AAMAL OF THE NIGHT OF ARAFAT THE ARAFAT NIGHT This blessed night is the night of praying for granting all requests. Repentance at this night is accepted, prayers

responded, and acts of worship and obedience achieve the reward of one hundred and seventy years of worship. The devotional acts at this night are as follows:

First: It is recommended to say the following supplicatory prayer. It is narrated that Almighty Allah will forgive one who says this supplicatory prayer at the 'Arafat Night or Friday nights:

DUA YA SHAHID

اَللَّهُمَّ يَا شَاهِدَ كُلِّ نَجْوْى

Oh God, the witness of all our secrets

وَ مَوْضِعَ كُلِّ شَكْوْى

And the subject of every complaint

وَ عَالِمَ كُلَّ خَفِيَّةٍ

And He knows all that is hidden

وَ مُثْتَهُى كُلِّ حَاجَةٍ

And the fulfillment of every need

يَا مُبْتَدِنًا بِالنَّعَمِ عَلَى الْعِبَادِ

O initiator of blessings upon the servants

يَا كَرِيْمَ الْعَفْوِ

O Generous in pardoning!

يَا حَسَنَ التَّجَاوُزِ

O Good in overlooking (sins)!

يَا جَوَادُ

Oh Jawad

يَا مَنْ لَا يُوَارِيْ مِنْهُ لَيْلْ دَاجٍ

O He who does not hide from Him the late night

وَ لَا بَخرْ عَجَّاجٌ

And there is no incense from Ajaj

وَ لَا سَمَآءُ ذَاتُ آَبْرَاج

And there is no sky with constellations

وَ لَا ظُلَمٌ ذَاتُ ارْتِتَاجٍ

And there is no injustice that trembles

يَا مَنِ الظَّلْمَةُ عِنْدَهُ ضِيَآءْ

O you who have darkness, you have light!

اَسْاَلُكَ بِنُوْرٍ وَجْهِكَ الْكَرِيْمِ

I ask you by the light of your generous face

الَّذِيْ تَجَلَّيْتَ بِهِ لِلْجَبَلِ فَجَعَلْتَهُ دَكًّا

With which You appeared to the mountain and caused it to be destroyed.

وَ خَرَّ مُؤْسى صَعِقًا

Musa fell down in shock

وَ بِاسْمِكَ الّذِيْ رَفَعْتَ بِهِ السَّمَاوَاتِ بِلَا عَمَدٍ

And forgive me on the Day of Judgment.

وَسَطَحَتَ بِهِ الْأَرْضَ عَلَى وَجْهِ مَاءِ جَمَدٍ

And with it you spread the earth on a surface of frozen water.

وَ بِاسْمِكَ الْمَخْزُوْنِ الْمَكْنُوْنِ

And in your name that is stored and hidden

الْمَكْتُوْبِ الطَّاهِرِ

The pure written

الَذِيَّ إِذَا دُعِيتَ بِهِ اَجَبْتَ

Which when you are called upon, you respond

وَ إِذَا سُئِلْتَ بِهِ اَعْطَيْتَ

And when you are asked for it, you will be given

وَ بِاسْمِكَ السُّبُّوْحِ الْقُدُّوْسِ الْبُرْهَانِ

And in Your name is the glory, the holy, the proof

الَّذِيْ هُوَ نُوْرٌ عَلَى كُلَّ نُوْرٍ

He who is light above all light

وَ نَوْرُ مِنْ نُوْرٍ

And light from light

بُضِيّءُ مِنْهُ كُلّ نُوْرٍ

All kinds of light shine from Him

اِذَا بَلَغَ الْأرْضَ انْشَقَّتْ

When it reaches the earth, it splits

وَ إِذَا بَلَغَ السَّمَاوَاتِ فُتِحَتْ

And when he reaches the heavens, they are opened

وَ اِذَا بَلَغَ الْعَرْشَ اهْتَزَّ

And when he reached the throne, he shook

وَ بِاسْمِكَ الَذِيْ تَرْتَعِدُ مِنْهُ فَرَائِصُ مَلائِكَتِكَ

And in your name from which the commands of your angels tremble.

وَ أَسْاَلَكَ بِحَقُّ جَبْرَئِيْلَ وَ مِيْكَائِيْلَ وَ اِسْرَافِيْلَ

And I ask you by the truth of Gabriel, Michael, and Israfil.

وَ بِحَقٌّ مُحَمَّدٍ اِلْمُصْطَفْى

And in the places of glory from your mercy

صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَ ألِهِ

May God’s prayers and peace be upon him and his family

وَ عَلَى جَمِيْعِ الْاَنْبِياءِ وَ جَمِيْعِ الْمَلَائِكَةِ

And upon all the prophets and all the angels

وَ بِالْإِسمِ الَّذِيْ مَشى بِهِ الْخِضْرُ عَلَى قُلَلِ الْمَاءِ

And by the name by which Al-Khidr walked on the water’s surface.

كَمَا مَشى بِهِ عَلَى جَدَدِ الْأَرْضِ

Just as he walked on the new earth

وَ بِاسْمِكَ الَّذِيْ فَلَقْتَ بِهِ البَخْرَ لِمُؤْسى

And in your name with which you spread incense for Moses

وَ اَغْرَقْتَ فِرْعَوْنَ وَ قَوْمَهُ

And you drowned Pharaoh and his people

وَ اَنْجَيْتَ بِهِ مُؤْسَى بْنَ عِمْرَانَ وَ مَنْ مَعَهُ

And you saved Musa bin Imran and those with him with him.

