Na dhambi zangu zimesamehewa.
وَآَنْ تَهَبَ لِيْ يَقِيْنًا تُبَاشِرُ بِهِ قَلْبِيْ
And if you give me certainty, you will fill my heart with it.
Na ukinipa yakini, utajaza moyo wangu nayo.
وَاِيْمَانًا يُذْهِبُ الشَّكَّ عَنِّيْ،
And a faith that removes doubt from me,
Na imani inayoniondolea shaka.
وَتُرْضِيَنِي بِمَا قَسَمْتَ لِيْ،
And please me with what you have apportioned for me,
Na niridhishe kwa yale uliyonigawia.
وَاتِنَا فِي الدُّنْيَا حَسَنَةَ
And We have given us good in this world
Na tumetupa mema katika dunia hii
وَفِي الْأَخِرَةِ حَسَنَةً
And in the afterlife it will be good
Na katika maisha ya baadaye itakuwa nzuri
وَقِنَا عَذَابَ النَّارِ الْحَرِيْقِ،
Protect us from the torment of burning fire,
Utulinde na adhabu ya moto uwakao,
وَاززُقنِيْ فِيْهَا ذِكْرَكَ وَشُكْرَكَ وَالرَّغْبَةَ اِليْكَ
And grant me the opportunity to remember You, to thank You, and to desire You.
Na nipe nafasi ya kukukumbuka Wewe, kukushukuru, na kukutamani Wewe.
وَالْاِنَابَةَ وَالتَّوْبَةَ وَالتَّوْفِيْقَ لِمَا وَفَّقْتَ لَهُ مُحَمَّدًا وَألَ مُحَمَّدٍ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ
And repentance, repentance, and success in what You granted Muhammad and the family of Muhammad, may God bless him and grant him peace.
Na toba, na toba, na kufaulu katika yale uliyomruzuku Muhammad na Aali Muhammad, Mwenyezi Mungu amfikishie rehema na amani.
وَعَلَيْهِمُ السَّلَامُ.
And peace be upon them.
Na amani iwe juu yao.
