27TH NIGHT OF RAMADAN According to narrations, it is recommended to bathe oneself at the twenty-seventh night of Ramadan. It has been also narrated that Imam Ali ibn al-Husayn Zayn al-'Abidin (a.s.)
USIKU 27 WA RAMADHANI Kwa mujibu wa riwaya, inapendekezwa kuoga usiku wa ishirini na saba wa Ramadhani. Imepokewa pia kwamba Imam Ali ibn al-Husayn Zayn al-'Abidin (a.s.)
Instructions
used to repeat the following supplicatory prayer throughout this night:
walikuwa wakirudia sala ifuatayo ya dua katika usiku huu wote:
اَللّهُمَّ اززُقْنِي التَّجَافِي عَنْ دَارِ الْغُرُوْرِ،
Oh God, protect me from the abode of deceit,
Ee Mungu, nilinde na makao ya udanganyifu,
وَالْإِنَابَةَ إِلَى دَارِ الْخُلُوْدِ
And delegation to the abode of eternity
Na uwakilishi kwenye makao ya milele
وَالاِسْتِعْدَادَ لِلْمَوْتِ قَبْلَ حُلُوْلِ الْفَوْتِ.
And preparing for death before death comes.
Na kujiandaa kwa kifo kabla ya kifo.

DUA FOR THE 27TH NIGHT OF RAMADHAN
DUA YA USIKU WA TAREHE 27 RAMADHANI
يَا مَادَّ الظِّلِّ
O you who extend the shadow
Enyi mnaoeneza kivuli
وَلَوْ شِئْتَ لَجَعَلْتَهُ سَاكِنًا،
If you had wished, you could have made him silent.
Lau ungetaka ungemfanya anyamaze.
وَجَعَلْتَ الشَّمْسَ عَلَيْهِ دَلِيْلًا
And you made the sun a guide for it
Na ukalijaalia jua kuwa kiongozi kwa ajili yake
ثُمَّ قَبَضْتَهُ اِلَيْكَ قَبْضًا يَسِيْرًا،
Then you took him to you briefly,
Kisha ukampeleka kwako kwa ufupi,
يَا ذَالْجُوْدِ وَالطَّوْلِ
O you who are so generous and tall
Ewe uliye mkarimu sana na mrefu
وَالْكِبْرِيَاءِ وَالْألَاءِ،
And pride and glory,
Na kiburi na utukufu,
لَا اِلَهَ اِلَّا اَنْتَ
There is no god but You
Hapana mungu ila Wewe
عَالِمُ الْغَيْبِ وَالشَّهَادَةِ
(You are) the Knower of all the unseen and the seen
(Wewe ndiye) Mjuzi wa yaliyofichikana na yanayoonekana
الرَّخمْنُ الرَّحِيْمُ،
The Most Merciful, the Most Merciful.
Mwenye kurehemu, Mwenye kurehemu.
لَا اِلَهَ اِلَّا أَنْتَ
There is no god but You
Hapana mungu ila Wewe
يَا قُدُّوْسُ يَا سَلامُ
O Holy One, O Peace
Ewe Mtakatifu, Ewe Amani
يَا مُؤْمِنُ يَا مُهَيْمِنُ
O Granter of security! O All-preserver!
Ewe Mpaji wa usalama! Ewe Mlinzi wa kila kitu!
يَا عَزِيْزُ يَاجَبَارُ
O dear, O mighty
Ewe mpendwa, Ewe mwenye nguvu
يَا مُتَكَبَّرُ يَا اَللهُ
O arrogant one, O God
Ewe mwenye kiburi ee Mungu
يَا خَالِقُ يَا بَارِئُ يَا مُصَوِّرُ،
O Creator, O Creator, O Former,
Ewe Muumba, Ewe Muumba, Ewe Muumba,
يَا اَللهُ يَا اَللهُ يَا اَللهُ،
Oh God, oh God, oh God,
Ee Mungu, ee Mungu, ee Mungu,
لَكَ الْاَسْمَاءُ الْخُسْتَى،
To You are the most beautiful names,
Kwako ni majina mazuri zaidi,
وَالْاَمْثَالُ الْعُلْيَا،
And the highest proverbs,
Na methali za juu zaidi,
وَالْكِبْرِيَآءُ وَالألَاءُ،
And pride and splendor,
Na fahari na fahari,
آَسَاَلُكَ آَنْ تُصَلِّيَ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَألِ مُحَمَّدٍ،
I ask you to bless Muhammad and the family of Muhammad.
Ninakuomba umbariki Muhammad na familia ya Muhammad.
وَاَنْ تَجْعَلَ اسمِي فِي هَذِهِ اللَّيْلَةِ فِي السُّعَدَاءِ،
And make my name among the happy ones this night,
Na ufanye jina langu kati ya wale walio na furaha usiku huu,
وَرُوْحِيْ مَعَ الشَّهَدَاءِ،
And my soul is with the martyrs,
Na roho yangu iko pamoja na mashahidi.
وَإِحْسَانِي فِي عِلَّيَّيْنَ،
And my goodness is in Aliyin,
Na wema wangu uko katika Aliyin.
وَاِسَاءَتِيْ مَغْفُوْرَةً،
And my offense is forgiven,
Na kosa langu limesamehewa,
وَاَنْ تَهَبَ لِي يَقِيْنًا تُبَاشِرُ بِهِ قَلْبِيْ،
And if you grant me certainty that will bring peace to my heart,
Na kama ukinipa yakini itakayoleta amani moyoni mwangu.
وَاِيْمَانَا يُذْهِبُ الشَّكِّ عَنِّيْ،
And faith removes doubt from me,
Na imani huniondolea shaka.
وَتُرْضِيَني بِمَا قَسَمْتَ لِيْ،
And please me with what you have apportioned for me,
Na niridhishe kwa yale uliyonigawia.
وَأتِنَا فِي الدُّنْيَا حَسَنَةُ
And We gave goodness in this world
Na tukatoa wema katika dunia hii
وَفِي الْأخِرَةِ حَسَنَةَ
And in the afterlife it will be good
Na katika maisha ya baadaye itakuwa nzuri
وَقِنَا عَذَابَ النَّارِ الحَرِيْقِ،
Protect us from the torment of burning fire,
Utulinde na adhabu ya moto uwakao,
وَاززُقْنِيْ فِيْهَا ذِكْرَكَ وَشُكْرَكَ وَالرَّغْبَةَ اِلَيْكَ
And bless me with remembrance of You, gratitude to You, and longing for You.
Na nibariki kwa kukukumbuka Wewe, kukushukuru, na kukutamani Wewe.
وَالْإِنَابَةَ وَالتَّوْبَةَ وَالتَّوْفِيقَ لِمَا وَفَّقْتَ لَهُ مُحَمَدًا وَالَ مُحَمَّدٍ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ
And repentance, repentance, and success in what You granted Muhammad and the family of Muhammad, may God bless him and grant him peace.
Na toba, na toba, na kufaulu katika yale uliyomruzuku Muhammad na Aali Muhammad, Mwenyezi Mungu amfikishie rehema na amani.
وَعَلَيْهِمُ السَّلَامُ.
And peace be upon them.
Na amani iwe juu yao.