وَ بِاسْمِكَ الَّذِيْ دَعَاكَ بِهِ مُؤْسَى بْنُ عِمْرَانَ

And by your name by which Musa bin Imran called you

مِنْ جَانِبِ الطُوْرِ الْاَيْمَنِ،

From the right side of the stage,

فَاسْتَجَبْتَ لَهُ وَ الْقَيْتَ عَلَيْهِ

So you responded to him and attacked him

مَحَبَّةً مِنْكَ

For love from you

وَ بِاسْمِكَ الَّذِيْ بِهِ آَحِيَا عِيْسَى بْنُ مَرْيَمَ الْمَؤْثِى

And in your name by which Jesus, son of Mary, Al-Mu’athi was revived.

وَ تَكَلّمَ فِيْ الْمَهْدِ صَبِيَّا

And he spoke in the cradle as a child

وَ اَبْرَاَ الْاَكْمَهَ وَ الْاَبْرَصَ بِاِذْنِكَ

And heal the blind and the leper, with Your permission

وَ بِاسْمِكَ الَذِيْ دَعَاكَ بِهِ حَمَلَةُ عَرْشِكَ

And by your name by which the bearers of your throne have called you

وَ جَبْرَئِيْلُ وَ مِيْكَائِيْل وَ اِسْرَافِيْلَ

And Gabriel, and Michael, and Israfil

وَ حَبِيْبُكَ مُحَمَّدُ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَ ألِهِ

And your beloved Muhammad, may God bless him and his family

وَ مَلَائِكَثُكَ الْمُقَرَّبُوْنَ

And your close angels

وَ أَنْبِيَاؤُكَ الْمُرْسَلُوْنَ

And your messenged prophets

وَ عِبَادُكَ الصَالِحُوْنَ مِنْ اَهْلِ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَ الْاَرَضِيْنَ

And Your righteous servants are from the inhabitants of the heavens and the earth.

وَ بِاسْمِكَ الذِيْ دَعَاكَ بِهِ ذُوْ النُّوْنِ

And by your name by which Dhul-Nun called you

اِذْ ذَهَبَ مُغَاضِبًا فَظَنَّ اَنْ لَنْ نَقْدِرَ [تَقْدِرَ] عَلَيْهِ

When he went away angry, he thought that We would not prevail over him.

فَنَاذى فِي الظُلُمَاتِ اَنْ لَا اِلْهَ اِلَّا أَنْتَ سُبْحَانَكَ

So he called out in the darkness: There is no god but You, Glory be to You

إِنِّيِّ كُنْتُ مِنَ الظَّالِمِيْنَ

Indeed, I was one of the wrongdoers

فَاسْتَجَبْتَ لَهُ وَ نَجَيْتَهُ مِنَ الْغَمِّ

So you responded to him and saved him from the grief.

وَ كَذْلِكَ تُنْجِي [ننجِي] الْمُؤْمِنِيْنَ

And thus We save the believers.

وَ بِاسْمِكَ الْعَظِيمِ الَّذِيْ دَعَاكَ بِهِ دَاوُدُ

And by your great name by which David called you

وَ خَرَّ لَكَ سَاحِدًا فَغَفَزْتَ لَهُ ذَنْبَهُ،

Indeed, You are the Most High, the Greatest.

وَ بِاسْمِكَ الَّذِيْ دَعَتَكَ بِهِ اسِيَةُ امْرَآَةُ فِرْعَوْنَ

And by your name by which Asiya, Pharaoh's wife, called you.

اِذْ قَالَتْ رَبِّ ابْنِ لِيْ عِنْدَكَ بَيْتًا فِي الْجَنَّةِ

When she said, “My Lord, build for me a house with You in Paradise.”

وَ نَجَّنِيْ مِنْ فِزْعَوْنَ وَ عَمَلِهِ

And save me from Faz'un and his deeds

وَ نَجِّنِي مِنَ الْقَوْمِ الظَّالِمِيْنَ

And save me from the wrongdoing people

فَاسْتَجَبْتَ لَهَا دُعَاءَهَا

So you answered her prayer

وَ بِاسْمِكَ الَّذِيْ دَعَاكَ بِهِ آَيُوْبُ إِذْ حَلَّ بِهِ الْبَلَاءُ

And by your name by which Job called you when calamity befell him.

فَعَافَيْتَهُ وَ اتَّيْتَهُ اَهْلَهُ وَ مِثَلَهُمْ مَعَهُمْ

So I made him well and went to his family and the same with them.

رَحْمَةً مِنْ عِثْدِكَ وَ ذِكْرُى لِلْعَابِدِيْنَ

A mercy from Your covenant and a reminder to your worshippers.

وَ بِاسْمِكَ الَذِيْ دَعَاكَ بِهِ يَعْقُوْبُ

And by your name by which Jacob called you

فَرَدَذْتَ عَلَيْهِ بَصَرَهُ وَ قُرَّةَ عَيْنِهِ يُوْسُفَ وَ جَمَعْتَ شَمْلَهُ

You restored Joseph’s sight and the comfort of his eye, and reunited him.

وَ بِاسْمِكَ الَّذِيْ دَعَاكَ بِهِ سُلَيْمَانُ

And by your name by which Solomon called you

فَوَهَبْتَ لَهُ مُلْكًا لَا يَنْبَغِي لِاَحَدٍ مِنْ بَعْدِهِ

So you gave him a kingdom that no one after him should have.

