DUA FOR THE 25TH NIGHT OF RAMADHAN
DUA YA USIKU WA TAREHE 25 RAMADHANI
يَا جَاعِلَ اللَّيْلِ لِبَاسًا،
O You who make the night a covering,
Ewe uliyeufanya usiku kuwa kifuniko.
وَالنَّهَارِ مَعَاشَا،
And the day is a living,
Na siku ni hai,
وَالاَرْضِ مِهَادًا،
And the earth is a resting place,
Na ardhi ni mahali pa kupumzika,
وَالْجِبَالِ اَوْتَادًا،
And the mountains are pegs,
Na milima ni vigingi,
يَا اَللهُ يَا قَاهِرُ،
O God, O Conqueror,
Ee Mungu, Ewe Mshindi,
يَا اَللهُ يَا جَبَّارٌ،
O God, O mighty one,
Ee Mungu, Ewe mwenye nguvu,
يَا اَللهُ يَا سَمِيْعُ،
O God, O Hearer,
Ee Mungu, Ewe Msikiaji,
يَا اَللهُ يَا قَرِيْبُ،
O God, O Nearby,
Ee Mungu, Ewe wa Karibu,
يَا اَللهُ يَا مُجِيْبُ،
O God, O Answerer,
Ee Mungu, Ewe Mjibu,
يَا اَللهُ يَا اَللهُ يَا اَللهُ،
Oh God, oh God, oh God,
Ee Mungu, ee Mungu, ee Mungu,
لَكَ الْاَسْمَاءُ الْحُسْتَى،
You have the most beautiful names,
Una majina mazuri zaidi,
وَالْاَمْثَالَ الْعُلْيَا،
And the highest examples,
Na mifano ya juu zaidi,
وَالكِبْرِيَاءُ وَالْأَلَاءُ،
And pride and honor,
Na kiburi na heshima,
اَساَلُكَ اَنْ تُصَلِّيَ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَأل مُحَمَّدٍ،
I ask you to bless Muhammad and the family of Muhammad,
Ninakuomba umbariki Muhammad na familia ya Muhammad,
وَاَنْ تَجْعَلَ اسْمِي فِيْ هَذِهِ اللَّيْلَةِ فِي السُّعَدَاءِ،
And make my name among the happy ones on this night,
Na ulifanye jina langu kuwa miongoni mwa walio na furaha usiku huu,
وَرُوْحِيْ مَعَ الشَّهَدَاءِ،
And my soul is with the martyrs,
Na roho yangu iko pamoja na mashahidi.
وَاِحسَانِيْ فِي عِلَيِّيْنَ،
And my kindness in Aliyin,
Na wema wangu katika Aliyin,
وَاِسَاءَتِيْ مَغْفُوْرَةً،
And my offense is forgiven,
Na kosa langu limesamehewa,
وَآَنْ تَهَبَ لِي يَقيْنًا تُبَاشِرُ بِهِ قَلْبِيْ،
And if you give me certainty that you will bring to my heart,
Na kama ukinipa yakini kwamba utanileta moyoni mwangu,
وَاِيْمَانًا يُذْهِبُ الشَّكَّ عَنَّيْ،
And a faith that removes doubt from me,
Na imani inayoniondolea shaka.
وَرِضَّى بِمَا قَسَمْتَ لِيْ،
And he was satisfied with what you had sworn to me.
Na aliridhika na ulichoniapia.
وَاتِنَا فِي الدُّنْيَا حَسَنَةَ
And We have given us good in this world
Na tumetupa mema katika dunia hii
وَفِي الْأَخِرَةِ حَسَنَةَ
And in the afterlife it will be good
Na katika maisha ya baadaye itakuwa nzuri
وَقِنَا عَذابَ النَّارِ الحَرِيْقِ،
Protect us from the torment of the burning Fire,
Utulinde na adhabu ya Moto mkali.
وَاززُقْنِي فِيْهَا ذِكْرَكَ وَشُكْرَكَ وَالرَّغْبَةَ اِلَيْكَ
And bless me with remembrance of You, gratitude to You, and desire for You.
Na nibariki kwa kukukumbuka Wewe, kukushukuru Wewe, na kukutamani Wewe.
وَالْاِنَابَةَ وَالتَّوْبَةَ وَالتَّوْفِيْقَ لِمَا وَفَّقْتَ لَهُ مُحَمَّدًا وَالَ مُحَمَّدٍ عَلَيْهِمُ السَّلَامُ.
And repentance, repentance, and success in what You granted Muhammad and his family, peace be upon them.
Na toba, na toba, na kufaulu katika yale uliyompa Muhammad na aali zake, amani iwe juu yao.