اِنّكَ انْتَ الوَهَّابُ

You are the Bestower

وَ بِاسْمِكَ الَّذِيْ سَخِّرْتَ بِهِ الْبُرَاقَ لِمُحَمِّدٍ

And in your name with which you subjugated Al-Buraq to Muhammad

صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَ الِهِ وَ سَلَّمَ

May God’s prayers and peace be upon him and his family

اِذْ قَالَ تَعَالَى سُبْحَانَ الَّذِيَّ اَسْرُى بِعَبْدِهِ لَيْلًا

When God Almighty said, Glory be to Him who took His servant by night

مِنَ المَسْجِدِ الْحَرَامِ إِلَى الْمَسْجِدِ الْاَقْصى

From the Sacred Mosque to Al-Aqsa Mosque

وَ قَوْلَهُ: سُبَحَانَ الَذِيْ سَخَرَ لَنَا هَذَا وَ مَا كُنَّا لَهُ مُقْرِنِيْنَ

And His saying: Glory be to Him who has subjected this to us, and we were not worthy of it.

وَ إِنَّا اِلَى رَبِّنَا لَمُتْقَلِبُوْنَ

And to our Lord we do not turn.

وَ بِاسْمِكَ الَذِيْ تَنَزَّلَ بِهِ جَبْرَئِيْلُ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ

And in your name which Gabriel revealed to Muhammad

صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَ ألِهِ

May God’s prayers and peace be upon him and his family

وَ بِاسْمِكَ الَّذِيْ دَعَاكَ بِهِ أَدَمُ

And by your name by which Adam called you

فَغَفَرْتَ لَهُ ذَنْبَهُ وَ اَسْكَنْتَهُ جَنَّتَكَ

So You forgave him his sin and made him dwell in Your Paradise.

وَ اَسْاَلُكَ بِحَقَّ الْقُرْانِ الْعَظِيْمِ

And I ask you by the truth of the Great Qur’an

وَ بِحَقَّ مُحَمَّدٍ خَاتَمِ النَّبِيِّيْنَ

Indeed, Muhammad is the Seal of the Prophets

وَ بِحَقُّ اِبْرَاهِيْمَ

And by the right of Abraham

وَ بِحَقَّ فَضلِكَ يَوْمَ الْقَضَاءِ

By the truth of Your grace on the Day of Judgment

وَ بِحَقَّ الْمَوَازِيْنِ إِذَا نُصِبَثْ

And in the truth of the scales when we are steadfast

وَ الصُّحْفِ اِذَا نُشِرَتْ

And newspapers if they are published

وَ بِحَقُّ الْقَلَمِ وَ مَا جَزْى

And by the truth of the pen and what it rewards

وَ اللَوْحِ وَ مَا آَخْصى

Peace be upon you, martyr, son of a martyr.

وَ بِحَقُّ الْاِسمِ الَّذِيْ كَتَبْتَهُ عَلَى سُرَادِقِ الْعَرْشِ

And by the name that you wrote on the curtain of the throne

قَبْلَ خَلْقِكَ الْخَلْقَ وَ الدُّنْيَا

Before you created the creation and the world

وَ الشَّمْسَ وَ الْقَمَرَ بِالْفَيِ عَامٍ

And the sun and the moon for two thousand years

وَ اَشْهَدُ اَنْ لَا اِلْهَ اِلَّا اللهُ

And I bear witness that there is no god but Allah

وَخْدَهُ لَا شَرِيْكَ لهُ

And He has no partner

وَ اَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا عَبْدُهُ وَ رَسُوْلُهُ،

And that Muhammad is His servant and Messenger,

وَ أَسْاَلَكَ بِاسْمِكَ الْمَخْزُوْنِ فِيْ خَزَآئِنِكَ

And I ask you by your name that is stored in your treasures

الَّذِي اسْتَأثَرْتَ بِهِ فِيْ عِلْمِ الْغَيْبِ عِنْدَكَ

Which you have influenced in your knowledge of the unseen.

لَمْ يَظْهَرْ عَلَيْهِ اَحَدٌ مِنْ خَلْقِكَ

No one of your creation has prevailed over him.

لَا مَلَكٌ مُقَرَّبٌ

There is no close angel

وَ لَا نَبِيُّ مُرْسَلَ

And there is no prophet sent

وَ لَا عَبْدٌ مُصطَفَّى

Nor Abdul Mustafa

وَ اَسْاَلُكَ بِاسْمِكَ الَّذِيْ شَقَقْتَ بِهِ الْبِحَارَ

And I ask you by your name by which you divided the seas

وَ قَامَتْ بِهِ الْجِبَالُ

And the mountains rose up against him

وَ اخْتَلَفَ بِهِ اللَّيْلُ وَ النَّهَارُ

And the night and the day differed by it

وَ بِحَقُّ السَّبْعِ الْمَثَانِي وَ الْقُرْانِ الْعَظِيمِ

And by the right of the Seven Repeated Verses and the Great Qur’an

وَ بِحَقَّ الْكِرَامِ الْكَاتِبِيْنَ

And by the right of the honorable writers

وَ بِحَقَّ طهُ وَ يُس وَ كَهُيْعَصَ

And in the right of Taha, Yassin, and Kahayaz

وَ حمَعَسَقَ

And Hamasq

وَ بِحَقَّ تَوْرَاةٍ مُؤْسى

And in the truth of the Torah, it is unfortunate

وَ اِنْجِيْلِ عِيْسى

And the Gospel of Jesus

وَ زَبُوْرِ دَاوُدَ

And the Zabur of David

وَ فَرْقَانٍ مُحَمَّدِ

And Furqan Muhammad

صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَ الِهِ

May God’s prayers and peace be upon him and his family

وَ عَلَى جَمِيْعِ الرُّسُلِ وَ بَاهِيَّا شَرَاهِيَّا

And upon all the messengers, and glorious and gracious.

اَللَّهُمّ إِنَّيّ آَساَلُكَ بِحَقُّ تِلْكَ الْمُنَاجَاةِ

Oh God, I ask you for the truth of this monologue.

الَتِيْ كَانَتْ بَيْنَكَ وَ بَيْنَ مُؤْسى بْنِ عِمْرَانَ

That was between you and Musa bin Imran

فَوْقَ جَبَلِ طُوْرِ سَيْنَاءَ،

Above Mount Tur Sinai,

وَ أَسْأَلُكَ بِاسْمِكَ الَّذِي عَلَّمْتَهُ مَلَكَ الْمَوْتِ لِقَبْضِ الْأَرْوَاحِ

And I ask you in your name that you taught the angel of death to take souls.

وَ اَسْاَلُكَ بِاسْمِكَ الَّذِي كُتِبَ عَلَى وَرَقِ الزَّيْثُوْنِ

And I ask you in your name that was written on the olive leaf.

فَخَضَعَتِ النَّيْرَانُ لِتِلْكَ الْوَرَقَةِ

Then the fire engulfed that paper.

فَقُلْتَ يَا نَارُ كُوْنِيْ بَزْدًا وَ سَلامًا

Then you said, O Fire, be strong and in peace.

وَ اَساَلُكَ بِاسْمِكَ الَّذِيْ كَتَبْتَهُ عَلَى سُرَادِقِ الْمَجْدِ وَ الْكَرَامَةِ

And I ask you by your name which you wrote on the pavilions of glory and honor.

يَا مَنْ لَا يُخْفِيْهِ سَآئِلْ

O He who is not hidden by a questioner

وَ لَا يَنْقُصُهُ نَآئِلْ

And Nael does not lack it

يَا مَنْ بِهِ يُسْتَغَاتُ وَ اِلَيْهِ يُلْجَأُ

O He to whom help is sought and to whom refuge is sought

آَسْاَلَكَ بِمَعَاقِدِ الْعِزِّ مِنْ عَرْشِكَ

I ask you for the glory of your throne

وَ مُنْتَهَى الرَّحْمَةِ مِنْ كِتَابِكَ

And the utmost mercy in your book

وَ بِاسْمِكَ الْاَعْظَمِ

And in your greatest name

وَ جَدِّكَ الْاَعْلَى

And your greatest grandfather

وَ كَلِمَاتِكَ الثَّآمَاتِ الْعُلَى

And your words are the highest sins

اَللَّهُمَّ رَبَّ الرِّيَاحِ وَما ذَرَث

Oh God, Lord of the winds and what they scatter

وَ السَّمَاءِ وَ مَآ اَظَلَّتْ

And the sky and what it shades

وَ الْأَرْضِ وَ مَا اَقَلَّتْ

And the earth and what it lacks

وَ الشَّيَاطِيْنِ وَ مَا اَضَلَّتْ

And the devils and what they have led astray

وَ الْبِحَارِ وَ مَا جَرَثْ

And the seas and what they create

وَ بِحَقَّ كُلِّ حَقُّ هُوَ عَلَيْكَ حَقٌّ،

And I gave birth and he gave birth to me

وَ بِحَقَّ الْمَلَائِكَةِ الْمُقَرِّبِيْنَ

And by the rights of the angels who are brought near

وَ الرُّوْحَانِيِّيْنَ وَ الكَرُوْبِيِّيْنَ

And the spiritualists and the cherubim

وَ الْمُسَبَّحِيْنَ لَكَ بِاللَّيْلِ وَ النَّهَارِ لَا يَفْتُرُوْنَ

And those who glorify You day and night do not desist.

وَ بِحَقَّ اِبْرَاهِيْمَ خَلِيْلِكَ

By the name of Ibrahim, your friend

وَ بِحَقُّ كُلِّ وَلِيِّ يُنَادِيْكَ بَيْنَ الصَّفَا وَ الْمَزْوَةِ

And by the right of every saint who calls you between Safa and the Mizwa

وَتَسْتَجِيْبُ لَهُ دُعَاءَهُ

And his prayers are answered

يَا مُجِيْبُ اَسْآَلُكَ بِحَقُّ هَذِهِ الْاَسْمَاءِ وَ بِهِذِهِ الدَّعَوَاتِ

O responder, I ask you for the sake of these names and these supplications.

آَنْ تَغْفِرَ لَنَا مَا قَدَّمْنَا وَ مَا اَخَرْنَا

That You forgive us for what we have done before and what we have left behind.

وَ مَا اَسْرَرْنَا وَ مَا آَعْلَنًا

We have not concealed it and we have not declared it

وَ مَآ اَبْدَيْنَا وَ مَا اَخْفَيْنَا

We have not revealed it, nor have We concealed it

وَ مَا أَنْتَ اَعْلَمُ بِهِ مِنَّا

And you do not know it better than we do

اِنَّكَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيْرٌ

Indeed, You are over all things competent.

بِرَحْمَتِكَ يَآ اَرْحَمَ الرَّاحِمِيْنَ

By your mercy, O Most Merciful of the merciful

يَا حَافِظَ كُلِّ غَرِيْبٍ

O protector of every stranger

يَا مُؤْنِس كُلّ وَحِيْدٍ

O sociable person of every single person

يَا قُوَةَ كُلِّ ضَعِيْفِ

O strength of all the weak

يَا نَاصِرَ كُلَّ مَظْلُوْمِ

O supporter of all the oppressed

يَا رَازِقَ كُلِّ مَخرُوْمِ

O Provider of every deprived person

يَا مُؤْنِسَ كُلِّ مُسْتَوْحِشٍ

O comforter of every desolate person

يَا صَاحِبَ كُلِّ مُسَافِرٍ

O companion of every traveler

يَا عِمَادَ كُلِّ حَاضِرٍ

O pillar of everyone present

يَا غَافِرَ كُلِّ ذَنْبٍ وَ خَطِيْئَةٍ

O Forgiver of every sin and sin!

يَا غِيَاثَ الْمُسْتَغِيْثِيْنَ

O Helper of those who seek aid!

يَا صَرِيْخَ الْمُسْتَصْرِخِيْنَ

Oh, the screaming ones!

يَا كَاشِفَ كَرْبِ الْمَكْرُوْبِيْنَ،

O Revealer of the distress of the distressed,

يَا فَارِجَ هَمّ الْمَهْمُوْمِيْنَ

Oh, the relief of those who are concerned

يَا بَدِيْعَ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَ الْاَرَضِيْنَ

O Creator of the heavens and the earths

يَا مُنْتَهِى غَايَةِ الطَّالِبِيْنَ

And praise be to God

يَا مُجِيْبَ دَعْوَةِ الْمُضْطَرِّيْنَ

O He Who responds to the prayer of the distressed ones!

يَآ أَرْحَمَ الرَّاحِمِيْنَ

O most merciful of all those who show mercy!

يَا رَبَّ الْعَالَمِيْنَ

O Lord of the worlds!

يَا دَيَّانَ يَوْمِ الدِّيْنِ

O Judge of the Day of Judgment

يَآ اَجْوَدَ الْاَجْوَدِيْنَ

O the best of the best

يَا اكْرَمَ الاكْرَمِيْنَ

O most Generous of all those who show generosity!

يَآ اَسْمَعَ السَّامِعِيْنَ

O most Hearing of all those who can hear!

يَآ أَبْصَرَ النَّاظِرِيْنَ

O best Seer of all those who can see!

يَآ اَقْدَرَ الْقَادِرِيْنَ

O Most Powerful of those who are able

اغْفِزْ لِيَ الذَّنُوْبَ الّتِيْ تُغَيِّرُ النَّعَمَ

Forgive me the sins that change the blessings

وَ اغْفِرْ لِيَ الذَّنُوبَ الَتِي تُوْرِتُ النَّدَمَ

And the seekers asked you, and I asked you

وَ اغْفِرْ لِيَ الذُّنُوْبَ الَّتِي تُوْرِتُ السَّقَمَ

And forgive me the sins that caused sickness

وَ اغْفِزْ لِيَ الذُّنُوْبَ الَّتِيِ تَهْتِكُ الْعِصَّمَ

And forgive me the sins that destroy my integrity.

وَ اغْفِرْ لِيَ الذُّنُوْبَ الَتِيْ تَرُدُّ الدُّعَآءَ

And forgive me the sins that reject supplication

وَ اغْفِرْ لِيَ الذُّنُوْبَ الَّتِي تَخْبِسُ قَظْرَ السَّمَاءِ

And forgive me the sins that close the depths of the sky

وَ اغْفِرْ لِيَ الذُّنُوْبَ الَّتِيْ تُعَجَلُ الْفَنَآءَ

And forgive me the sins that hasten my annihilation.

وَ اغْفِرْ لِيَ الذُّنُوْبَ الَّتِي تَجْلِبُ الشَّقَاءَ،

And forgive me the sins that bring misery,

وَ اغْفِرْ لِيَ الذُّنُوْبَ الَّتِي تُظْلِمُ الْهَوَآءَ

And forgive me the sins that oppress the air.

وَ اغْفِرْ لِيَ الذُّنُوْبَ الَتِيْ تَكْشِفُ الْغِطَآءَ

And forgive me the sins that reveal the cover

وَ اغْفِزْ لِيَ الذَّنُوْبَ الَّتِيْ لَا يَغْفِرُهَا غَيْرُكَ يَا اَللهُ

And forgive me the sins that no one else can forgive, O God.

وَ احمِلْ عَنِّي كُلَّ تَبِعَةٍ لاحَدٍ مِنْ خَلْقِكَ

And bear from me every burden of any of Your creation.

وَ اجْعَلْ لِيْ مِنْ اَمْرِيْ فَرَجًا وَ مَخْرَجًا وَ يُسْرًا

And make my affairs a relief, a way out, and ease.

وَ اَنْزِلَ يَقِيْنَكَ فِيْ صَدْرِيْ

And put your certainty in my chest

وَ رَجَاءَكَ فِيْ قَلْبِيْ حَتّى لَا أَرْجُوَ غَيْرَكَ

And I hope for you in my heart so that I do not hope for anyone but you.

اَللَّهُمَّ احْفَظْنِي وَ عَافِنِي فِيْ مَقَامِي

Oh God, protect me and keep me safe in my position.

وَ اصْحَبْنِي فِيْ لَيْلِيْ وَ نَهَارِيْ

And accompany me day and night

وَ مِنْ بَيْنِ يَدَيَّ وَ مِنْ خَلْفِيْ

And in front of me and behind me

وَ عَنْ يَمِيْنِيْ وَ عَنْ شِمَالِيْ

And on my right and on my left

وَ مِنْ فَوْقِيْ وَ مِنْ تَحْتِيْ

And from above me and from below me

وَ يَسَّرْ لِيَ السَّبِيْلَ

And make the way easy for me

وَ اَخسِنْ لِيَ التَّيْسِيْرَ

And make things easy for me

وَ لَا تَخْذُلْنِي فِي الْعَسِيْرِ

And do not let me down in difficult times

وَ اهْدِنِيْ يَا خَيْرَ دَلِيْل،

And guide me, O best guide.

وَ لَا تَكِلْنِيْ إِلَى نَفْسِيْ فِيِ الْأُمُوْرِ

And do not leave me to myself in matters.

وَ لَقَّنِي كُلّ سُرُوْرٍ

And he taught me every pleasure

وَ اقْلِبْنِيّ اِلَى آَهْلِيْ بِالْفَلَاحِ وَ النَّجَاحِ

And bring me happiness and success to my family

مَخْبُوْرًا فِي الْعَاجِلِ وَ الْأَجِلِ

Hidden in the immediate and the term

إِنَّكَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيْرٌ

Indeed, You have power over all things

وَ اززُقْنِيْ مِنْ فَضْلِكَ

And save me, please

وَ اَوْسِغ عَلَيَّ مِنْ طَيِّبَاتٍ رِزْقِكَ

And bestow upon me the good things of Your provision

وَ اسْتَعْمِلْنِي فِيْ طَاعَتِكَ

And use me in your obedience

وَ اَجِزْنِي مِنْ عَذَابِكَ وَ نَارِكَ

And save me from your torment and your fire

وَ اقْلِيْنِي اِذَا تَوَفِّيْتَنِيّ إِلَى جَنَّتِكَ بِرَحْمَتِكَ

And tell me when you take me to your Paradise by your mercy

اَللَّهُمَّ إِنَّي آَعُوْذُ بِكَ مِنْ زَوَالِ نِعْمَتِكَ

Oh God, I seek refuge in You from the disappearance of Your grace

وَ مِنْ تَحْوِيْلِ عَافِيَتِكَ

And from improving your health

وَ مِنْ حُلُوْل نَقِمَتِكَ

And from the coming of your vengeance

وَ مِنْ نَزُوْلِ عَذَابِكَ

And from the descent of your torment

وَ اَعُوْذُ بِكَ مِنْ جَهْدِ الْبَلَآءِ

And I seek refuge in You from the hardship of affliction.

وَ دَرَكِ الشَّقَاءِ

And the end of misery

وَ مِنْ سُوَّءِ الْقَضَاءِ

And from bad judgment

وَ شَمَاتَةِ الاَعْدَاءِ

And the gloating of enemies

وَ مِنْ شَرِّ مَا يَنْزِلُ مِنَ السَّمَآءِ

And from the evil that descends from the sky

وَ مِنْ شَرِّ مَا فِي الْكِتَابِ الْمُنْزَلِ

And from the evil of what is in the revealed Book

اَللَّهُمّ لَا تَجْعَلْنِي مِنَ الْأَشرَارِ

Oh God, do not make me among the evil people

وَ لَا مِنْ اَصحَابِ النَّارِ،

Nor from the companions of Hell,

وَ لَا تَخْرِمْنِيْ صُحْبَةَ الْاَخْيَارِ

And bless Muhammad and the family of Muhammad

وَ اَخيِنِيْ حَيَاةً طَيِّبَةً

And give me a good life

وَ تَوَفَّنِي وَفَاةً طَيِّبَةً تُلْحِقُنِي بِالْاَبْرَارِ

And give me a good death that will join me with the righteous.

وَ ازْزُقْنِيْ مُرَافَقَةَ الأَنْبِيَاءِ

And I am blessed by the company of the prophets.

فِيْ مَقْعَدِ صِدْقٍ عِنْدَ مَلِيْكِ مُقْتَدِرٍ

In a seat of truth in the presence of a powerful angel

اَللَّهُمّ لَكَ الْحَمْدُ عَلَى حُسْنٍ بَلَائِكَ وَ صُثِعِكَ

O God, praise be to You for Your good affliction and hardship.

وَ لَكَ الْحَمْدُ عَلَى الْإِسْلَامِ وَ انَّبَاعِ السُّنَّةِ

Praise be to you for Islam and the origin of the Sunnah.

يَا رَبّ كَمَا هَدَيْتَهُمْ لِدِيْنِكَ

O Lord, just as you have guided them to your religion

وَ عَلَّمْتَهُمْ كِتَابَكَ فَاهْدِنَا وَ عَلَّمْنَا

And you taught them your book, so guide us and teach us

وَ لَكَ الْحَمْدُ عَلَى حُسْنِ بَلَائِكَ وَ صُنْعِكَ عِثْدِيْ خَاصَّةً

Praise be to you for your good test and your deeds, my pledge in particular.

كَمَا خَلَقْتَنِي فَاحْسَئُتَ خَلْقِيْ

Just as You created me, You have done well with my creation

وَ عَلَمْتَنِي فَاحْسَنْتَ تَعْلِيْمِيْ

And you taught me and taught me well

وَ هَدَيْتَنِي فَاَحْسَنْتَ هِدَايَتِيْ

And you guided me, and you guided me well.

فَلَكَ الْحَمْدُ عَلْى اِنْعَامِكَ عَلَيَّ قَدِيْمًا وَ حَدِيْثًا

Praise be to you for your blessings upon me, past and present.

فَكَمْ مِنْ كَرْبِ يَا سَيَّدِيْ قَدْ فَرَّجْتَهُ

And I was exposed to your generosity

وَ كَمْ مِنْ غَمِّ يَا سَيِّدِيْ قَدْ نَفَّسْتَهُ

How much grief, my lord, have you caused?

وَ كَمْ مِنْ هَمِّ يَا سَيِّدِيْ قَدْ كَشَفْتَهُ

And how many worries, my lord, have you uncovered?

وَ كَمْ مِنْ بَلَآءِ يَا سَيِّدِيْ قَدْ صَرَفْتَهُ

And how many calamities, my lord, have you dealt with?

وَ كَمْ مِنْ عَيْبٍ يَا سَيِّدِيْ قَدْ سَتَرْتَهُ،

And how many faults, my lord, have you covered?

فَلَكَ الْحَمْدُ عَلَى كُلِّ حَالِ

Praise be to You in every situation

فِيْ كُلِّ مَثْوَّى وَ زَمَانٍ

In every place and time

وَ مُتْقَلَبِ وَ مَقَامٍ

And shifting and standing

وَ عَلَى هَذِهِ الْحَالِ وَ كُلِّ حَالٍ

In this case and in every situation

اَللَّهُمَّ اجْعَلْنِي مِنْ اَفْضَلٍ عِبَادِكَ نَصِيْبًا

God willing

فِي هَذَا الْيَوْمِ مِنْ خَيْرٍ تَقْسِمُهُ

On this day of goodness that you divide

آَوْ ضُرِّ تَكْشِفُهُ

Or harm you uncover

اَوْ سُوَّءِ تَصْرِفُهُ

Or his bad behavior

اَوْ بَلَاءِ تَدْفَعُهُ

Or an affliction that you repel

اَوْ خَيْرٍ تَسُوْقُهُ

Or the best you can drive

اَوْ رَحْمَةٍ تَنْشُرُهَا

Or mercy you spread

اَوْ عَافِيَةٍ ثُلْبِسُهَا

Or the health of her clothes

فَاِنَّكَ عَلَى كُلَّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيْرٌ

For You have power over all things

وَ بِيَدِكَ خَزَآئِنُ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَ الْاَرْضِ

And in your hand are the treasures of the heavens and the earth

وَ أَنْتَ الْوَاجِدُ الْكَرِيْمُ الْمُعْطِيْ

And You are the Provider, the Generous, the Giver

الَذِيْ لَا يُرَدُّ سَآئِلْهُ

And for you on this night are blessings and rewards.

وَ لَا يُخَيَّبُ أمِلُهُ

And he will not be disappointed

وَ لَا يَنْقُصُ نَائِلُهُ

And his reward will not be diminished

وَ لَا يَنْفَدُ مَا عِنْدَهُ

He never runs out of what he has

بَلْ يَزْدَادُ كَثْرَةً وَ طِيْبًا

Rather, it increases in abundance and goodness

وَ عَطَاءً وَ جُوْدًا

And giving and generosity

وَ ازْزُقْنِي مِنْ خَزَاآئِنِكَ الَتِيْ لَا تَفْتَى

And save me from Your unfathomable treasures.

وَ مِنْ رَحْمَتِكَ الْوَاسِعَةِ

If you are, my friend

اِنَّ عَطَاءَكَ لَمْ يَكُنْ مَخْظُوْرًا

Your giving was not shameful.

وَ أَنْتَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءِ قَدِيْرٌ

And You have power over all things

بِرَحْمَتِكَ يَا اَرْحَمَ الرَّاحِمِيْنَ.

By your mercy, O Most Merciful of the merciful.

وَ اَعَدَّ وَ اسْتَعَدَّ

لِوِفَادَةٍ إِلَى مَخْلُوْقٍ

To return to a created being

رَجَاءَ رِفْدِهِ

Please support him

وَ طَلَبَ نَائِلِهِ وَ جَائِزَتِهِ

He asked for his reward and reward

فَاِلَيْكَ يَا رَبَّ تَعْبِيَتِي وَ اسْتِعْدَادِيْ

To You, O Lord, is my toil and my preparation.

رَجَاءَ عَفْوِكَ

Please forgive me

وَ طَلَبَ نَائِلِكَ وَ جَائِزَتِكَ

And he asked for your success and your reward

فَلَا تُخَيِّبْ دُعَائِي

Do not disappoint my prayers

يَا مَنْ لَا يَخِيْبُ عَلَيْهِ سَائِلٌ [السَّائِلُ]

O He upon whom no one who asks is disappointed.

وَ لَا يَنْقُصُهُ نَائِلٌ

And no one will lack it

فَاِنِّيْ لَمْ أَتِكَ ثِقَةً بِعَمَلٍ صَالِحٍ عَمِلْتُهُ

For I have not come to you confident of a good deed that you have done.

وَ لَا لِوِفَادَةٍ مَخْلُوْقٍ رَجَوْتُهُ

Nor for the return of any creature that I had hoped for.

أَتَيْثُكَ مُقِرًّا عَلَى نَفْسِي بِالْإِسَاءَةِ وَ الظُّلْمِ،

I come to you, acknowledging my abuse and injustice,

مُعْتَرِفًا بِآَنْ لَا حُجَةَ لِيْ وَ لَا عُذْرَ

Acknowledging that I have no excuse and no excuse.

آَتَيْتُكَ اَرْجُو عَظِيمَ عَفُوِكَ

I came to you hoping for your great forgiveness

الَّذِيْ عَفَوْتَ [عَلَوْتَ] بِهِ [عَلى] عَنِ الْخَاطِئِيْنَ [الْخَطَائِيْنَ]

With which You have pardoned [their sins] on behalf of the sinners [the sinners]

فَلَمْ يَمْنَعِكَ طُوْلُ عُكُوْفِهِمْ عَلَى عَظِيْمِ الْجُزْمِ

The length of their shoulders did not prevent you from being very decisive.

آَنْ عُدْتَ عَلَيْهِمْ بِالرَّحْمَةِ

If you show mercy to them

فَيَا مَنْ رَحْمَتُهُ وَاسِعَةٌ

O He whose mercy is vast

وَ عَفْوُهُ عَظِيْهٌ

And his forgiveness is a reward

يَا عَظِيْمُ يَا عَظِيْمُ يَا عَظِيْمُ

Oh great, oh great, oh great

لَا يَرُدُّ غَضَبَكَ اِلَّا حِلْمُكَ

Nothing can counteract your anger except your forbearance

وَ لَا يُنجِيْ مِنْ سَخَطِكَ اِلَّا التَّضَرُّعُ اِلَيْكَ

Nothing can be saved from Your wrath except by supplication to You.

فَهَبْ لِيْ يَا اِلْهِيْ فَرَجًا

And my effort and my supplication

بِالْقُدْرَةِ الَتِيْ تَخْيِيْ بِهَا مَيْتَ الْبِلَادِ،

With the power with which you betray the death of the country,

وَ لَا تُهْلِكْنِي غَمَّا حَثَّى تَسْتَجِيْبَ لِيْ

And do not destroy me unless you respond to me.

وَ تُعَرَّفَنِي الْإِجَابَةَ فِي دُعَآئِي

And I know the answer to my prayers

وَ اَذِقْنِي طَعَمَ الْعَافِيَةِ اِلْى مُنْتَهَى آَجَلِيْ

And give me the taste of well-being for the rest of my life.

وَ لا تُشمِثْ بِي عَدُوِّيْ

And do not make my enemy gloat over me

وَ لَا تُسَلَّظهُ عَلَيَّ

And do not impose it on me

وَ لَا تُمَكِّنْهُ مِنْ عُنْقِيْ

And do not let him around my neck

اَللّهُمّ [الْهِيْ] إِنْ وَضَعْتَنِي فَمَنْ ذَا الَّذِيْ يَرْفَعِنِي

Oh God, if You put me down, who is there that can lift me up?

وَ إِنْ رَفَعْتَنِيْ فَمَنْ ذَا الَّذِيْ يَضَعْنِيْ

And if you exalt me, who is the one who will lower me?

وَ إِنْ اَهْلَكْتَنِن فَمَنْ ذَا الَّذِيْ يَعْرِضُ لَكَ فِي عَبْدِكَ

And if You destroy them, who is it that will appear before you regarding Your servant?

أَوْ يَسْاَلَكَ عَنْ اَمْرِهِ،

Or he asks you about his matter,

وَ قَدْ عَلِمْتُ آَنَّهُ لَيْسَ فِي حُكْمِكَ ظُلْمٌ

And I know that there is no injustice in your ruling.

وَلَا فِي نَقِمَتِكَ عَجَلَةُ

There is no haste in Your vengeance

وَ اِنَّمَا يَعْجَلُ مَنْ يَخَافُ الْفَوْتَ

And only he who fears missing out hastens.

وَ اِنَّمَا يَختَاجُ إِلَى الظُّلْمِ الضَّعِيْفُ

And he only seeks oppression of the weak.

وَ قَدْ تَعَالَيْتَ يَآ اِلْهِيْ عَنْ ذَلِكَ عُلُوًا كَبِيرًا

O my God, You are greatly exalted above that.

اَللَّهُمَّ إِنَّي آَعُوْذُ بِكَ فَاعِذْنِيْ

Oh God, I seek refuge in You, so help me

وَ اَسْتَجِيْرُ بِكَ فَاجِزْنِيْ

And I seek refuge in You, so reward me

وَ اَسْتَرْزِقُكَ فَارْزُقْنِيْ

And I ask you for sustenance, so provide for me

وَ اَتَوَكِّلُ عَلَيْكَ فَاكْفِنِيْ

And I trust in You, so be sufficient for me

وَ اَسْتَنْصِرُكَ عَلَى عَدُوِّيْ [عَدُوَّكَ] فَانْصُرْنِي

And I ask you to help me against my enemy [your enemy], so support me.

وَ اَسْتَعِيْنُ بِكَ فَاعِنَّيْ

And I seek your help, so help me

وَ اَسْتَغْفِرُكَ يَا اِلْهِيْ فَاغْفِرْ لِيْ

And I ask Your forgiveness, O my God, so forgive me

أمِيْنَ أمِيْنَ أمِيْنَ.

Amen, Amen, Amen.
